Our daughter wants our blessing to marry a man that she met in prison. Say what? Our daughter is 22 years old, and she has been writing to this man in prison since she was 18. Oh, boy. And she found him on this prisoner website where you can write the prisoners. So she wasn't in prison and met him in prison. And then it got out and then she wants to marry the guy she-- A no, Bill. She found him on a prisoner website. Write a prisoner website. So she was surfing right in prison or websites. And she found them. And they became like pen pals. OK. We had an issue with it then, but we didn't make a big deal about it because we just thought, oh, she's young. She's going to get over this. This is just like a bad boy phase, right? Fast forward. She hasn't had a boyfriend in these four years. She has rejected offers from nice young men. And she spends every dime going to visit him and putting money on his books. Well, she has had a boyfriend. This guy, right? Yes. Yeah. She deserves better in a real relationship. Plus, this man is only seven years into his 20-year sentence. 20-year sentence. OK. What can we do? Or what should we do? Please help. So he's only got 13 years left. Ooh. It's crazy. So she met him on this Write a Prisoner website. Why was she surfing the Write a Prisoner website? That's the first question. Who knows? I mean, obviously-- I don't even know how you come across that and become a pen pal with a prisoner. I don't know. But she-- I don't either, but I mean, obviously it's a thing. He did, and she's fallen headed over heels over him. And she's like sticking by his side. She puts money on the book. She goes and visits him. And this is like her man. So he has a 20-year sentence. He's already served seven. And I guess they're like, oh, she's 18. She's going through this bad thing. She's 22, though. And then now here we are. She's 22. They think at first she's young. All right, well, you got 13 years to get her out of that. You got 13 years. I mean, look, she's 22. I don't know what you can do. I mean, you can just-- I mean, you can tell her you don't like it. You can just stand on how you feel and whatever. Why is he in prison? I mean, 20 years is a long time. That's a 100-sentence he wanted to do something serious. Yeah, it must be something. Definitely a felony and definitely something not good. 470 or checking in. What the? Yeah. Write a prisoner. Let's see. Shout out to everybody who is listening to us. Now, I know that we have-- We have a lot of people who listen to us who are locked up right now. And we love you guys. We appreciate you guys. There's no judgment at all. Look, I definitely believe in second chances. Yeah. And we also have people that are in a relationship with somebody who's in prison. Correct. And they call us. They check in with us and they're like, yeah, I'm sticking by. Yes. My man or my woman, I get it. We definitely are not putting any kind of judgment behind anyone because we know things happen. And I mean, everybody's situation is different. Everyone's situation is different. You don't know what the situation is. I just think it's crazy, I guess, because she's never known him, met him. And there is the site here. Write a prisoner, thousands of prison pen pal profiles. You can search the inmate profiles. You can search their location. You can see new listings on prisoners that are on there and what they say. And then it says, help me sign up. My inmate, you can do an advanced search, but you can also click here. And I can see where it says, like, first off, I want to catch your attention right away and say, that's like one of the profile descriptions. You know, I can't see the entire thing here because I'm not signed up on the site. But another one here says, I'm very goofy and I'm a fun person. I love to laugh and make the best. But you can go to the website here, you can click it and you can become a pen pal with an inmate. - Well, I would love to talk to somebody who is in a relationship with somebody who is locked up. Who has a long, like lengthy sense, like, or maybe even somebody who's met somebody through a website like this, you know. - Again, no judgment here. - No judgment here. - Is an online Florida-based business. The business goal is to reduce, it's to help give you different methods that include positive correspondence with pen pals. And hopefully when they have a positive experience, it helps with the rate for them not to go back, get locked back up again. - Yeah. - 'Cause they have, like, something to look forward to. They feel connected with someone. They get advice. - Again, 302-85A5117. Mom writes in, our daughter wants a blessing to marry a man that she met in prison. She's 22. She found him on a prisoner website. And, you know, she's sending him money. She goes and sees him. He's got 13 years left out of a 20-year sentence. And she, the mom's like, what do we do here?
