that's the worst need back we get your feedback using the speed back we love your feedback sending feedback so we can be back and a feedback we love your feedback everyone's clearing the runway for Ed did you get any other than Ed oh or no one gives a shit about boxing amen or thanksgiving man his his initial response to the to the boxing episode is I was completely knocked out by a shot to my left temple at just over a minute if you watch close you can see mugsy connect with an overhand right hand haymaker I remember nothing from when I was hit until I heard the referee count eight I was diagnosed with a concussion by the attending physician but we don't know if that was a real physician I love I love it that's why we don't know that it was a concussion because maybe he was a physician I also remember passing out again in the shower after the fight and I thought Cuba was there when I woke up on the shower floor but I guess that could have been Kevin his brother not much after the fight is clear for the next several days but I did have to work the Sunday night shift at the funscape I have answers to all your questions and you can either type up I can either type up an extensive summary or y'all can call me or zoom call and I will answer them whatever works for you I laugh at the experience now but honestly it really sucked so I'll just go through the text ones I was basically like we're just thankful you're here to tell the tale and I mentioned had you not cried wolf at the carrier dome in high school I would believe your story about getting knocked out I told that story I don't think so Tully he went to Tully high school they were playing in like the sectional championship or something at the dome mm-hmm and Ed was not good at football but he got they were winning and he got in at the end mm-hmm and he faked an injury to get here his name over over the allowed speaker and his brother his brother is also on the team was like what are you doing get up you idiot then add continues it was T low knoll's father who was the mastermind Paul he was a wheeler dealer he was a wheeler dealer several quote legitimate businesses and several under the table businesses including boxing promotion Tyler worked for funscape but Paul was the person who paid me and made everything happen I met him when he came to visit Tyler at work Paul and I struck up a friendship that thank God ended when I moved to Victor in January of 98 turns out he was connected to the Gambino crime family Yikes I just emailed you both boxing feedback it's really long and y'all can feel free to summarize or not use it at all I can't believe that I haven't shared with Ryan over the years about the blowback from the New Jersey State Athletic Commission or the investigation that ensued after the fight I guess I was embarrassed and didn't want to talk about it I really could have gotten into a bunch of trouble if things had gone sideways or if I had heaven forbid actually won the fight hope you both had a wonderful Thanksgiving love you all so do you want to read his email sure just wild yeah okay add the boxing feedback hello brothers I will try to answer what questions I remember with whatever answers I can remember as I told you in the text feedback whether you believe it or not I was definitely couldn't cost during the fight and did not take a dive I can also tell you that it hurt as my face was bruised and swollen for several days after the fight as I get further away from the actual event I can appreciate the novelty and the bizarre nature of the situation but I honestly wish I had not done it as a parent now I definitely feel remorse for putting my parents through the entire ordeal like anything in our lives it has shaped me into the person I am today and the thing I appreciate the most is the support of my friends and family to drop everything and come to Atlantic City on September 6 1997 yeah Tyler Tyler's father Paul was a small-time thug and car dealer he actually gave me a tremendous deal a 1996 Ford Thunderbird that I drove for years that was worth more to me than the $1,000 I received for the fight after a call from the New Jersey State Athletic Commission in April of 1998 I also discovered that Paul was a low-level soldier in an organized crime family who held legitimate businesses to cover for his less than legal actions in other areas including professional boxing promotions the real reason I was quote chosen to fight Luis Lopez was to allow Paul and his associates to make large amounts of money by betting on Luis Lopez to win the fight I was favored in the fight I was favored in the fight by all the sports books since I was younger stronger faster and undefeated with a huge punching power and a 7 inch reach advantage talking about reach is the best only Paul and his associates were aware that Paul had illegally forged all my boxing stats and training records to everyone who looked I was a legitimate boxer with great abilities and a great trainer in hindsight I was the biggest Patsy in the world and I am sure it was hilarious to Paul that he was able to take advantage of me so easily hey do you want a box yes Luis was an actual middleweight boxer who was passed his prime associated with Paul and his friends and known around New Jersey for being scrappy and difficult to knock down he had years of boxing experience that I managed to completely short circuit by throwing wildly fingers and back hands with no regard for what they hit if you watch the first five seconds of the flight you will see that I come out and peg him with a decent shot to the face and he is shocked that I hit him yeah then one comment there's like long with a flurry early calling it a flurry he then tries to actually box me for the rest of the short fight and I made him look bad due to my horrible moves and punches he also looks bad because he is well past his salad days and was not interested in boxing me or anyone boxing is like a dance and I was freestyling and stepping all over his toes I get right all day and this is already too long so I will now just summarize some basic facts one I was approached to box by Paul in late July of 1997 fight was which number six just less than two months yep his proposal to me was how much do you weigh you want to clear a thousand dollars cash that's it yep he told me that the fighter he had scheduled to fight at over the line had broken his leg in a car accident my training consisted of losing ten pounds in five weeks by eating less and doing push-ups and sit-ups I had to be under one sixty five hundred sixty five pounds to fight I did not go to a gym or hit a bag I was not to hold to throw the fight in so many words but Paul did mention several times that I should not expect to win his son Tyler was assigned by Paul to be with me ringside and make sure I stayed positive and not back out Tilo and all was a strange young man and a few weeks after the fight he quit his job in the funscape yeah by April of 1998 I was promoted to the general manager of the funscape complex in Victor New York one afternoon I was told that I had a phone call from an attorney with the New Jersey State Athletic Commission I went to my office and was greeted by an official who told me they were investigating my fight a very long conversation ensued where they went over everything that had happened since the fight how they knew I had not been an amateur boxer how my records were forged that right and what type of person Paul was and how involved he was an organized crime they asked me about my involvement and I spilled my guts and told them everything I knew and what I did and I even offered to return to them the thousand dollars I was paid they asked me if I threw the fight and I told them what I told you I was knocked out they asked me if I had gambled on the fight and I responded no they asked me if I was still in contact with Paul and if he had shared any of the extensive winnings he had gained by betting on Luis Lopez during our fight after answering the questions asked they told me that I was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing and that would have and that they would contact me if they had any other questions I have not heard from them again praise God in conclusion the fight is actually the least interesting part of the story I can honestly tell you the worst thing about boxing is my entire experience with boxing thank you yeah the stories he had about all the pre-fight stuff to just the weigh-in and like just with this stable of of non-boxers spared for this fight was just insane yeah the fight was easily the worst part like it's it's pretty genius like not not having to get someone to throw the fight and just getting someone who will do it and is it really is because it was so obvious that that's what happened that they forged all this stuff right sure where those ten wins came from yeah you got a wonder where those ten wins came from but we're again we're happy that yeah you're here to tell the tale absolutely that's it that's it that's it the bag it was a feedback they give up the bag it's a Nick P bag and up to be back so we can be back you want your feedback be love your feedback don't be the worst
