Hi, welcome to another power blast podcast where we provide nourishment for the soul allowing you to transform from the inside out Providing a wrapper results in mindset and fitness so you can recharge your battery and reclaim your power You don't need everything to be perfect to start your health and fitness routine You see the perfect time doesn't exist, but action will always move you forward I know it's really easy to overthink things and the think you have to have the perfect time the perfect set up All the right equipment all the right memberships all the everything right the even the even the apparel sometimes Some of us we feel Stuck waiting for the right moment and we'll put things off and it's just an elaborate way to procrastinate you know that right Whether it's improving our health starting up fitness routine or really even pursuing life goals. We hold ourselves back By thinking conditions need to be just right even if we don't say it out loud But the thing is taking action Even when you feel unprepared and I get it a lot of us We just want to get it right out of the gate and say oh, I just want to have everything in order first So I just feel it's all organized. You're probably saying well, it's pretty obvious Perry, but it really boils down to starting before you have all the answers knowing that clarity Will come as you start taking those steps forward now. I know I help a lot of people set goals And I think at the beginning if you can be clear on what that end result will look like for you at least Have a really pretty good idea, but it doesn't mean you need to know how to get there Right out of the gate. It's just that you've got a goal and you're in your clear on, you know It's way more clear than saying. Oh, I just want to lose some weight and get in shape It's it's more detailed than that But then to take action, you know waiting for readiness. That's a trap And the reality is readiness it usually comes after you've started not before you know that that works the same way with Motivation a lot of people wait to get motivated before they take action And you know what the action has to happen first and people get that reversed. I know I did for years So why do we hesitate? Well one reason fear and it's usually fear of failure or fear of judgment or fear of the unknown But here's the thing fear it doesn't disappear on its own When you confront it You shrink it and when you take that first step no matter how small it might be for me You know, it's like little 20 25 minute workouts just showing up every day You are proving to yourself That fear does not control you even if you don't say it out loud that fear is controlling me and all that stuff That's usually what it is Another reason we usually delay things overthinking We analyze every scenario we try to predict All the outcomes or we try to avoid every single mistake and that leads to this perfection mindset You know perfection it that's not gonna get you the results What's gonna get you the results is action So, you know be consistent focus on what's right in front of you Just do today and trust that you can handle any challenge that comes your way And so let's talk about fitness for a second Maybe you're like me. How many times have you told yourself? Well, I'll start on Monday I'll start next I'll start at the beginning of the month or as I'm recording this we're heading into the month of December There will be many people out there that have big fitness goals or health goals And they'll say I'll start at the beginning of the next year, and I'm recording this on December 1st So there's a whole month there of procrastination and waiting a Lot of times people will say well, I'll just wait until things calm down to till till things Settle down a little bit. It'll get a little bit easier. You know what life rarely gives us the perfect window You know, maybe you don't have that ideal schedule or the fanciest of equipment or the best plan, you know what equipment I started with Seriously, I you know, I I had went out and I bought the best The best elliptical machine which turned into an elaborate, you know thing for drying clothes I bought a really great exercise machine kind of like oh just a knock-off version of Your both legs sort of thing And it ended up not even being assembled in the basement So I bought the equipment and I'm like, you know what? I'm just gonna keep things simple didn't make it fancy I had one set of Resistance bands a red red resistance band. I did have go out and get a A set of push-up bars because my wrists preferred that and I got I had one set of 20-pound dumbbells which I didn't even use for like the first 90 days I Just couldn't pick up. I didn't have the strength to curl them. So that just sat over there resistance bands That was it and corner of my bedroom You think the thing is you don't even have to have the best plan just it doesn't all that doesn't matter What matters is showing up consistently doing what you can with what you have? Action that creates the momentum When you move even if it's messy, you're teaching yourself resilience and adaptability and those skills Those are the things that are going to help you stick with your goals long term I know it's might sound a little bit foggy to you especially if you haven't taken action and you've gotten really good at the Procrastination game, but what if you set that aside? That's what I did. I said, you know what? I'm just not gonna procrastinate now. I'm gonna show up no matter what I'm gonna prove to myself I can show up and just do today and I'd put a little X on the calendar showed up showed up showed up and my goal was 90 straight days and I knew that I could do 90 straight days because all I had to do is show up and Dispel all the things where I'm trying to be perfect You know So that's that's where things are it created momentum and speaking of momentum and Energy hop on Hop on over to talk to Perry calm will map out your next steps and talk about how you can keep that Forward momentum going no matter where you're starting from talk to Perry calm. That's only delaying your progress and you get and then you're strengthening that muscle Right you're strengthening the quitting and the procrastination muscle even if you won't call it that you'll just you'll call it justifying or rationalizing or reasoning something But starting today let the journey teach you what you need to know I Mean it really boils down to committing you know deciding and committing to yourself and taking action on your goals and You know figuring out new ways looking at possibilities learning growing and keep moving forward You've got this my friend.
