All right, we'll get to the movie airplane stuff here in just a second. But first, here's a good guitar story from Keith Urban. Keith Urban was asked, "Hey, how'd you get that Whalen Jennings 1950 broadcaster guitar, the iconic Whalen Jennings guitar which he is so proud of?" Well, the story involves his wife, Nicole Kidman. He put it up for auction, and I found out about the auction. I was trying to figure out how to register a bid on this thing. Unbeknownst to me, my wife wanted to get it for me as a gift. She didn't want me to bid on it, so she was telling my people to help me with all the finance stuff. She was like, "Make sure he doesn't figure out how to register a bid on this thing." They did a great job going, "Oh, we're trying this. We just kind of seem to figure it out." My wife walks in, she goes, "I just got your Whalen Jennings guitar, and it's just a beautiful sounding, beautiful playing guitar." That is a classic guitar. I mean, you talk about the classic. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's kind of blue and white and got the kind of like, I don't know, like paisley or rose petals kind of on it. You didn't look on the dukes I has it. All right, yeah, and Brad, the airplane techs are coming in this morning here because the co-creator of the airplane movie Jim Abrams died. He was 80 years old, and the zucker brothers are the ones who are responsible for bringing that movie to us, and the naked gun movies, too. And that is one of those movies that has so many quotable lines. And Brad and I have a scene from the movie that we enjoy and we'll share it with you in just a second. But here are some of the ones coming in from the listeners. There's a lot of the Shirley ones. Oh, yeah, Dave, that's the one he quoted first time. Don't call me Shirley. Shirley, you can't be serious. I am serious and you can't go, don't call me Shirley. Yes, and let's see, Brandon says, "Oh, the June Cleaver stuff, I speak jive." Yes, those things were great. I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue from Lloyd Bridges. Lloyd Bridges says Jim out in Port Angeles. But one of the things that made that movie so funny is just something that I don't think today's kids, they might find the movie funny. I don't know, but I don't think they would understand was that when we went to see that movie when it came out in 1980, it starred, this was obviously a comedy, and it starred a bunch of actors who were, we associated with our parents shows who were serious actors, Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, they had done all these serious TV shows. And I always loved those movies like Airpoint 77 and stuff like that, and it was almost kind of a spoof like that for me. And so, yeah, and so now we're seeing these people in a movie that is for our generation, these people from our parents' generation who are all serious and they're being spoofed, they're goofing off, it was great, and this scene, this scene here was great. This was with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Wait a minute, I know you, you're Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. You played basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers. I'm sorry son, but you must have me confused with someone else. My name is Roger Murdock, I'm the co-pilot. You are Kareem, I've seen you play. My dad's got season tickets. I think you should go back to your seat now, Joy, right Clarence? Oh, he's not bothering anyone, let him stay here. All right, but just remember, my name is Roger Murdock, I'm an airline pilot. I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. And he says that lots of times you don't even run down court, and that you don't really try, except during the playoffs. The hell I don't, listen to you. I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your old man to drag Waltland on Europe and down the court for 48 minutes. You know, in the inflatable pilot in the cock, Lloyd Bridges sniffing glue, Peter Graves, Joey, you know, all the Joey lines, all the Joey lines, you know, just, yeah, that thing was so good. How about this email real quick from Billy Jack? He says a little story to go with the line, he gives us the Shirley line. He said my dad is the chairman for the Rolls Royce Owners Club of British Columbia. He actually bought Leslie Nielsen's 1955 Bentley type R from his nephew last year. He's got pictures of him driving it, insurance papers with Leslie names, Leslie's name on it. It's a nice car. I've even driven it a couple of times myself. That's great. All right. We'll close the trash with some Jim Gaffigan from his new special, which is streaming on Hulu. I think the greatest irony of teenagers is that they're embarrassed of their parents. You're embarrassed of me? Have you looked in the mirror? Each of my teenagers has come out to me at different points and been like, Hey, can you act like you don't know me? we can make that permanent. (audience laughing)
Nicole Kidman bought Waylon Jennings classic guitar for her husband Keith Urban...one of the co-creators of the movies Airplane & Naken Gun ect, Jim Abrahams is dead at 80...plus Jim Gaffigan has a new comedy special on Hulu!
