Froggy’s Hot Tub
"This is the story of Froggy and the Hot Tub. You can read along with me in your book. You will know it is time to turn the page when you hear the chimes ring like this." "Let's begin now! Well, it was a Thanksgiving time, and Froggy's family and his extended family and all of his cousins had gotten a rental house." "And at the rental house, there was a lot of really cool stuff. There was a pool table, there was an old timey video game system, there was food, there was nice woods to explore, but the most thing that really had captured Froggy's imagination." "Yes, precisely as you just stated, the hot tub. It was the coolest thing, and Froggy was so excited to get in the hot tub. And so when they first thing when they got there, he was like, "Mom and Dad, I'm going to go get in the hot tub." "No, no, no, no, no, not so fast. First we have to help unload the car." And he was like, "Oh, boss that Peter Pan! I don't want to unload the car." And he said, "Froggy, if you want to have the fun, you have to do the work, son. Now get out there and pull the bags out of the trunk." So he opened up the trunk, all the bags fell out and crumbled all on top of him, and everything was breaking and his dad was like, "Froggy, what the heck are you doing?" And he was like, "Dad, I was just unloading the car just like you said. Well, could I say that?" Hmm, I guess I did. Okay, my bad, Froggy. You're cool. You're good. Sorry, dude. We should have opened the top hatch first, not the bottom hatch, but I do appreciate that you wanted to help out. Now here's a couple bags. Take them inside. And so Froggy started taking them inside. And Froggy's dad was busy scraping turkey and stuffing and gravy off of the driveway because it had all fallen out and scrambled all across the driveway. They were going to be needing that for the next day. And so when Froggy got in there, he was like, "Good. Now that I've unloaded the car, I can get in the hot tub." And his dad popped and said, "Not so fast. The car's not all the way unloaded, Froggy. Look, there's still 10 more bags." And he's like, "Oh, 10 bags. This is going to take 10,000 generations just to unload the car." And his dad said, "Froggy, stop being so dramatic. Stop being so thematic. And stop being so nonsensical. Now let's unload this car. Look at his split." And so they unloaded the car. And finally, they were like, "Oh, this is so good. The car is unloaded. Now dad, can we go in the hot tub?" No, you haven't even given a hug to grandmother and grandfather, Froggy. And he's like, "Ah." And he went up and he gave a hug to grandmother and grandfather, Froggy, and grandmother, Froggy. And he was like, "Oh, Sonny, you've gotten so tall this year." And he kept trying to squeeze his cheek and he kept pushing her hand out. "Oh, come here and give Granny a kiss. Old Granny wants to say hi to you. Oh, Froggy, you've gotten so old." "Would you like a Werther's original candy? Here you go." And she pulled out some candies out of her purse and Froggy was like, "Oh, Granny. What I really want is to go in the hot tub." "Why didn't you say so? Old Granny will take you to the hot tub. Come with me." And she walked him out back and Froggy was like, "Oh, this is great." Next thing you know, Old Granny and Froggy were really enjoying a beautiful hot tub session. And the other cousins were coming out too and all the cousins in Old Granny were in there and Old Granny was like, "Did I ever tell you about the first time that I went in the hot tub? Why it was back in the year 1920?" And we went and we hopped our way down to the old hot springs. But while they were in the hot tub, Froggy's dad went to go talk some wood to make a fire. And one of the trees goes down on top of the hot tub. And Old Granny was like, "Ah, what is this tree? I'm just going to tell you about the great hot tub expedition of 1942." "But now there's a tree in the hot tub. This is so bogus, man." And the tree had smashed the side of it so all the water was rushing and gushing out of the hot tub. And Father Froggy was like, "Oh, I'm quite sorry. That is highly irregular. That my tree chopping goes out of control." "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The hot tub is ruined. Everyone get out of the hot tub." And I was like, "Dad, I've been waiting all day to go in the hot tub and finally Old Granny had taken me in the hot tub, and now it's ruined!" "Ahhhhhh!" And his father said, "Frog, get a hold of yourself. Why would you cry about such a thing?" "Because it's super sad. That's why." And he's like, "Oh, Froggy. It's not that big of a deal." And Granny was about to say, "Well, this reminds me of the old hot tub incident of 1922, because back then, my grandfather actually chopped a tree down and destroyed the natural hot spring." And we had to sneak a pile of rocks to build up the hot pool so we could get back to, you know, dipping in the hot spring. "And that gives me a grand idea. Let's build a pool of rocks that we can siphon this water into and we can enjoy it like the old days." And Froggy's like, "Oh, Granny, do you think we really could do that?" "Sure, of course we could. Now, hop along with me and help Old Granny get some nice rocks." And so they hopped down to the river, and each one of them started taking rocks. They hopped their rocks back up by the house. And like when these froggy and slick, ricky raccoons were skipping the rocks, under one of the rocks was a snake. And Granny was the one who picked up the snake, and Granny was like, "Baa! There's a snake in my hands! Oh my goodness! What am I going to do?" And Froggy was like, "Toss him over here!" And Froggy got him, and Froggy was like, "What should I do with him? Should I chop him up with my axe?" And they were like, "No, no, no. He's just a friendly woodland creature." And he's like, "Okay, snake, are you going to bite anybody?" He's like, "No, I just simply but wanted one opportunity to get into the hot tub. I'm so cold." And they said, "Do you promise not to bite anybody?" "Of course, I promise. Are you going to promise not to bite me?" And they were like, "Yes, we're not dangerous bloodthirsty frogs." "You're not home, baby." "Be as little boo-fos." And so they got back, and they piled up this really nice hot tub out of rocks. And they dropped the hose in one side, where the old hot tub was. And Froggy was like, "Watch this." And he sucked on the hose, and that started the siphoning going. And the water siphoned over into the new rock pool. Before you know, it was all filled up, and Granny was like, "Guys, this is just like the Hot Springs Adventure of 1922. I'm so glad to share this with you." And all the grandchildren and the cousins enjoyed that hot tub. All Thanksgiving long. And it became known as the best Thanksgiving of all time. The end! Yeah! Yeah! (cheering)
