Boston's Community Radio Station. WBCA 102.9 FM Boston. My name is Warren C. Tyler. I am your host, AKA Brother Warren, and you are in tune to Revelations. Today, we're gonna talk about not faith. We're gonna talk about grace. We talked about faith earlier. We talked about mercy, and today, our discussion is about grace. There's a definition of grace, but before I go, I wanna share this with you. Grace is considered gods. Grace is usually defined as undeserved favor. Grace cannot be earned. It is something that is freely given. Grace is something that's freely given. You cannot earn it. You can receive it, but you cannot earn grace. Grace is something that God gives, and people can show grace also. I also like to go into a couple of scriptures and share with you what it says in the Bible about grace. We're gonna go to Genesis chapter six, verse eight. And we're gonna hear a little something about what God says about His grace. In Genesis chapter six, verse eight, it says, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. So Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Why did Noah find grace? God gives grace to everybody. We're gonna go to another scripture in second Corinthians 12, second Corinthians 12. In second Corinthians 12, the Bible says, let me find it real quick, the Bible says second Corinthians 12, verse nine, it says, and he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pledges in infirmities and reproaches, in need, in persecution, in distress, for Christ's sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong. This scripture comes out of second Corinthians 12, nine. But if we go to the top, it talks about a thorn in the flesh. In this thorn in the flesh was something that Paul received, but God told him something about grace. He says, at least I should be exalted above measures by the abundance of the revelation. A thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me. At least I be exalted above measures concerning this thing, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. See, grace is something that we have to understand that it comes from God. And when we walk in our life, when we walk and we move and we do things and we get by, we don't understand why. We don't understand how do we make it through certain things. But the Bible talks about God and his grace. We cannot believe to get things we cannot go and do the things God tells us to do. Even when we feel weak, we have his strength. So many times when I was learning about God's grace, I didn't understand that everything I do, everything I get through, everything I suffer, everything I don't suffer, it's only because of God's grace. It's something he gives to us freely. And when I feel like going through some suffering and I cannot endure the suffering, and somehow I get through the suffering, but I don't understand how I get through it. God speaks about his grace. He speaks about whenever we go through things in life and we believe in trusting God through faith, his mercies and his grace, we can endure whatever it is that's afflicted upon us. We don't have to sit and wonder if we're gonna get out of this thing. We don't have to sit and wonder how can we survive and how can we endure it. If God's grace is laid upon us, we can endure it. God tells us if you allow me to shine my grace upon you, you will be able to get through it because it's by his grace, we make it. God says when we're weak, we'll be strong. Only because of God's grace. Many people receive grace and they don't understand how they got by. It's because of God's grace. Grace is also called favor. We can get favor if you're a child of God, but you also can get favor from other people. People can favor you because they know you or because of the things, their relationship you have with these people. But the difference with God is he shines grace, he gives grace to all people. It's not a matter of you living a certain way, you not believing in God. God still gives grace. He's not posh out of the, he don't pick favor to, he don't have favoritism over other people. But you will receive favor when you honor God and you walk in his will. It's almost like a son that honor his father. You might have two sons, one son honors the father and one son doesn't honor the father. So the father is gonna show grace on both sons, but who's gonna get more favor? The son that obeys and honor the father do to love. So grace is shed upon everyone. God do not take his grace and say, I'm gonna give you grace and I'm gonna give you grace. Everyone receives grace because we need God's grace. I can talk about a lot of things of how God showed his grace upon me. There's many stories I have about when this scripture came to life, came to life in my life. A lot of times when I read the scriptures, I might not understand what it is God is telling me at that moment, but there's times after I go through it and the scriptures in my subconscious and I read it and I go through it and I experience, then I can see and understand what God is really saying in these scriptures. This, it's so beautiful when you can understand the scriptures or you can read the scriptures, when you can believe the scriptures and you can start living by the truth of God's word. Now, I'm gonna share some things with you when we come back. We take breaks during the show. We do PSAs, Public Service Announcements. We also have a call in number that you can call in at 617-708-3211. And we just wanna hear from the listeners about what it is we're talking about. We're discussing God's grace and what it means to me and to everybody else because I listen to the words of God. I believe in the words of God. There's a scripture that says the truth shall make you free. Free in what? What are we free from? We're free from the bondage of sin. We all fall short because we have a sinful nature. We miss the mark because we was created. We wasn't created in sin. We was born in sin. God created the first man without sin. That's a long story. And we can go over that in the future shows. But grace is something that we're talking about today. And if you wanna call in and share a story about how God showed you grace or how God gave you faith or how God had mercy on you or whatever it is, whatever the topic is. We don't have to talk about grace today. You can call in and ask and talk about any question you have that has to do with revelations because we read the scriptures but God gives us interpretation through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit teaches us the things of God. You have to be full of the Holy Spirit. You have to be born again. You have to have God's Spirit within you in order to receive God. This is not a favoritism thing. This is a real thing. There's many scriptures that the Bible talk about and once you understand it and know it will be manifested in your life and you will live by it and you will have confidence in it and you will stand by it and you will stand on it because the foundation is Christ. (upbeat music) - And we are back on WBCA 102.9 FM. I am your host Warren C. Tyler, AKA brother Warren and you are in tune to Revelations. Before we left, we talked about what it is to have God's grace. God's grace is usually defined as undeserved favor. Grace cannot be earned. It is something that is freely given. I wanna talk about grace because that's what we're here for. I wanna share some stuff that I learned in experience through God's grace. Like I said before, I like reading Scriptures because it's God's word and it's how God speaks to us. He speaks to us through the Bible. The Bible is active and it's alive. It's God's word. You have to believe it in order to receive it in order for it to move in your life 'cause God works by faith and without faith it's impossible to please God. So I wanna share another scripture and then I'm gonna talk about something that happened with me where God showed me grace because we all receive grace in one time or the other. So this scripture is about God's grace through faith and it talks a lot. So listen to the words that I'm gonna share in the scripture. It's from the book of Ephesians. Ephesians chapter two, we're gonna read you from chapter two, verse one, and we're gonna go around to 10. And you, he made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature children's wrath just as the others. But God who was rich in mercy because of his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved and raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the years to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace and his kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith in that not of yourself, it is the gift of God, not of works, these anyone should boast. For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them. There's a lot in this scripture and it talks about grace. It says for by grace you have been saved through faith. So we receive grace but we have faith. For by grace you have been saved through faith and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, at least anyone should boast. So I receive God's grace by faith. It's his gift to me. It's not something that I worked for because if I worked for grace then God owes me a payday. He owes me something because I work and now I want something from God. God don't owe anybody. We don't receive grace by working for it because if we work for grace then we can boast. The Bible says not of works, at least anyone should boast. So if grace was given because of what I did I could say why did all this? And I did more than you. And God gave me this and God gave me that. But it will be something that God owes me. So I can boast. So God says no one's gonna boast due to his grace because it's a gift, it's a gift. Now the catcher is I have a gift that I give into the whole world freely. You have to receive the gift. Jesus Christ came and died. That was a gift to the whole world. Who received it? Did anyone receive it? Did anyone believe it? Did anyone believe and trust what God said He gave us a gift which was His Son. He gave us grace freely so no one can boast. No one can work for it. So the grace is something that God gives. He gives us grace freely through faith. I just read the grace through faith. Everything works together with God. You have to believe it, you have to receive it and you have to live by it. Now, I said I was gonna share something with you before I left. There was a time that I was incarcerated. I speak about that. I speak about that freely because I'm not ashamed of it. I talk about it, you might hear me talk about it. It's because it happened. It's real, it's true. Everything I speak, even these Bible Scriptures, I believe the truth in them. If you believe it, believe it. But I'm not making no one a believer. Only God can make you a believer. So I received something from God and He showed me, He showed me what I experienced by His Word. His Word actually came alive to me when I was incarcerated. He said something in 2 Corinthians 12. And we read it earlier. But I wanna share this with you because I want you to understand what it is that God had me to see. I didn't know how I've got through what it is that I experienced. I didn't know it was God. I didn't know it was His grace. So I had to experience this. And then I read what it was and I experienced it. And then I said, oh, I actually, I went through what God was saying. And it had me to think, wow. So God's Word is active in its alive. There was many things I went through that God proved me right. Well, proved me wrong if I didn't really believe it. He showed me that you can count and stand on His Word. There's many believers out there who know what I'm talking about. And I'm gonna share this. This happened to me. I was incarcerated and I worked in the kitchen. And while in the kitchen, I used to serve on the line and there was hot stuff on the line and there was workers on the line also. I served, someone brought the food, the pan to the line. The pan's a hot. This kid, younger than me, younger than my daughter, I told him, excuse me, sir, can you say, excuse me? 'Cause he's been bringing these pans to the line and it was hot. He did it not once, twice, but three times. And every time he came, he would push me out the way and say, excuse me. No, he would say, it's hot, it's hot. Like, he would say, move, move. And I'm like, why is he doing this? He could grab oven mitts and just bring the food to the line. But he was bringing it to the line with his bare hands and it was hot, so he was pushing me out the way. So I got mad and I said, the word, excuse me. And he did something terribly to me. When we got off the line, I went to the mop closet to clean up. He came behind me and punched me in the face. And I was like, whoa, I didn't know what to do. I was stuck in my way. I was just, I was froze because this kid punched me and I didn't know what to do. I turned around and I just couldn't do nothing to him. Where I came from, no one punched. No one without them doing something. He punched me and I did nothing to him. Here's the catcher. I'm walking in God's grace. I'm walking in God's will. I posted a testifier for God. Had I did something to him, my testimony was out the window. Long story short. God says, my grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Then it says for when I am weak, then I am strong. This is the catcher. I was weak at that moment. The guy punched me. I wanted to punch him back. But guess what? That's my weakness. My flesh is weak. I want to hurt this young man because he punched me. I didn't hurt him. I didn't do nothing. So at that time of me about to do something to him, I couldn't. God's grace took over and I became strong. It says, my grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness. God's strength showed up in my weakness. When I am weak, I am strong in God. So this scripture came to my mind. I knew it all the time, but I never experienced it and I never got the grips of it until I went through it. I see what it means when God says his grace is sufficient for us because he has strength when we are weak. So there's many times people are weak and they do a lot of things out of their weakness. But God's grace is enough for you in any circumstance. In any moment God is telling me his grace is enough, sufficient means his grace is enough for me not just today, it's enough for me all the time. I have no excuse when I say, I can't handle it Lord. God says yes you can because when you're weak, you have strength in God, you can't handle it. So God gives us no excuse for having excuse for anything in life. When we understand God's grace, when we know that we don't gotta sweat anything in this life, we know that we can get through it because God's word is yes. God's word is the truth. And when you understand his truth, you won't have so much. You won't feel vulnerable, you don't feel like, am I gonna, you won't be worried, you won't be concerned, you won't be getting into a point where you're getting depressed, you won't be living like the world lives because we have confidence, we have a foundation that we stand on. We believe what God said. There was another time when I spoke about some things and I talked to this guy and I told him, listen, I don't know man, I can't handle it. But I told him this after I preached on this word. I told him that we can handle everything because God's grace is sufficient. So now them coming up against what I believe and I'm feeling like, wow, how can I preach or teach or talk about? I can't handle anything. When I preached on God's grace is enough. You can't go against what you believe in. You can't tell someone, I can't do it, I can't make it. You can't go against God's word once you know the truth because God gives you revelations and interpretation of his word. So when you read these scriptures, you know this scripture in Second Corinthians, the thorn in the flesh is talking about when Paul had an infirmity and he was going through something. The Bible says what it is. He was going through something where Satan was buffeting him, beating him and doing something and he said, God help me. Paul said, God help me. And guess what God says? I'm not. What do you mean you're not God? I'm not going to help you. What I'm going to do, I'm going to be there with you. I'm going to give you strength when you're weak. So I'm not taking away the thorn. What I'm going to do is I'm going to be there so you can get through the storm, the thorn, the storm or whatever it is. God don't be moved in firmities. He gives us the strength to go through your infirmities. He don't change the situation, he changes you. He make you better, he make you strong so you can go through the storm. You can't just take away storms. Storms come as storms go. You can't take away suffering. You can't take away pain. You can't take a lot of things away. God, grace is sufficient. It's enough for us to get through it. This stuff is real. It's like people have to understand every word of God is real. It's so beautiful. And that's why I'm here to talk about it. That's why I'm here to discuss it. God changed my life. And I'm not trying to make a person a believer because the devil believes. But he's going with, he, he believe, but he shivers. The demons believe, but they shiver. It's not just believe. You have to be moved by your belief. You have to be moved by faith. Faith moves you. We can discuss something in the book of James, we'll talk about faith in works. We don't work for heaven. We're going to heaven because of Christ. We believed in Christ. God sent him and we believe. That's our ticket to heaven. So God says, you don't receive this by works. I give you grace so no one can boast about what I give you. If someone give you a gift, you can't be like, "Yo, look at what I got. I got all this." Someone gave you that gift. You received that gift. You never had that gift. You have to receive the gift and you don't boast because it never was yours. God gives us everything freely and we don't have to pay for it. Everything is free with God. In this thing about grace, it's so, so real. But you have to understand what grace is. You have to want to receive what grace is. There's many things I can talk about about God's grace. He showed me grace over and over and over again. And I got story at the story about God's grace. This Bible is full of God's grace. The Bible is full of God's faith. The Bible is full of God's mercy. The Bible is full of many things. But we have to receive it. We have to believe it by faith. You have to have faith. Faith, it's impossible to please God without it. Faith is something that we need. Many people can tell you and try to steal your faith but make you don't want to believe, then that's on you. But God gives a measure of faith. And with that faith, you can do wonders. There's many things God showed me that I do as of now through my faith. I don't boast in nothing because this is not about work. This is not about boasting. God gave this to me freely. I boasting knowing God. I understand God. I understand it's Him who received the glory. And I'm here to testify. My name is W.C. Tyler, AKA Brother Warren. We're talking about grace today and what grace is and what grace isn't. And we just discussed a couple of stories of how God showed me grace when I was weak and I was strong in God. Because his grace is sufficient for when I am weak, I am strong. So God's grace is something that we have to understand. And once we understand what it is, we can just live by it and just, just grasp it in and do what we do. I want to share something as far as what I'm going to talk about next time on WBCA 102.9 FM. My name is Brother Warren, AKA Brother Warren. I'm W.C. Tyler. I'm going to talk about the gifts of God next week when I come, Lord's Will. I want to share something real quick on spiritual gifts and where they come from. So I'm going to give you a quick peek at what we're going to share next time on the show. And I want to share this because God gives us a lot of gifts and is a way we receive these gifts. These gifts come by way of the Holy Spirit and God does it. And he puts in us these gifts, these talents. We might go over a couple of scriptures about a talent. A talent is something Jesus used in the Bible figuring a value of money, like a talent. But the talent we're talking about is a gift. It's like some children are born with gifts, they know how to play the keyboard, they know how to play the horn, they could be geniuses. So they're born with gifts, they're born with a talent. God's gifts and God's talents is to be used for God's glory. So I want to share a spiritual gift. I want to share first Corinthians 12 and what it talks about having these gifts. 'Cause God gave me many gifts. And I want to share with you by grace, by faith, by mercy, what it means to have these gifts. Our first Corinthians 12, one, I'm gonna read down and I might finish at verse 11. Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus the curse and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit. There are difference of ministry, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the prophet of all. So we get these gifts to profit all the whole body. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the work in the miracles by the Spirit, to others' prophecy, to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues, but one in the same Spirit works all of these things, distributed in to each one individually as he wills. So the Bible speaks about gifts and it talks about how they come. So the gifts I receive through faith, through God's grace, through mercy, is the gift that was distributed to me by the Holy Spirit. Each one individually as he wills. He gives gifts to each of us. God gave me a gift. I take my gift and I use it for his glory. I use his gift because he gave this gift to me. We're gonna share about what it is to have these gifts and how we post the, use these gifts because the gift is to profit all. When I say all, that means the whole body of Christ. So we're gonna share these gifts. We're gonna share this scripture. We're gonna talk about spiritual gifts, the unity and diversity of the gifts, how we receive them and how we keep them and how they're distributed to each and every one that receives God. These gifts are real. People know where they come from. People use them for God. Some people have gifts and they don't use them for God. They don't glorify God. But that's neither here nor there. I use the gifts that God gave me to glorify him. Now, as many gifts he gave me and I'm using one right now as of testifying about his word. God saved me from the darkness and brought me to the light. And he did a lot of wonders in my life. So I just wanna share these things and let you know that it's a lot going on. We're gonna take a quick break and we're gonna sum up what we need to sum up before we end this show. I will see you in a minute. We was just talking about next time, we're gonna talk about spiritual gifts, how God gives us spiritual gifts. We talk about what Grace is and what Grace does. We talk about that Grace is given from God and we can't boast in God's Grace and God's Grace is sufficient for one way weak, we're strong, because we can do many things with God's Grace. God gives Grace. They're go Iber for the Grace of God. They wrote songs about it. But when you really experience God's Grace, that's when you can shout about it. God's Grace is real. We talked about what we're gonna be talking about next week about spiritual gifts, because God gave me many gifts and I'm sharing one now on this broadcast. I'm sharing how God gave me gifts, how he gave talents, he gives gifts, people are borrowing gifts. But I just wanna share on what we're gonna do next week as far as gifts and spiritual gifts. We're gonna go over things of God weekly as I get on this show and we talk. I need people to call in to tell me things, to talk to me about what it is that I'm sharing with the listeners. Because God gives everyone a spirit of wisdom, he gives everyone, he gives us our intellect, he gives us knowledge, he gives us a lot of things. And we each can bring something to the table. We each can share and talk to help somebody something that someone might not know. I just love the word of God. I love sharing the word of God. I love singing, I love teaching, I love listening, I love hearing, I love church, I love music, I love, it's everything about God that I love. But it's all due to his grace. It's all due to God's grace. 'Cause without God's grace in his mercy, I don't know where anyone would be. So you've been listening to WBCA 102.9 FM Boston Communities Radio Station.
