Hello everyone, welcome back to the show. I'm your host, Matt, and today my guest is David Rockman, who is from Toronto, Canada, and is the owner of David Rockman, Counseling and Psychotherapy. How are you doing today, David? Excellent. How are you? Doing pretty good. So why don't you tell me a little bit more about you and your business? Of course, I've been impacted some 30 years. I'm an individual, couple, family, counselor, psychotherapist, and mediator. I've worked at some eight greater Toronto area households, most departments in my time, and mostly crisis intervention, mental health, emergency department, and with psychiatry. Although I don't like to psychopath all of those people's emotions, I think that mental health is on the basis of emotional well-being. And yeah, so I'm completely non-judgmental. I have a very busy practice in Toronto, Canada. I do work also internationally online. And yes, so what else would you like to have, or do you want me to just continue on with my approach? Well, how long have you been doing this for? As I said for 30 years, I've been in practice. Ah, yes. So what was the inspiration behind pursuing this profession? Well, I've always been interested in self-development, conscious evolutionary self-development, and helping people in terms of their relationship with themselves and others. And I've worked in mental health for a long time. As I said previously, I think mental health on the basis of people's emotional well-being. And emotional distress is usually based on trauma and emotional attachment wounds and ruptures. So I've always been interested in healing people's trauma. I mean, I've gone through all kinds of things myself, you know, as many of us had. So I've worked pretty efficiently in this field. And I'm just very interested in people's human psychology and development. It's always been fascinating for me. So tell me more about the services you provide and more specifically how those services help out those clients that you have. Well, as I said, I do work with many individuals of all ages and also couples and families. It's amazing since the pandemic how things are exploded in the arena of mental health, especially in a place like Toronto. And many more young men are coming into practice as patients. I haven't seen this before as a phenomenon. In my practice, I mostly had females. I see lots of couples and families as well. So I help many people, not all people, but many people have difficulties with their self-questable self-worth, self-esteem, underlying mental health and emotional distress problems and couples as well. I like doing couple work. I'm not specifically in doing couple work, but I love doing couple work. I work with many couples to heal their relationship. And often couples are projecting their questionable self-worth onto each other. Many people have difficulties with their inner critic. So I help them with that to have a different relationship with their... Many people are having to be transformed and need to transform their relationship with their emotional needs. For example, many people are ashamed of shame. They're threatened by their anger. They misinterpret their grief. And this has a deep impact on their self-worth. So I engage in many different interventions. I'm trained in a wide range of psychotherapy and modalities over the years. So I help people to become much more free in terms of their relationship with themselves and others. Most people, in terms of mental health, emotional well-being, feel that if they can feel loved and feel that they can love others well and that they have intrinsic and extrinsic purpose of life, then they're able to feel more secure in themselves. A lot of mental health problems are because of people's past lineage trauma, family lineage trauma, attachment. So this can be healed succinctly and efficiently. Well, I don't really like the word of simply but proactively in terms of, you know, coming and see someone like me. Well, for anyone out there who's curious and wants to learn more about this, what are some of the best ways to get in touch with you? Well, you can always visit my website, you know, at www.drockmancounseling.ca, right? Or you can call me, you know, plus 1-6-4-7-9-7-5-G-5-0-5. Or you can go on in that. You can bat me on the night. I have very good Google reviews and you can, you know, chat me out. So I've written some interesting subject material on subject, a New York publishing house. And yeah, so I've got, you know, I've got very different blogs on the internet, not too too much, but there's enough for you to bat me well. Read my reviews and you'll see that it's worth coming to visit me. Okay, well, David, I want to thank you for talking with us and sharing some insight into your profession. Of course, my pleasure. All right, we'll take care. You too, have a beautiful day. Same to you. Bye. Bye. And for the rest of our listeners, stay tuned because we'll be back with more after the break.
