Welcome to the Professional Podcast Network, where Brilliant meets business, elevate your brand, and supercharge your revenue with inspiring insights and innovation. Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the show. I'm your host, Matt, and today my guest is Alex Samkow, who is the owner of AS Interiors in Oakville, Ontario. How are you doing today, Alex? I'm doing great. Thank you, Matt. So why don't you tell me a little bit more about what it is you do? Okay, so we are a home-staging and home-decreating company. We really specialize in home-staging, and we try to help homeowners make those properties more up-living to buyers, so they're trying to ensure that they stand out in the market. So we also offer home-decoration, consultations, you know, like, color selection, furniture arrangements, and shopping guidance to help plan through in spaces that are both functional and beautiful, and that they also reflect their personal path. How many years have you been doing this for? We started around by the end of the pandemic, so it would be more around, like, three years ago. And what inspired you to go into this line of work? You know, I've always been passionate about, you know, creativity and the power of spaces and how they influence how we feel and live. I enjoy, like, helping my family and friends feel more comfortable in their homes, like bringing special ideas and how to make spaces more up-living and functional, like, to their lifestyle. Seeing those transformations, you know, how well-defined we can bring. Not just visually, but emotionally, is really, like, you know, through my drive. So helping people love their spaces and feel at home is incredibly rewarding. And that's basically what, you know, inspired me to turn my passion into this business. So, do your clients usually, like, just kind of tell you how they want their homes to be staged or decorated, or do you come up with the design ideas? No, I usually come up with the design ideas. We first go to a consultation, so we walk around the home, we see what needs to be done, I give some advice, you know, in terms of if they need to change the wall colors or if they need to remove some furniture, or add some furniture, or, you know, change some things. So we need to, usually, in home staging, we try to neutralize, to try to get more biased, right? So it's more appealing to a lot of people with something with more neutral than, you know, more personal. Is there anything about you or your business you want our listeners to know about today? I think that, I think I would like listeners to know that, you know, staging and home decor isn't just about aesthetics, like the aesthetics of how they look. I think it's more about creating environments that accept who you are and support how you leave now. Home staging can really affect the outcome of a sale, it increases, you know, the outcome of how much money you may get in the sale, while we're, like, a world decorated home, can possibly change the emotions of the people who live in it, helping them feel more comfortable and connected to their space. So that's also my goal, to help create those spaces, you know, to leave or to sell it. For anyone who wants to learn more, what are some of the best ways to get in touch with you? Yeah, sure. You can go to my website, it's www.asntuscanada.com, or you can also follow me on Instagram @as_ staging on YouTube. Alright, well, I want to thank you again for talking with us today. No, absolutely. Thank you so much for having me. Oh, you're welcome. And take care. Okay, thank you. And to the rest of our listeners, stay tuned, because we'll be back after the break.
