A Wall Street Journal reporter will remain in jail until at least late June in Russia on espionage charges. Evan Gershkovic, a 32-year-old reporter who was detained on espionage charges in March 2023, had his appeal rejected to seek an end to his pre-trial detention. Last month, his arrest was extended until June 30th. And an appeal heard by a Moscow appellate court this week was rejected. Russian authorities have not revealed what evidence they have to support espionage charges against Gershkovic. He and the Wall Street Journal have denied the allegations and the U.S. government has declared him to be wrongfully detained. Gershkovic is the first American reporter to be arrested on espionage charges in Russia since 1986. I'm Haya Pangewani. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to a Russian strike on a TV tower in Harky. "Zalensky says in his Monday night video address, obviously this is an intimidation to make the terror noticeable to the whole city, adding that work is underway to restore the signal." Ukraine's President called the strike an attempt to limit the city in terms of communication and access to information. He then reiterated the urgent need for air defense, naming four priorities in military aid, protection of the sky, modern artillery, long-range capability and ensuring that the American support packages arrive as quickly as possible. I'm Charles Teleterzma. The University of Maine has revealed the world's largest 3D printer.
