For the longest time, I overcomplicated my content workflow to the point where I was so confused with my own strategies that I paralyzed myself into not even making content.
Since then, I've been more consistent than ever, and this is my attempt at helping you not fall into one of the many traps that I have fallen into on my content journey.
these three steps right here, they do not involve a big production team, lots of gear, crazy AI software setups that no one freaking understands. They don't involve you not being yourself and it costs literally two hours per week on average. So stick with me, we're gonna go through this very quickly but very concisely and we'll show you exactly how to get this stuff done, okay? So it all starts with an idea. And everyone says, oh, you know, we need these ideas. What's our ideas for the content? But how do we actually get ideas? And I stumbled across something kind of recently that changed my life when it came to idea making and it was that we just need to look at our week, like what calls did we go on? What meetings did we attend? What things did we learn? What books did we read? What stuff happened to us? Was there any key takeaways, any experiences, any lessons that were able to package up in a certain type of way and give to the world? Is there any of that stuff? Odds are there are if you're existing and actually doing something which if you're watching this channel, I know you are. And what I like to do that's a little bit different from everybody else that does this strategy as I like to post the stuff that I find on X. So on Sunday morning, you'll see just a flood of ideas and random stuff go on my X feed because that's gonna happen. That's gonna help out our next step right here. But what most people do and what I did for the longest time was just put a bulleted list in my notes. So like if there was something that happened on a meeting that I think I could make into content, I'll just make a bullet point of that on an iPhone note, now on my Twitter and just it'll help us with ideas and ideating going forward, okay? So we take our week and then we put it all inside of our notes, okay? Let's step one, first thing on Sunday morning. The timing kind of does matter. I use Sundays, like it's Sunday right now as I'm recording this, it probably will get posted on a Sunday but I do all of this within two hours every single Sunday, okay? Next up is the framework. We need to take our ideas and actually make them into something. I'm gonna be completely honest with you. I'm making drawings over here that make no sense so that you'll look over and see this like Sun thing and this like barbell or whatever that is and don't stress and be like what's he gonna talk about and stay till the end of the video. I'm not hiding anything. That's exactly why I made those bullet points right there. But the HGS actually does mean something. It means hook, goods, and satisfy. So we wanna take our ideas that we got from the week, from the meetings we went on, from our notes, and start to put them into scripts for a short form. So what's the hook? Because if nobody watches past the first three seconds because they were so bored, they're not gonna watch your content and therefore their life is not gonna get changed. I always use the example. If my first five seconds of the video were of a wall watching paint dry and then 30 seconds into the video, I listed my credit card information. No one would ever get to the credit card information because they were so bored watching paint dry on the wall because the hook was so bad. So we got to at least get people in the door and satisfy that dopamine on social media to actually get people to watch. Now, if you rewind back to the beginning of this video, you'll see that like I kinda did this at the beginning. We're like, hey, just so you know, I'm not an idiot and I'm gonna show you how to do this stuff. Well, the idiot comment, you can decide if you think I am or not by the end of the video. But my point here is we need to hook people in at the beginning so they actually watch our stuff. You could have the most valuable video of all time, but if no one watches it because they got bored within the first two seconds and they scrolled or they clicked off the video, it doesn't matter how good your video is or how much time you put it into it if you don't hook them in, okay? The second one, speaking of good, is goods. What are the goods inside of the video? In this video, the goods are the light bulb, the framework and whatever this ends up being. Those are the goods and we need to satisfy the hook. So at the beginning, I said, I'm gonna help you with these three things on how to stay consistent with your content. That was the hook. The goods are the three things and you get to decide, as the viewer, at the end of this video, if it satisfied what you clicked on, which I really hope it did and if it didn't, please let me know in the comments because all I wanna do is just make good content for you guys so if this frickin sucks and you hate it, let me know in the comments but if this is good and you like it, also let me know so I can just get better for next Sunday when I do the same thing over again. So wanna hook people in, make sure that the goods are there, make sure we have a valuable video. So many people nowadays are just trying to do like engagement tactics. There's no substance that actually goes into them. So there's a real market for good stuff and then just make sure that you satisfy what the hook said. If I said, I'm gonna read you my credit card information in this video and then I never read my credit card information, I would be a liar and I don't want you to be a liar. So if you hook people in, make sure you satisfy that need. Okay, sound cool? Third is the filming. Now, it's all in the preparation. So many people think like, oh, like I need to be filming incredibly, I need to have all of these skills on camera. I need to like be able to memorize all this stuff. I need to be so charismatic. I need to have a crazy setup with some crazy gear and lighting and cameras and all this stuff. When in reality, it's preparation over post-production. So like this video, like this is the first take I'm having and there's probably gonna be zero cuts, if not like one or two cuts inside this video. Not because I can just spew all this off the top of my head because I woke up and felt like saying it, but because I put time in descripting this out. I'm like, okay, what am I gonna write on the whiteboard? I'm gonna stand in front of it. What are each of my talking points gonna be? It's not in the filming, it's in the preparation. It's not in the post-production. It's in the preparation. So don't stress because if you got here in your filming, that means you've prepared properly, you've done your market research, you've scripted out all of your stuff. You've got real ideas from real stuff that happened in your real life, okay? It's not that hard. This sun I drew, like I said earlier, to get you to keep watching the video, but it represents the setting. The setting doesn't matter. Setting and preparation, that's supposed to be a wait. So that's exactly what I just talked about right here. The setting and the preparation of the video. Don't stress, you've prepared for it. And just like that guys, there are our three steps in order to stay ridiculously consistent with high quality social media content. Like I said, if you liked the video, let me know in the comments. If you freaking hated the video, also let me know in the comments so I can get better next Sunday when I go do the same stuff that I talk about inside of my videos. Hope you enjoyed.
