11361 Lisa Benoit-12 03 24-Real Estate Agent Trainer-Phill
Hey there everyone and welcome back to the show. This is your host Phil and our next guest with us today is Lisa Benoit, who is based out of Houston and Spring, Texas and her company is called Century 21, Lucky Money, Real Estate. How are you doing today Lisa? Oh good, how are you? Doing wonderful, thank you so much. So Lisa why don't you tell us a little bit more here about your area of expertise. So I own a residential and commercial real estate company here in Houston and Spring area of Texas and my specialty is actually training real estate agents, but my agents, they specialize in selling Lisa doing the commercial and residential business out there and every now and then I'll do a couple of transactions. But what I am very well known for is actually training agents providing structure and actually giving the experienced agents all the support they need to grow their business into brokerages or teams. Hmm, sounds good. How many years have you been doing this all for? I've been, I've been in real estate for 20 years, I've owned my brokerage for just three years. Alright, excellent to hear. So tell us a little bit more here, like what would you attribute all your success to? My kids, apparently my kids motivate me to work a little bit harder, especially having one in college, I have to pay more bills now. But I've gone through a lot of struggles and I think that I've learned that I don't want to struggle anymore. So once I had a couple more kids, I decided I'm just going to work a lot harder and grow my business, but along the way I've been able to help a lot of people. So now I've got grown in my business and become more successful. I've been able to help others along their path with their struggles, grow their business and see them thrive and become successful in their business. So I get to live vicariously through their success too. So I guess the helping others, being an inspiration kind of have become a motivation to me lately. Alright and I bet your kids are inspired by you as well, looking up to you here. Oh, I don't know about all that. I can barely get them to be inspired to eat all their meals and see them. I have two little ones and five and seven and my 18 year olds. I am trying to get him to get his real estate license, but it's like pulling teeth with that one. Yeah, that's around that age, right? Yeah. Okay. And what was it that kind of led you to real estate in the first place? What got you started with everything? Well, 20 years ago it was definitely because of the money, you know, first year into real estate. It did do very well, made six figures, closed a lot of transactions, but when you're young like that and you don't know how to manage your finances, you can lose a lot just the past. I actually stopped for a while, opened up my own restaurant, started a franchise and working the restaurant became very hard, you know, putting in 70, 80, 90 hours a week into your business and not being able to spend time with the family was really difficult. And so I transitioned back into real estate. I can make as much, I can make the same amount of money in real estate in the first two or three months of a year with the less hours than I could for what's making in the restaurant business the entire year after you paid overhead, expenses, all the time calculated, you definitely do much better in real estate if you are consistent with what you do. And if you work hard, I mean, real estate is not easy. And sometimes I think I make it sound a little bit easy, but it is not. It's a lot of work, a lot of time and you've got to learn and educate yourself as time changes, especially with the changing market right now. I'm having to teach my agency, by the way, the market is shifting. So you've got to stay ahead of the game. So that way you're not falling behind. All right, good to know.
