So, no better time to do that as we talk about a lot of different recruiting topics, talk about anything that you might be asking over in the questions, but we know that, hey, it's crazier than ever now that not only are last-minute recruiting pitches being given to a lot of different guys committed and uncommitted, last-minute offers are being given to a lot of the guys committed and uncommitted, just the way recruiting works these days, but it is the way recruiting works these days, so we're going to have to talk about it, Justin, is this maybe one of the crazier ends to a cycle you kind of can recall? I mean, we always talk about 2016 being the one, but I mean, this is the one that's going to be Topsy Turvy, seems like. Yeah, this is going to be a fun ending. This is why everybody's got to pay attention for the next, what, eight or nine days, because this is going to be a fun ending. I think Texas is relatively safe for the most part from getting pillaged, but I do know they still have their eyes on a handful of flip guys, and they're going to stay the course until signing day. I'm not going to say this is one of the craziest ends, because it's been banana sandwich the whole year. Like, honestly, I felt like it's kind of been tempered in the last few weeks. It feels like this entire cycle has been crazy, with unpredictable outcomes, with late offers here, you know, one kid commits and then two hours later flips, like, if that's what's been crazy to me, is I'm ready for the ending, I was talking on threes Chad Simmons this morning. We are ready for the end now, because this entire cycle has been Topsy Turvy turn itself over on itself. I think Texas has a few aces in the hole for signing day, but otherwise, I feel like this could be relatively quiet compared to the whole cycle. Should be an interesting one. Let's go ahead and jump right in to know a big topic everybody wants to know about is Michael Fussusi, you know, we've we've all everybody on this video, you all have checked with y'all sources about the latest with the Lewisville five star offensive tackle. Justin, we'll go, we'll go to you first on this one. You had some communication with him. What's the, where does Texas feel like they're at with Michael Fussusi? You know, Texas shot their shot. That's kind of the impression I'm getting from inside the program right now, from going to visit Justice Terry, from bringing Michael Fussusi on campus last weekend, Texas is shooting their shot with these big guys, trying to get Kate Phillips and Zion Williams to take a trip. That's kind of the, I think the, the, the mantra for this, the recruiting room last couple of weeks. Go ahead and shoot your shot. I think they felt like they did a good job. You know, they've always connected well with Fussusi and his father, his father likes Austin. His mother wasn't with him. To me, that's the biggest tale of them all. He will be with him when they go to college station on Saturday for Texas, Texas A&M. So those ones get another chance, chance to impress on the field. But I'll say this and I'm going to reemphasize this. I think Texas has a shot here, but as long as Bill Beatenball is the offensive coordinator in Oklahoma, or the offensive line coach rather, Michael Fussusi's going to be a sooner. Just the way it is. This kid has been so upfront and honest with us from the start. And that's why I'm so grateful for him and that relationship I have. And he basically laid it out. He loved the way the Texas O'Lan play. He loved how much love the staff was showing him. Just overwhelmingly grateful that he was there and showing him sitting in on offensive meetings with Sark and Floyd and those guys. He loves that stuff. And then getting to watch the offensive line in that fourth quarter, he actually broke down to me eight minutes, 15 consecutive run plays. He thought that was absolutely phenomenal. So Texas did the best they could. But at the end of the day, Oklahoma still has the edge. At the end of the day, Bill Beatenball is still in Norman. And as long as he's there, Michael Fussusi is likely going to sign with Oklahoma. Texas took a big swing. I just don't know if it was a big enough cut. Coach, I'll send this question. Good one from Manuel Soto. I read Fussusi really likes to Norman College vibe, makes me think he would choose A&M over Texas if he flips because of that small-town feel. As far as we can tell, I mean, I don't know too much about Lewisville, but maybe that is a small town that he would like to keep that vibe in. But as far as Texas A&M and recruiting offensive tackles, Fussusi doesn't seem like the one that is kind of trending there. It seems like there's another one maybe on the way to Texas A&M. Maybe. Yeah, maybe. I don't know if that one's holding off the sign of day if he does, I think we got a little about riders there. But as far as the small town, look, most times other than college students and college football players, they're in the facility, I don't know, 12 hours a day, maybe 15 hours a day. It's not much that they get to go out and see the city. Lewisville isn't that big, but it's big enough where people still know who everybody is in the city and the town. So if he does like that small town feel, maybe, Norman, maybe, college station, but your family is the people inside the facility at the end of the day anyway. So outside, outside the facility doesn't really matter as much. I think having options in Austin suits, you know, everybody better if you ask me other than being a small town where you not many places to go, not much to do. And so I don't think it really affects or has an effect on it that much, but it could. It just, everybody's different. I don't know what we talked about at the very top. And again, this is not to say that NIL is the leading factor in this recruitment. I don't think we've gotten that sense, but it's a factor in the recruitment of five stars. It's a factor. It's a factor in the recruitment of five stars just across the waters and then the other main factor that we feel like has been hammered home is early playing time. Right now, you know, obviously, I think when we looked at Texas in early playing time in 2025, we're kind of like, well, Calvin Banks will be gone. But what happens with, you know, Cam Williams is getting some positive returns from some draft sites. Who knows what he decides to do? Maybe people think Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker and maybe anybody else like that, Andre Kojo, Malik Gagbo, that depth chart would preclude immediate playing time. But guys, a five star. So I don't know, obviously, you know, you look at the Oklahoma offensive line this past year, though they did do some work against Alabama and see that there is some opportunity there. And that's not to say there's zero opportunity in Austin, I feel like. But you know, there seems to be an easier path to the field for Fissusi in Norman. And by the way, you know, he's built a connection with, with Bill Beatenball. Like we talk about commitments and all that, Texas is trying to flip him, obviously, Oklahoma earned that commitment. That's to the credit of Beatenball to, I guess it's to Joe John Finley in, in, in, in the Brit Venables for not taking away his scholarship after he had said in a press conference that if you take trips to somewhere else, you're not committed. I think Brit Venables bit his tongue. And I think Beatenball sent him one of those really mad emoji symbols when he said that out because you don't talk about Michael Fissusi like that, especially passive aggressive. Every coach, every staff in the country thinks that, yeah, most not all of them are smart enough not to say it publicly. Exactly. And also look at this from an analytical standpoint real quick, Texas knows if they, if they do flip Fissusi and they would, and they would love that they would, they would, they would welcome that. They're going to have to sink a lot of salary into that one, which they're trying to also appropriate with 2026, five star offensive tackle John Turntine, who Texas is in a fabulous spot with that our Charlie Williams has been covering coast to coast. So there are so many little factors that build up to this. So it's not just one or the other. And as the guys were saying, A&M actually was the runner up in this, in this recruitment. I've had two sources tell me he would have chosen A&M if it wouldn't have been for Oklahoma. So there's a lot of things there, but you got to give Texas credit for at least shooting their shot. And to that other point, maybe a topic for another video, they got guys they need to keep. So retention, baby. Yeah. Half half of NIL is retention. That's the R word more important than recruiting, basically. Yes, sir. So we'll keep on going first. Got to give some love to our sponsor today. That is game time guys, it is a, it is a pretty penny to get in this game. I think there's some records that as far as, you know, just get in the door prices, approaching a thousand dollars, some lower bowl ones. I don't even want to know. But if you want to know, you go to gametime.co or use the game time app, use promo code on three, you get the all in pricing. So you don't have to look at the price and then get fees on it after. You don't have to worry about that. You can see from where in Kyle Field, if you want to go where your vantage will be. I'm excited. Justin, you're not going to get to see that for the first time, I think, since the renovation. So it should be fun, but if you want to get an opportunity to go and you can get 20 dollars off that purchase, there's a promo code on three on the game time app or on gametime.co. Of course, terms apply on three, oh, in three, 20 dollars off your first purchase, the time is it guys, it is game time. Get this off. I did see, we did want to talk about one more guy that visited Texas for the Kentucky game, just to kind of, I guess, take this one out of the oven, take this one out of the toaster. Jamie French was someone who made a visit Florida, and we're going to be talking a lot about the Gators. Florida is someone who made a run at him, but Charlie, they got French on campus, got them back, and he, I think he said that he spent some time with some other wide receiver commits. Yeah, look, that's what he did on campus, back to campus a few times. Every time they get together with all the other commits, man, they have a good time. But they're really a close group in this 25 class, and so him coming back, been around, you know, larger boys and others who were committed in the class. Yeah, and so it's, it's, it's, it's wonderful to see him back on campus after taking visits elsewhere, right? And everybody's going to shoot their shot at the top receiver like that. You can't blame Florida for trying, but I just feel like, you know, Texas, Austin, Texas home, and I think he said that, you know, so long ago back in April, when I talked to him, like he was really feeling Austin, and they thought that's the place he could stay outside of football. And you get kids talking like that and see the bigger picture for the year decision versus four years decision, and it really stands out to me. So I think Texas is going to be home for him. And a big note on French to add, I caught up with him Saturday morning as he was coming into the stadium. You know, when he left that official visit on last weekend, last Sunday, we actually talked to him that night, and he had mentioned a hundred things that he thought Florida was, was, was, was building towards, you know, playing with lagway, playing with his quarterback in high school, Tramel Jones, playing with some of his seven on seven teammates, being closer to home. And then he said something that changed the entire conversation, but something doesn't feel right. And I thought that's doubt and 24 hours later, he had already talked to Chris Jackson and already set up another visit to Austin. He thought he needed to be closer to home, but Texas convinced him, y'all are already home. Austin's where he's going to be and he'll be enrolling in January. I know I mentioned stuff that seems like it's on the periphery all the time. And I know that for Jamie French, Jacksonville to Gainesville is a drive. But man, when you're in Austin and you can fly out of Jacksonville and fly to Austin and be there instead of having to fly to, I don't know, you have to. Yeah. Instead of having to get in a car and then get in a flight, it is an advantage. And I think that's what Texas is trying to take some advantage of. That's something that he expresses from Arch Manning. He loves his teammate, Tramel Jones. They are good buddies. They're going to be friends for the rest of their lives. Yeah. He's going to get an opportunity to catch a ball from a manning. That has its own price. Got some more Florida related recruiting stuff. Let's go through a few questions. Got a good one from Kenneth Cassidy. Any word from Nick Townsend must hold on to them. No one in this market has the info on the Townsend recruitment like Eric Malene. He has not sounded a single alarm bell. Is that on Texas A&M? But this is a player Texas knows the value of and I don't, is there even, I mean, maybe A&M, he's a, he's a numbers buster for them. Like he probably is it Texas, but I think, I don't think there's much to see here Justin Charlie. No. I don't believe so. I think A&M like you said, they're, they're, they were trying to push as much as they could. This Texas, Texas A&M games not going to have any bearing on it. I think Texas and, and Townsend make a lot of sense. Then again, like you said, Eric's been on this one, like there was something awry. We would have heard from the coaching staff. We would have heard from the surf towns and circle. I think they're locked in, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I was smart. If Nick, I would, I'd, I'd try to get a ticket to that Texas A&M game, like a lot of recruits are trying to get tickets for, and he won't have to go through game time, but if he did, that's where he'd go. And so I think Townsend and Texas are safe, but then again, there's eight days. So you got to watch all the angles. Like this one, Craig Johnson, who has the higher upside, turntine or fusi Charlie? This one's on you. Yeah. Look, that's, that's tough. Look, turntine, he's probably won the best office a lot, but I've seen it a long time. I feel like he's ready to go fusi. It's like, he's a pop star for a reason. I've got a chance to see him live in action. We got to see him at the underarm and camp other places, uh, it changed with a former long-going D-hawk. Like fusi can step in and play like right away. He's good, right? And turntine has another year to grow. So we'll see, but, um, higher upside, I don't know man, there are two excellent prospects who they can start to get the side, put one to left tackle, put one to the right tackle, and you got two of the best tackles in the nation. I'm with that one. Uh, you know, this is a good one, and it's something we'll probably start looking at. Callie, when is the portal open the night or a little bit way? Will we lose any meaningful role players back up to the portal before the playoffs? I feel like Texas and, you know, correct me if I'm wrong, if there's anybody who is considering it, they'll be like, Hey guys, wait, we have a playoff run. And if they're work, if they're playing, they know it's probably better for them to be in a playoff run. Texas is going to have all the means they need in order to retain guys that they want. I feel like we're not going to see anybody in less, you know, something crazy, and hey, anything crazy can happen, but like meaningful role players, here's the thing. We can talk about NIL and the best deal and all they want, but like these guys are competitors. They like winning. They like trophies. They like accolades, like they're competitors on the field. Why would you give up a chance at, you know, they came here to play in these games? Yes. Exactly. So before the playoffs, you know, unless something crazy happens, but hey, something crazy could definitely happen. We're going to have to track the colleague, tracking the portal. Oh boy. I forgot about how much fun that is. Speaking of portal, a couple of people asking about Jaheem Otis, he entered the portal. I think after Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, you know, I look at that and I see a guy who if he didn't like playing time in the amount of snaps, he was getting at a previous place. What's going to happen when he maybe doesn't get to playing time, he wants it to next place. Annie's battling injury, I mean, here, Justin, they're going to look at defensive tackle for sure. Yes. In the portal, Otis may be a name they look at, but they're going to give the evaluation process. I feel like as much time as they possibly can when it comes to defensive tackles in the portal. And that's what Steve's occasion does. He'll go best player available on you quickly. And so Otis is going to be one they consider, but they're also going to look at consider the body of work, they're going to consider his entries, they're going to consider the point, the fact that he couldn't start, they're going to consider all those things. And just because he couldn't start there doesn't necessarily, it's not a detriment to him, but there's some other factors that are going to have to be looked at. And they've got three in this 2025 cycle. They want one more. If they don't sign one more on December 4th, they're probably going to have to add even another portal guy. They're going to turn over rocks, but they're going to be judicious. But if we've learned anything about Sark in the portal, it's huge evaluations. Like he is particular on players you think, "Oh, Texas is going to go after the guy. Not if he doesn't fit. They have a culture that isn't steeled right now. Four years ago, they would take some fires, some free agent type guys. They're not doing that now. They're going to be so particular, but who they lit on this roster, especially going into next season." And just because he's at Bama, you can't always mind. Those options. I feel like that's also starting to run dry. I mean, if they weren't there, would Otis still be on that roster? I'm going to say no. No. Yeah. There's some different things to play. And I'll touch on this one. We'll talk about one more Florida prospect, but the baseball, if you all saw, I think they-- I actually talked to this kid last night. They landed a commitment from the number one prospect, a shortstop from Argyll. Does he make it to Texas five years ago? I'd say no. But now, with NIL being a thing, maybe I would still bet on the MLB draft, just sight unseen. I haven't talked to the kid, haven't checked in with baseball people in a little bit. But five years ago, no, he's probably taking that big signing bonus. But now we notice, maybe NIL changes how he thinks things. I actually asked Grady Emerson about this, and this is the number one shortstop in the country out of Argyll. I asked him, how is the draft going to affect your decision going forward? He said, I'm not looking that far ahead. I'm worried about right now, getting better right now, and being the best baseball player I can be for the Texas baseball program. He's saying all the right things, but yeah, he's going to be one. We'll worry about that in about 18 months. Hey, I'm glad he's taking it that way. Yeah. Oh, he had a very, very-- it was a good conversation, very level-headed kid. Not a kid that you would just automatically assume, hey, he's jumping to MLB, which if he goes in the first round, you don't blame him. That's what he does. That's what you play baseball for as a kid, to get to that point. But again, he's like, I'm not looking that far ahead. I'm worried about tomorrow, and I'm worried about being the best baseball player I can for Texas. To me, that's probably why Jim Schloss and Eagle, Noah Kane, Drew Bishop, 2-2-0. That's a machine of recruiting, and there's no doubt why Emerson flipped. Back to the grid iron, we got to talk about Myron Charles. That seems to be the big fight that Texas has, Port Charlotte, Florida defensive tackle. I think he's a top 100 guy by on three. Yeah. They needed a recruit in this cycle for Texas, and Florida's coming after him. And Florida, Justin, you've kind of talked about, might not mind if he goes to Tallahassee, but Florida definitely wants to try amidst the holiday weekend to get Myron Charles back in Gainesville and put their best foot forward in trying to flip the Texas pledge yet again. Florida's still pushing. They're not letting up. I think they cut bait with Jamie Fringe, because they realized they weren't reeling that one in. But they're still putting out hooks for Myron Charles. There's a chance he could pop up at the Tallahassee for the Florida Florida State game, which would be ironic considering he'd committed from Florida State. And then there's a chance they're going to try to get him in on that Sunday, right before the start of the dead period, to just give him one final pitch, one final push. But talking to a couple sources at Texas about Charles yesterday, it seems him coming into Austin last weekend made them feel a lot better and made the family feel a lot better. And Charles understands not only how much he's needed and desired in Austin, that there's a reason he flipped to Texas. It's those relationships. It's the program. It's the thing as a whole. And so as long as Charles, we don't see him pop in Gainesville or Tallahassee on Saturday and Sunday. And even then I think it would be an uphill battle for Florida. But if he does pop in there, I think Texas did a wonderful job of basically letting him know, look, this is what we think about you. This is how much we need you, you're this priority. And he did have a great time this weekend in Austin. Charlie, how weird is it to maybe see a school encourage a player to be like, yeah, come check us out, even though it's a road game, school you were once committed to. It's weird. That's very rare. I haven't seen that, but Florida just wants another chance to showcase what they can do upfront. They know they got a good opponent. So when they might go out and dominate, so they want to go, they want him to see another good look. And they're slipping before the state commits, like it's their job. Yeah. Yeah. They are. And so it was can run. Good running back that was getting the handoffs from Dabelle. Yeah. So that's what they want. That's a weird situation than do it. But hey, whatever it takes, this recruiting man, there's no rules or regulations for the most part. Do what you got to do to try to win a kid over. Like this question, going through a few more before we get out of here, December 4th is the day for the commits. It is the day. That's when they'll most likely all sign. The one thing to watch is that it's a two day signing window. So there's a chance these schools have like a Thursday signing day. Most of these kids are going to probably sign and send in their form on that Wednesday, no matter what they're-- Not more than they're told to. Yeah. Some sleep in, as we remember from last year. Oh, I forgot about that last year. Oh my God. I think I woke him up. I remember from St. Louis University High. So you, you know, some guys sleep through their alarms. It happens. Heck, I've slept through my alarm on signing day before. So I understand this. Hey, Texas could get a commitment on December 4th. That's something we need to just throw out there real quick. Michael Terry III, it looks like he's actually going to take his decision to signing day. He had kept telling us he's closer. He's closer. He's closer. But overall, he kind of had a premise that I want to do it on signing day. That would be a big one for Texas to reel in the five star number one athlete in the country. They still look like they're in a great spot, Nebraska is not letting up. They're actually getting kind of hot down the stretch, but I still think the horns look good. So December 4th could actually be a day that Texas lands one of their biggest commitments. Have we heard much about Nate Marshall, Chicago area edge, who made his way into edge, right? Who made his way? I think he's an edge, but he's, I mean, because he's so long. I saw him in, I saw him in the facility after the game. That kid is long and skinny and he almost looks like a basketball prospect. He's not, that's not necessarily look like a football one. I'm trying to get a little bit of background on that one. Auburn is very aware and they're doing whatever they can to retaining, but getting some news out of him has been difficult for us, not just us, but also the on three network. Apparently Marshall is not the most talkative kid. Charlie, you can't say turn time. I know we answer this because we know the answer is turn time. So what's the next answer? I know it. What's the most, the second most excited you are about the 2026 class? Come on, Charlie. I mean, come on now that's not fair, but you know, I like you win in the trenches. And, you know, maybe they can build a great wall of China and go north to Dallas to Prosper and give a man is that encrypting because I love that in a lot. I think he's, he's been on campus a few times. He got to hang out with Michael Sousie this past Saturday too. So just talking to him. I know he loves coach, Count Flood. And so it's time to bring in some more big, I thought, oh man, the trenches, the trenches always wins for me. And so that would be my pit. And there's, there's good tackles. You got Felix Ojo. You got turns on. You got Max Wright, who was also on campus. You've got. There's some really good offensive tackles where Texas is not going to have to go very far for campus to, to grab those, but I'm going to throw the one at you that you should have said. When you bring up the meat upstairs, you got to have the, the guy that scoots in the background and that's Fabian Osborne and that's the guy I'm the most excited about. That's a Texas, Michigan battle. They are going round for round for that guy and Osborne is a difference maker. That's my most excited. Build that line, Charlie. And I'll try to deliver the teller. There they go. I think Charlie's answer kind of delivers the, the answer to this one day. He told us he was hoping he would commit. What told him he would wish he committed Saturday? Yeah. And then I live in rent free in UT as mine after watching a couple of his games and seeing what he can do. I, he, I'm trying to think of what deal looks like the six, four version of KJ Lacey. He's a bigger, stronger, more athletic version of the 2025 quarterback commit KJ Lacey. I know there's better comps. But if you kind of look at him stylistically, he looks like KJ 10 years older. And then this one, the OG, the offensive guard from Ulysses, he's a, a Toa, Katoa, and hey, we need to really dig in that, you know, I, I feel like we do this every year, almost every year, but that 2026 align group, there's some, there's some dudes that we need to take care of and pay attention to, even in Midland, I forget his, his, he's another Polynesian name that I'm. Primus. Primus. Primus. Yeah. So they, there's, there are offensive linemen all over the state, literally, the cycle was low Joe in 2025. There's some talented guys in Texas. It's not like 2026. They're going to go four star and above on basically every take if you stay in state on this offensive line class. Yeah. Texas had the big three with Rogers, Haywood, Susie, as far as in state, but you know, they're good players, but they're not as many guys we perceive to be great players already. And I think last thing, any North Carolina Commits, Texas, may go after, I looked through the list and the only Bryce Baker. Yeah. I mean, you're going to go after series and, and, and, and Nashville. Really nice kid, really nice parents, big kid. That's a big drink of water. Yeah. You had to give KJ Lacey a boost just to get up to his height, but I got to tell you they're happy with Lacey. But if I had one I would take, it would be, it would be Baker. I think he's the only one, any, in light of Max coaching career, likely being over any good recruiting stories that you can kind of off the cuff, remember either of you? Good. Good recruiting stories. Oh, man, some, I, I can't say that out loud. There's a few they pay, they may have to just come to inside Texas.com and ask because I, I don't feel, I don't feel comfortable saying some of this on the, on live YouTube. But they're, they're eight. Mac Brown was the master when it came to closing, came to recruiting, came to early evaluations. He was so good at it early on, kind of petered off a little towards the end of his Texas run. But man, just, just salute Mac Brown. What he did for Texas was huge and, and, and Steve Sarkeesian's trying to follow up that standard. Yeah. I don't know. That has stories for that. Yeah. Just remember the side of the victory, right? All of them calling each other. Roy, you coming? Cause I'm coming. You got BJ, then you got slong. Just, it's just that, that group. I was special other than that. It's tough man. Mac was just, he was awesome, man. I'd say, I think we should recruit Mac. Hey, can we be the fundraiser company in a, in a hell of a gun. Analyst. I think we should get. Come on. Texas offensive analyst Mac Brown. Hey. Pick it into existence. Yeah. Recruit Mac. That's someone who probably got the mo, he didn't always get the most out of Texas, but he did at one point get the most out of Texas. Yeah. And he very much got the most out of North Carolina. Like, yeah. A guy. And they're treating him like a dirty dog. You let that man ride off in the sunset with Sally in a bag of cookies. You don't fire Mac Brown, unless you were Texas in 2012, but still, 13, rather, you don't do that in, see, he came back to love you and actually brought some talented guys with you. They've got one of those party backs in the country. No, Mary and Hampton. That guy's going to play on Sundays. Like, they got some dudes there, they should have let Mac walk off in the sunset the right way. Well, they, he's got a chance to do something extremely petty to Dave Dorn in North Carolina State this weekend. And I can, I'm, that's, I'll keep an eye on that one, just because I want to see the, the kids, great kids from great families carry Mac off the field. I can't remember if that one's in Raleigh or Chapel Hill, but we'll keep an eye on it. It won't matter. Mac's going to rally the dogs, but he's going to tell them all or all the heels. He's going to tell them all. Listen, this, this game should scare you to death and it is what it is. But if we turn, get the, when the turnover margin, we got a chance. With that. Hey, we got, if you want the Mac Brown stories, the fun ones, maybe some not so fun ones. But anything, especially recruiting Intel, as we get closer and closer to signing day.
