Brad and John - Mornings on KISM
top 3 fast food
We told you Dick's drive in coming to Bellingham tomorrow. They're going to be at Yager sporty goods between noon and three. Oh, it's really nice earlier this morning to talk to Danny. She's from the Spady family. She got a week to try to twist her arm and get her to build it in Bellingham and they will come here. She would like to do that, but we'll see if that happens. Anyways, noon to three at Yager's tomorrow, the Dick's truck will be there and KISM, I'll be out there from three to five at Yager's as they have their all day sale going on. Yager's sporting goods. So we have, because Dick's is coming to town, top three fast food restaurants, I would drive out of my way to hit. So in other words, these are, these are not restaurants that you have like really close to you. You got to put some miles on your car to get to them. You get time to digest it on the way back. One, two and three, Brad. I went first yesterday. Oh, you want me to go first? Okay. I'm going to start. I will start with Dick's because I don't have you, you're, you're closer to a Dick's drive and then I am. I do have to drive about an hour to get to to Dick's drive in Edmonds. I guess it's the closest one to me. They said they're opening in South Evertough. There were a number of times when, you know, I get off the plane at SeaTac and I'd start heading north and and I'd make a, I make an exit and hit one of the Dick's drive ins. There have been several times Terence come home from Seattle. I stopped and got so right at home. Dick's is number one for me. Number two is another one that I, I used to hit when I would get off the plane in, in Phoenix. It was in and out. And that, I would find one of those things before I would go do anything was in and out burger. And number three on the list now they, there are two locations in the state of Washington. There were a number of them where I grew up back in Wisconsin. And I missed these, these places, the Taco John's. Taco John's. Yes. Never been to one. Yeah, it's um, I would say it's, it's comparable in quality to taco time. The shell is a little different and all that. But for me, it's more of a, it's a throwback to my youth. And so when I go back to Wisconsin, I always try to hit a Taco John's. They've got one in Moses Lake and they have one in Spokane. Taco John. So my one, two, three are dicks in and out. And Taco John's my top three fast food joints. I would drive out of my way to go to one of them is in Yakima. And it's a place called miners burgers. And the burgers are absolutely huge. My son Brandon had a couple basketball tournaments over in Yakovagus. And we go there as a team and stuff. And it is absolutely crazy, the size of the portions. And it just brings back some good memories. So miners burgers would be my number one, my number two, kind of an a nostalgic thing for me too. I don't always order fish and chips. But there's something about going down to Ivers on, on, on, on North, the Lake Union there. Yeah. And, and getting some chowder and I just picture sitting there with my dad and stuff. So I'll give you miners. Ivers number two. And third, there's a place up on Fenny Ridge called Red Mill Burgers. And when it's a tiny little shack up kind of by the zoo and stuff. But you walk in there and they have a stack of bacon, John, they must have started cooking bacon at four in the morning or something. But it's a foot and a half high. And so when you order a burger there, it's, it's just great. I can't really explain. Yeah, I heard a lot of people talk about that place. Yeah, that, that, that, that is a, I hear great things about that one. I got to hit that. All right, Brad, you want to want to get some one, two, three's from the listeners? Yeah, yeah. Okay. Let's see. Ian Texas. Ian says Taco John's Scotty's drive in and raise burgers. Ian is out of Granite Falls. Scotty's, you know that? No, raise burgers. Let us know where that some of these places raises in Everett. Okay. That mistake. Uh, Jody in Linwood says in and out, uh, Kaiser, Oregon, the now close triple X root beer in Issaquah. Ah, yeah, that was good. And Frugal and Port Angeles. Her one, two, three. Daryl has house driving in Seadrill, Woolley, burger master in Mount Vernon. I've heard, I've heard both things about burger master. I haven't done that yet. And, uh, taco time, a taco. There's a lot of taco times around. Um, there was a thing about best burgers in the Northwest. I think it mentioned the net burger, down in, uh, West Mount Vernon. It was a big publication that they were in the top five or six. What about our Canadian listeners? When you come across the border, do you have, do you have a one, two, three that, that you try to hit? Someone said Kid Valley. Wendy said Kid Valley. Ah, that's good stuff. Let's get a Canadian listen here. Brad and jog a morning. Yeah. Um, well, I don't know if it's fast food, but down in Kent, Washington, right beside the Amazon place is a place called, they see their, uh, Pete's barbecue or barbecue beats. This place is amazing. We discovered it. Now we're from Abbot Street, Canada. So my daughter had braces on and she had this big contraption interface. We said, what do you want when you get this thing removed out of your face? I think it was called an expander and it looked like, it looked like mountain bike shocks in her, in her mouth. It just seems crazy. And she says, we want to go to Pete's. So after that, she gets it off. We're like, where are we going for lunch? I didn't even get that out of my mouth. And she goes, barbecue Pete. So we did the two hour pilgrimage down to Pete's. Ah, good dad. Good dad. Oh, it's still good. So Pete, so this is a standalone, not a food truck. No, I think it's, I think it's just on the corner. I don't know what, I don't know what the name of the street is down there. But if you find that big, um, okay, the big Amazon warehouse down there, whatever is called barbecue, Pete's or Pete's barbecue award-winning barbecue. They know how I'm going to go see it. Good recommend. All right. You got it. Later. Thanks. 3607335476, Terry says there used to be a taco, John's in Linwood says, I don't know if it's still there. It's on 196 towards, towards 99. I don't think so, because I, I was on their locator map yesterday. And I, the only two I saw in the state were in Moses Lake and Spokane. Steve bomber, billionaire owner of the Los Angeles Clippers is listening this morning. Oh no, that's Steve bomber from Greensville, South Carolina. Sorry. He says, miners driving in Yakima. Godfather's pizza and what actually they used to be. They used to be everywhere. But now there's just limited locations, maybe one in do it. The guy with the hat and buckies truck stop in mini-mart. Okay. 3607335476. Text him in here. This morning, email Brad and John at kism.com. You're one, two, three. Today's top three fast food restaurants. You go out of your way to hit Brad and John coming back. K. I. S. M.
