AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. The Supreme Court seemed highly skeptical of former President Trump's claim of absolute immunity from prosecution, hearing arguments today over the federal election subversion case. Just as Elena Kagan questioned Trump attorney, John Sauer. "Let's say this president who ordered the military to stage a coup. He's no longer president. He wasn't a PhD. He couldn't be impeached. But he ordered the military to stage a coup, and you're saying that's an official act." "I think it would depend on the circumstances where there was an official act." It's possible Trump could still benefit from a lengthy trial delay, with two justices suggesting lower courts might have to sort out details. Trump himself was at his hush money trial in New York at Donahue on today's session. A former tabloid publisher testified he scooped up possibly damaging stories to shield his old friend. David Pecker says he paid out tens of thousands of dollars to keep those stories from the public eye. But when it came to the steamy claims by porn performer Stormy Daniels, Pecker said he put his foot down. The testimony is a critical building block. For the prosecution's theory, the Trump-Pecker partnership was a way to illegally influence the 2016 presidential election. Once the session wrapped up, Donald Trump said, "Today was breathtaking that this room was on. It was breathtaking, and amazing testimony." Stormy Daniels was eventually paid by then-Trump attorney and fixer Michael Cohen to keep quiet over her claim of a 2006 sexual encounter with Trump. The former president denies it happened. I'm at Donahue. New York's highest court has overturned Harvey Weinstein's 2020 rape conviction in order to new trial. The University of Southern California has canceled its main graduation ceremony, his campus protests against the Israel Hamas War continue to spread. An economic growth slowed sharply last quarter to a 1.6 percent annual pace. This is AP News. More playoffs this evening. Three games in the NBA cleaved it up to nothing at Orlando, the Knicks in Philadelphia, and the Nuggets and Lakers in LA. Two games in the NHL, Florida's Panthers up to nothing at Tampa Bay, and Carolina up to nothing on the Islanders. Last night, the Bruins grabbed the edge and Toronto, John Leatherby was there. That Marshans pair of third period goals led the Boston Bruins to a 4-2 win over Toronto at Scotia Bank Arena. Marshans scored the goal ahead, an eventual game winner. 28 seconds after Tyler Gertuzzi tied the game for the Leafs at 2. Marshans sealed the victory, scoring into an empty net with 36 seconds remaining. "We were trying to get as much power play time out of that last minute so you can kind of see that we were in attack and we just kept cycling back. We were trying to run that clock down as much as we could." Jake Dabraskin, Trent Frederick, also telling for Boston as Jeremy Swamin made 28 saves in the victory. Game 4 is Saturday night. John Leatherby, tour model. And I'm Ben Thomas, AP News. Thanks for listening. Why pay more for a separate CoQ10 supplement?
