Five Dangers of Unforgiveness
And I call this greater, I call this stronger. God, you are higher than any other. And I call this healer. He's awesome in power. I got singing with me, cheers. I got, and I call this greater, and I call this stronger. God, you are higher than any other. And I call this healer. He's awesome in power. I got-- if I got as far as singing, and if I got as far as who could ever stop us, and if I got it with us, what could stand against? And if I got as far as what could ever stop us, and if I got it with us, what could stand against? What could stand against? What do you turn? Come on. What do you turn into, I open the eyes of the blind. There's no one like you. Thank you, Jesus. None like you. Into the darkness, and into the darkness you shine. Out of the ashes, out of the ashes, we rise. There's no one like you. Thank you, Holy Ghost. None like you. I call this greater, and I call this greater. I call this stronger. God, you are higher than any other. And I call this healer. He's awesome in power. I got-- Father God, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. May in past Amy, we join our faith, which are wonderful people, turning into this broadcast on this morning, minister to them, strengthen them, encourage them, work in their lives, work in their relationships with each other. And Father God, if there is anything in any of us that is hindering us from drawing closer to you, wash us in your blood, cleanse us, sanctify us, clean us up, get us ready, God. We say, not our will, but let your perfect will be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Good morning, Saints of the Most High. So glad to be back with you on this morning. As we continue our broadcast on this morning, we are talking about five dangers of unforgiveness. There are five dangers of unforgiveness. I want to talk about them this morning. Very serious stuff. Preach a whole message on this past Sunday about unforgiveness, a major roadblock to answered prayer. Listen to me. Whenever you can, go listen to that message. If the service is too long, just fast forward the service right to the message, because I believe you need to hear it. Now, let's jump into the Word of God. Let's go to the book of 1 John chapter 2, verse 8 through 11. John said again, he's quoting Jesus. John, the apostle John, 1 John chapter 2, verse 8 through 11. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness is past and the true light now shining. Watch this. He, that said, whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness even until now. John said, if you claim to be a Holy Ghost Christian, if you just claim to be a Christian, and you claim that you are in the light and you hate your brother, John said you are in darkness even until now. Then he says, he that loveth his brother abides in the light. The person who's walking in the love of God. That person is walking in the light. And John said there is none occasion of stumbling in him. I'm sorry, stuff like that gets my attention. If you walk in the love of God, John, the apostle John is saying, you are going to be someone who will not stumble, you will not fall, you will not backslide. That's powerful stuff, y'all. Then he says in verse 11, but he that hated his brother is in darkness and walketh in darkness and knows not where he is going because that darkness has blinded his eyes. Let's go into the five dangers of unforgiveness. The first thing John says is he that hates his brother is in darkness even until now. The first danger of unforgiveness is you are in darkness. If you are a person who's clinging to hate and bitterness and unforgiveness, the apostle John said you are literally in real darkness. The second danger of unforgiveness is this. John said not only that you are living in darkness, but John says in verse 11, he that hates his brother is in darkness and walketh in darkness. You know what that represents? Walking in darkness, the second thing it represents is you're making no progress. You're doing all kinds of stuff, but your spiritual walk with God is not, you are not growing, you are not developing, you are not going higher in God. There is no progress. So the first danger is you are in darkness, present tense. He said he that hates his brother is in darkness. You're not in the light. The word of God is not gonna make sense to you because you are in darkness. Not only that, he said and then not only are you in darkness, but you walk in in darkness. Walking supposed to represent progress, movement, but guess what? He said you moving, but you're making no progress. There's no growth, everything is shut down, no prayers being answered. You are in a mass amount of confusion, are you listening? Now of course we know there are times the enemy can attack us and try to confuse us, but I'm talking about someone who is in a massive amount of confusion because they're hanging on the bitterness. Bitterness and unforgiveness brings you in nothing, but pure darkness I've been there. I'm guilty of it, lived it. I've done it, that's why I preach about it and use myself in this example this past Sunday. None of us are perfect. None of us are above, are you listening to me? We can make mistakes, but he is able to forgive us. But watch this, I want you to go, I want to go to the third danger. John said verse 11, but he that hated his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness. The third thing is this, and knows not where he's going. This is the third danger of unforgiveness and bitterness. You don't know where you are going, which means there's no sense of direction. There's no light on your path. You don't know which direction your life should be going in or moving in. You just become confused and flustered and listened to me good. There's no sense of direction. You are looking for direction, but you can't find it. These are the five danger I've already listed three of them. Present tense, you are in darkness. The second one is you're walking, but don't know when you're making no progress. The third thing about unforgiveness and bitterness is there's no sense of direction. Trust me, you don't want to be there. Have you ever been in a place where your GPS failed, you're in quint working for a couple of minutes, you were lost, you were frustrated, you wanted to break yourself, oh, come on somebody. You ever been in a place that just, you lost all the signal and nothings where you just out of law and just how flustered you were. That is what happens to you spiritually when you hang on to unforgiveness and bitterness. Not only goes just trying to help somebody, I preach a whole message on this on Sunday, but God wanted me to point out different aspects of this unforgiveness. Let's move on to the fourth thing about the thought danger of unforgiveness. Notice what he says in verse 11, but he that hates his brother is in darkness and walk, and remember, is in darkness his present tense, walk in darkness making no progress. Doesn't not know where he's gone, there's no sense of direction. Notice what he says because darkness has blinded his eyes. He's just, he's blind. That's the fourth danger of unforgiveness. You become spiritually blind. You can't see anything you are, I mean, you are literally out of loss. You become ignorant. You become insensitive. Can't hear the voice of God. That's what happened to us all, blind, blind, blind. Blind, you can't, you can't see anything. You become spiritually blind. This is man, I'm sorry y'all. That's enough to make somebody want to get on their knees. Amen, you become spiritually blind. Are you listening to me? Are you hearing me? Watch this, the fifth thing about the fifth danger of unforgiveness is your prayers will not be answered. Your prayers will not be answered. Jesus said these words in Mark chapter 11, verse 25. He says, and when you stand praying, forgive if you have ought against any, that your father, also which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses. He said, when you are praying, he says, if you have ought against somebody, you better forgive them. 'Cause verse 26, he says, but if you do not forgive, neither will your father, which is in heaven, forgive your trespasses. And David said in Psalms chapter 66 verse 18, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. If you hold on to unforgiveness and bitterness, your prayers will not be answered. God wouldn't even hear your prayer. Five things, five dangers of unforgiveness. You are currently in darkness, present tense. You're walking in darkness, second thing, which represents you, not making any progress. The third thing is you don't know where you are going. There's no sense of direction. The third thing is you become spiritually blind. You can't even see or discern spiritual things. You can't see, you just blinded. The fifth thing is your prayers will not be answered. I want you to bow your head in humility and say, God forgive me, forgive me for hanging on to bitterness, unforgiveness, harboring hatred in my heart. God forgive me, wash me in your blood. Wash me in your blood, Lord Jesus. God and those who I've been holding a grudge against, I forgive them, Lord. I release them. They did me wrong and they hurt me, but I release them, God. I release them. I place them at the foot of the cross in the name of Jesus Christ. Somebody say, amen. Do whatever you gotta do. To avoid these five dangers of unforgiveness. The Lord loves you and he cares about you. He wants to answer your prayer and that's why the Holy Spirit helped me talk about this on this morning. Amen.
