there's a big game tonight. Big game tonight. Lions hosting the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night football. And I don't want to oversell this or be hyperbolic. But this is a really big game. It's a really big game. Not only is it a divisional game, but it's a game within the NFC and the Lions still control their own destiny as we are on Thursday. And they are on the trajectory. They have currently the the sitting position on the pole where they are the leaders in the NFC, which means you get a first round by in the playoffs. You are home field advantage throughout the playoffs. It's a huge, huge benefit if the Lions were to stay in the position that they are. But other teams are hot on their heels. You know, you've got the Philadelphia Eagles playing really good football. I mean, you've got teams in your division. You've got Green Bay. You've got Minnesota that are good football teams. So the realities are this is a very important game. With all that being said, there is a an issue and it's basically, we don't have anybody to play defense. It's, it's going to be problematic. But we'll get into it a little later on. Lions hosting Green Bay tonight, Thursday night football. I believe that the game will be broadcast on Fox two. So if you don't have Amazon Prime, which is where Thursday night football is broadcast, you can watch it locally on your local station, which is cool. All right. So a couple of big stories. This, this story out of Manhattan with the, the assassination, the killing of the CEO of US health insurance, or excuse me, United healthcare insurance. Brian Thompson was gunned down Wednesday. We talked a little bit about it. And now police say that the gunman had written words like deny, defend and depose on the casings of the bullets that were used to kill him. So as those shells exited the firearm, police obviously found them and found that there were markings on them. They were written in permanent marker or cold, according to officials. Um, and Brian Thompson, the CEO was leaving early in the morning to go to a, to go to a shareholders meeting. And he was, and he was gunned down in Midtown Manhattan. So this story continues to evolve. They are still looking for the shooter. There's a lot of questions about how this guy just vanished, how he got away, where he went. I mean, the fact that you could just kind of disappear in Manhattan in Midtown Manhattan is really surprising, really surprising. But they are still looking for the gunman. Um, also you've got today some fireworks on Capitol Hill, the house task force that was assembled to investigate the secret service failures and lapses in security at Donald Trump's Butler, Pennsylvania rally. The, the, that same rally that Donald Trump was, was shot in the year. And it was absolute chaos. Another man lost his life as a result. And so this panel that was put together earlier this year in the summer. Looking into the shooting and of course, you know, you've got Ron Rowe, who's the acting director of the secret service. He was not the director at the time of the shooting. Um, she since obviously stepped down. That same committee released a report over 50 pages long that showed the failures. They said it was preventable that there were lapses in communication that there were shortcomings in the planning process. And that there was a, a pretty clear lack of coordination between secret service officials who run the show. But then with local law enforcement with state law enforcement, um, all of these laps has led to Donald Trump being shot. And so today there were some fireworks in this hearing because this is the first time Ronald Rowe has testified before this task force. And one of the things that apparently was, uh, went a little too far into this heated exchange, representative Pat Fallon of Texas. Said that there was a photo on 9/11. When President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump were in Manhattan were in New York City. For the tribute of, uh, to 9/11 at the memorial. And standing there as well was Ronald Rowe. And representative Pat Fallon of Texas took issue with the fact that Ronald Rowe was near Kamala Harris, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. And accused Ronald Rowe of taking the place of an agent who was actually in charge of security, meaning he wasn't. An acting secret service agent in that scenario. Ronald Rowe, in response to that, shouted at, at representative Fallon, do not invoke 9/11 for political purposes. And then on the back, do you know why you were there? Fallon said because you wanted to be visible because you're auditioning for this job. So a little bit of back and forth. Again, things have leveled out under Ronald Rowe, which is a good thing. But obviously there, this is still a really touchy subject. And, you know, for me, like the fact that we still don't have really any answers about the gunman is really shocking. Um, the UAW and President Sean Fane sent a four page letter to lawmakers this week. Outlining policies that the labor union would like to see passed in the Michigan legislature during the lame duck. Meaning, before Republicans get in, here's what we want you to do. The UAW had opposition to wage and paid sick leave legislation. Um, which is not a surprise for labor unions. And as a result of the Michigan Supreme Court ruling that they acted unconstitutionally when those changes were made around minimum wage back in 2018. And so that's one of the, one of the issues. Um, and that there should not be some sort of delusion for wages and benefits for Michigan workers. Sean Fane saying we strongly oppose these bills that seek to undermine the mothering justice V Attorney General Michigan State Supreme Court ruling that raises the minimum wage. Eliminates a subminimum wage for tipped workers and provides earn and sick time for all workers. So this is something that the UAW has opposed for quite some time. Also on the athletic front, the University of Michigan has re-upped with athletic director Ward Manuel for a five year contract extension. Dan Wetzel from Yahoo News was first on it today. Uh, and also today the University of Michigan Board of Regents will be gathering. Uh, and Ward Manuel's contract could be approved as early as today. Uh, you know, there was a lot of contentiousness between Ward Manuel reportedly Jim Harbaugh. Uh, and, but, but I think for the most part, there hasn't been anything that would warrant Ward Manuel's. Ousting. So I don't think that this is much of a surprise. Um, but it's the second contract extension for Ward Manuel got here. In, uh, what was it, 2021? And so, uh, Ward Manuel will continue to be the athletic director at the University of Michigan. All right, coming back on the other side, there is a report out in Politico that is absolutely stunning. And it has to do with President Joe Biden and his pardon power. I'll tell you what it is coming up next here on Jay afternoon. You know, this music just doesn't match my tone and, and how I, how I'm really feeling right now. But I'm going to ease into this segment just gently. I feel like that's best. I'm going to try to keep my composure. I'm going to try to keep my composure for as long as possible. Because you know what, damn it, we're in the holiday season. All right, enough, enough. Here's the deal. If you thought Joe Biden pardoning Hunter was bad, wait till you get a load of what I'm about to tell you. Because what I think, boy, there is an argument to be made aside from the fact that he and all of his aides and all of the, the talking heads around the Democratic Party, both in Washington, D.C. and not that he was just, you know, Joe Biden is just such a firm believer in the rule of law and, and, and a firm believer in the Justice Department. And that there is no way that he would go against a jury of Hunter Biden's peers and pardon him. He respects the law and the process and the Department of Justice too much. This man is a, a beacon on the hill. Record scratch. Let me pardon Hunter Biden for a decade for things that we may not know about. Wild. Well, now I enter exhibit B into this evidence. This comes courtesy of Politico. Joe Biden senior aides are conducting a vigorous internal debate over whether to issue preemptive pardons to a range of current and former public officials who could be targeted with President elect Donald Trump's return to the White House. That's according to senior Democrats familiar with the discussions. Well, and you may be thinking, Chris, who might these officials be? Well, let me tell you, some of those who could face these preemptive pardons are one current representative, but also Senator elect of the great state of California, Adam Schiff. Another is of former GOP representative of Wyoming, Liz Chaney. Another, another name that's being thrown about is the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, one Dr. Anthony Fauci. preemptive pardons. Now, you've got those on the left saying, Oh, no, Donald Trump's going to take office. And he's checks notes. Putting up cash Patel to lead the FBI. Oh, no. Oh, no. We need to issue preemptive pardons. Or all of our friends are going to be in trouble. If that doesn't make you look guilty as I'll get out. I don't know what does. Now, that would be really something. Here's the other part in this that I really like, just as an aside. So these deliberations that have been going on amongst. You've got a couple of different folks, Jeff Zites, who's the chief of staff at Cisco, the White House Council. They're talking about it. Hey, Brian, let me ask you this. If you're talking about presidential pardons, who do you think would be involved in those discussions? Who do you think would be involved in that process in presidential pardons? If you had to guess. You think the president? Yeah, you'd think, wouldn't you? Now, see, I read that article too, and the way I took it was this was a discussion behind the scenes before they went and asked him or talked to him. So the president himself, who has been so focused on Hunter Biden's pardon, has yet to be brought into those decisions and those conversations. So the president of the United States is not involved in discussions about pardons. But the way I took the article, and I read the whole article that you sent me this morning, I read the way I took it. And maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm reading it, you know, I took it that let's have these conversations if we should even approach the president about this kind of thing. You know, so that's why I thought they were having the discussions. Not we're leaving, we're leaving grandpa out of the discussion. I thought it was more of a, should we even take this to him? Well, understand, and I think you're right to a certain degree, because what Politico says, according to their sources in the Democratic Party, they're kind of portraying it as a, well, maybe, should we pardon Anthony Fauci. Like, they're like, they're in like the early stages of the discussions about maybe whether or not they should pardon these people. And the tone seemed to me to be like almost a Ford Nixon thing is like, do we do we pardon these people, even if they don't want to be pardoned to save the country from two or three or four years of, let's get these people that don't like us. Okay, so here's what I'll say, because I don't think you're totally wrong, but here's the problem is the president pardoned his son. Right. Which was, which Gwen went, which went very much and flew opposite of the things that he was saying beforehand. Sure, absolutely. Okay, so optically huge problem. Yeah. Second of all, these people that he would be preemptively pardoned me. As far as I know. And some of whom say they don't want to pardon, they don't need it. But as far as I know, Adam Schiff has not faced any crimes. No, Liz Cheney has not been charged with any crimes and Anthony Fauci, as far as I know, has not been charged with any crimes. Right. So you're preemptively pardoning people based on the foul and this, this, this unbelievable notion that Donald Trump is going to go after these people. Now, that's wild in and of itself. Well, he spent the past year to half two years saying he was going to go after these people. Okay. This was all retribution. That's fine. So that's fine. They're taking him in his word. That's fine. But my question is, don't you, don't you in at the very essence of what these people do? They look at it as a public service. And not everybody is going to do the best job. Sure. Right. Like Adam Schiff brought the, the Russian claims of connections to Donald Trump's campaign to Russia and Vladimir Putin based on bad FBI information. Okay. So we know that to be true. Here's where the problem really lies is if you go about and start pardoning people based on the jobs that they do, you are. You're creating a really bad set of circumstances. A really bad set of circumstances. Now, here's the other part. And if I were advising Donald Trump, this is what I would tell him. Are you familiar with the book, The Art of War? Oh, yeah, Fred. Okay. The concept of the book is trying to catch your enemy off guard, trying to surprise them in ways that they may not totally expect. Okay. So if I were Donald Trump, here's what I would say. Here's what I would, here's what I would come out and say. I ran and won on the concept of stopping these political attacks from ever happening again in our country. And I will not go after these people. Yeah, but he won't do that. But that would make this nonsense. It would make it all ridiculous. I want to hear from you, 800-859-0957, more next. All right, I want to hear from you, 800-859-0957, 800-859-0WJ. I got one line open if you want it. Let it go out with a report today that aides close to President Joe Biden are talking about issuing preemptive pardons on people like Adam Schiff, Liz Cheney and Anthony Fauci. And I think that would be a really, really bad idea. I think it would be a really bad idea. I also think Donald Trump should come out and say, "Look, I'm not going after them. I'm not going to do what you did to me." Whether you believe or not that this was a political attack on Donald Trump is debatable. That's fine. That's your perspective. You're prerogative. But that's what Donald Trump would say. Look, I'm done. We shouldn't be doing this in America. We shouldn't be doing this in the country with these political hit jobs and taking aim at political opponents. I'm not doing it anymore. I'm not doing it. It stops with me. You did it to me. I'm not doing it to you. It would lend a lot of cachet and credibility to Donald Trump. Right? Now, Brian Offair says, "Well, what if Biden pardons Trump to which I'd like to know what's in your coffee cup, Brian?" That's some pretty powerful stuff. Well, it takes the curse off of anything he does. If I pardoned you, you can't really criticise me for pardoning other people. Do you think he voted for Donald Trump? No. You don't think so? I would pretty much bet against it. Okay. That's just a thought. I don't know. But don't you think that stops all this? That would be like, that's the equivalent of me playing Jake in checkers. Yeah. In my Michigan checkers that he got for me for my birthday. That he was, you know, totally nonchalant to get me. But it's like him jumping one of my pieces and being all excited and then I triple jump him. Like that would be pretty wild. That would be pretty unexpected. And I agree. If Trump came out and said, "We're not doing this anymore," pardon Donald Trump, Democrats would never win another election again. It'd be over. It'd be over. Or would it be the end of all this nonsense we got going on right now? It might be a real admission, which wouldn't look great either. Well, that's how it would be taken. But it doesn't matter what you do. It's going to be taken the wrong way. Well, I think this is a really bad look. And the fact that also political reports that Joe Biden isn't involved in these discussions yet is also weird to me. And see, I disagree. I don't think it's a bad look. I think it's defanging the serpent. But see what this, what I, what I view pieces like this as, because oftentimes, you know, in this position, there are times when I understand how the sausage is made. Sure. Right. Right. I understand that sometimes you leak things to the media, or there are things that you want out there just to see how it's going to go down. It's like, you know, you're right before you close the pool for the year. Just dip it in to see how cold the water is. It's like you're just, you're just testing. You're just testing to see what the reaction is. Right. Right. That's what it is. But at the same time, if he does name democratic source, who's close to these conversations, but if he does, it's a political, they're, they're wondering what people are going to say about it. Their whole Trump's whole thing of retribution and revenge and not, and you're right. He should be man enough and adult enough to go, look, we're stopping all this now. I'm not doing this. Clearly putting cash patel in there is sending the message that no, we're going after the people. Well, that's what they think. That's what he's sending. That's the perspective. Well, yeah, because Ken is talking a lot of time talking about how he's going after those people. Sure. And that's fine. That's fine. So. So from an optics perspective, there's that. But pardoning all these people now down the snakes got no fangs. All I'll tell you is when the dude pardoned his son, it was people were losing their minds. I know. Partly because he lied, but, but the other part of it is that there is this, you know, you, you, you used your power to help your family. Sure. Okay. That's a problem. But do you think he cares as the outgoing president who said, that's what I mean, either. Right. Right. I wouldn't care. Right. But, but in this case, when these people haven't been charged with crimes, when these people haven't faced any penalties, when these people haven't faced a jury or been charged, like none of this has happened, but you're just going to go, well, just in case, like it's not a good look, but it's not just in case. He spent two years walking around telling us he's going after these people who have said stuff and done stuff about it. He said it. I also said it if he just implied that it is. But I also think you as a, as a public official, you as somebody who is serving your country in one way or the other, there are risk is the wrong word, but there are, there are consequences to that occasionally. Sure. Right. You may not do the right job. Was he right? No. I mean, was he right? Was he then a thousand? No. You have to be accountable to what you did. Yes. Absolutely. Now, does that mean you should be run down by the FBI? No. Right. Not necessarily, but. But they have the right to investigate you. Sure. Yeah. Absolutely. So. Investigation might come to nothing, but they should investigate. Absolutely. So without with preemptively pardoning somebody, you cut the legs out from the American people understanding what the ramifications of their actions were, right? And so this is the problem, but you also, if there's one person in that list of people we saw that that's true of say, say it's Fauci and he did something wrong. Okay. But he's going to go after Adam Schiff too, who maybe did nothing and he's going to go after Liz Cheney, who really did nothing because she said, she said mean things about me. So is that fair either? No, son, he's going to do what he's going to accusing them of doing, he's going to weaponize these places, pardoning them means you got to find somebody else to go after that. That's one theory. Yes. Yeah. I'm not saying. All right. Maybe you go about and see if they did anything wrong. Right. But that's all part of what could be a process, but we don't know investigating how legit any of that actually is think might have done something. You suspect of committing a crime. That's one thing going after somebody because they said mean things about me. That's quite another. I think a lot. I think I think people who are strong Donald Trump supporters could say the exact same thing about him. Probably sure. I get that. So this is the balance thing where he should say that, but you're you're you're the leader of the free world. This isn't a quid pro quo kind of deal. Yeah. All right. 800 eight five nine zero nine five seven 800 eight five nine zero nine five seven Williams and river Rouge. What's up, William? Hey, Chris. How you doing? Hey, buddy? Very good. My friend. I just want to do this say this and I'm listening to your co host, what he was saying about Trump shouldn't be this. The American people have the right to know that these people have done it. They've done something wrong. They have, but we have the right to know Washington DC is messed up right now. And people, that's what Trump went in there in this election was he was going to clean this wall. Listen to them. He appointed all the people that they wanted him to a point because they can control them. Now he's only his lesson is bringing these outsiders in. It's like you said, a fresh set of eyes to look at every place. Yeah. And look, there may be some political, you know, motivation there. There may be some something there. But the realities are, if you're preemptively pardoning somebody for no reason, when they have no charges, it's a bad look. And the insinuation is they did something wrong. Sure. And does he know, does he know this? Like they said, about you responding to research in China, when he was told not to. Right. And you know what? Paul. He's going to meet his maker in the end. It's all these people died, he's going to pay for what he's done. Well, and William, I mean, look, the gain of function research and all that stuff, and I appreciate the call. That's all part of it. I think it's all it's the decisions that were made during a certain period of time in the effort to help people, but was it in the best? Was it with the best information that these decisions were being made? I just think when you're talking about preemptively pardoning somebody, the optics are really bad when they haven't been charged with anything. And there it does seem to be like, when I look at it, it seems like, well, then there's some admission of guilt there, or I mean, Joe Biden is so steadfast in his support of Liz Cheney that he needs to protect her from Donald Trump. I mean, I don't, I don't know. It's weird to me. Quickly, Pat Richmond, what's up, Pat? Hey, Chris. Yeah, I agree. Trump probably is not his best interest to start putting arrows at who he's going to go after. But at the same time, we see these politicians all the time say, no one's above the law. No one's above the law. Biden administration sets a new law if they do this preemptive pardon. I mean, then any future people in administration say, I can get away with murder. No, I don't have to worry about it. What if Biden has said his own administration is a preemptive pardon and no one could be a held accountable for what they did? You can't do that. The American people, they have to be a accountability for wrongdoing. And the Americans, people would be given a disservice if he set up something like a preemptive pardon. Yeah, I would agree. And again, there may not be any there there. And that's okay. And I don't even really believe Donald Trump is going to go after Liz Cheney. I don't. Liz Cheney is, I mean, at this point, for sure, she's a nobody to him. She's not on his radar. She didn't have any pull during the election was she was sitting beside Kamala Harris. There's nothing with her. I don't understand why Liz Cheney would be even considered for this. She is a non factor in Donald Trump's world. But these are the conversations that are being had amongst close by nades without him yet, which I find interesting. Pat, thank you. We'll get some more of your calls. Your text coming up. First Loma's Brown joins me on the other side as we get ready for Lions Packers than I down a Ford field. All right, we'll get back to your calls momentarily 800 859 0 957, but we get a big Lions game tonight, a really big game, a divisional game against the Packers. One in the NFC means a whole heck of a lot for how this season ends up for the Lions, whether or not they maintain their, their place as the number one team in the NFC, really trying to get that first round by really trying to get a home field throughout the playoffs would be hugely valuable and picking up a win tonight would go a whole long way. Loma's Brown, the color analyst for the Detroit Lions radio network. And of course, cohost here on sports wrap joins me this afternoon low. Big one tonight, my friend, huge, huge is the word man. I mean, this is this is actually for first place, basically, if you talk about it and with everybody on our heels, like Philadelphia and like I said, green Bay and Minnesota, we have to keep paying so big game and it's going to show us a lot tonight. I don't care too much because all these injuries we deal with, how the guys handle it. Now I think when you were playing, you'd probably on paper, you look at what the defense is bringing to the table. And if you're an offensive lineman, you're probably thrilled, but Aaron Glenn has this unit playing really well. And then they brought in a couple of guys, Jamal Adams, probably going to get a look at at playing linebacker. I don't know. There were just so many issues on the defensive side of the ball with because of the injuries, they've just kept piling and piling up. What do you expect from from Aaron Glenn side of the ball tonight? Yeah, I mean, I think he's done a great job too at disguising the pressures, the looks, the blitz look. So I expect the Aaron Glenn to continue to do that, but it's going to have to be a collective group that gets pressure and get consistent hits and sacks and pressures on Jordan Love. So it could be Brian Brans. It could be the linebackers, Campbell, you know, whoever else we have, we have available out there. It could be. We don't even know names anymore. Lomas. It's crazy. Right. It really is, man. And you know, we know, we make Neil is going to be out there. Yeah. And they're going to focus in on the lean. So DJ reader tonight, exactly. So can the other guys win their one on one match ups? That's going to be a lot for us to watch tonight. And hopefully those guys will be able to, you know, I think going back a week, you know, I agree, Aaron Glenn does a really, really good job from a schematic perspective. They didn't always get home. There was a lot in that game defensively where they were putting pressure on Caleb Williams, but oftentimes their blitzes did not get home and that's when Caleb Williams kind of picked them apart when you're bringing those pressures, you're leaving vacant, you know, empty spots on the field. And that's where the bears kind of took advantage. But with that being said, with this, this, this game, if you can get to Jordan Love, if you can make things very uncomfortable for him, he will make mistakes. And your secondary, particularly Brian Branches, you mentioned Kirby Joseph, those are your ball Hawks. So I would expect that back end to have a pretty big night. Yeah, they can, but the number one thing we're going to have to do, Chris, we won't have to stop the run because that's what Green Bay wants to do. And they're kind of similar to us offensively. They want to establish the run and everything comes off the runs for them. You know, again, Jordan, Jordan loves play action passes. They take, they shots off of that, you know, they have, they're up there in the league with explosive plays. So they like to take those shots. But the only way you could do it really successfully and consistently is you have to have that run game. And with Josh Jacobs back then, man, he, to me, he's a, he's a clone of David Montgomery. You know what I'm saying? He has the same style, the power. He could break tackles. He could make guys myth. You can catch out the backfield. To me, he's almost like a, a David Montgomery for them. And so again, we're going to have to contain him and that's what they want to do. So if we stop that run, then I'm, I agree with you, everything else and fall in place as far as us getting pressure on George Love. I think on the, the opposite side of things here, when you've got a defensive unit that has sustained a kind of the injuries that they have, I think it's easy for most people to say like, well, our offense is so good. We'll just go out and put up 35 points. The realities are that is really difficult to do. And it puts a ton of pressure on the offense to really carry the thing. Now they've had complimentary football on both sides of the ball. They really have. And I think Aaron, Aaron Glenn deserves a ton of credit. But offensively tonight, I mean, it does really feel like they got to be clicking on all cylinders. Yeah, they do and I'm going to tell you special teams could be big for us. I mean, that could be, you know what I'm saying? When you have games like this, this type, the vision of full games where everybody knows everybody moves and schemes and they're so familiar with each other. You know the guy going up against you, you know what I'm saying? You know his best moves, he knows your best moves. But sometimes it's something like special teams that can be the difference in the game like that. The hidden yardage, you know, penalty yardage. One of the things like that we have to look at and take that into account to Chris because when you get a game like this tonight, the first place game of battle, which I know this is going to be, those little things count like that in the end. So we're going to have to play clean. Open of these, you can't give up hidden yardage that way and special teams has to be special tonight for us. Well one thing I think we can probably account on is that this team's going to be physical. This team's going to go out there and game plan at an elite level and they've got the horses to do it, particularly in the offensive side of the ball. Can they make things uncomfortable for Jordan? Jordan love. That's what I think we got to see. Well, thank you, my friend, a good to talk with you, we'll do it again soon. Take care. All right. Have a good call tonight on the game. That's Lomas Brown, of course, here of sports wrap on WJ will take a break, three o'clock hour coming up, make way for news and more as we continue on J afternoon. All right, three o'clock hour, it is just like this music, nice to have you. Hey, at 335, I've got an opportunity for you to win some tickets. It's a stay and play package for two at the beautiful boutique hotel in Marine City, the in on Water Street courtesy of Thumb Coast theaters as well. Get your tickets to go see Yes, Virginia. There is a Santa Claus playing now through December 22nd and stay and play package at the in on Water Street. So be listening at 335 and give away those tickets. Big line game tonight. Lomas Brown and I just broke it down. If you missed our conversation, WJRA.com, you can check it out. Get you ready for the game today. But it's a big one. It's a big one. Lions are desperately in need of a win. And here's the thing, I, um, you know, when you're in this kind of run, what the lions are doing is unbelievable. And when when you're on this kind of run, you tend to be your perspectives tend to change. And like, if we didn't have the injuries that we have and we lost, I would be disappointed. You know, it would be hard to stomach considering how much is at stake in terms of seating in terms of the vision, all those things, but if they lose tonight, you know, I don't, I don't view it as the end of the world, but it's a really, really, really important game. And it would be, it would be really, really nice to have this win tonight. You know, if you lose to the bills, that's one thing, right? They're an AFC team. It carries less weight. But the fact of the matter is you'd really want to win this game tonight against the Packers. So if you don't have Amazon Prime, you can check it out on Fox two, I believe it'll be on Fox two, um, another, let me, Danielle, let me give you another Christmas faux pas that I've made. So you know, hustle and bustle buying things for the kids, I also bought a couple things for Stephanie, right? And I'm always like, Hey, what do you want for Christmas? What do you want? So I can get something that she actually wants. And so, uh, I made the mistake and it's not even purposeful. It just kind of happened, like in the hustle and bustle of everything. I left some of her presence in the car and, and like, I didn't even think about it. And you know, we're putting the kids in the car or whatever. And she sees everything and I'm like, oh, why, you know, I, you know, whatever, picking up the kids, taking them in the house, I forget the stuff. And then I, you know, I, I, I'm a dummy and I forget. And then we put the kids in the car and she's there and sees everything. And did she say anything to you? She didn't. But I said, I go, where can I put things that you're not going to find them? Like, where can I put things for you that I bought that you're, she goes, you don't have to do that. And I'm like, why? She's like, because I already saw it. And I'm like, when did you see it? She's like, when we put the kids in the car and I'm like, right. So now there's no pressure there. Yeah, but now you have to get her, you have to get her more because now you have to give her a surprise. I see. Mm hmm. Well, I'll work on that. And maybe if you have any great ideas, let me know. I'm going to say, okay, well, you think about it, excuse me, a parka, yes, the $200 one that I just saw, it's 10 and it's got a hood on it. Okay. That one sounds good. And maybe some boots that match it. Yeah. Oh, okay. Okay. All right. Well, why don't you send me that link? Okay. Okay. Very good. Yeah. We'll just clear that right up. A couple of headlines this hour want to make you aware of there was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit off the coast of Northern California. And now 5 million Californians are under a tsunami watch. Excuse me, a tsunami warning off the coast of California. I have not been able to find if there have been any injuries, things like that, but a sizable earthquake off the coast of Northern California, putting 5 million people under its nami warning. So something we're continuing to watch also, we, you know, we talk a lot about Doge. We talk a lot about the department of government efficiency that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswami are going to be heading up. Well, now it's time to take it to the US Capitol because Elon Musk was on Capitol Hill today joined by Ramaswami for meetings with legislators behind closed doors about the plans to, to do away with unnecessary regulations or unnecessary spending by the, the federal government. And you know, there are Republicans that are all in favor of this, right, cutting down on, on a lot of the waste or a lot of the redundancies or anything that the federal government doesn't necessarily need. And this is an ambitious effort and they've set this, this goal of, you know, like 18 months, essentially. And it, it's, it's a fast track to go through with a fine tooth comb. All of the budgets, everything within the federal government, um, you know, they wrote an op-ed together in the Wall Street Journal, um, saying that Doge has a historic opportunity for structural reductions in the federal government. We are prepared for the onslaught. And there are Republicans on Capitol Hill that are, that are all in favor of this, that are excited about it. You know, there are, there are, um, those in the Senate in particular, Ernie, uh, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Rick Scott of Florida that are launching caucuses to take a look at this as well, different committees to, to aid in this. So there is, there is a full on now press as they built the, uh, built and are building a team to, uh, to take a look at this, but particularly, uh, tapping people in Silicon Valley places like that, um, there was also in the house on Capitol Hill, um, the house is expected to vote on whether or not to release Matt Gaetz's ethics report. Um, they are going to vote, they're expected to vote today, as a matter of fact, um, on this years long investigation of Matt Gaetz, uh, you know, on a number of different allegations like illicit drug use and misconduct with a, a girl who was 17 years old, um, you know, Matt Gaetz has always continued to maintain his innocence as that there was no, uh, standing here that there was no evidence of any of this, but there was an ethics committee report that was put together. It's done. Um, and, and there was a lot of talk about whether or not to release it, even if his nomination for attorney general was going to continue to stand, but he dropped out. And now these allegations continue to swirl and whether or not this ethics report gets released is, uh, is, is a whole other matter, um, also the, the, the unbelievably wild story out of midtown Manhattan with the cold blooded murder of United healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Police are continuing to look for the shooter in that case. Um, but one of the pieces of evidence that they've been able to gather are the shell casings from the gun that was used. And feels very purposeful that these shells were or left number one, but also that they had words written on them in permanent marker, like deny, defend and depose three bullet shell casings that were found that had words written on them. So police are continuing to, to look for the shooter, the suspected shooter, um, and they're continuing to release information. They've got photos out of this person now. And the manhunt continues in midtown Manhattan, but, but truly an unbelievable story, a tragic story and, and, and there's also been reports of insider trading that is being investigated by Washington. Um, yeah, a, a really unbelievable story and much like an onion, the, the layers just keep getting peeled back and more information coming out. We'll continue to follow that as well for you this Thursday afternoon. Uh, if you want to go to Donald Trump's inauguration, maybe you don't want to rack up the miles on your car. There is a group leaving on a tour bus for Washington, DC slated for the inauguration. We'll talk to the person putting that together next year on JR afternoon. Well, if you voted for Donald Trump, there was a, obviously a lot of enthusiasm around him as, as he won the election, became president elect and we'll take the oath of office on January 20th in Washington, DC in the national mall. And if you wanted to go, but maybe you thought he's, you know, I don't know, I, I don't want to have to plan it. I don't want to have to drive or fly in or anything like that. Well, there is an advertising agency that is setting up a trip. And basically everything's planned out for you. You hop on board a charter bus, you drive to Washington, DC, you got a hotel, we, there, there is a, a plans for transportation, take the, the train into Washington, DC. That way you could be there for the inauguration of Donald Trump, the 45th and now soon to be 47th president of the United States. And Allen Patel is the founder of the advertising agency, your big sign, and he's putting together the trip. And he's going to be here this afternoon. Allen, it's good to have you. Chris, it's good to be with you also. Now tell me a little bit about the company and what you focus on. Sure. Um, I own your big sign. It's an advertising agency. We specialize in highway billboards, a TV commercials, advertising at Detroit Metro, things like that, all the help, small and medium sized businesses, um, advertise their services and products. So then how'd you get into politics? Well, that's a little bit of a story. Um, back in '06, when, um, President Trump was first making his run, um, I had got a Christmas card from bleeder or not, like probably so many other people. And I said, you know, I have to get involved. Um, so I became precinct delegate over in Livingston County. Um, I put up the Trump sign on my lawn and sure enough, someone stole my sign and it made me super mad, you know, who would go and steal signs? Right? Um, but little did they know that, uh, we were advertising on, um, Metro, highway digital billboards all around the area. So I see you had bigger signs, yeah, bigger signs. And for that first run, we probably put in, uh, dozens of highway billboards, you might have seen them. It's the Michigan heart, uh, Trump billboard and literally we probably reached over 600,000 people. A person that stole my yard sign now was responsible for me reaching out to over 600,000 people and billboards. Well, yeah, so, so you, you turned a negative into a positive, uh, from your perspective. And so we did. So, so what was your level of enthusiasm for, for this particular election with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris? Um, Chris, over the top, I'm just ecstatic, um, that he won. And the reason I say that is, you know, I'm in contact with over 10,000 small businesses each month. And I really noticed a difference in how they've been hurting in the last four years during the Biden administration. And, um, it's just difficult for them, uh, they, you know, have a hard time finding extra money and they're just doing all they can to cover their bills and expenses and things like that. Um, so, um, that's what really, you know, got me started, um, and saying, um, yeah, I need to bring along a lot of people, uh, to the inauguration. And so, uh, we came up with this bus idea. Now, I did bring a small group of people back in '07, so I'm really familiar with how the inauguration happens and the parade afterwards. So you saw that experience to kind of plan this next trip. So now here, here in 2024, it's that that excitement is now crescendoed, you're going to go back to DC. You've, uh, you've, you've chartered a 50 seat motor coach, um, and, and you've put together a package for folks. So if people wanted to go, you've got a hotel lined up, you've got the bus lined up, obviously for transportation when, when you get to Metro DC, uh, you've already planned out which train you need to take into the city. And, and so this is kind of a, uh, a well rounded trip that you've kind of set out for folks. It is. Um, I'm really excited. We're going to be taking a luxurious blue lake, uh, motor coach. You can plug in your laptop or watch movies. You can recline in a, um, a nice comfortable seat and let the driving, uh, be done, uh, with the professionals. So we're really excited about that. Uh, we're going to be departing from Heartland, um, at Imagine Theater. Uh, one of our sponsors in the trip is Paul Glance from Imagine Theater. Sure. So, uh, he's helped us kind of get started, um, we'll be taking off from there and traveling to Manassas, which is about an hour outside of DC. Um, a coach, uh, ticket is $230 a seat. Um, I was able to get some affordable hotel rates at the local hotel in Manassas, and that's a $139 a night. Um, we'll be spending two nights there, so we'll drive down on Sunday and Monday we'll take the local train from Manassas, uh, to the mall area. And then we'll also attend, um, the, not only the inauguration, uh, on the mall, but also the prayed afterwards, and then after all that's finished, we'll take the train back to Manassas, head to the hotel and depart, uh, next morning on Tuesday. So, um, it's really all set up, really easy to, um, get your reservations. People can go and look at our website, your big sign.com, uh, there's an inauguration page and also the promo flyer, or they can either call or text me. And do you, uh, that, that your number to call or text you is what? Two, four, eight, eight, eight, one, nine, five, zero, five. So two, four, eight, eight, eight, one, nine, five, zero, five, or you can head on over to your big sign.com, click that in the inauguration tab and, uh, and get everything set. How many, how many people can you still fit on the bus? How many, how many, uh, how many of these trips have you sold? We're about, uh, 25 or 50 seats sold, so the magic date is December 10th. Um, I'm going to close the reservations and, uh, we'll kind of ramp it up. So if you're at all interested, call or text me soon, uh, because December 10th is quickly approaching. Yeah, no doubt about it. So two, four, eight, eight, one, nine, five, zero, five, your big sign.com, you can sign up there or, uh, or just, uh, text Alan Patel, uh, at two, four, eight, eight, eight, one, nine, five, zero, five, and, uh, get on the bus, Alan, if you've got extra seats, you let me know. I'll come with you. Hey, that sounds good, Chris, um, we look forward to it. All right. Very good. Uh, that is Alan Patel, the owner of your big sign, the advertising company that is putting together this trip to Washington D.C. to take in the inauguration of the 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, Alan, thank you so much for your time. Appreciate it. Thanks, Chris. Appreciate it too. Yep. You got it. Uh, look, I mean, if you're, uh, if you want to go, and I think Alan's right, what's nice is you don't have to do any of the legwork. It's already done already done. So if you want to go witness history, you want to go see a presidential inauguration and maybe you haven't, I mean, it is a spectacle. It is, it is a a historic day, any presidential inauguration, historic moments in the United States and to be a part of that history, to be a part of that day, uh, is, uh, is a special day. Uh, so if you, uh, want to go on that trip, your big sign dot com or two four eight eight one nine five zero five, it's pretty cool, pretty cool. It's a pretty cool trip. Uh, meanwhile, coming up on the other side, I know we still got some folks on the line. This, this idea of AIDS around president Joe Biden talking about issuing preemptive pardons to people like Adam Schiff or Liz Cheney or even somebody like Anthony Fauci will continue with your calls, your texts coming up here on J.R. afternoon, all right, eight hundred eight five nine zero nine five seven eight hundred eight five nine zero W.J.R. You know, certainly still in the news are some of the names being floated about by, uh, Donald Trump to lead key positions in his cabinet. Uh, how about this? Right? You're ready for this. Pete Haggseth obviously is a, is a big one because he would be defense secretary, um, and a lot of a lot of allegations continue to swirl around him. Um, he did an interview with Megan Kelly where he denied many of the claims of the mistreatment of women and push back on different reports that he was forced out by a couple of, uh, non-profit veterans groups. But one of the things that he, uh, that he talked that, that, that, you know, he's like an alcoholic, he's a drunk, you know, things like that, um, he's also apparently, according to reports, promised senators that he has stopped drinking and he would not drink at all if he was confirmed as the new secretary of defense. And does that put people's, you know, nerves at ease? Does that, does that give them some sort of, um, some sort of solace? I don't know. Maybe, maybe that's an issue that senators are worried about that somebody who isn't, you know, clear-eyed and has a vision and, you know, if you're half in the bag and something goes down, probably need your defense secretary to be pretty lucid. But if this is an issue, um, this is something that, you know, uh, Missouri Republican Senator Eric Schmidt said, uh, he offered up to me and I know he has with other senators too, that he's not drinking. And that's something he's going to do when confirmed here, uh, and that comes from ABC news. So just one of the things to watch for is a lot of these nominations, uh, come under fire. 800-859-0957. Let's go out to Democrat Dave. Hello, David Chris, talking about the, uh, impending preemptive pardon reported reportedly reported early discussions. We know Project 2025 is on their way all, but the abortion thing is, you do. Yeah. Yeah. Where did you, where did you talk to about that? I mean, all y'all do is, is, is, is, is take those elements. The loyalty pledge, the, the, the political and getting rid of the federal workers. I mean, everything, but the abortion, uh, getting rid of all, all the so-called undocumented immigrants. I mean, you go down the list and abortions probably just around the corner. We know what he said and Claire, you do know real quick, Dave, real quick. You do know that as recently as 2008, Hillary Clinton talked about deporting illegal immigrants as well. So did Barack Obama. Well, they did. And that was well before Project 2025 was crafted by the deported illegal immigrants. Okay. Yeah. And as a matter of fact, uh, Barack Obama deported more people than Donald Trump did. Well, yeah. And that's the fact that if you want to talk about this, that's exactly why my point is, my point is that is, hold on Dave, my point is, if you use that as the basis of your argument, it's just, it's ridiculous because they Democrats were saying the same things acted on those things well before Project 2025 was ever even a thought. The enemy is from within specifically he said, it's not the sworn and we can handle the sworn enemy. Who the hell do you think he was talking about? If it wasn't guys like Adam Smith, Liz Cheney, Jack Chip, Merritt, darling, Tony Fauci, Nancy Pelosi, that's who he was talking about. Cash Patel specifically said, we're process cute in any way we can forget about the charges, forget about the merits of breaking the law. We'll do it civilly. We'll do it criminally, whatever it takes. Right. And that's something that Donald Trump has said that they've done to him. What does that have to do with that? First of all, if you want to talk about the New York case as far as the merits of that case versus the, Dave, I'm telling you, that's what Donald Trump has said, that he was a political, he was in the political crosshairs of his opponents. I'm talking about the whole argument that Biden doesn't have any reason to give these if these people could say, no, I don't want it fine, but he say, here it is, so you don't have to spend tons of money to go after the bogus charges that you know, it's going to be coming from cash, but tell if he gets in, or you know that by the speed banning. But do you know that? You know that to be true? Yes, but how about it? My God, Chris, don't you listen to your own news feed? Dave, my point is you don't know anything to be true. To say that he's going to do it is not just that's being disingenuous. That's not true. When someone says it, when someone says it, Dave, you told me for the better part of eight months that the polls were wrong and that that Kamala Harris was going to win. My point is you don't know, we don't know these things yet. It's one thing to say stuff. It's another thing to actually act on it. We know what they said, okay? We know what they said. Okay, that's fair. They believe them when they double down, I'm explaining to you what the enemy was in they met. Got it. Okay. All right, Dave, thank you. That's revenge and retribution. Okay. Thank you, Dave. Appreciate you. Let's double dip. Super recede. What up, soup? Hey, what's good with you, Chris? How are you doing? I'm good. What's going on? So two quick things. So I think what you guys were talking about is a part of the pardon, right? Yeah. Of his son. No, no, no, no, no. Hold up. Super real quick. That's what we're talking about. Okay. Okay. So what does that have to do? So basically it would be up to Biden to do what he wants to do. Period. That's right. Right. But he also according to the report is not involved in those conversations yet. Well, he needs to come out and say, look, nobody makes my mind up for me. You can make a suggestion, but I'm going to do what I want to do. So if anybody want to bring some suggestions to him, so be it. Do you think that's a good idea? Do you think that would be wise to do preemptive pardon people that have no, no charges, no crimes committed? What do you mean, pre I mean, if he feels like preemptive party, if he feels like you guys or those guys that you guys back are going to be out for people. Yeah. Why not? And which you guys are probably going to be pretty or those guys going to be pretty vindictive. They could be. It's going to be a gamble. So why take the chance on the gamble? Yeah, go ahead and do it. I would do it. I mean, if it's somebody that I that I know that are good people and that may get caught up by the dark side of the force, which is going to come in, you know, we're the good side of the force. They're the dark side of the force. Yeah. Why not? Because, uh, uh, blockades in there to help his people out once he leaves office. But let me say this to Chris. Yeah. Um, a couple of weeks ago, yeah, we had a conversation or somebody had a conversation about me saying that I would not call into any more stations anymore, which I would not be doing that in the new year, but then you kind of took it. You took it offensively and said like, um, well, we don't do that here because I called you to be a guest on your show. So are you trying to say that a person that calls into your show is not there enough to be a guest on your show? Is that what you're trying to tell me, Chris? If you call into my show, Sue, Bob, I'm, I always take your call. I'm always happy to talk with you. I don't, I don't know what you mean. I said, I guess I would like to be a guest on shows coming up. I'm not doing any more calling in for the new year. Got it. I mean, I'm charging people, brother. I'm charging like a thousand dollars to be again. Well, well, you're calling the wrong station, my friend. I'm going to be a guest and do you feel like, just because I call in, I'm not good enough to be a guest on your show, is that what you're trying to tell me? I never said anything like that, Sue. That's what I'm asking you. Am I good enough to be a guest on your show, even though I call into your show? So if you are a valued member of this program, and I always appreciate our conversations. Okay. Well, we'll get more clarity on that going down me and you'll get more clarity on that going in the future because I will not be calling in any more going forward. Okay. I'm too valuable, brother. I'm just as valuable as Charlemagne to God, but better in certain ways. No, Sue. You know, Sue, I actually couldn't disagree. I mean, I couldn't agree with you more. I completely agree. 100%. Thanks, Sue. It's got to Gary and Royal Oak. What's up, Gary? Yeah. How you doing? I was, you know, disturbed about two colors ago. I mean, you shut that guy off like he was stupid or whatever. I mean, I'm like, everybody's got a voice and you have a voice. And every time you say, "I think, I think, I think," well, I think too. You know, I just don't understand how a person on the radio says, "Oh, oh, I think, I think." Well, we're all puppets, we got to listen to this guy. Yeah, I mean, come on, Chris, really. Thank you, Gary. I appreciate those thoughts. I really do. I value that. Thank you, Gary. I appreciate that. I just want to make sure Gary is Gary done. Oh, yes. Okay. All right. I just want to make sure Gary has all the time he needs. Exactly out to Ohio. Catch up with Steve. What's up, Stevie? Hey, thanks a lot, Chris. I want to take a moment to thank Dave, the Democrat, and Sue for everything they did that helped real like Donald Trump. There, the common sense voters of Michigan needed to know what the other side sounded like and I think that helped move the needle. Well, maybe. I don't know. I mean, look, I think there was a tremendous headwind behind Donald Trump in retrospect, right? Yeah. You know, beforehand, we thought things were close. We thought things were, you know, I felt like I had a pretty good beat on it, but at the end of the day, you just don't know. And I think in hindsight, it was pretty obvious that there was a headwind and whatever that reason was. I don't know how much Dave or recida had involvement in that, but yeah, I think there is a prevailing idea that, you know, the way of the Democratic Party just wasn't what people were driving with this time. So yeah, comments, comments, common sense of taking up, taking a big, big break for four years. And, you know, there were folks who wanted to wanted to freeze the fresh air. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think you're right. Steve. Thank you, my friend. Appreciate you. Christopher, what's going on there, Laddie? He's got a big one tonight. Oh, it is. We got a big one tonight. Many levels. It's a big one. Do we have business that we need to take care of? We do. All right. Let's take a look at the presentation about the big one brought to you by the performance remodeling sweepstakes. The game, right? Yes. Okay. Yes. Performance remodeling selected Cameron's Acari as the winner of their first annual $100,000 window of opportunity sweepstakes. Performance remodeling says let's do it again. Log into Windows, roofing, siding.com to enter to win the next sweepstakes from performance remodeling. All right. Let's just lay it out. Defense is crippled. I mean, they have, they're running on fumes. Yeah. This is the divisional game. Huge game. They're three and all in the division thus far. They're 11 and one. They are still in the driver's seat for the number one team in the NFC. What is the concern level for tonight? Because Taylor Decker, also not playing tonight, he's out. So you're going against a team that's physical, likes to run the football. They like to set the pace and they're already hobbled defensively. What, what is the, what is the real concern level for tonight from you? Well, I think it's interesting that the line has gone down to three. The lions at home now favored by a mere three. So those that are. But you get with the home field advantage. So it's basically a toss. That's what they're saying. Yeah. It's a wash. Listen, what we're witnessing on the defensive side of the ball for this lions team is somewhat unprecedented. As a matter of fact, Adam Schefter posting on X formerly Twitter earlier today, the lions with 15 injured defensive players, no other team in the national football league has more than seven. I think when you bring in this level of backups, you don't even put your, their names on the back of the jerseys. It gets wild. I think Ken Brown is lining up as a linebacker tonight. Yes. What is your concern level for tonight? As you see, I have none. You have none over there. What's the level? Like he's at a summer picnic score and score some more. What is that? Martini in your hand? Yes. Score and score some more. All right. So you're saying, just to be on the safe side, offensively, the lions should put up 40 score and score some more. This is a track meet is what you're telling me. It's going to be a, it's going to be an exciting game. I see a lot of points. Green Bay's are, they're good, but they haven't beat anybody. That's fine. That's fine. And then there are, and that 13 that Adam Schefter's throwing, look at some of the names were there. Some of those were like guys from training camp, like Bada. Right. That's right. True. Really, they're missing three guys. Okay. Well, I mean, for this game, three guys. Let's start with DJ Reader. Now, come on. And as long as the backup reader as a loney and, um, oh, and Hutchinson soldier, who you're missing. I mean, is Jamal Adams legitimately going to play linebacker tonight? He's been getting some work there. Look at some play. According to reports, he's not going to win the game for you. If that's what you wait. No, no, no. He'll help you. He's a body. Your body will get to play. He can do one thing good and they'll make, they'll put him in position and do that. That's fine. I think if there's one thing that has really evolved over time is, you know, there was a, there was a time in this, in this crew that, you know, people were down on Aaron Glenn or whatever. Aaron Glenn, so far this year, I mean, has done wonders with a really depleted unit. I mean, he has done really, really good job. He's had an improved secondary. He said no doubt. Which was the weak room a year ago, man. What's the word on, um, on Davis, Carlton Davis today? He's playing. Yeah. Yeah. Practical. This is the thing though, if you guys have noticed, I want to digress from your argument. This is the Philadelphia Eagles weekend in national media. The Lions are being pushed down and Philly's being pushed up and that narrative is taken all its way to this game tonight and they building everybody else up, Green Bay's up, Philadelphia's up, Minnesota's up, mine is down because you can't talk about a team that's on the top. So you have to push them down. Push down all week and I think they are going to respond to that tonight. If you could watch this being all week, you're saying that they, they like to be in the light. They like to be in the spotlight. They're being disrespected. They're being disrespected. They're being disrespected now. Okay. Well, keep an eye on this matchup tonight. I think both these teams are going to try like hell to run the ball. You got on the Packers side of thing, Josh Jacobs right now, third, 987 yards rushing. And remember, the Packers aren't a scared coming to Ford Field. Last time they were here a year ago, Thanksgiving, they walked away with a W. So listen, all hands on deck. Next man up, throw out any cliche you want. Dan Campbell is very confident as you would imagine he would be with whos ever on the field. They will play at the level they need to. All right. We have any thoughts predictions? Yes, I feel bad for those who aren't watching on Fox two because the wheel of death for all those out of the state of Michigan to watch this game on Amazon again too bad when the Gibbs is running for a touchdown and it stalls out and your little swill of death comes up on there. You mean his third touchdown, whatever, if you can get to see him, all right, I say lions winning 5350. It's going to be attractive, if it is, that would favor the lions. It would. That definitely goes to the game as depleted as they are. You know what? Who cares? Can be the lions. Let's do this thing. Let's do it. I'm ready. What do we got coming up? We're going to talk to we're going to talk about the lions. We're going to talk about movies. We're going to talk about this United CEO killing. Yeah, crazy. We're going to talk about health care and I was going to say Moana two was really good, but then you took to the killing and I didn't think I could do that. You could say it wasn't good. It's good. So all right. Mitch, I'm the crew. (laughing) You
