Man, Coach Sargent, Texas staff just landed the best defense allowing in the nation and just as Terry out of Manchester, Georgia, that's just what just happened. I can't get any more excited, I rewatched his tape again this morning, I was like, this can't be real, talking about a man child, talking about a guy who just dominates the overpowers everybody he faces, and to come all the way, just go into Georgia and give him to come to Austin, Texas, let's talk about it. Dude, Steve Sargent just went into the Peach State and stole Kirby Smart's lunch money. Hell, he took his whole meal ticket. And listen, do you understand how big this is, it's not just a need position, he is joining Josiah Charman, Myron Charles in the class of 2025, those are three difference-making defensive tackles, they needed three, at least four in this cycle, you couldn't have done any better. I'll tell you this much, when I went to go see Justice, you know, when my journey to Georgia last month, I went to the four corners, I saw a dozen prospects, none of those guys committed to Texas, except for one. And that was Justice Terry, and he was the one that was the most imposing kid I had seen up close, big old paws, big head, big feet, and a big smile. I'm talking about a big country smile, and I talked to a couple of sources a couple of days ago, and they said, listen Justin, they think Georgia's still the school, but Texas is in this, Texas is making this interesting. And then what was it, about three weeks ago, one of the staffers from Texas, Chris Gilbert actually snuck into a game in Manchester, really went under the radar, and essentially this was Texas shooting their shot, and look, people said, hey Sarg, I don't know if you can keep that number one ranking, Sarg said, we got this, also give Kenny Baker his flowers. He went into his home state and picked one of the best defensive prospects in the country. You watched his tape again this morning, Charlie, tell me exactly what you see and how he can fit in this Texas scheme. First of all, he's the first person you want to get off the bus, because people, it may shake some people up, but you see him on film, he lines up at the one, the three, the five, the second technique, he can do it at any position on the defensive line. The guy's so versatile, he's so quick. You see him chase the ball from behind and go catch guys. You see him stop and read down rec and go chase his perimeter screens, right? Yeah. He creates such havoc getting into the backfield, it doesn't matter if you double triple team a guy, he's gonna finally get to the quarterback and get to the ball, as you just saw on this clip there, he rushed the passer, and then still made the tackle on the sideline. That's like 35, 40 yards away. This guy, I haven't seen a kid like this in such a long time. I'm talking maybe Judevia and Connie type of athletic abilities, right? He's just a big kid who can really get out there and you see him, he has a relentless motor. He uses his hands well. I mean, look, he's patient, he reads his keys and then attacks. He has great technique for a young guy already, you talking about a guy who's stepping and playing right away, because he gets it from a mental standpoint, and we know he's physically ready. Yes. Oh my God. Hey, let me give you a little bit of background. I got to know justice pretty well when I went to Manchester in November and give you a little bit of background. On his parents, phenomenal, and I think that's synonymous with a lot of these takes that Sark has been grabbing in the last couple of seasons. Really good family, really good core core core life there, unbelievable coaching staff at Manchester. It's a very small school. The head football coach is also the head basketball coach. He's also the assistant principal. They still have grass on their field in this small town, but that that didn't hurt justice Terry at all. Here's something else for just he's been getting offers since seventh grade, okay, and his first big offer was the Georgia Bulldogs in eighth grade. That's how long the, how long George has been in the mix. He was committed there at one time. He was committed to USC at one time, and then people asked, well, why did he wait till the very last minute of national signing day in that early signing window? Because he can. Dubai is a magnet for global entrepreneurs, seeking to leverage unparalleled opportunities, competitive financial incentives, and global talent and trade connections. Dubai's digital transformation sets the pace of change from the cutting edge solutions creating new possibilities to the green investments shaping a more sustainable future. Dubai stands out as a launch pad for success. That's what these recruits are going to do when they have that kind of leverage, and he was able to do that. And that gave Texas all the chance they needed to make up the slack, to get into it. Hey, tip of the cap to those guys, how let's just real quick, the three big guys that are on that defensive line, because that was the really the emphasis for this cycle was they've got to restock. They've been sending big dudes to the league for the last three years and Keanu Coburn, Moro Ojomo, Tavondre Sweatt, Byron Murphy, Alfred Collins and Vernon Broughton are headed that way in April. What does it do to restock the cupboard with these three in the 2025 class? You talk about all the guys that since the league, then you look at the next three. I'm not putting a lot of, I want to put back much expectations on them, right? Because I know that's high, because they get drafted. A lot of things have to go right, but they got the talent. If you look at some of them, they're all the same, they're big, they're athletic, they can run, they can move, they can fit and hold their gap. They couple them in each other so well. When a guy rotates out, the next one comes in and it can be just as dominant. You can play all three if you want to go to an old school, bare 50s front and just dominate and eat. You know what I mean? As young guys, they all look prototypical and they feel tight. I'm watching Josiah show him at first, I'll tell him he may be the next Chris Jones or Ken City Chiefs. Then this guy's like, wait a minute, okay. So you're looking at like three guys who can have potential to impact the game all game long. I feel sorry for the offensive line and quarterbacks and SEC because these young guys are going to come with their hunt. And Coach Kenny Baker got him three that can really, really go. I'm super excited. I'm super excited. Hey, you know what? We got to lick Kenny Bake on this one. He was taking it on the chin. Is this a bigger win? Brett Nelson. Not super chat. We sure appreciate your brother. Is this a bigger win than Colin Simmons? That's asking a lot because Colin filled a big need and void in the program over in this last season. Just named on three true freshmen, all American. They needed that pass rush really bad. And I think Simmons was was so needed in that regard. We're not going to know exactly if this is bigger yet. Let's let justice get in on campus. He's supposed to be an early enrollee. He should be there in January. Let's let him get into into spring ball and kind of, but that's a great question, Brett. I think from an optic standpoint, it might be. It might be because what you did, Georgia, the conventional wisdom tells us is the top of the SEC right now. I think that's what a lot of people find, mom, a lot of the SEC network that kind of proclaim Georgia is the top dog to go into their state, take their best player, a player of need. What did Georgia sign in 2025 at D line two guys? Yeah, there were a dozen defensive linemen in that state that you could really absolutely go with. Texas offered half of them. Walter Mathis, Kevin Nguyen, Joseph and Bach, you just go down the line, Texas went in there and stole Kirby's lunch money. Now right before 24 hours, about 24 hours before an SEC championship and the Georgia dome is going on. So what exactly this is going to help Texas finish more than likely with the number one recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. That's in SARC's fourth year. What did Matt Brown do in his fourth year of recruiting? Yeah, I gotta go back in time on the number one class. That's the 2000 class there. He's down the 2002 class, which was the benchmark for the national championship in 2005. Real quick, how of these three and especially Baker, who gets on the field first and who is going to be able to make a difference in an impact earliest. Well, look, one thing we've seen with SARC's coach SARC and his staff, if you're a young guy who can show leadership quality, you can play, they'll find a way to get you in rotation. So that's one thing we saw. The first four games a lot of young guys play who gets on the field first and they're so talented. Whoever just adapts to off season workouts and adapts to the playbook faster, honestly, who's ever more physically ready to play and more consistent with reading key assignments. But I think all three have a chance to play early as freshmen. They have the bill. They have everything that you're looking for. So who gets on the field first? That's a tough one, but they all three can play. And I don't want to include it. I know he's an edge, but I don't want to forget Mr. Les Jackson. I can't even say. You were talking about four guys, four NFL prototype guys on the front of four. Just let them go hard. Let's put them all four out there. Let them go. Well, what do we have? We had Roy B.J. and Slum of the three trio. And now we got, we got four D-Larmnic can go, put them all out there first and let them go hard. Hey, real quick. Let's get this paid. Chris Gilbert snuck into Manchester about three weeks ago for a football game, kind of went under the radar. And the sentiment from inside the program was, we're not going to give up on this kid. This is Sarc's plan. He plays the long game, build the relationships and plays a lot. Don't forget Kenny Baker was in Austin. His for his official visit, the week in Georgia beat Texas down. I think that was his third or fourth game on the road. And so it was almost a foregone conclusion that this kid was going to stay in state simply because Kirby couldn't let him leave the state. And so this is why you have to trust Sarc in this staff. They are going to play the long game. They're not going to pressure anybody. And you know, I think one of the biggest benefits of this, and this is where I want you to talk about because of your experience, keeping the evaluation going. Just maybe you don't get the kid when they commit in June or July. But Texas doesn't stop. They don't let up. A lot of schools will back off at that point. Texas doesn't do that. What they do is they continue to gather information. And by the time they get to October, November, December, they feel like they have enough information to continue to push, to make a final push, or to back off because maybe he doesn't turn out to be a fit. Maybe it's not good for the culture or for the locker room. In your experience, when it comes to that, how valuable is it to not pressure at times, especially a big kid like this, and to be able to convince him, look, we've loved you from the day one. We're just going to let you make your decision. We're not going to pressure you into this. How valuable is that for a kid that's really being bombarded by everyone for the last six months? Yeah, look, it's very important. Right. You won't have a, I say a natural relationship. You don't want to seem fake, right? Texas, this Texas staff does a great job of doing that. We always, I know people call start the closer, but it's true because he's genuine. It's real. It's a real relationship between coach and staff, parent and player. Texas is able to stay, as long as they're able to stay in it, I can make everybody relate to NCAA football. As long as they don't lock you out, you got a shot until Saturday to pin his paper, and you continue to gain ground on the leaders, and then once you get them there, you get everything they like, you hard sail, you go forward, right? And that's what the Texas staff does every single time with the big recruits. They identify the guys they want. They stay in the hunt. They stay in the mix. And when it's time to turn to the pressure and say, "Hey, this is who we need. We're going to go get them." They go big game hunting and they go get the guy. And so it's super important to do so. Just stay in the mix, stay in the loop, stay in contact with the kid or possibly that you're recruiting. And then when it's time to turn up the heat, turn up the heat. If you can stay within ground without hitting hard sail, you always got a chance, right? Because then you get a chance to over jump everybody else. And so that's what Texas is able to do with Mr. Terry. They were, man. I got to tell you. And we're going to be up front. We've been reporting for the last couple of weeks. Texas was legitimate in this, but we didn't really know. I don't think a lot of people really know. Auburn, I talked to an Auburn source a couple of days ago, they felt like they had an outside shot. They were going to get an opportunity. Georgia had some confidence as well, but when it was announced, he was going to do it on Friday, I think theirs became a little bit more apprehensive. A little bit more. Oh, I thought this guy was actually done. And now this is going to stretch out a little bit more. You get to Friday morning. Hey, the day before the SEC Championship, if Texas didn't have some serious momentum, which they do going into Atlanta, they certainly do now. They got the number one class in 2025. If you talk to sources close to that program, that was their goal. They won for this for this class. They were going to sign the number one class. I think Brandon Harris was on on in June with one of the other sites and basically said, we're going to have the top five class, if not the best class. And so that was their goal the entire time. Where do they move forward from here? What positions are we going to be looking at real quick as we wrap this up? Is this the best? Let's let Brett. Let's answer. Let's answer Brett. Another great question. The best D line at Edge Hall since when? Wow, you had to go back to, well, I don't think he was saying class, but that is a tough call. This might be the best. I mean, I'm thinking old school, Sean Rogers, Casey Hampton, Corey Redding, but oh, I also think in Jackson, Jeff coat, Malcolm Brown, right, kind of in that range, but I don't know if those guys were in the same cycle, so yeah, I'm really trying to piece together think about it. I don't know. Right. I mean, you could say, well, no, search or Henry was running back coming in. So he switched over to the end, so this may be, this may be your best D line ever since. I don't know where. And you said it earlier, Lance Jackson, yes, with this three, these guys up front, buddy, now you're cooking with Greece. This is Sartre. He is not screwing around. This is a big boy recruitment. I can't emphasize more, if this kid was in the state of Texas, it would be huge. The fact that they went into Georgia, probably the premier program in college football at this moment, at this moment, they went into Georgia and took the best prospect they've had in years. He's coming to Austin. He's going to play there. Well, thank you so much, viewers for tuning in and checking in AR. Sartre is not messing around. You were right. Bleeping is a good word. I got to make sure we bleep, because my man Connor's looking back and he'll get on to me. But I want to thank you so much for making us a part of your day. Thank you so much for reading the decision preview. Thank you so much for reading our morning recruiting humidor where we talked about we thought Texas had a really good shot. We just didn't know where it was going to go. We really didn't. We're honest about that, but we knew Texas was in it. We knew the program was making a final push. Looks like they made the right push. Hey, thank you again for joining us, Charlie. Thank you so much for jumping on, giving us that coaching outlook and experience. It's always valued. That's why we love you.
