Today we're celebrating the thrill of a well-executed trick shot and the joy of sharing with others. Whether it's a half-court basketball shot, clever pool maneuver or a complex ping-pong setup, a trick shot adds a dash of the extraordinary to the world of sports. It's not just about athleticism, it's also about creativity, precision and sometimes a bit of luck. On World Trick Shot Day we celebrate these stunning feats that entertain and amaze us. So why not try your hand at a trick shot today? You never know you might just find a hidden talent. Wasn't there a commercial at one time like with Larry Bird and Michael Jordan? Yes. And they were going all over the place doing these crazy tricks. Off the wall, over the rafters. I actually have that commercial up right now. Really? Yes. Off the floor, off the scoreboard, off the playing board, no rim. On the second rafter, off the floor, got the fitness. Switching gears, let's focus on a different kind of giving, the kind that comes from the heart. National Day of Giving, often referred to as Giving Tuesday, is a day dedicated to generosity and goodwill. This global movement encourages us to give back in any way we can, whether it's making a financial donation, volunteering our time, or simply performing an act of kindness. In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's a heartfelt reminder of the power of giving. So on this National Day of Giving, let's make the world a bit brighter by sharing what we can with others. My wife and I, we like to do the angel trees. So how does that work? Basically, anonymous people will have their sizes and interests put on little cards and you hang them on a tree at your work. Okay. You just pick them and you just buy something that kind of fits those categories and that goes to a family in need. So they must be coded these cards somehow, so somebody can sort it out later. Right. Yeah. The agents here, when I will know who's gonna get it. Okay. That's very cool. I'm Chris Fandy-Venter. I'm Marlo Henderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our adventure zones, Facebook, and Instagram, that destination celebration show. Until next time, keep celebrating. And speaking of National Day of Giving, our neighbors in Western North Carolina are still reeling from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters has partnered with the United Way to help rebuild their lives. On this National Day of Giving, please give to United for Western NC at UnitedForNC.org. Your donation and partnership with the United Way will directly support unmet needs in these communities. Please support those who have suffered so much by giving to UnitedForNC.org today. Furnished by North Carolina Association of Broadcasters on this station. Now let's see who's celebrating on our birthday club. Yes, I have the names. Oh, look at this. Three names for the third. Well, that's nice. How that worked out. Happy birthday to Becky Scottin, John Stovall, and Mary Ann Bennett, all with her birthday today. That's Becky Scottin, John Stovall, and Mary Ann Bennett. I need those names for the rest of December. That would be the fourth through 31st. And I'm also taking January birthdays and you can text them to me anytime at 336-932-1881. Get those in and let me know who's celebrating. I do mention all birthdays on this podcast on Monday, Sunday and Monday, then all through the week, then on Friday, Friday and Saturday. And at the end of the week, we have our weekly drawing and a nice giveaway. 932-1881 for the birthday club. Let's check on some big name birthdays today. We have Julian Moore and Daryl Henna, 64, Aussie, Osborne, 76, Benny Hinn, is 72. I'm really excited about my special guest tomorrow on Rocco Live award-winning songwriter Rick Lang, his latest album, Blue Collard Gospel, features some of today's top bluegrass vocalists. So we'll be listening to some of those songs tomorrow and be getting a little background information on some of that music from Rick. In today's music spotlight, I have my favorite song from That's What I Love About Christmas. This was in 2015, named the Holiday Song of the Year, by the International Music and Entertainment Association. Candy canes and mistletoe, presents wrapped in big red bows, little men made out of snow, charcoal, lion button nose, that's what I love about Christmas. Building blocks and wooden trains, little drums and model planes, Santa holding on the reins, clinging to a sweet refrain, that's what I love about Christmas. Caprile singing, bells are ringing, lights are twinkling, people bringing, gifts and goodies everywhere they go. Old man winter, candles, glamour, fancy dinner, come get in here, kick your roots off, get out of the hole. The steaming cup of cocoa tastes delicious, that's what I love, that's what I love about Christmas. [Music] [Music] Hats and mittens, woolly scarves, hanging up the greeting cards, shepherds underneath the stars and wise men coming from afar, that's what I love about Christmas. Caprile singing, bells are ringing, lights are twinkling, people bringing, gifts and goodies everywhere they go. Old man winter, candles, glamour, fancy dinner, come get in here, kick your roots off, get out of the hole. The steaming cup of cocoa tastes delicious, that's what I love, that's what I love, that's what I love, that's what I love about Christmas. Oh yeah, that's Annie Selig, again my live visit with songwriter Rick Lang is Wednesday at 11. Listen wherever you get podcasts including iHeartRadio. Now today's motivation or moment thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management Raymond James and Madison. The simplest things are overlooked and yet it is the simplest things that are the most essential. Thank you friends for listening, I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday bundle up out there, Stokes County Schools on a three hour delay this morning, no problems apparently driving issues around Rockingham County according to 911 but other areas of the triad having some real issues today.
