As the country heads toward the end of the year holidays, consumers continue to express confidence in the U.S. economy. In November, the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index rose to 111.7, marking a two-point increase from October's reading. Coffee prices have begun to rise. Major coffee producers have expressed concern about this year's crop because of a drought in Brazil and major flooding in Vietnam. A smaller coffee yield means coffee roasters will pay more. And you know what that means, so will consumers. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants to make big changes in food production, removing dyes and chemicals. Would that make food more expensive? Food industry experts say it probably would, but would also make some food products healthier and taste better. I'm Mark Huffman. Learn more at consumeraffairs.com. Welcome to December 2nd on the National Day Calendar. Today we're celebrating a delicious, crispy treat and honoring our beloved four-legged friends. There's something irresistible about a well-made fritter. Whether sweet or savory, this versatile dish has a place in many world cuisines. But it's simplest if fritter is a portion of dough, meat, seafood, fruit or vegetables that's been battered and fried to golden perfection. From the apple fritters of the United States to the pakoras of India, fritters are a testament to the delicious results of combining simple ingredients with a hot pan of oil. On National Fritter's Day, let's indulge in these crispy delights that demonstrate that sometimes the simplest foods can be the most satisfying. Do I smell banana fritters with fresh fruit compote? No. Could I? Do you have any favorite fritters? I love pakoras. I like smashing up plantains and frying them up. Oh, those are really, really good. Okay. But if it's fried, I will eat it. It doesn't matter. No, just fine. Interesting. Yes. Now let's turn our attention to some special members of our families. They may not have a fancy pedigree, but what they lack in purebred status, they make up for it with their unique charm and boneless love. Mutts or mixed breed dogs often have the best traits of various breeds, making them wonderfully diverse in appearance and temperament. On National Mutt Day, we celebrate these special dogs that bring joy, companionship, and unconditional love into our lives. Whether you have a mutt of your own or are considering adopting, today is a great day to show these incredible animals the love they deserve. Mutts are just so loving and adorable. I mean, I'd like the fact that we have two mutt days. We do one in the summer. Oh, yeah, yeah. We do one in December. Yeah. I mean, it's, they're important. I'm a mutt. Yeah. We need some love too. Everyone needs a little love. Oh, who's a good boy? I'm Chris Van Daventer. I'm Michael Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our adventures on Facebook and Instagram at Destination Celebration Show. Until next time, keep celebrating. I think maybe they've been in the eggnog already this morning. Let's see who's celebrating. The birthday club. Oh my goodness. I'm glad you're not in the studio with me. My desk is kind of cluttered with all of the birthdays. So we're going to get caught up on everything. Now I did all of the birthdays for the start of the week, the 17th through 20th. So I've got those right here in a all paper clip together. So I'm going to add them to our drawing. We're going to finish up that week. So this is the week of the 17th through 23rd. And I've got the names now for the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Yep. Our last podcast was on Wednesday. So here we go for a Thursday, Stephen Pulliam, Catalina Stegall. Okay, we're doing actually Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Okay. So for the 21st, Stephen Pulliam. For the 22nd, Catalina Stegall, and April Robinette. For the 23rd, Jacob Mammon, Elliot Dalton, and Lance Metzler. Didn't have any on the 22nd. No, I didn't miss. Yeah. I had the one on the 22nd. Okay. Am I confused? No, I actually have them in order, but I'm not telling them in order apparently here. So I have the names here for the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Okay. And I've added those to the first part of the week. So now let me put all of these together. And I think I'm still on Nassau time here perhaps, which is not bad. Okay. It's all good down here. And here's our winner for that week. And it goes back to the 22nd, April Robinette. Congratulations to April. Okay. Now let me make sure I have what I need here. Oh yeah. Here are the names for the full week that we were awake. So this is November 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. Okay. So I've got all of those. And then we'll have a drawing and have the winner for last week. And then we'll be just about caught up and get into December. All right. For the 24th, Kevin Scotten, Chris Tuttle, 25th, Cody Muncie, David Hall on the 26th, Mira Lee Landreth, Todd Pearson at Blue Octopus Antiques and Artisans, Thaddeus Rogers, Annette McCubbins at head to toe, let's see, none on the 27th, and I've got a couple on the 28th, J.R. Cecil at Liberty Tax, Rodney Carter, and on the 29th, Lily Foley. And then to finish up the week and the month, the 30th, I have Connor Bridges and Casey Vincent. Okay. So that's all of last week, Sunday through Saturday as normal. Okay. I would have done that last Friday. Had we been here, but I tell you, we went on a carnival cruise. Yeah, I can't wait to tell you more about that. But let's see here our winner for last week is the 30th, oh, it's Connor Bridges. Okay, Connor, congratulations to you. Now let me put all of those names aside here and we'll get current now with our birthdays for this week, like back to normal, Sunday and Monday names. For December 1st, Danielle Williams, Harley Travis, and Hannah Mammon. Also Diana Dean in Stokesdale. And then one name for December 2nd, and that's Hazel Hopper. Congratulations on your birthdays. We'll say, actually, congratulations to our winner at the end of the week as usual when I'll have a drawing for all of the names this week. So that would be December 1st through 7th, okay? Kind of like a normal week again. All right, Diana Dean, Hannah Mammon, Harley Travis, Danielle Williams, and Hazel Hopper. All right. That starts us off. But these names over here, because they'll be in our drawing on Friday. Now, oh, a reminder, I need names for December 2nd through 31st. No, I'm sorry, December 3rd through 31st, December 3rd through 31st. Yeah, that's what I need. I just did the 1st and 2nd. I think I know their nap would be very nice.
