"Alright, we're all set for the party. I've trimmed the tree, hung the mistletoe, and paired all those weird-shaped knives and forks with the appropriate cheeses. And I plugged in the Bartetian." "Bartetian?" "It's a home cocktail maker that makes over 60 premium cocktails, plus a whole lot of seasonal favorites too. I just got it for 50 off. So, how 'bout a clasma-palatin? Or a mistletoe margarita?" "I'm thirsty." "Watch." "I just pop in a capsule, choose my strength, and…" "Wow. It's beginning to feel more seasonal in here already." If your holiday party doesn't have a bartender, then you become the bartender. Unless you've got a Bartetian, because Bartetian crafts every cocktail perfectly, in as little as 30 seconds. And I just got it for $50 off. "Tis the season to be jolly-er." Add some holiday flavor to every celebration, with the sleek, sophisticated home cocktail maker Bartetian. Pick up your phone and shake it to get $50 off any cocktail maker. "Yes, you heard me. Shake your phone and get $50 off. Don't delay." Whether you're planning for a family get-together or celebrating on the go this year, why stress when you can shop for less at Family Dollar? Family Dollar, helping you do more. "I wish you meant to do nothing you dismayed." Just Colorado's Morning News, Marty Lenz, Gina Gondek, Good Morning, and a special guest in our studio right now, also known as The Sage. He is our colleague, Rhett Saunders. From downstairs at KBCO, he is here because it is studio sea time around the holidays. "It's studio season, you guys get it? Yes, I totally get it. I always love having conversations with you." "That's nice to you to say. I enjoy you too. It's Marty, right? It is. It's Marty." "You're the best." "M-A-R-T-Y." "No, I love having these conversations with you about the music and about studio sea and what it means, especially this time of year." "Yeah. No kidding. Tomorrow at 7 a.m. at select King Super's locations, we're going to be selling these discs and they benefit Food Bank of the Rockies, as they have for a long time. Older County A's Project and the Kroger Zero, Hunger Zero Waste Foundation. So we have these phenomenal people that we love to donate to because so many KBCO listeners and 850 KOA listeners line up at these... Well, it's going to be King Super's, you know, it was Whole Foods for a long time. It's King Super's this year. They line up. They get these discs before they sell out and they will sell out because there are only a limited number of these discs of music recorded in KBCO Studio C. "I've read volume 36. That's an awesome, awesome to begin with, volume 36." "I can't believe it." "And the R-Orc this year. I love it. It's very, very cute and I also saw that you guys had some ornaments." "You know, I'm so glad that you brought that up because I brought each of you an ornament. These are actually the ornaments they gave to me to put on our tree, but I don't even know if I'm comfortable saying this. You didn't put up a tree. No. Well, you..." "I have an eyelid." "I think, I think our cats in APA." "Aww." "Knottly, I love him. I love him, but I think that he's a Satanist because every time we try to put up a tree, it gets ripped down in the night. That's a pagan kitty." "That'd be a good band name, pagan kitty." "I like that." "So anyway, yeah, we do have a limited number of these ornaments to hand out and you can't see them. Well, actually, if you go to KBCO.com, you can see them. And for people who were in line early tomorrow morning at these 10 Select King Supers locations, look at their hands on these beautiful sparkly ornaments. Listen to this thing as it drops." "Wow. That is really metal." "It's like a weapon." "Why? It's funny you should say that, Marty, because it can be utilized as a weapon." "This is an awesome lineup of artists from Studio C this year. If you want to highlight some of them, I mean, one of my favorites, I literally walked down the aisle to a camp song. So I was really happy to see them on there as well." "Really?" "Yeah." "Which camp song?" "Lavender Girl." "That's a nice one." "Yeah, I love it." "Nice guys." "I love it. Peach Fuzz is a good one too." "Yes, Peach Fuzz from Camp. Margo Price. Are you too familiar with Margo Price?" "I am not." "Well, she is." "Well, you brilliant." "It's one of my favorite artists in a band called Good Neighbors. We're listening to Marcus King and what else? Michael Marcheji, Tedevki Trucks Band. This is such a good disc. Kaleo from Iceland. Do you know they have bands in Iceland?" "I know. Pretty good soccer team too, from what I understand. What is... I probably ask you the same question every year. When you ask an artist to say, "Hey, come perform and we'd like to put it on the disc." Do they have to... It's like they're beating the doors down because I imagine everyone wants to be a part of this, right? "Well, I would hope so. I think that we have to go to the record label. It's not the artist because we have to license the music from that artist. It's very often, in my opinion. The performances that we have in KBC of Studio C, the intimacy, the warmth of those performances surpass what the artists often record in a sterile recording environment. That's one of the things I love the best about this great Colorado tradition. It's almost as much of a tradition as 850KOA, news talk sports, also 94.1 FM, by the way. But online, just ask it to play KOA and I Heart Radiance. Go ahead, you're going to say... Like you mentioned, people line up for these every year and they'll be dropping at King Super Stores tomorrow morning. Do you see some same people every year that maybe have all 35 of KBCO Studio C? We do. We have people over the years who have camped out at the various locales where we have sold the discs for charity purposes. And I would say about once a week I meet someone who says, "I have everyone except for number 9. Do you have number 9 in your car so I can have it?" And by the way, I do not have number 9 in my car. I might have some 34s in the trunk, so I'm 34. Yes, sir. No, I was going to say two things leap to mind with this. Of these 36 volumes, and I should know this, how many of you have been around for? And is it still nice to get a CD versus downloading it, having a physical CD you can play? Well, see what you just did there as a fellow interviewer is you bombarded me with two million cars? I'm sorry. I started 1997. It was volume 10. I remember it like it was yesterday. And what was the other question? She said, "This is what happens. I am so old." My boss gives me half of that. It's a hard copy to find that you have. You can put your hand. I knew what the question was. No, but it's like I can physically feel it's, you know, and everything else besides. There's something about that tactile thing, right? To be able to touch a thing and you own this thing and it becomes part of your family, part of your collection. By the way, CDs are coming back. I'm going to die on this hill. I will die here. Compact discs are the absolute best. I mean, vinyls did, so why not CDs too? Vinyl's great if you enjoy expense. I've always said that. If you enjoy spending a lot of money on things that are inconvenient, it's the greatest. Right. But compact discs are something special. Right. Yes, we have a limited number of these tomorrow. Select King Supers locations. KBCO Studio C Volume 36. Great. Goes on sale 7 AM. That's right. King Supers, like you mentioned. That's right. Including the Denver King Supers Office of Colorado Boulevard, which KOA listeners should know because that's where we did our food drive, holiday food drive a couple weeks ago. Yep, that's my King Supers, by the way. I love it. That's where I shop. Find more at kbco.com. And Brett will have all the additions of the volumes in his car. So ask him for Volume 1, Volume 17. He carries them all. Ask for the Saunders Trunkie. I love you, my friend. That's nice. I love you too. Mean it. Mean it. Brett Saunders, KBCO of The Sage. Thank you. Thank you. All right. We're all set for the party. I've trimmed the tree, hung the mistletoe, and paired all those weird shaped knives and forks with the appropriate cheeses. And I plugged in the Bartisian. Bartisian? It's a home cocktail maker that makes over 60 premium cocktails, plus a whole lot of seasonal favorites too. I just got it for 50 off. So, how about a Cosmopolitan? Or a mistletoe margarita? I'm thirsty. Watch. I just pop in a capsule, choose my strength, and… Wow. It's beginning to feel more seasonal in here already. If your holiday party doesn't have a bartender, then you become the bartender. Unless you've got a Bartisian, because Bartisian crafts every cocktail perfectly. And as little as 30 seconds. And I just got it for $50 off. Tis the season to be… jolly-er. Add some holiday flavor to every celebration, with a sleek, sophisticated home cocktail maker, Bartisian. Pick up your phone and shake it to get $50 off any cocktail maker. Yes, you heard me. Shake your phone and get $50 off. Don't delay.
