This is AP News, I'm Rita Folle. Donald Trump's hush money trial resumes this morning. David Packer will be back on the stand. The AP said Donahue with what he said yesterday. At former President Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York, a former tabloid publisher testified he scooped up possibly damaging stories to shield his old friend. David Packer says he paid out tens of thousands of dollars to keep those stories from the public eye. The testimony is a critical building block. For the prosecution's theory, the Trump-Packer partnership was a way to illegally influence the 2016 presidential election. I'm Ed Donahue. Jeremy Cooper, a former Aurora Colorado fire rescue paramedic will be sentenced today after being convicted in the death of Elijah McLean, a black man who died after a police stop during which he was injected with the sedative ketamine. Three responders have been convicted in his death. There have been hundreds of arrests on college campuses as students protest Israel's war with Hamas. One big university is now canceling a graduation ceremony. The AP's Jackie Quinn has the latest on this story. ♪ We call, good night, and we'll never be the pre-ed ♪ Student demonstrations and tensions are growing on the Los Angeles campus. USC has announced the big May 10th commencement ceremony is now canceled. It comes a day after 90 people were arrested on campus. One was cited for having a weapon. There will still be dozens of individual school ceremonies that day with caps, gowns, and diplomas. But the main event is canceled, as was the valedictorian speech announced last week. Prompting anger among some students, I'm Jackie Quinn. The government says this will help prevent food poisoning. Poultry producers will be required to bring salmonella bacteria in some chicken products to very low levels. This is AP News. NASA astronauts have now arrived at the Kennedy Space Center for Boeing's first human space flight. The AP's Norman Hall has the latest on this story. The two NASA astronauts assigned to Boeing's first human space flight have arrived at their launch site just over a week before their schedule liftoff. Butch Wilmore and Sonny Williams will serve as test pilots for Boeing's Starliner capsule, which is making its debut with crew after years of delay. Due to blast-off May 6 atop an Atlas rocket, the Starliner will fly to the International Space Station for a week-long shakedown cruise. Boeing is trying to catch up to SpaceX, which has been launching astronauts for NASA since 2020. No one was aboard Boeing's two previous Starliner test flights. I'm Norman Hall.
