USC has announced the big May 10th commencement ceremony is now canceled. It comes a day after 90 people were arrested on campus, one was cited for having a weapon. There will still be dozens of individual school ceremonies that day with caps, gowns, and diplomas, but the main event is canceled as was the valedictorian speech announced last week. Prompting anger among some students, I'm Jackie Quinn. - David Pekker returns to the witness stand today in Donald Trump's Hush Money Trial, the AP Zed Donahue. - At former President Donald Trump's Hush Money Trial in New York, a former tabloid publisher testified he scooped up possibly damaging stories to shield his old friend. David Pekker says he paid out tens of thousands of dollars to keep those stories from the public eye. The testimony is a critical building block for the prosecution's theory. Now to a new tax on tourists visiting Venice, Italy, the AP's Karen Shamas with this story. - The popular and fragile Lagoon City of Venice is charging five euro for day trippers to enter as the city grapples with over tourism. Tourists flood the walkway outside of Venice's central train station. The entrance fee of over $5 has been introduced by authorities in the hope that it will discourage visitors from arriving on peak days. The idea is that it will make the city more livable for its dwindling residents. Simone Venturini, Venice's municipal councillor for tourism. - We need to find a balance, a new balance between the tourist and the resident. - Residents opposing the day trip attacks insist that the solution to Venice's woes are to boost the resident population and the services they need by limiting short-term rentals and boosting housing.
