Tell It Avs It Is - Jets Losing Altitude - R1 - G3 - S4

The Avalanche completely overwhelm the Jets for five goals in the third period for a 6-2 win in Game 3, and take control with a 2-1 series lead. When the Avalanche get going the Jets just can't do anything to stop them, and Hellebuyck gives up five goals again while Georgiev once again makes the saves he needed to give the Avs a chance. With balanced scoring, strong special teams, suffocating forechecking, and the Jets getting frustrated, is there anything to improve upon for Game 4? Finally around the NHL, has this first round been a disappointment so far? On the hockey podcast network. Here's your hosts, Griffin Youngs, and Kristin Boulay. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to another edition of the Tell it Abs It Is podcast on the hockey podcast network. I'm Griffin Youngs joined by Christian Boulay as always. Ooh, boy, folks. Oh, my goodness. This, this team. They've got a little something cooking right now. The Avalanche win six to two over the Winnipeg Jets in game three and take a two-to-one series lead down to one going into the third period. And they just overwhelmed the Jets in every conceivable way. The Jets crumble into dust. The Avalanche score five goals in the third period. And wow, wow, this team. Yeah, and we're going to get out in front of this a little early here. I am recording through AirPods. As many of you know, I'm traveling for a wedding. So if the audio is a little bit bad on my end, I apologize. But like you said, man, this team, when they get going, there are not... What's another team that you think can stop them when the abs are playing like that? Maybe the Panthers, maybe? When they're going like that, it's tough, man. I don't know. That's tough. I mean, if you're the Jets, how do you feel right now after crumbling in the third period? I mean, the Jets completely fell apart. They completely fall apart in the third period, penalty after penalty. And really, none of them are up for debate. Those were pretty obvious penalties. And the Avalanche take full advantage and just pile it on one after another, after another, after another, and they put up five on Connor Hellabuck for the third time this series again. Dude, it's just one of those things where I didn't think Connor Hellabuck was bad in this game. Like, I thought he was good. It's just, it's what we said in game one. Every single abs goal they've scored, I still don't think they've scored a flooky one this series, where it's just been like a crazy bounce go their way. They're just highly skilled plays and they're just finding ways to finish. And yeah, I didn't think Connor Hellabuck was great in game two. I thought he was really good through the first 20, 40 minutes of this game. And the abs are just that talented offensively that they're going just to overpower you. And when all four lines are playing like they've been playing in these past two games, that you could even go back to game one, this team is going to be very hard to stop. Yeah, I think I draw the same conclusion from this game. I drew from the first two. The avalanche are better than the jets. The avalanche are outplaying the jets. Every line going head to head is outplaying the jets. Every single person in this lineup is pulling their weight. Whether it's Nathan McKinnon playing 20 plus minutes, or you're talking about even a guy like Kogliano, who's playing seven or Du Haim, who's playing seven. Every single person in this lineup is doing something to contribute to this team, getting those results that they've gotten in the last two games. It's going to list off all the guys who just recorded a point in this game. Parisi, Kogliano, Nitchushkin, Colton, McKinnon, middle stat, Leckenin, Rantonin, Taze, McCar, Manson, and Gerard. That's a lot of guys. That's a lot of guys. That's depth scoring you did not have last year in the playoffs. That's depth scoring you didn't have in the regular season, dude. Yeah, but it was always there. You knew they had the potential for it, just for some reason in the regular season. It wasn't jelling together the way our brains expected it to. And now it is. The Avalanche have put together a system right now that the jets are doing their damnedest in. Like I've got respect for the jets and how hard they're playing in this series, but they just when the abs get going, they have not had an answer for them. And Wingi Orgyev is doing his job and making the saves like he has in the last two games. It's just another advantage for them. And I fucking loved the love Georgiev got in this game from the abs crowd back in ball arena. And I thought he was good today. I mean, the first goal against was bad. He got tricked and guessed wrong thinking it was a pass and flinched and got put in at the side of the goal. Second one, there's four layers of a screen in front of him. But by my count, that's only two. If you're only giving up two in a playoff game, odds of you winning that game are pretty good. And it's like we said back in game one, our expectations for Georgiev are not for him to be at 960 every night. We just need nine, 10, 905 goal tending in this team will win a ton of games. That's all we need. We're not asking for him to be this superstar goal. Just be competent in that. Just give him the chance. Yeah, I don't have the stats. What did he end up finishing? You stopped 23 to 25. He finishes with a 917 in this game. He stops 22 on 24 shots. And overall, the biggest turning point of this game. It's two one jets. The abs are kind of on their heels a little bit. The jets are pushing. Tyler Tefoli has a breakaway. Stopped. Stopped the bleeding right then and there could have been 3-1. Things could have completely gone off the rails. Georgiev, that's the biggest point of this entire game. The bleeding stops right there. Yeah, two goals went in. One of them was bad. He stops the bleeding. That's what you didn't get in game one. You got a save. That's sometimes all you need. You just need a save to slow things down the abs. Right after that save, start playing a little bit better to end the second period and it sets them up. They're only down one goal. You think this team's going to go 20 minutes in the third period playing the way they are and not get a goal? You'd be wrong. They got five because this is a good fucking team. It's actually great. Like that game should not have been as casual as it was watching the final five minutes. Like the game was over with seven minutes left. It was just that shouldn't happen in the playoffs and it's to wrap up on Georgiev. I got to give the new credit. I know we gave him his flowers after game two. This hopefully is not just a fluke two games. Hopefully he can continue this for the next. However long the series is going but he's bounced back man and he saved his job. He probably saved his career in Colorado with these past two games. Granted, they're still in other two wins. They have to go in the series and however many more they have than the rest of the playoffs but so far after that, one of the worst goaltending performances of all time, he's out dueling Connor Hellbuck. Yeah and that's something we think. We were mean to Georgiev in game one. Go head over to Manitoba right now and see how they're treating Connor Hellbuck at the moment. They are ripping that dude a new one for it. Given up five in every single game so far, this series. And Georgiev in these playoffs, the way they've gone through the first six days, I don't think there's a better story in the league right now than Alex Georgiev. He got ripped in game one and we were all on him. We were all like this dude's done here. He should not play again. And to be honest, if Anadon's healthy for game two, he probably doesn't but he got a chance. He got an opportunity to play in game two. He had a chance to take it all back and he did. How can you not love that? That's awesome, absolutely incredible. That's like that that's the quintessential sports story. That's the kind of shit you root for every single time. I could not be happier for him. There's no one on this team I'm rooting for harder than Georgiev. I really, really hope he keeps this up because this has been a hard year for him. There's been a very much really hard year over the last couple of months and game one was rock bottom. And I will always, always root for people that climb up from rock bottom. And god damn it, he is, I love him. I fucking love him right now. I love him right now. Call me after the playoffs. We'll never know. But he's bounced back and he's done something that I don't think anyone was when we were predicting the series would have thought he has outdoor Connor Hell book so far. He's been better than Connor Hell book. And that's really hard to do considering he had what? A .69 save percentage in the first game. Yep. And Connor Hell book, I mean, in this game, he was really good for 40 minutes. The only one that beat him was a juicy rebound for Zach Parisi goal. And then I didn't think anyone in particular was his fault. No goals. But he couldn't make the saves that he needed to make. He couldn't bail the jets out of all the constant mistakes that they were making and Georgie have won the goaltending duel. And the abs win the special teams duel. And when you do both of those, you're probably going to win. Yeah, you're probably going to win, man. And this is that point you were making at the beginning, like the abs are better than the jets. And when we say that we're not saying the abs are going to win this series, it's just the abs are the better team. They just need to play their game and they will win this series. I don't think that's a hot take. It's not. I don't think it is. I mean, you look back now at the regular season, the jets out scored the abs 17 to four and won all three of those games. And doing math up top my head, the abs are at 17 goals now in this series. Are they not? Six, six, six. Are they only a five in game two? I thought they had six in game two. Six, it was seven, six, five, two, six, two. Math up top my head, that's 17, correct? Never claimed to be smart. It's also two am. But yeah, that's 17. Math's right in your head. I'm like 14 beers deep at this point. So math is not my friend. Yeah, even even simple addition at a point like this, it is hard on the show. Back to the point through three games in the playoffs, the abs have put up 17 goals on the jets. So far, this series is just completely devaluing the regular season for me. We already knew that that you throw away the regular season in the playoffs, but for fuck's sake, it just makes it. It makes it seem not at all important because if you were a new hockey fan and you're just watching these three games, the abs should be the best team in the NHL. Their offense can't be stopped and their depth is so good. Their second line is great. Their third line is great. Their fourth line is great. And you're just sitting there and you're like, "Oh wait, the regular season, there were a lot of bumps and bruises." And this series is far from over. The abs are halfway done with the series. They should be up 3-0 in this series. They should. There should be a 3-0 series. If Giorgia makes two more sakes in game one, they're up 3-0 in the series. They've been the better team than the Winnipeg Jets. And when it comes to Sunday, if they can win and take a 3-1 series lead, worst case, this is done by game six, worst case. If you defend your home eyes, you're going back to Winnipeg with a chance to close that series out. Simple as, and the Jets, they're frustrated. They're really frustrated right now. Because when the abs have put it together, they haven't been able to stop them. Things have been going great for the Jets when they establish their game and start running their forecheck and moving the puck up the ice and doing all this and that. But when the abs figure it out, they got nothing. They really got nothing. They got the win in game one, because even when the abs were figuring out, they were still able to put the puck in the net. But the last two games, the abs have been beaten hella-buck. And the Jets have been getting rattled. This is where playoff experience really does make a difference, where the abs have been able to make those deep runs and had to overcome a lot of things. And the Jets have been in the playoffs. You know, and Mark Schifley was on the team that went on the run to the conference final a couple of years ago. This team's been in the playoffs, but they haven't been able to take that next step. And you can probably point to stuff like this as to why. That kind of shit loses you playoff games. You get into penalty trouble incredibly early in the third period. You don't stop getting into penalty trouble. Your penalty kill cannot save you. And they're blown out after going into the third with the lead. With the lead, with the lead. They added two to one lead going into the third period. And the abs score five straight. And I just want to re-emphasize this point. The series is not over. It's far from over. It is far from over. It would not chuck me in the least if the series still go seven games. But the point I'm making is if the abs lose this series, it will be because of the abs. I don't think it's going to be anything the Jets do that can stop the abs from winning the series. Yeah, I think the Jets tried to make some adjustments in this game. And for certain points, it worked. I thought there were some points that the Jets did a good job slogging up the neutral zone and slowing the abs down and transition pretty early. And then when they got it going in the second period. But what adjustment do you make to that? The simple fact, all four of your lines are getting outperformed. Like you don't have a line that you can throw out there and be like, all right, boys, go get this one back for us because line for line, depth for depth, especially right now when the abs have last change, they got nothing. They've got nothing. And if Helibux is not bailing them out, the abs can play when Georgia gives up a bad goal that Jets can't. They can't. I mean, the abs are used to it at this point. He gives up one bad goal of game. But it's just one of those things, man, where I don't know how the abs can lose this series. Well, I know how the abs can lose this series, but they still are just waiting on that Nathan McKinnon masterclass game. He was good in this game, two points, two or three points. But the depth has just been the difference in this series. And like you said at the beginning of the show, this is something the abs did not have last year. Because two points for Nathan McKinnon last year maybe gets you a two to one victory. Maybe you need a big goal tending performance. And you would need someone else to step up and come through for that, because that just wouldn't have cut it last year. And McKinnon was held off the board until the third period in this game. And I thought he was still really good through the first 40 minutes. He dinged the post twice. He had several opportunities on the rush. But going into the third, I think we were all in agreement was like, the abs big guns need to come through here. They've got their depth goal. They got a goal from Zach Parisi. They need their big guys to come through here. And right away third period, they need a chance on the power play. And they take advantage of it immediately. McKinnon rockets it right home. His second goal of the series assisted by Rantinen. Nachushkin right on the four minute power play after Taze gets high-sticked, set up by Rantinen and McKinnon. And it's curtains from there. They set the table, Lekinen and Colton and finish it off right after that. And it's not fair when the abs are getting depth scoring. Because if they get depth scoring, they're just as good as any team in the league, man. And that's really my big storyline so far through three games. And if the abs continue to get this depth scoring throughout the rest of the playoffs, they're going to go far. Because if Casey Middlestad's playing like he played tonight, and you get Jonathan Drew and back, fingers crossed, well, honestly, we're thinking way ahead. But you add Jonathan Drew and back into this lineup, watch out, watch out. Because that the way they're missing guys, missing Drew and like, Zach Parisi has come into the top six and he's been fantastic. And obviously you look at that on paper and have your doubts. He's playing everywhere. And he is been a workhorse for them. He is doing everything they're asking of him. You put Drew and back into this lineup. Girard comes back into this lineup today and he looks great. Big spark plug on the defense. I see too, like one of those. Dude, I love that. I noticed that too. Like San Girard compared like the last couple of playoff runs. He's been kind of docile. I don't know if that's the right word to use, but he's been kind of reserved. And in this game, like when Peonk took that penalty and Sam Girard just gets in his face screaming, that's fucking awesome. Like Sam Girard with an edge to him is dangerous. He's dangerous. And it's not to be like not set out loud. The reason why the average were comfortable trading bow by him was because the way Sam Girard had looked this year. And you add a healthy Sam Girard back into lineup and he is just such a difference maker for this team man. His physicality stepped up this year and him and Manson just work better together than I think Manson and Taves because they played together all year. That's not saying anything gets Taves, but you play them together and oh wait, you have Sean Walker who's been good this series too. He's your third pair of defensemen at this point. They're loaded on the back end. Jack Johnson, I think how many minutes do you end up playing tonight? Like 10 if that? Yeah, Jack ended up playing in this game about 12 minutes, almost 13 at that point. How much? How much do you always have any defensemen, but how much is Sean Walker play? Walker played 14-12. I would like to see Sean Walker a couple of minutes, but that's what happens with Sam Girard gets back into the lineup. Well, it's also what happens if he played the entire third period on the power play. That's true. That is a big difference. That's a big difference. But the abs are getting pieces back. It does worry me though that Drewann, they just said the end of the first round that maybe this is maybe a longer term if the abs can get out of the first round. You never know. But Zach Parisi's been great stepping up. I like how Bednar is so flexible with his lines that he realized Parisi wasn't working on the top line, bumps him down to the second line. And I think that line's been... That line was the difference maker in this game, man. Like Casey Middlestad was phenomenal in this game. He gets the first star and he's so damn good, dude. He's fantastic. This was his best game as an Ab. I don't even think it's close. Not that he's had a ton of bad games as an Ab, but he was. He existed on a different level tonight. If I didn't know better, no fucking way that's Middlestad's third ever playoff game. No way. He looks so comfortable, so confident with the puck. It looks effortless with him. All the stuff he does is so casual. I wrote it down in my notes from the first period and I sent out the tweet as well as everything he does is so casual. He has no tells in his game. You don't really know what he's going to do. And you can see the Jets trying to scramble and figure him out. And in the first period, it didn't lead Denny goals or did. But in the first period, the first couple of chances didn't lead Denny goals. And then finally, he gets the first one. He sets up that beautiful play. That first goal is so beautiful. It's like it's not something that's going to show up on highlight reels, but it's mesmerizing to watch the stop up to Manson, the rebound. I tweeted out and I think it's still the perfect explanation of this play. They look like a hive mind on it. They all look perfectly in sync with each other. And Parisi just puts that into the wide open net. You can't use you can't use hive mind like that. And when I met this state of you can't just drop that like analogy on me, man. I have no idea what you do. What hive mind. Yeah, what is that? It's the high. I don't know. I didn't expect that to break it down. It's like you're all sharing a brain. Okay. All right. I'm just sitting there and I'm like, what the hell is hive mind? He's man. Like you mean one right now. I need a lot more than that. But Casey Mills, that I think it was probably his best game as an app. And he is three games in the playoffs. He's been so good all series alone, man. And he gives the abs that missing piece that they've that they've just needed for so damn long. Ryan Johansson's not doing this. He's not doing this. Ryan Johansson, like it's such a big thing. Going back to your point earlier on Gerard, making them comfortable to trade by room, and that gets the middle stat for this series to finally solve that answer up the middle and gives this app such a different dimension where you put Casey middle stat out there with Lecky or Val and put Parisi up there and they're just out there having fun. They're out there skating around. They're doing all the right things in the defensive zone. He's controlling the puck. He's not taking stupid plays like the penalty. He took that lead to the whole bullshit. I was I'm watching that. I was watching on my phone for the first two periods. I'm watching that and I'm like, where's the penalty? Like that was the softest penalty. And it it sucks that the first two penalties of the games I thought were kind of weak, but it sets the tone for the refs that they they have to call these penalties. And it echoes the point. I think you said on last episode the refs in these playoffs. They've been calling so many more penalties than they usually do. Yeah, the worst ones have been in the Rangers and Capitol series. I'll talk about that at the end of the episode, but they've been calling a ton. I don't think the reps in this series have been awful. I've seen much worse in my life, but this one they they got this entirely wrong, which led to the Jets go ahead goal. Shifley pivots and makes it look like he's on this play like it just didn't happen. And then he's grabbing the stick of what was it? Gerard on the penalty kill later. If I'm not reading that correctly and it lets Morrissey get open for that shot through the screen that they should have called that is an insane non-call to make after that week call. They called on middle stat, but ultimately back to the point of middle stat himself. He he looks absolutely brilliant in this series. And we said one of the big X factors coming into this series is the abs need Casey middle stat to not be a passenger. They need him to just be straight up productive, much like Nazem Kadri was in the cup run. And you're getting a game like this out of him where McKinnon is really good in this game, but he wasn't like the blow the doors off kind of guy that we were expecting. Rantenin, he looks off. Something looks off about him a little bit. He hasn't been at his best. He still picks up two points in the game with some incredible assists, and especially that one to Val is a beautiful assist on the power play. But they haven't been the game breakers. They're fantastic. They're elite. They're better than anything the Jets have. But when you put Casey middle stat beneath that playing at that level, the Jets don't have an answer. And that's been the biggest part of this series is a lot of the things that the abs are doing really well. The Jets can't match. I think we said with Raj, all we were hoping for middle stat was half a point per game in the series. He's a point per game player right now, a little bit above that, which is crazy to think about. And I think everyone had some worries about him coming into the playoffs because he did go through that slump to end the regular season. But he looks like a guy who's starting to figure out the system and he's had consistent line mate for a while with Lecky, and Parisi is just so flexible he can play with anyone. But he's building that chemistry with the players and you're starting to see the results of that chemistry being built with those teams. Yeah, absolutely. And man, I know I'm getting ahead of myself to next season, but you give him an off season with the abs program. You give him a training camp under Bednar. More opportunities to learn the system even more. I'm impressed he's doing this after the trade deadline because sometimes you see guys it takes a while. I think four middle staff there was that point in the regular season where it was taken a little while where he kind of figure out what his role is on this team and what's really expected of him. But he is the kind of player where his skills, you wouldn't think it, but they translate really well to the playoffs where you don't think of him as just a grinded out in front of the net and in the corners kind of guy. But he's so smooth and so smart with the puck that he can single-handedly create a possession for the abs and kill one for the jets and just drag them out of their own zone slowly and methodically bring it back into the offensive zone for the abs. And he's just he's got so much talent. He's the perfect guy for this team underneath McKinnon. I'm not going to get ahead of myself to offseason talk, but man did they they struggled. Oh yeah, we knew that when they traded for him that this was going to be an actual hopeful long-term solution at least for the next year or two, maybe even more for a second-line center. And I love the chemistry he's built with Lecky. I mean that pass on the play to Lecken and to give the abs the four-two lead. I thought he was too deep. I didn't think that pass could get through. I thought he was behind the net by the way he was passing it. Perfect pass to Lecken and he sold shot the entire way. Helbeck had no chance. He had no chance on that play and that's just the passing ability that he has. And I could he was the number one star of the game and he was the number one star of the game, in my opinion, without fail. He was phenomenal in this game. And I just go back to that point, man, where it's it does feel a little bit like the cup year because the depth has been the reason they're winning so many of these games. Like the third line, we were talking about them, their first two games in Winnipeg. They were great. I thought they were good against Knight. Ross Colton gets a goal. He gets a goal on technically wasn't the power play, but they were good. Yeah. Yeah. It technically wasn't a power play goal, but it acted as one. I thought Miles Wood was very effective. He drew the penalty that Helbe asked to tie the game at two. And the fourth line with Trennan, who's just you told me at the trade down line, when we got him, he was good on the PK. That dude's a fucking dog on the PK, man. He is so good. And I wish there was a way that we could get him just to stay on the ice for the full two minutes and not tired. You know what else he is? He's a fucking wrecking ball. That dude forechecks like no one else on this team. Like he is on you in a heartbeat. Obviously in game two, he causes the hell of up turnover that changes the game. And again, he is fighting guys on those boards, freeing up Hawks. He's not doing anything dirty. He's not trying to get under people's skin. He's just playing his damn game. And he is a monster on this team. And such an effective penalty killer. It's such an effective fourth liner on this team, where it's the kind of thing where it's frustrating. My favorite thing about this team is you plan so much for McKinnon and ranting it. And obviously that's a huge part of the Jets game plan is how are we going to contain these guys? But you slowly start to trickle down the lap. Oh my god, Casey middle stats on it tonight. Ross Colton in Miles would are driving us crazy late. And what is this kiwi Ronta guy doing driving us mad right now? Is he had another strong game? You get down to the fourth line. It's like my god, trend ends out here too. It's infuriating to deal with that when you're the other team. And you're the Jets who's supposed to have the better depth. And that depth is getting out performed badly, badly, badly, man. It's been so much fun to watch these first three games. And they're just they're on they're in sync right now, the entire teams in sync right now. And we're still waiting for the Nathan McKinnon masterclass game, which is going to come. Yeah, I mean, he's been he's been good all series, but we haven't seen the game where he just has two bowls to assist. It could have it could have been in this game. He rang two posts in this game. He had a couple of unlucky plays good saves by Helle Buck. It's coming. Oh, no, that's why I say it like it's coming. We haven't had it yet. And the abs are up to one in the series. Like that's crazy to think about. And the thing is McKinnon probably still has been one of the best players in the series. I'd still argue he has been the best player in the series, even if you're not getting the three point nights and everything. He's still he's got two points in game one, a point in game two, two points again tonight. Like he's absolutely killing it right now. If you want to directly compare him to his MVP competition in the Kia Kuchrov, who is ghosting his series against the Florida Panthers right now and absolutely frustrated. He can't be cherry picking empty netters currently. McKinnon is doing everything he can still. The Jets emphasis is like fully on him. And he's still putting up incredible numbers and still drawing so much attention towards him that you forget about Casey Middlestadt and opens up the door for the guys behind him to have incredible nights because Nathan McKinnon, this season is the most dangerous player in the league. Oh, yeah, he's number one without fail. And that Master Cross game's coming. It's coming. I would actually prefer it to be in an ideal world where it's a close out game and Nathan McKinnon just goes off. That'd be cool with me. If he's just going to be chill and putting up the casual two point nights with a goal, you know, just casual two points, you know, putting his feet up essentially for him and save it all the four or five point night for games four or five of the series and the apps can close it out. Whatever. Cool with me. Cool with me, man. And this game was just so much fun to watch, man. And I'm so glad I was able to make it back to the Airbnb I'm staying at and watch the third period on a ginormous TV. I felt bad because everyone's like, why are you going up to the third floor? Watch game? You want to watch with us? I don't think you guys need to see me watching playoff hockey where my team's down one going into the third period. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Like that's we've had a very enjoyable night. I'm not going to subject you to watching me watch that. And they said they could hear me screaming from the third floor. And I was like, I told you guys, I got to why I'm not sitting on the first floor to you guys because you would you would be shocked by it. And it was weird. I was able to get altitude here in New Orleans. Interesting. Right. That's what I said. I was watching the altitude broadcast now. I was like, okay, cool. That's cool. And it was on it was on the TV. I was like, okay, I'm not going to complain here. I do think that I was the only person in New Orleans wearing a hockey jersey tonight because it was 85 degrees with 75% humidity. So it's also the draft. Yeah. Yeah. So that was a good time. But overall, man, like what other talking points do we have about this game? Because we talked about your gift, talked about middle set. We talked a little bit about Rancin. I agree, he does seem a little bit off. But he's still putting up points. Like his efforts been there. It just seems like he's he's missing something. It's just it's a little off. When I say I want more from Rancin, and it's it's really not his effort because I can still see the effort there. He's buying into the system. He's still doing his job where he's blocking shots, he's setting stuff up on the power plays. I don't know if he's still affected from the at-home hit, whether it's something beyond just concussion, whether he like banged up his shoulder or something like that. I'm just speculating. But you do want to see a little bit more from him. I don't think he's been terrible. But I think again, much like we said with Rancin in the entire season, for at least 80% of the seasons, like he's doing fine. He's going to get points. He's Meeko Rancin and he's one of the best players in the world. But you know that there is another level that he can reach. Just rewind the clock to last year's playoffs. He had what 10 points in that series. Maybe it's like a big brain moment here where remember Meeko was struggling in the 2022 playoffs, and they went on to win a comp. So maybe that's just like the recipe is Meeko Rancin struggles, I say with air quotations and the apps can win a cup. But his efforts there, I think the goals are going to start coming. He's still racking up the points. It just seems like a little bit. There were a couple power power plays in third where I thought he had a chance to do a one-timer, and he didn't get much on him. He just he kind of flubbed him a little bit. But the power seems to be missing because yeah, you go back to earlier in the series where we were complaining he's not shooting. There's there's hesitation, it seems like. Right. So I'm not going to start putting out speculation that Rancin is hurt and it's his upper body and everything like that. There's just for some reason, there's a little bit of hesitation to his game, a little bit of a preference to defer at the moment. Maybe it has nothing to do with injury at all. Maybe that's just the game plan. Maybe that's just what they're trying to set up is to to fake the Rancin and scoring threatened and pass it off to McKinnon or McCar at the point like it has been on the power play. Maybe that's just the game plan. But the effort's been there. I wouldn't say he's been the best player in the series, but I wouldn't say he's been bad either. There've definitely been games in the regular season where you're like, Rancin kind of sucks today. And it's pretty obvious that he's just not given it 100%. I think he's given it. I think he's given the abs his best. And I think the goals are going to come for him. Maybe it's less of the breakout that we're expecting from McKinnon where he's going to have a four point night, but it also could happen. He's had done that before. He has the potential to just be like, Oh, that's a hat trick for Mico Rancin and in the second period because it's one of the best shooters in the world. Yeah, he's going to get going. I'm not worried about it. But the person who's been picking it up for him is Valentine's, Michigan, who scored a goal in every game of the series and has been a factor in just everything he's done so far. And like we said, he was going to be the X factor going into the series. Yeah, he's lived up to it. He has been phenomenal. Yeah, it's another thing that the Jets just they don't have Val and the Chushkin. They don't have a Val and the Chushkin or really anyone close to a Val and the Chushkin because when Val is playing his game, like he has been in this series. Good fucking luck. The guy does everything. He's killing it on the power play. He's killing it on the penalty kill. He's breaking stuff up in the Jets offensive zone and breaking stuff up in front of the net and putting himself in the right spots on the power play. Like he's a nightmare to deal with an absolute nightmare. He's just he's at the top of the list of guys who's like, okay, McKinnon's off the ice. You've got to be fucking kidding me with this. And he's playing on a line with McKinnon, which is just hilarious to me. Gets the game winning goal in this play. Like you said, Mika with a great pass. And I don't think there was an app that had a bad night tonight. I really don't. I think all of them were good. Everyone gets like a B grade at the minimum. I thought everyone was good and they're just like, I'm trying not to get ahead of myself. I'm trying not to say like the series is over because it's far from over. But what I've seen in these first three games, what else can the Jets do? Like what can they do? What what adjustment is coming from Winnipeg? That's just going to completely change the tide from what's happened in the first three games of this series because if the abs get better goaltending and better defense in game one, they're up three nothing right now. The Jets are putting up a good fight. This is a very, very good hockey team, but the abs are kicking the crap out of them for the most part. The Jets are doing their best to stop them, but at a certain point they just they don't have the facilities to do that. It's it's tough to be them right now because this was supposedly a good matchup for them with Connor Hellabuck and goal. Your give on the other side, beat this team three times in the regular season, swept them and out scored them 17 to four. And they're getting the real message like, huh, shit's not sweet in the playoffs. This shit sucks a lot. And it's just because have they had a game where they've had over 30 shots in these first three? I don't think so because the first game, I think they had 27 with the game to they might have they think they came close. I think game to they had exactly 30 in game to exactly 30. And then tonight they had 25 26 24. Like the abs defense has been better. I mean, they had some breakdowns in game one, but they're limiting the Jets shots. And the abs are just almost doubling up their shot attempts every single game. Like, I don't care who's in that. When you're facing that many shot attempts, it you're you're going to get some give some goals up eventually. Yeah, and I do I do still believe that Connor Hellabuck's gonna have a game where he steals it. Like he's going to steal a game. Here's the thing that should have been today. It was set up to be today through 40 minutes. He was great. The abs I was going into the third being like, I think the abs are going to get one. I think they'll they'll get one through Hellabuck in the third period at very least they'll send this game. So over time, maybe they can do more, but he's playing what he's playing really well. The abs are going to have to to get greasy and and stick some by him. And that's the thing. I don't I don't think Hellabuck was bad in the third period that the abs just torched him and the the Jets left their guy out to dry. And now you're going to this series where I think his confidence is starting to get pretty shot. And then the media is getting on him now. Like people are saying we want for Swah for game four, which I don't think is going to happen. But it's a it's a it's a Canadian market. Winnipeg doesn't get as much attention as the Edmonton's and the Toronto's and the Montreal's of the world. They're vicious. They have no tolerance for this shit. Did you see like were you reading any of the replies some of the tweets being like Gary Beckman once again calling and just screw over a Canadian team? Like dude, like you can argue those penalties. No, you can't. Like those were all blatant penalties. Like maybe the one on Jack Johnson, you could let slide, but still like he tricked him. Yeah. And he puts the puck over the glass. And I am so glad on that double minor to Devon taste that they actually called that. I thought we were going to get nothing on it. I really did. That that's one where it's like they got it right. Right at where it's due. They didn't call it in the moment because it happened behind the play. It wasn't really obvious what happened because I thought he took the shot to the face. I saw you did too. That's what the announcements were saying to you. They thought it was a shot to the face. Yeah. And they met they got it right. They called the double minor and the abs crushed it on that power play. It was one of the best power plays of the season, even though it even though it took over two minutes to score. Thank God it was double minor. They were running the jets around like crazy. They had plenty of time to set up and they took it. But the Jets, what which penalty could you not call here? Like maybe maybe the Jack Johnson one. Yeah. I think the Mason Appleton one was unfortunate. I think he was going for the shot and he just missed the puck and he hit all miles with that. That's a trip. Like I don't care. Like it's a trip. You can't bitch about that. Yeah. That first one is a trip. Valardi high stick Devontes in the face and drew blood. That's four minutes. Gustaf Sin. He got enough of him that they called it. Okay. Let's say they don't call it. Okay. So you take those last two penalties off the board. The abs are still up for two minimum. Well, I mean, you have to call the delay a game. I mean, I don't think the delay a game doesn't happen without the first quarter. So I'm going to take that off board. But you already had the let the lectin in goal by that. Yeah, that's true. That goal made it five two. That was just the last one that they scored. So I mean, it's a two goal lead. It's not insurmountable for the Jets. But to say they got screwed by the officials is just completely asinine. It's just not true. It's just not true. But overall, man, that game kicked so much ass. I'm so glad I was able to watch the end. And I just don't have a bad thing to say about that game or about how any apps played. Like it was just a very positive game. And so far in these first year games, it's been a repeatable effort. Like they've repeated it in all three games. It's not and you're not flukes. That's what I've gone from every game. These performances are not flukes. They're playing better than the Jets. The Jets have some stretches where they're outperforming the abs. They've had a stretch in every single game so far, whether it's like a good eight minutes or so where the Jets are kind of kicking the crap out of them. But the abs have been able to recover every single time and pour it on them after that. And the Jets have not been able to recover. And they take out their frustration late in the game. They start trying to drop some shit. And the Jets lost at losing today because they got beat up in a lot of those fights. Brendan Dylan, I hope he's okay. Did you see the the gash on his hand? No, I haven't seen it yet. I don't know if I want to see it. It's gross. It's pretty nasty. It's I don't know if I want to see it. It's like right underneath the the thumb where it's it's open. It's like a needs to be sewn shut probably sorry for gross imagery. But you do reap what you sow. Unfortunately, the Jets were throwing a tantrum at the end of the game for the last full minute. And Lowry gets in a fight with wood gets the jersey yanked over his head and goes and gets sent off without dinner to an early shower and he's grounded. And the abs or the Jets, I'm sorry. Then as the game closes, they're throwing another fit as the horn expires. They're trying to grab people, put them in head locks. And I guess escape catches Brendan Dylan. And it's a lot of blood on the ice and the symbolism of the abs celebrating that win as they skate off the ice. And there is just their opponent's blood all over the ice is as sometimes symbolism is pretty obvious. Yeah, you forget that they're playing with little razor blades on their feet. So that you get stepped on. But I just have a good feeling about game four on Sunday, man. I really do like any other thoughts. Any other thoughts about this game before we move on to game four preview? No, I mean, it's hard not to feel good about game four right now. It's hard not to feel good about this team through three games in the playoffs. Your biggest concern in this series has been goaltending. In game one, it's stunk and it costs you. But in the next two games, he has given you above nine hundred say percent and nine thirty three in game two. And what I say nine seventeen in game three, I was like, okay, the first one was a soft goal. He only led in two. That's it. Well, I do. Yeah. You know, we needed the vowel goal to win this game. Everything else was just was just cherry on top. He's given them a chance. That's all you can ask for. That's all they need. They just need a chance. They just needs to give them a chance. Even if he wasn't good, again, all he would have needed to do was not give up more than four in this game. And that would have been enough. That would have been giving them a chance. Yeah, it's crazy to say, but that's true. And nine hundred goal ten is going to get this team a lot of wins in the playoffs. Nine hundred goal tenning in these playoffs might automatically get you. With the ways some of the goal tenning has been in these playoffs, if you're in nine hundred, you might win the con smife. Do you imagine that would be really funny, but I'm really happy with where this team's at right now. It was a great game to watch and looking forward to game four on Sunday. It does freak me out a little bit that the game's at noon. Like we have seen abs and day games is not the greatest, but again, it's the playoffs. I do see that narrative thrown around a lot. I don't have the stat in front of me. Like, yes, they did lose their last one. And that's our lasting memory of new games. The abs have a pretty good record in new games for the most part. They show up to play. They don't make it. Oh, and it's the playoffs. Like it's the playoffs. Like I'm not expecting this isn't game 55 of the regular season where it's just kind of a slog. It's game for the players with a chance to go up three one and put your foot on their neck in this series. They're going to show up to play. I'm not going to be. If that's an excuse in the playoffs, there are much bigger problems. I don't think it just it does worry me a little bit. That's just my psychopath fandom in me. But I do feel good about this game. I do still think like the Nathan McKinnon crazy game is coming where he just has four or five points. But I think Hellbuck's going to be good again in the first 20, 40 minutes. But I just think the abs are going to overpower him at the end. I think your gift makes a couple big saves. I'm just going to say the abs went five to two. Like it just it sounds like a lazy score. But if the abs just get a couple big saves, they've proven they can score five on Hellbuck. They've done it in three straight games. And it's not like he's been a disaster class at net. Like the McKinnon one tonight, you could say that was not great. But all the other ones were just great passing plays and great shots. Like I think five to two just seems like a reasonable score. Kyle Connor ever since game one hasn't been much of a factor. Mark Schifley just pisses me off. I think that's the guy I hate most in this series is Mark Schifley. I don't know why he hasn't really done anything when Gerard was giving them the business. Like a very untiable face. Yeah, I think Schifley's the guys. There's always a player you hate when you're facing a team in a playoff series. There's always one. Yeah. I think Schifley's that guy for me. When Gerard was given the business, I was like, yeah, fuck yes. I mean, you fuck him up. But it's it seems like such a lazy prediction. But I the way this team's playing right now, I just don't I don't know if they're going to lose this game. I don't think they will. I feel more confident about game four than I did going into game three. Yeah. I mean, because we got three games, we got a little bit of a sample size now. And if you're the Jets, how are you comfortable at any point in this game? Let's let let's say the Jets go up three nothing going in the third period. You think they feel secure in that lead right now? At any point, do you think at any point in any of these games, least of all game four coming up, the Jets are going to feel like, okay, we got this? All it takes with this team has been one. And they just pour it on this team. And the pressure is on the Jets to stop the bleeding at any point. And even if they do, the apps come back time and time again, where this series has been the best, I think of all the playoff series so far. But also at the same time, the Jets, they haven't been able to put a response out there that me trying to be unbiased here. I don't know if they can do this right now. And I don't want to doubt them because again, this is a good team. The Jets are a worthy opponent. This is the second best team in the the West right now for the regular season. This is like an unfair matchup that we have to play each other in the round in the first round. The abs are fourth in the West and the Jets are second. You should be seeing that in the first round. But matchup wise right now, I don't know what the Jets are changing in this game other than luck. If they win this game, I think they get lucky. The abs based on everything we've seen will win this game and go up three to one in the series. Like five to again, sounds like a lazy score, but it's kind of what we've seen in this series from the last two games, five to two in game two and six to two with the empty net in this one where it's like, I don't know what other score I feel super comfortable with because like, okay, well, just to be different, I think this is going to be probably a lower scoring game. I'm going to say it's three to two abs, maybe four to two with an empty netter. I think it's going to be a closer game. I think the Jets are not going to have the same meltdown that they've had. The last two games, like they're going to adjust. These are good players with a good enough coach that they're going to adjust enough, that they're not going to have another massive meltdown, but the abs are just going to keep coming. No matter what the score is in the game, I don't know what the Jets are going to be able to do to stop them. And I think they're going to win the game, defend their home ice, and go to win and peg up three one. Yeah. And if they lose game five, I still feel good. We're getting way ahead of ourselves, but this team's on a roll right now. I just don't see the only thing that can stop them as themselves. And they are going to be a problem for the rest of these playoffs. I just feel good. And again, you look at how these playoffs have shaken out through the first six days. We harped so much on this team needs to get home ice, man. They need to get home ice. They haven't been a good road team. They won one game on the road. And now all of a sudden they're back home, dominated this game in the third period. They still have home ice advantage. And you look at the other side in the central, Dallas is down two out of Vegas. Most hilarious results so far. It's the fact that they're down to two. They lost both games in Dallas and Vancouver, they hurt my narrative a little bit today by winning because I genuinely thought the predators were going to win this game today. They're up to one over Nashville. That series is far from over, though. If Vancouver falls, the abs have home ice the rest of the way. Very funny. If Vancouver and Dallas fall in the first round, the abs have home ice advantage till the Stanley Cup final would be really, really funny. If we do all this on the man, they can't be the three seat. They can't go into Winnipeg that the white out and man, they're going to go into Dallas the next series too. You never know how the playoffs are going to shake out, man. And I think Dallas isn't done yet, but they got a hole to climb out of now. And Vancouver, they won that game today with 12 shots. That series has been the most boring series. We thought it was going to be the Islanders and the Hurricanes. That series has been the most boring series. And they've got tough competition. This is a rough first round. This has been a rough first round. You look out east, the three series are three nothing. The only one that isn't is Boston, Toronto, which we knew wouldn't be three nothing at that point. So that's not really a surprise. Florida's up three nothing on Tampa. The Rangers are up three nothing on the capitals, and the Hurricanes are up three nothing on the Islanders. Boring. Tampa, it hasn't been okay. But the other four, I feel like the games have been competitive at least. The other two, going from watching capitals, Rangers, game three, to watching Avalanche Jets, game three, it's just a completely different style of hockey. These games fucking suck. They're not even fun. They're not even fun to watch it. It's not even just because the caps are losing. These games are awful. They're genuine. It's just genuinely bad hockey to watch and to compare that directly to abs jets where it's just the start of this game was a chess match where the chess board's been set from the first two games. You can see the adjustments happening in front of you and that the high power talent on the ice and for the ass to blow it open. It's fantastic hockey. This caps Rangers series fucking sucks. It's awful. Has it been that bad? I didn't get a chance to watch tonight. I saw the school was what through to boring, man. They locked the caps lose three one in that game. Their power play. Oh, my God. It's you go from watching that PowerPoint to the abs car plane. You're like, well, that's what it's supposed to look like. I have seen some bad power plays in my lifetime from both the capitals and the Avalanche over the years and other teams. I have never seen a power play where it's genuinely a greater threat that they're going to get scored on than actually score. The caps, if they just don't give up short handed goals, game two goes to overtime and they're tied one one for most of this game at that point. They're killers. They're absolute killers and for angles on the playoffs are basically just like the, but it's the worst thing. Ten seconds. That's all it took for the what ended up being the game winning goal short handed. And the only goal the cap score was a total fluke on it on a John Carlson Rister that it should start can just missed. Maybe there's positives in a little bit. But yeah, that series is three nothing. I still think the caps win one. I think they'll survive. They may win game four. I'm going to game four after we record on Sunday. So we're going to have to figure how we're going to make an at work. But that's again, like we like to say future us problem. Going to game four, the parts that's disappointed me the most from the caps in this series. I knew they weren't going to win this series coming into it. I said that the whole time. They're not going to win this series. They have not done anything to knock the Rangers off their game. And I don't know if there's anything they can do to knock their Rangers off the game, but they're also not even really trying to knock the Rangers off their game where the Rangers are the team that's pushing the physicality and pushing them around where the caps they're they're like trying to win an award for humanitarian work in this series. They are just like, no, we're above this. We're above this team. We won't stoop to your level. Get get mad. You had another guy get targeted with a headshot and taken out by Rempay. Trevor Van Rheemstek misses the rest of the game on a blatant headshot. Don't tell me otherwise, you're fucking blind if you don't see that as a headshot. It's the second one, the series for the Rangers. And for the caps to have had any chance, they needed to drag this series into the mud. And they're like, no, we need to stick to our game plan. What fucking game plan? You don't have a game plan. You be worse than nothing. You have to drag this series down and turn it into an absolute slog fest. But you just let the Rangers kind of do what they want, for the most part. And I'm disappointed. So I'm changing my mindset to in game four, either they're going to win the game, and that's fun. And they win a game in the playoffs, or this is this is probably the last playoff game of the Old Echkin era. And to be there in person, probably cool. That'd be cool. And if that does happen, that also means I saw the last win when they smoked Florida six to one a couple of years ago in the playoffs. So only positives, only positives. But you got to you got to adjust your mindset sometimes. Got just your mindset. But that that series looks over. Florida is just a fucking animal, man. Like they they're so good right now. It's not fair how good that team is. And I don't think Tampa Bay has been terrible. It's just like what you said. I think after game one, they're five on five. They stay Tampa. Yeah, it's kind of like the abs and the jets where it's like Tampa's not playing bad. They don't have answers for what the Panthers can do. And the Panthers are up three to nothing in their series over them, where five on five, it's it's just not that close. Where the has been close are just so deep. They've got so much talent. They have the star power, they have the depth. They're getting the goal tending from Bobrovsky. And Tampa is doing fine. But Nikita Kootroff's not coming through for them. He's he's picking up some secondary assists on the power play. It's what he does. But he does. He's not like for them to win the series and it's probably too late now. They need him to take over games. He's supposed to be the best player in the series. Allegedly, he is. I don't think he's been top five. He doesn't even know he's top five on his own team. No, he hasn't been. And the Panthers seem to be going on to the second round. Like, what is Tampa going to do? Like, we can talk about that in the offseason, but that team's kind of like, what are you going to do with that team? And I thought it was just so funny. They traded all that capital just to scratch Tanner Geno in game two. Yeah, that's one of the worst trades of the last couple of years. Got Cal foot off the roster. So they don't have to deal with that fucking mess of that loser. But they give up all those picks for Geno. He doesn't play Steven Stancoast's UFA. Who has been their best player in this series for the lightning so far. And they they've got some some questions this offseason. And the the salary cap comes for us all. Father time and salary cap are undefeated in the NHL and Tampa. Their clocks ticking. I don't think they're done in game four. I think they've played well enough in this series that they're gonna go get was they're gonna send it back to flight. Like, this series is not a sweep. Like, it's it shouldn't be a sweep at the very least. It's these games have been competitive. I think they are going to get a Kucharov game where he gets a couple of points. Fast to left. He's gonna play well enough that they're gonna get one in Tampa. Send it back to Florida where the Panthers probably finish them off. Probably finish them off. Tampa Bay or excuse me, Toronto and Boston. Crazy game three. The Boston gets it done. Brad Marchon gets the game winner. I think by the time we're recording on Sunday, it's gonna be a two two series. Like, let's just be honest. Like, I do think Toronto's going to win. William Neelander's absence has just got to be so goddamn frustrating. If you're at least then because there's been nothing still, it sounds like he could play. I think the game's today because we're recording a little bit later at night tonight. Sounds like he's gonna play, but yeah, it sounds like he's gonna play, but Toronto, like, I don't know where what happens to Mitch Marner when the playoffs start. He's just not a playoff player and he hasn't done it yet. And you need him to be Mitch Marner if you're gonna have a chance to win the series. Yeah. And you're missing Neelander. Like, the report has been always having migraines, but the Neelander says he's fine. So we don't know what's going on with that. And Austin Matthews has been fine. It's just the Leafs again. They're not. I just don't think they're very good. I just don't think they're very deep. I don't think this team is built for the playoffs. And I'm not even pointing fingers at their stars. I'm looking at the rest of your roster. Like you, you really signed Ryan Reeves this contract thinking that he's going to change anything when the playoffs come around, when your defense looks like this, when you have Ilya Samsonov in goal, where you're putting Matthew Nied in a position where he needs to be a top six score at 21 years old, where like Matthews has three points in the series like they're, I think the Leafs are playing exactly the way I expected them to. Boston is just better built for the playoffs. They have better goal tending and guys who have been through this thing before, I don't know if the Leafs tie the series. They have not been very good at home in the playoffs the last couple of years, but they're going to need a big night from their top guys, which they might get, but Boston's just a better team than them. And they get ended. It's very easy for Boston to get under their skin. It's what it is. It is what they do best. It is funny just to watch that. Like a team be so much in another team's head. But that series is going to be fun. Yeah. And at the same time, whoever wins that series is getting run over by Florida. Yes. 100% of Florida. 100% and we talked about the Islanders, Hurricanes, Snorfest, Sorokin started and he was not good. And didn't didn't finish. Yeah, he was not good. I see why they started by lama. I take back my criticism there, Patrick Waugh. That's every in the East. The Dallas Vegas series, like I just want Vegas to win because I think that would just be so funny. And it's just, I don't think Dallas is playing particularly bad. It's just Vegas is getting the big time goals in Dallas. All their players are just like Jason Robertson kind of disappearing again. Rope Hintz hasn't done much in this series. Like, Dallas is, they got to figure out a way to get a save and score some big goals. Yeah, they're getting a murderer's row of stuff against them right now. Or, Auttinger just hasn't been that good in this series. And this is what I was worried about with Dallas during their regular season, where it's like, they have all this stuff. But a lot of the guys they're going to be relying on are not, they're young, like they haven't been through a lot of the rigors of the playoffs before. We're like, yeah, Wyatt Johnson had the game seven winner against the Kraken, but like Stan Coven hasn't done any of this before. Thomas Harley was riding a massive PDO bender going into the playoffs. And people did just kind of ignore that Jake Auttinger was not that good this year. He struggled this season. He turned it on late, but for the most part, his numbers were very giorgi of S for most of the season. And guys like Ben and Sagan, it's been, they've been fine and they've been able to hide behind Robertson and the fact that they've had this youth boom come in from drafting so well all these years, but they've never been like huge playoff takeover guys. They're fine. They're going to produce, but they've never been guys that are going to single-handedly change anything. And Vegas, that this is their thing, man. They got their aura back. All it took was Mark Stone just getting magically healed for game one and using the guys that they use the LTIR space to acquire like Noah Hanifen. And they're good, man. They're good. I don't think this is a sweep. I don't think that could you imagine if it is. So I don't think it is either, but could you imagine? Yeah. But the thing is, is Vegas did the hard part already. They went into Dallas, the top seed in the West because you can complain about Vegas cheating or manipulating the cap all they want. They're an eight seed going up against a number one seed right now. This matchup's probably better fit for the Western Conference final like it was last year, but they are still playing Dallas who is very good and was a point away from winning the President's trophy this year. And they're taking it to them right in their own building and the stars just they look frustrated. And the comment that Sagan had about how he didn't like the fans were booing stone because he thought it gave Vegas a boon. Why the fuck are you saying that? Yeah, it's such a surefire way to get the fans to turn on you because you're down to nothing in this series in the first round after having a great year as a bold strategy. Bold strategy. We'll see if it pays off for cotton. That series is going to be fun. We don't know. I mean, we'll know the result good in Sunday. It would be very funny if Vegas goes up three. It would be like I can't wrap my brain around that. I mean, I said Dallas in seven in that series. And man, maybe I should just maybe I should just listen to my gut more and stop changing my picks going into the playoffs because I said in January Florida is a fucking wagon. No one should pick against them. And then I pick against them in the conference final. And I said in like January and February, Dallas, something stinks about him. There's something stinky about that team and they're down to nothing right now. Maybe I should just start listening to myself more. Start listening yourself a bit more. Who won that Edmonton game tonight? The Oilers killed them. Oh, okay. All right, stick still one. The fuck or embarrassment. The Kings got a nice punch back in game two because George Skinner wasn't good. The Oilers are going to be fine in this series. The Kings. Dear God. Yeah, this is the third iteration of this series we've seen. To be honest, I've watched like 10 minutes of this series. And I think most of it was game two towards the end because it was tied. I have no interest in this series. The Oilers are kicking the shit out of them. This is a matchup we've seen before. And the Kings aren't very good. Like, this has been the problem with the first round. There's just been a lot of teams that aren't very good. Man, that's what happens. I did not see the score of that game. I boo. I missed that. Miss that tonight. And then we talked about Vancouver and they are Vancouver and Nashville. That that series is snorper. I tried watching every game because it's on usually like still in the abstract way. It's a brutal watch, man. It's a brutal watch. Like those two teams are just you would think offensively. It'd be a lot more fun. And with Casey just Smith and net, it's been snoo city, man. It's been snoo city watching that one. And I don't know. Vancouver takes a two one series lead. I still think that series is going seven. Like that. I think that could be seven. Yeah. I think that's gonna be a one left. I think it's a series you look back on and you don't remember any game but game seven because all the right or it kind of stink because I agree. Just Smith was much better in this game than he was in game two. But the Canucks like they they don't look great. They don't look very good in this series where even if they do pull it out, putting them up against the Oilers in the next round like yeah, Canucks swept them in the regular season. We saw that does not really mean anything doesn't mean much with how the abs are going up against the Jets currently. The Canucks, they just don't look very good. Patterson has been silent for the most part. He picked up an assist in this game. But the predators, if they're scoring, they put up five in game two and they only get one on 30 shots in this game. And they went 0 for five on the power play. Like I don't think Nashville is anything special. But I still think they can win this series. I feel fine picking them to win. Yeah, I do too. I think it'll be I think it'll be good. But that's just a quick little playoff recap. Do we miss any series? I don't think so. No. I mean, that's just really just not a lot to talk about. I mean, I think the big story is Vegas going up to 0 on Dallas. But like, that's not really like an upset upset. Like it's surprising. But it does kind of make sense at the same time. It does. Like the big stories are man, the East stanks, these matchups are not very good. And please don't expand the playoffs. That's my main takeaway from these first three games or the first six days of the playoffs. We don't need more teams in here. It's already it's already starting to get thin as it is right now where there's just teams that are not very good in the playoffs right now. And unfortunately, one of my teams is one of them. But I told you all year, the caps were not very good. And they should not be here. Imagine if we had like two more East teams right now getting massacred. I don't need to see that. But I will say the second round is shaping up to be awesome. I think the second round would be I think the eventual matchup in the central is met is lining up to be very good. I think whoever the Oilers play in the second round might not be very fun. I mean, the Canucks Oilers would be fun just because of the rivalry. But the Oilers could crush them. And I think Florida is running over who they play in the next round. And the Rangers and Hurricanes is going to be a fun series. So I think you got two that could be really fun. But the playoffs might not start until the conference final. Yeah, it's true. It's true. But on this man, we just we made what? Sorry. I'm going to say we just need some over times mixed in here. It's only been too brutal. That's been kind of lame. But we survived the first Zoom episode of every episode. But the first AirPods episode, wait a minute, pulled the curtain back there. Yeah, no. I mean, I said at the very beginning, I don't think I have anything else, man. I think I'm ready to send these people on the merry way. And just a little bit foreshadowing for the episode Sunday. You'll be the first ever and hopefully only airport episode of the Teladamsen podcast, because I'll be sitting at an airport recording. Yeah, hopefully your jet is the best performing jet that day. That's a good one. I was a good joke. You just made that. That's all close. I like that one. That didn't sound very genuine. But thank you. Griffin, I'm gonna be honest. I'm coming down from I've been we're approaching 2 AM here in New Orleans. That's 3 AM where you're at. I have been drinking for 13 hours now. So I'm ready to go to bed and wake up because we're going to jazz fest tomorrow. And I will start again New Orleans, man. I don't think the city like I don't think anyone in the city is ever sober, if I'm being honest with you. It's my first time down here in the south. It's awesome. If you haven't been down to New Orleans, you have to go check it out. The wedding today. Have you been to a wedding in the south? No. Okay, they do this thing where it's like a parade. Like the bride in the groom, like you'll walk behind them and they have like a police escort and there's a band playing and you'll just walk around like New Orleans. It was crazy. Like there were just people filming us and I'm like these random people just have videos of me just slamming beers walking down the street. But it's been a hell of an experience and just shout out to listeners for being so understanding because the life kind of me and Griffin do have lives outside of this, which may be hard to believe. Yeah, might not always not always seem that way. But I don't always seem that way. But there are life things we have to do. So just appreciate listeners for being understanding with us. I mean, my life, I know today's Saturday, but day three of the NFL draft, I am. Oh, yeah. And it is 2 45 am. Yeah. But probably time to call it on this one for the most part. But I feel good about where we are. I feel good about this team. I'm excited for game four. I'm excited to see what else we got up our sleeves in this series and hoping for just some better series outside of abs jets because this has been pretty boring for the most part. It's been a pretty brutal first round. But I'm ready to wrap this one up here. Thank you all so very much for tuning in to another edition of the Teladabs. It is podcast.
