Rebound on the outside of the net. The Besser scores. Brock Besser on his own rebound, ties the game in three with 6.2 seconds left in the third period. With instant reaction from the players and coaches. He involved. Left point, with Hughes long shot. Miss Hyenwei to the target. And Cole holds in right point again. They were coughing the puck up, couldn't get out of their own zone, couldn't sustain pressure. They're down 3-1, and then cue the comeback. Besser makes it 3-2. Colton Sizzins misses an empty net and hits a post. And the Canucks tied in the dying seconds. Then the lies lane home. Your overtime winner. Boy, oh boy, people talk about that trade not being worth it. Is that goal worth trading your first round pick? Maybe if you get past this first round against the National Predators. What an incredible ending here, guys. Sports. Sports rules, man. That was incredible. And just the composure to get re-engaged in so many guides featuring it on that last play, Besser stepping up in the neutral zone, creating this turnover. Joshua fighting to get that play in. But yeah, all these little bounces and 50-50 battles the Canucks were losing, suddenly in the last five minutes, they started winning them all. And their lies three goals for them. Yeah, there's no picture on the score sheet, right? Yeah. It's like, it's not a pretty game. You're right. I have, for the last minutes, I got a note. Garland at least won a wall battle. That was where the game was headed in the last five. And then you just saw a little bit of momentum going. And I liked the Canucks came out to win the game. They didn't come out and kind of sit back. Like they did in the most of the game, really. They came out, they got down the wall. Cole makes two good plays. He goes down the wall. There's Pucks going in the net. Josh will eat a body. Garland gets it out front. So it was just like they came out ready to win a game. Yeah, absolutely. And it's one of those things where the Canucks give them credit, right? Like having the fortitude to come back and win this game late. Let's bring in Randy Janda into the conversation here. Randy, I know we've been begging to call some playoff games. Real playoff games here as a radio station. We finally got it. And man, oh man, what a thriller here tonight. It was something else, guys, for what? 55, 56-- I want to say 58 minutes. It looked like this game was going nowhere real slow. And then you have Brock Besser. You have the collective effort. You had Quinn Hughes putting Gus Nyquist breaking his ankles, putting on one roller skates there. And all of a sudden, the game just turned. And that was a moment where they were hitting-- it felt like they were skating in quicksand for a certain majority of this game. It looked like they're fatigued, but you get that 3, 2 goal. And then everything turns. And so much happening in this game where Colton Scissons, he had that Patrick Steffen moment, right, hits the post. And what happens? They end up scoring the equalizing goals, the equalizing goal. And then eventually, you have that goal by Elias Lindholm in the overtime. But guys, drama for the final few minutes. I'm not going to lie for about 50 minutes. It didn't look like that game was going anywhere near the Vancouver Canucks. But timing is a heck of a thing. And the Vancouver Canucks do it right as Nashville, the preds fans, leave that arena completely dejected. I'm just curious, too, what's transferable from those last five minutes to game five, right? Like, what worked in the last five minutes outside of just chaos mode and what they can recreate moving forward? Because whatever was bottled in that last little bit, it's like, clearly, you can score goals really fast, Brett. Yeah, I think, well, I mean, go at the last goal in terms of getting it low. Maybe you're releasing to the net. We saw so many times that National Demon can cut off that release to the back of the net. I think if you're maybe a little sharper with that, you can work it on that side, maybe. High to low to high. But obviously, yeah, there is something there. And they talked about executing plays or not executing plays that are obviously seems and getting behind that. So if they can do that and have a little more will to get in behind, there's obviously some success to have back there. Randy is talking about-- Yeah, I was going to jump in there real quick, though, because, yeah, from an X's and O's perspective. That's a thing you can carry over. But guys from a confidence perspective, the stars needed that third period, right? And J.T. Miller was doing his thing. He's always been doing it. Another three assists game for him. But having Quinn, he was having that moment of 40 minutes, 45 minutes, he was being really hunted in that game. And then he is able to take his game to the next level. What's transferable? Is that confidence to say, for 55 minutes, you didn't play well. And then what happens, you have that sequence, you're feeling good about yourself. So yeah, there's the down low. And, Bick, we talked about that earlier in the week on the show of looking for that other option, not forcing it through the middle and when the preds are fronting. But I think from a confidence perspective, Lindholm gets that goal. That line was, for the most part, struggling the last two games. I thought Connor Garland had a consistent effort. But them getting that goal in overtime is big, too. And it's their bread and butter, working off the wall battles. Dakota Joshua doing his thing. Connor Garland, the eyes on the back of the head. And I don't know what Nashville was doing on defensive coverage there. You don't let them-- All three goals. Yeah, especially with Lindholm. You don't let him all by himself. But I think those groups of star players, and especially that line that scored the overtime winner, can take some real, real confidence from this game. Yeah, and I think the confidence aspect of things for the group, because honestly, even we debated the last game. And I know we cannot talk about how fans weren't happy with how the Canucks played in the third. But they didn't give much up until they tied. They scored a 2-1 goal. And they had a flurry with the goal they pulled. But overall, they were good defensively. This for 60 minutes, the totality of the 60 minutes, was easily the Canucks' toughest game so far, but they come through huge. And let's go outside. The Canucks locker room were rejoined by Ian Cole after a huge 4-3 overtime victory over the Preds. And Ian, I mean, we were watching this game, and it was frustrating watching it, which is how the game was going. What's the elation like when you guys come back from a 2-goal deficit to take in overtime like that? Yeah, it was obviously great resiliency. It never was the cleanest game for us tonight, being like we said after last game. We have to find ways to win games different ways, right? We're not going to be able to-- teams aren't going to let us just kind of impose our well time, right? So listen, I thought we had a great mentality going into the end of that game. We weren't going to give up. We were going to make sure we made a game of it. And then obviously came out and ended early. So that's great. What's the mood in the overtime intermission getting ready for that? You just come back. Obviously, the huge spirits are up, but a job still to do. Is anything said? What's the focus? Yeah, it's about refocusing, right? There's so much chaos there at the end of the game coming back, which is great. And you want to try to steady yourself through that chaos, right? I was foolish enough to say-- well, maybe not foolish, actually. I said, hey, we're probably not going to win this in the first minute. So let's be prepared to play as long as we need to to get this job done. And we wanted a minute and two seconds. So I was not incorrect. Yeah, obviously, a loss been setable. Lenny, it's the big acquisition of the year. He comes in. It's tough for him to get his footing and figure out where he is on the lineup. And then he comes back and he's been really good with that lineup. How nice is it to see a guy like that from a team perspective be a hero and OT tonight? Yeah, listen, we think Lenny is a heckable player. He is a fantastic teammates, a fantastic hockey player, very skilled, very smart, is just a great defender, is really great at everything. And to see him get rewarded like that and to be able to get the accolades that he will get from the end of this game is very deserving and we couldn't be happier for the guy. But most importantly, we are up through one of the series have a control of it going back home, which is what our goal was and we were able to accomplish that. Do you want to take us through your role on the game winning goal because you make a heck of a keep on the blue line in that backhand pass to the corner that just misses, but then a big win along the boards as well? Yeah, no, I mean, listen, we want to be aggressive. We want to try to kill plays as quick as we can. Over the course of that game, they shrink so tight in the end of the corner battles. A lot of pucks ran up up that week's side. So a lot of times you can get down. If you can win that race with their forward, you can make some plays out of that. And we are fortunate enough to do that kind of as the game went and then kind of work for us there at the end too. So we'll try to continue to figure out ways to beat their pressure. They do a good job kind of clogging up through the middle there and making it hard to create. But we got to figure out ways to beat it and we'll be able to do that. Well, you guys did show a couple wrinkles on the first goal off the face off. It seems to be a set play where Miller wins it and he makes a B line over to the other circle. And you fake the slap shot, draws the forward over, and then Susie hits the Miller and all their players are facing Miller who then feeds it over Brock Besser. You guys can't tell too many secrets. But that's a set play. You guys pulled off really well, hey? It worked out very well for us. Listen, I've got a lot of smart players on this team. So you guys get to open spots and make plays and that's what they did there. In your opinion, was there anything different in the last four or five minutes of that game and obviously the one minute in OT that wasn't working in the first 55 minutes? I don't think anything was different. I think it was just being able to recognize and say, hey, what we're doing isn't working. We're not winning enough battles. We're not keeping enough plays alive. We're losing puck battles. We're losing possession. We're losing territory in the neutral zone, in our zone, in their zone. And nothing's going to be easy at this point in the year. So we need to know nothing's going to be easy. And we need to prepare ourselves that every time you touch the puck, you're going to get pressure from behind you. Every time we're going to a 50-50 puck, they're going to do whatever they can to win that puck battle. So we need to be prepared for that and win those battles. Because if we don't win battles, we're not going to hang on to the puck. So coming to that realization that everything we do out here is going to be hard. And just expected at this point and play right through it. That's all you can do. In final one, before we let you go, how about the kid between the pipes tonight? I mean, such poise, right? I mean, he comes into a notoriously loud and hostile building coming out and looking as poised as he did. So enough can't be said for what he did for us and how well he played for us. And we're going to-- we should play the same way, regardless of who's in that. And he stepped right in and filled that vacancy extremely well. Ian, it's always a pleasure chatting with you, especially after a huge playoff victory in overtime. Enjoy this one, and we look forward to seeing you guys back in town on Tuesday. Yep. Thanks, fellas. Have a good one. That is Ian Cole, Canucks defenseman, played a big part in their victory here tonight. A massive, massive 4-3 come from behind victory. And Randy, if you heard Ian there, he doesn't want to give away too many secrets, talks about obviously on that set play on the first goal. A lot of players making good plays. But to the point that he made tonight, there are ways for them to take advantage of the way the Preds play. It just took the Canucks a long time. And in between, had a big lull before doing that. It's so efficiently in the end. Yeah, utilizing down low, right? We saw that numerous times. It was the bester play, of course, on the set play off the face off. But when you start looking at some of the late goals, two guys, with Lindholm, down low with the extra attacker, he ends up making that pass on the 3-2 goal to Brock Besser. Just, you know, if you know Nationals fronting, you know they're going to sit back on that lead, which they did in game two. How do you attack them differently? And guys, there was a couple of moments, even earlier on in the game, some of the replays picked it up as well, or J.C. Miller, just trying to hit him with the Noluk pass, right? He's trying to essentially keep him guessing. So I like the creativity, I like the fact that they were using different parts of the ice. They weren't just doing what, maybe on the power play, they're trying to force through the middle, and that was broken up, led to a short-handed attack the other way, but outside of that, late in this game, they said, all right, you know what? Take what the defense is giving us, and what they gave them was the down low area. And Lindholm, of course, gets the game winner, but the two Besser goals, especially, were looking at other options, and that's what we've been really looking for for what this team to say, hey, when it's not there, what else do you have on the ice? What else can you do? And I thought they did it in small, of course, small spurts, because for 55 minutes, it didn't look like anything was going for the Canucks, but late in this game, they took advantage, and that's something that gives you a recipe also for game five coming to Vancouver to say, all right, Vancouver's going to have last change. You can dictate the matchups, but we also know how to beat you now as well. Ian Cole said enough, couldn't be said about Archer's she-love, so we'll spend some time knocking about him here. Like, that's unbelievable, right? Like, there were key moments that in the second where, yeah, they give up a goal, but he made some big love saves. And just, again, you know, when we've seen him, calm and poised has been kind of the name of the game for she-love, Randy. Oh, for sure, and go back to that. I believe it was the first period. There's that chance on Kerry, where he ends up blowing past with speed, I believe it was because one of the Canucks players fell, and it was Nyquist making a nice pass out to Kerry, who pinched in. And just poised, you know, there from she-loves. And then later on, there's a pretty premium chance by Anthony Bavillier as well, which, you know, he makes a glove save there. That was also in the second period. So a couple of moments where, if it goes to be a three-one game at that point, it's going to be extremely difficult for Vancouver to get into, you know, building that confidence. So I love the way he played. I thought, you know, 27 saves in your playoff debut in that barn. And I know Ian Coles said his, not much can be said. I'm sure they're saying it behind the scenes because that was a high-stress situation for a kid that had to deal with some puck management issues for his team in that, you know, in that first period. They were looking like maybe not getting the puck deep consistently enough throughout the game. Couple of giveaways in the neutral zone that at the very least gave the national predators a couple of chances in transition, even though they didn't really amount to all that much. So he, even though he didn't have to make the save, you're still doing work on those plays, right? You're still getting ready for that. You're putting your body through, you know, preparing for a shot and tracking. I thought he played exceptional. And that's essentially what you can ask from a young goaltender who's playing on that barn for the very first time. - Randy, great stuff on the call tonight, man. A lot of fun watching the Vancouver Canucks come back from behind to win this and a pivotal game five coming up. The Canucks have a chance at advance to round two with a win on Tuesday and we can't wait to see them back in action at Roger's Arena. - Yeah, thanks boys, keep up the great work and I'm not gonna lie, me and Batch, we're getting the lozenges ready. We thought this was gonna go on for a while. Luckily, only one lozage was required, we're good. - Honestly, the fast overtime victories are the best ones. Like it's, it's a lot easier on the nerves. Zadora behind the net for garlic from Lindholm scores. Elias Lindholm wins it for the Canucks. 1-0-2 into overtime. He beats UC Sorrows from the slot and Vancouver has a stranglehold on this series. They lead it three games to one and they win it in Nashville. Four to three. - What a comeback by the Vancouver Canucks. And the national predators cannot believe it. Their fans are shell-shocked as Connor Garland with eyes on the back of his head. Makes a backhand pass to Elias Lindholm all by himself in the slot right in front of UC Sorrows and deposits the puck in the back of the net. This one here says I'm listening while I work. What the hell just happened? I can't believe that just happened. LOL, that's Ken and North Van. A lot of that reaction on the text box. The text like who missed the coverage there 'cause he's wide open in front. So we kind of did like four viewings of the replay here and this is where it's like that switch off between fours 'cause it looks like fours were gonna rily get mixed up here and that's where Lindholm is all left all alone. - Yeah, I think it's really Foresburg looking for a break. We talked about 50-50 pucks, how Nashville anticipates and they just go and they're willing to trade that risk off and that's exactly where the puck ends up going is to the front of the net and that's supposed to be high forward so you see Foresburg kind of out at the blue line, Cole's went in, there's nobody there so he knows he has a break there but that's his coverage. - Yeah, Cole pucks it down low and you can see Foresburg already start to bleed out and so he's going up, I can creep out and he's covering the middle of the ice that whole sequence and then he goes out of the way and he'll rily's up against the boards and he never is there to recover. - We are gonna get to your phone calls coming up in a moment but we are awaiting the Canucks head coach who will be up at the podium momentarily so we'll get to your phone calls after the head coach but here's the head coach at the podium in Nashville. - No, I mean, obviously you're happy with a lot of quit. I mean, obviously we got some things to work on but I mean, that's a good one. That three minutes, one is the game obviously. Obviously a great effort by Besser, three goals, hell of a play on that over time so you gotta take the pauses but we got some work to do obviously. - Why is it such a challenge? I mean, we saw what happened at the end and obviously the extra attacker helps a lot but you get pucks and people to the net. Why is it been such a challenge to do that on a regular basis against this team? - Well, I think generally the last couple of games I think they've been a little bit better on battles and skating, they're moving their feet. I find we're not moving their feet and we're kind of losing some battles. I don't think it's any technical thing. That's just my perspective. We gotta get some guys in the fight here a little bit but it's a lot easier to teach and prod and get guys going when you're winning. So hopefully this is gonna bring some juice to some guys. - Rick, can you walk us through the Smith timeline whether he's skated today, what his status is and also perhaps offer some thoughts on how Arter is performed for you tonight? - He practiced yesterday, he's a comparator. He wanted to go but we just wanted to play the safe route and Smitty, he understands and then we just went, I'm a big believer, you gotta make the decision right there. Smitty understood and we basically made the call yesterday. I forget what time but it was fairly mid-afternoon. - With Quinn through 40 minutes, he was your low man five on five in ice time and then was able to gut it out for you in the third. Looked like after that double hit there was maybe a little bit of distress on the bench. What can you say about his status and what do you take from the way he was able to compete through the third period up until he sort of changes that angle on the empty netter? - Yeah, they're running them and that's playoff hockey and we gotta help him out in certain situations, you gotta put himself in better positions. But like I said, if we're skating a little bit more quicker when in some more battles they're not gonna have as many chances to hit and then that'll help hockey. So I think it just goes around a circle for me. - Rick, as a player, you've been in similar spots to Besser has. How hard is it to have that level of patience, games clicking down, you know what's on the line? He makes two really nice patient plays and doesn't just score the goals, patient plays to create those goals. How difficult is it to be able to do that? - Yeah, so that's a pedigree of 40, score 40 goals, some plus goals this year. I've seen it happen all year. A goalscorer knows him, the past and actually, they know the right time to shoot it or sometimes somebody will over it. They'll just jam it in jam and he'll say that goal. He didn't jam it, he waited, brought it back. I don't know how many seconds were left. But that's Bess, right? He's got a really good hockey IQ to score goals. His timing is really, really good. - He's not a guy who's gonna talk and be a vocal leader, at least not for us. But what have you learned about him in the time you've been around him where he has the ability to put the team on his back and have the kind of game that he had tonight? Special third period. - I've really seen, like even throughout the year, like he's talks a lot more than last year. He is a leader in his own right. You know, like I think I said to you guys a couple of days, he's one of our better practice guys. Like, you do a drill, he's always doing it right. I think it pays off, you know? In games like this, when you gotta be in the right spots or you tell them up, there's a couple of things that we wanted to do, he was there to score the goal, right? That second stick guy, he listens. So I think he gets rewarded for it. - Rick, can you clarify for us? Is Dismith dealing with an injury? Or was there something? - Yes. - Okay. And does that complicate, and that combined with She Loves' performance tonight, does that complicate who you put in net for game five? - Well, you know, we're gonna evaluate, you know, like tomorrow we'll see how it goes. You know, I'm proud of it, especially the goal towards next man up mentality. You know, you know, those guys aren't, you know, those guys know what's the next man up. So I think that's the approach, and we'll see how it shakes out tomorrow. - Rick, how do you size up Quinn's play over all the series? You mentioned in terms of, you know, they're certainly more physical on him, the usage you were asked about and ice time, but, you know, maybe isn't controlling the play as much as he typically would throughout the season, and then you kind of see him flip the switch there in the last few minutes that he's a big part of making the magic happen. - Yeah, I think, I think Nashville is good. You know, their game plan, they send three at you. So sometimes you gotta play more of a give and go. You gotta give the puck up a little quicker, not saying Quinn, you know, our team. Sometimes I think when you get in trouble with this, Nashville is when you hold on to pucks too long, then you get doubled up on. And I think it's no different than the defense. As soon as you get it, sometimes you gotta move it right away and then maybe you get it down the road, but I think it's hard to play one-on-one hockey against Nashville. - You know, overcoming late deficits twice in the series, overcoming changes in goal. What do you think this says about the resiliency, the toughness of your group? - Well, that's, before we started the playoffs, I asked a couple of guys, what word would you describe this team all year? And we wanted to put it on a t-shirt or our hoodies, and they said resilient. That's our word. So that worked tonight on that t-shirt, that word for us, it's been like that all year. Certain spots we've been put in, somehow we get out of them. Might not look pretty, you know? Like tonight wasn't pretty, and we got out of it somehow. - Rick, a lot of coaches in this situation and having to turn to their third string goal to enter my holy crap, like, we just don't have a chance, but all Artie has done and for win for you last year even, and then the strategy, like how much confidence did that give you going into, I mean, throwing a kid into a tough spot obviously, but just the confidence that you had in him. - Yeah, I gotta tell you, when we decided not, you know, that we were going with Artie there, nobody was down, and we talked about him and laughed the last year, pressures, you know, I don't care that's still at the big stage there. Abbot's fruit, you know, he played some big hits from down there. He doesn't look nervous to me, like even before the game, like he doesn't say too much, kind of, I actually leave him alone because, you know, sometimes he'll always be left alone, but he just, I don't think that the moment's too big for him, I like his demeanor, right? I think watching Casey and watching Demer is something that he's watched the last couple of years for him, helped. And what did you think of the Forestburg goal in the moment? And have you seen replays? Did you think it was kicked in or? - I don't think so. I think those type of goals got to be allowed in the show. I think he re-directed it. There was, I understand if it's a huge kicking motion, but I think, yeah, they think they made the right call. 100%. Yeah. - Just a couple more. - Sure. - 'Cause I know you'd like to answer more about your goals. The fact you're now up 3-1, does that allow you to be even more cautious with Casey and just keep going with Artie? - Yeah, it's a tough question because obviously, you know, if Smitty feels good enough to go and, you know, we feel safely, you know, safely again there, you know, you know, you go with Casey, right? But saying that, we had Artie or we're confident with him. So I don't think it's a lose or lose loose proposition. I think we win either way. I think that the prudent thing is to get Casey healthy before we make any decision. - Do you expect that he would be an option for you? - Yeah, I think so. I think he would. - Rick, what are your biggest takeaways? You come to Nashville and win two different types of games. You take both games in Nashville, heading back to Vancouver. What are your biggest thoughts heading back home? - Well, I mean, you know, listen, they played really well in the last two games, Nashville. Who's kidding, who? We had some moments in the last two games where we hung in there, but we definitely have to correct some things. And we, I mean, I'm trying to be as honest as possible and I'm happy for the guys and I'm happy, but we know we got to play better and we got to get some guys going. When we, you know, you got to start to win some battles. I mean, you know, it's not about hitting, it's about actually holding on to pucks and winning battles because they play a style. If you can win some battles, you're going to get your looks. But if you're not, you're not going to get looks. And so I think that's really what comes down and we got to get some guys to understand that, you know, you got to start to really, you got to step up your game a little bit. You have to, if we, if, you know, if they're going to play like this again, they're coming in game five, they're not changing. You know, I know Bruno, he's a hell of a coach. His game plans there. They're sending three at us. And if we're not ready for it, you know, we might help you. It'll be as resilient the next game. - Rick, it seemed like, especially in the second period, when it looked like they'd broken the game open, it looked like they really did it off the rush, which you have not surrendered much of this season. Where are they having success there? And despite the emotional high, I'm sure you and the group have today, is that still a lingering concern for you going into-- - Yeah, I mean, we're not skating to four check and where, you know, then when we do skate, they're going the other way. So we're caught in between. You know, if we're not going to skate, we might as well play a one four and just stay back. But I, you know, we're not going to do that. But my point is we got to skate. You got to be connected. If we're skating off the four check, we'll have a minute. And if we're skating on the new regroups, it's no different than we have in our regroups. I didn't like our regroups with the puck. It seemed like we were sloppy. So, but there was about, there was some guys battle, no. I mean, I'm not going to name everybody, guys, like Ian Cole. These guys were battling ever. That's the, you know, Z was battling. And these guys played in place where you can tell they're stepping up their game. So hopefully it's infectious for the other guys. Male Bill Z, too. Okay, thank you. - That is Canucks head coach Rick Talkett after a four, three overtime victory, a comeback victory by the Canucks. We're down 3-1 in the third. A hat trick by Brock Besser in a LIES, a little in-home gets the overtime winner. And obviously very happy with them winning in this game. And at the podium is brought to you by Tile Town. From Vision to Reality, Tile Town is everything you need for your tiling project. See them today in Victoria, Richmond Langley, and online at mytiletown.ca. And the head coach, guys. Obviously pleased, but also mentioned, there are things they have to clean up. And he's hopeful that this victory, and guys like Zodorov, Cole, stepping up battling all night, JT Miller, is infectious for the other players on the team as well. - Yeah, you're still gonna have a certain level of honesty in the overall performance, right? You get caught up in the euphoria of the final five, six minutes, but in general, plenty still to work on from Rick Talkett. - Yeah, exactly. I like to hear that. They're just being honest with themselves. You know, they didn't have the best game, but... - You may have told one lie. We'll get into it a second in a bit on the Forzburg kick, but... (laughing) - Perhaps game's been shipped a little bit, perhaps? - Maybe, yeah, yeah, but you heard them talk about the resilient, right? And then that's something their group is taking pride in. And that's good. I mean, if you're gonna play those type of games, and that's the belief you have in the dressing room, that translated tonight. - Absolutely. And you know, he talked about certain things they have to do better. He mentioned some guys have to fight a little bit more, easier to teach and prod guys when you're winning. And it is interesting, 'cause when they're winning games, he typically is a little bit more critical at times, unless it's a really bad performance, but he had times like a lot of coaches that are savvy with the media. We'll try to pick their guys up when they're struggling, at least publicly, but then maybe prod them a bit more when they're winning. Is that the right approach to take? You won this game, but now you're honing on the guys that weren't good and really work on them to elevate their game for game five. - Yeah, I think it's easier to spin it into a positive manner with guys. When you get the win here, instead of when you're already down from a loss, and guys already feel bad, and then pile it on top of that, these guys are competitors. Like, as much as we talk about PD, not doing, like, he feels it. I mean, you gotta be-- - He knows. - He knows. So, in order, when you do have these type of games, I think for sure, it's easier to teach, 'cause it's easier. Guys will listen more. They wanna be responsive. They wanna come out and have a better performance. And it's just, yeah, it's easier to listen to after a win. - Well, that last little line there, just talking about it being infectious, right? Some guys are battling and it being infectious. Well, everyone's gotta kinda, yeah, has to do it at this time of year. - It's a contagious, in a good way. Not like the flu, right? But, you know, the other thing, too, about this game, the thing that he mentioned that I thought was really interesting was, they have a word that the players identify with for the season, resiliency. That's their word. And I know usually heading into the playoffs and stuff like that, you know, they'll rally around something. But is that the right word to describe this connect squad this season, resilient? - Yeah, moments of crises, right? Like, they've shown up. And even if you wanna say, like, the start of the season, right? The training camp goes this way, and there was a lot of expectations that the start was gonna be good. Well, they showed up for that. Slip a little bit against Philly a couple of times. Well, they show up through that. Four-game losing streak, show up through that. Every moment they've been questioned, they've shown up. And even going into game one, we thought, all right, what's it actually gonna look like for this team to try to elevate themselves? Well, just to think here with the 3-1 lead, and they've had to be resilient through this process. - Yeah, I would go back to last year. - Sure, yeah. - The one talk takes over, right? Just to, I don't know if you remember, Susie takes over, it actually gets worse. - Mm-hmm. - You get worse, and then we're talking about it. - Famous practice where it stops start whistles, right? It's like, this is how we do it. Tweet, this is how we do it. Tweet, it was a process. - Yeah, so it's stick with it. They've had to stick with it mentality the whole time, and exactly like you said, they've just kind of gone through that roller coaster, where they've stepped up to the plate, and answered a lot of questions when they had it, had that the entire way, and really came through. So I think it's good, and I like that the group identifies themselves as that, and stickin' with it. - Every challenge they had, you're right, Big. During the regular season, they met it head-on, right? It was, hey, can you beat good teams, and they beat good teams, and they had the month in April at home ice, too. They lost a bunch of good teams. They were like, can you guys beat good teams heading into the playoffs? They haven't beaten a playoff team in a month, and then they will beat VA, get Vegas, right? They beat, obviously, the Edmonton Oilers, and other things. - Winnipeg, and that's true. - Winnipeg, too, so they've beaten the good teams, so they've always responded one way or another. - No demco for five and a half weeks, right? - Yeah. - Now it wasn't perfect, but they got through, they won the division. - They pulled that off, and in this series so far, it wasn't a good 60 minutes, let's be honest. We talked about this, right? There's a lot of stretches, and you heard, and the head coach's voice, but you tie the game, but you get the three, two goal, everything changed. You saw how much energy they had. Now, obviously, a lot of luck with Colton Sizzons hitting the post, the empty net. That goes in. - Oh, boy. - It's over, right? We're having a completely different conversation here on the post game show. It doesn't, and the Canucks are just pouring it on and they eventually tie it, and obviously, over time starts, they're on their front foot, attacking Nashville, and the next thing you know, you win the game, and it's that flip, even though you got outplayed for the 60 minutes, that is, can you can identify with being resilient? - I imagine a lot of Canucks fans have taken some images out of this, and the pred celebrating on the bench, just thinking that goal went in with Sizzons. Like, there's Evan Jaleeast, Colton Smith. Like, there's guys celebrating dappin' up the teammates, and suddenly the play goes the other way, like, "Whoa, whoa, what, what, what, what, what's happening?" - Yeah, that one's gonna live on. Game four, Nashville's gonna be, you know, one that a lot of people remember. - Oh, absolutely, man. We have a lot of reaction on a text-in-box, 656. 50, Marty de Red says, "I love talking with it. "Some guys who stepped up, I'm not gonna say names. "Cole's a door out, give him enough time," he says. Where there were those that didn't step up, I'm not gonna say their names, though, but P.D., Joshua, of course. There were guys that need to be better, and I think part of the storyline, if this game would've not gone the Canucks way, it would've been all about the stars, right? And I thought Quinn didn't have a great game, but he had moments he'd cough the puck up, obviously on the first goal, that Nashville scored, and then he had moments where he couldn't get the puck going, and I was being targeted by Nashville players, of course, getting hit around a lot. But then when the Canucks, you know, on the 3-1 goal, he makes a great play, and then when we pulled the goal, he makes great plays. So even Quinn Hughes, up until the very end, wasn't have his best game. But Patterson, he wasn't a crosshairs, Brett, if this game would've turned any other way. - Is he ever not, the crosshairs? - Yeah, I mean, he didn't have his best, and we did it, and going back to Hughes, how many times? Actually, I loved him in the third, you saw him starting to cross over, he'd go back, and you'd see the cross over at him, just trying to get it going north and get his beat, and you kinda knew, all right, he's pushing here, and I think that was one of the catalysts. But going back to Petey, Petey needs to be better. It's, you know, it's getting to a point where you just gotta call a spade a spade there. He needs to get into the physical fight a bit more, it seems like he's trying to dance around the physicality, and pick his spots of where he wants to get a puck and make a play. - I think he's gotta stop thinking about where he fits in and just jab himself in there, really. - For Quinn Hughes, it was 12 minutes in change after two periods, 11.06 in the third period of ice time for Quinn Hughes. - Incredible. So he was big in the third. - He absolutely was, and a huge, huge comeback victory for the Vancouver Canucks. All right, let's take a couple phone calls before we hit the break. Let's go to the phone board, 604-280-0650 or toll free, 1-888-275-0650 here, on the Canucks Central Post Game Show, and we'll start things off by going to Coquitlam where we have Paul on the line. Paul, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? - Hey guys, so first I'll just reiterate what Ken from North Van had to say. What the hell just happened? I am shocked as everybody is. I'm glad you guys kept me on hold for 20 minutes because I would just been a blubbering idiot if you'd got me on there 20 minutes ago. So I'm a little bit more composed now. I have to admit, the third period. I spent most of the third period putting together my rant that I was gonna call in to you guys with. I was gonna, you know, there was a lot of criticisms I had, of course, you know, PD. I wasn't gonna dump on PD, but I was gonna dump on a few other guys. But whatever, that's behind us now. It's unbelievable how this team continues to surprise us. I mean, who would have guessed that the Vancouver Canucks, of all teams, would come back from a two gold set of just minutes left in a game like that where they were getting absolutely no chances. So, I don't know, I'm just still kind of stunned about what we just saw here. And I'm super excited about the next game. And I actually really like the next strategy of changing our goal is every game. So I look forward to, what is it, TotalPilo? So hopefully you wins game four for us. So that'll be great. Thanks guys. - Thanks to the phone call, Paul. Hey, I wouldn't shock me with the way Canucks have been going through their goal tenders here in the postseason. Let's keep it going on the phone lines. Let's get through some of our fans or hyped up about what they're seeing here tonight. All right, let's go to Vancouver where we have Gary on the line. Gary, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts after the Canucks come from behind for three overtime win? - Well, Matt, I was ensuring the same sentiments you did during the third intermission there that you feel can be said, oh, yep, they're gonna tie this game now. 'Cause instantly, after I shouldn't hit the post, I was thinking of Patrick Stefan hitting the post and then Alex Hemsky taking the puck the other way and scoring for the Oilers. I don't remember what year that was, but it happened. And that's why you gotta believe in this team. And silly things happen. I was actually lighting a message to you guys about blasting PD, how the Canucks are playing poorly, passing isn't great. And then I had to delete that. And then just jump up and down and almost break my head on the ceiling of my workplace here because I was overly excited. But I still will take this time to kind of criticize PD because he definitely needs to be better. He's taking every opportunity to shoot. He's passionate, right? And he's not staying hard on the board. He's getting knocked over by everybody. Something's going on with the guy and he's gotta fix it. I'm trying to get hashtag Elliott Pasterson trending on X now. So I don't know if that'll catch on, but the guy's gotta be good. - You know, I don't disagree with you. And Gary, thanks to the phone call. Excited for you and Canucks fans feeling hyped here tonight. And don't get injured. We had a lot of people also texting in about, you know, they're driving and they heard the goal call and almost drove off the road. Please don't drive off the road. Please be careful when listening to the Canucks and their calls and these thrilling overtime victories. Yeah, Eric, Eric and Dawson, Craig, I almost crashed cheering so hard when Batch had the game winning goal. Kidding on the crashing part, let's go Canucks. So Canucks fans, very excited, but PD, yes. I mean, that was gonna be the big topic, right guys? Like if the Canucks don't win this game, even if they won it is still a topic worth discussing, when is PD going to make his mark on the series? 'Cause the mark he's made so far was not a positive one. - Yeah, he needs to be better. But you see, I think Lindholm getting that OT and we were so like, thrilled at the chaos that we didn't pick our winners. And then we kind of jokingly was like, this is where PD used to be a hero, right? - Well, we got the Elias part, right? - Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. But I mean, if you look at Lindholm, it stopped him coming back from his injury, right? He was kind of going through a tough spell. Where does he fit? How does he do it? And then he's come out and he's kind of, I think he's performed really well and now he's a hero tonight and flips a bit of the narrative. And I think PD can easily do that. We know he can do that, he needs to find it. Like I said, I think he just needs to force himself in there. Stop trying to figure it out and just head first. Don't put your toe in, jump in the bull here. - It's easier when the team is winning too, right? And now you can look at this through four games. All right, they've bailed it out to some degree. And every time you get a win, it's like, it delays a necessary moment for Pederson to rise back up. You can say, okay, look, you got a two-game lead here. You'd like to see it happen in game five, of course, but you can just breathe a little bit and the team can still get their win and hopefully there's some recovery, kind of, he'll heal some ailments for everyone. But it's like, it just buys you an extra day for eventually, like, look, I know there's complaints about it, but he can't be a really good player. He should be a really good player. - Well, of course, yeah. - You don't get 11.6 ticket without a lot of belief in your abilities from the organization and in yourself. It will manifest, it's just like win. But every time that this team has gotten a win now, it's just like, it just buys you a little bit of time for him to kind of go through this. - And the overall team game, we'll talk about that as well and what the Canucks can do a lot better. We'll hear from more Canucks players post-game and we'll get to more of your phone calls, more of your text messages as a Canucks Central post-game show continues, presented by number five, Orange. The game is over it, but is your night really done? Number five is open. It's sat, bic, and Brett. We'll be back on Sportsnet 650. - Miss any part of Halford and Bruff in the morning? Subscribe to the show wherever you get your podcast and don't miss an episode. - This is the Canucks Central post-game show. - Join the discussion on the official home of the Canucks, Sportsnet 650 and the Sportsnet Radio Network. - Patterson, to the right circle, Queen U shoots it just missed wide of the goal. Miller gets it left side. 22 seconds left, Patterson long shot, that was kept in the slot two and missed the target. And the puck is in the left corner, Yoshi gets it free, clears it around far point, Hughes holds in, made a move around Nightwish who fell. High slot, Patterson, left circle, Miller shoots, got my circle three down, on the outside of that, the Besser scores, Brock Besser on his own rebound, ties the game at three with 6.2 seconds, left in the third period, Besser picks up the hat trick and the Canucks come all the way back down three to one with three minutes left and this game is tied and it's Brock Besser who does the job. - Better late than never for the Vancouver Canucks. - Before we started the playoffs I asked a couple of guys what word would you describe this team all year and we wanted to put it on a t-shirt or our hoodies and they said resilient, so that's our word. So that work tonight on that t-shirt, that word for us, it's been like that all year. Certain spots we even put in, somehow we get out of them. Might not look pretty. Like tonight wasn't pretty and we got out of it somehow. - That is Canucks head coach Rick Talkett after thrilling four, three over time victory in game four and national game suppress the Canucks taking a commanding three-one series lead and this is the Canucks time to post game show presented by number five orange Satya Arshah, Brett Festrilling and Bick Nazar keep your thoughts coming into our text unbox 650650 you can grab a phone line 6042800650 you heard the call coming in Brock Besser Hatrick tying the game in the third period with two goals, all three Canucks goals and regulation were scored by Brock Besser who follows up a sensational regular season with an incredible postseason around one. His fourth goal in the series already guys. - The sixth Canucks Hatrick in franchise history like Hallward Jeff Courtney, he's got two Pavel Burrey and Trevor Lindid has been done since 1996. So Brock Besser, number six, four, hey number six, number six. Number six getting the sixth, the Canucks Hatrick in playoff history. - Yeah, he's so good in front rate that the 10th radius around the net. He's so good there and we talked about him getting lost but even just finding loose pucks like-- - Loss as a compliment, like I love that. - Yeah, like finding the soft spots. - Yeah, exactly, just getting-- - Losing the coverage, yeah. - Yeah, he spots the demon in taking an orthodox roast where you're just not expecting the guys to come from there and then he just finds that. Like think about the actual, the tying one, he banks it off the side. He pulls it back and it puts it off the side of the net, sticks with it. I thought that opportunity was gone. I thought the game was over there. Sticks with it, brings it back forehand. Like he's incredible around the net there. He really has been and the coach was lauding his work in front of the net yesterday when he met with the media. That has been a mindset shift for him actually this morning when asked about where his game has been at and how things have been going for him and the dedication he has and how he's really reframed his game about where to go to score goals and what to do to be effective. And you saw it this year, 40 goals and picking it up right where it left off here in the postseason. A lot of reaction on the text inbox, 650, 650. This one here says, "Need to get Brock Besser his flowers." He was unbelievable. I got so much hate for defending Besser through his lows, glad to see his hard work is paying off. Another conoc that was under a lot of scrutiny the past few years and had tremendous season here so far. Let's go to the phone boards. Let's take a couple of phone calls, 604-280-0650, your toll free, 1-888-275-0650. And let's go to Calgary where we have Brayden on the line. Brayden, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? What's going on tonight, boys? I am so freaking happy right now. I'm gonna try and keep this PG because I know we're on live. - Thank you. - All right, let's just start off by saying Miller, Besser, who wonders my draft these last two games? Can't thank him enough. Secondly, everybody calling in to complain here. There's been a few guys calling in to complain. Boys, we lost Dr. Demko. We were supposed to be out. We lost Casey to Smith this afternoon. Oh, there goes the Canucks. Let's give the boys some credit where it's due. We have adversity. We are facing it. We are doing wonders. We are the Canucks for the first time in the playoffs. In 10 years, minus the bubble, we just won with our third string goalie. Stop complaining. Enjoy the win. Have fun. Let's go back to Vancouver. Let's do it in five games and let's move on and hopefully we get Demko, even Casey to Smith back. But hopefully, I'm thinking this national series, this is what some of the boys need to figure out what the playoffs are like, like Hoaglander, Pedersen, all that, they are going next series. Let's just have fun, guys. Let's appreciate what's happening right now. Forget about it. There's a lot of discussions that probably should happen with the team and with a lot of guys on the team. But don't let that cloud the success that we are having right now. Just enjoy it. - Hey, Braden, thanks for the phone call. Good sober thoughts on where the Canucks are at and what you should be. I mean, listen, I'm not going to tell fans what to enjoy, how to feel or whatever, like enjoy it, feel whatever you want. But when you're up 3-1 and you came back and won the way you have and you've had your top two goalies out, you were going to your third string or you pull off a come from behind victory. I understand and I would agree that my focus would very much be on enjoying the victory and coming from behind and winning it as opposed to really focusing on negatives. Now, you can have both discussions, of course, but I get for tomorrow. - I get Braden's point, I get Braden's point. - Watch the film tomorrow and then be like, "Oh, here's some things tonight." It's just like, revel it, man. 75% of the job is done, right? It's like going for a first down in the NFL, right? We're all talking about the Stanley Cup, but just get yourself a new set of downs and they're one away from doing that. - Keep moving the chains, right? - Yeah. - Right now they're moving the chains. All right, let's go to Chilliwack where we have Mike on the line. Mike, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? - That was a one heck of a game. You know what, that guy's right. We just got to enjoy the moment and you know what, I think the word he used resilient, I think the different, I'd say character fits more of this team effort because all the way around, when it's down 3-1, I wasn't ready to quite to give up or when they hit the post on the anti-net, I thought, there's the turning point right there. And when that happened, it was great. And another point I have is the big defense one, 91. What's his name? - Zoroff. - I can't remember Zoroff, having him up in front of the net, I've always wanted to try and have him up during the season on the power blade because he's a big body, he's actually good with his stick and he's aggressive and that's what you need. Some of you are in front of the net to make that puck come loose for one of our guys like Besser or Miller or whatever to put it in the net. And then my last point is, I think that Gwyn Hughes, yeah, he's getting run a lot and I think that he showed a lot of the word resilient to come back into the game and play that third period. You can tell he was kind of favoring a bit and hurting a bit, but otherwise, other than that, I say great game and I believe the Canucks are, they're gonna turn things around a little better than the next game. But I think the biggest thing is the neutral zone. We have to work on our neutral zone play because let's put it this way, game two to game three, we were shutting down the neutral zone. This game, they were just walking right bias in the neutral zone and you know why it's because we weren't skating, we weren't running our feet and at that I'll just let you go and thank you very much. - Hey, thanks to the phone call Mark and Brett to that point, something you noticed watching this game too and the coach mentioned that after game three did not love how the Canucks played through the neutral zone and how often did we see tonight? Them gaining speed, being able to get a forecheck just because of how they were able to cut through the neutral zone, the prets. - Yeah, we'll take your second goal or the goal off the draw in the third period. They come back and regroup and gather that speed. You see the Canucks just kind of stay flat-footed. That's usually where you want to kind of match the speed, get up, close that gap and match the speed coming back. Instead, Yoshi's got all the speed coming down the wall. Their heroic tries to adapt to it. He ends up falling in that list of that. So you heard talk a lot about guys skating. It's all skating in neutral, closing gaps. That takes away the speed. And then on the other side, putting plays together and skating through the neutral and having little speed to create a forecheck that doesn't allow them to get the speed the other way. That's what you heard talking about. So yeah, I agree, the neutral zone needs to be cleaned up a lot and the skating and just getting the puck going north. It doesn't always need to be a perfect pass. We talked about how aggressive Nashville is. If you can get pucks behind with speed and support, you should have some success there as well. On Zadorov as well. We have a text here. I've just lost it. There's so many texts coming in here. Kevin from Calgary, unnoticed on the last goal is Zadorov. Boxing out two guys in front of the net so they couldn't check Besser on the second chance. And yeah, he's got two guys on his backside. They're both trying to fight to get to the back post and there's that puck that sneaks in on the back post. Yeah, no, it's a great shout. And Zadorov, he's a guy that was really trying to-- At times, maybe he had the turnover when he skated into a Preds player after his own blue line created two-on-one. They didn't capitalize, obviously. But I can forgive some of that, because he was somebody that was trying to do something. He was trying to impose his will into the game. And I'll take the odd mistake if you're trying to force the issue. Yeah, I think you could see him exactly trying to make a difference, whether it was hit, whether it was shot jumping up. And then, yeah, that's a great play. If you get in behind the D, and then you just set up Zadorov so the four guys in the slot can't get back to the back. It's not necessarily how you draw it up, but it doesn't mean he's not effective on that goal. Yeah, he's very effective. Absolutely. All right, let's continue on the phone boards. Let's take another phone call here. We'll take more on the other side, and continue a lot of your reaction on the text inbox as well. OT has extended the post-game show. We're going to 7.30, all right? We have iMac coming up later to hopefully we'll see how it goes, but we're going to be here, and then we're going to pass you off to another hockey game tonight that is happening in the NHL playoffs. But let's continue on the phone boards. Let's go to Surrey, where we have Mark on the line. Mark, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? Oh, hi, gentlemen. Yeah, I just wanted to mention how I find it a little bit odd that people are nitpicking a little bit of the players on the perimeter without really recognizing the importance of JT Miller's work. He's been like the engine and the driver for this series as you know, he's just been like everywhere. He's like a brought pilot. And I just think he could be the Conce Mike's winner is a connect skill far in the playoffs. And you know, we've all been abused with losses and stuff in the past, but he's just like phenomenal. Yeah, he's fantastic. Thanks to the phone. Yeah, I appreciated Mark. Mark calling in from Surrey there on JT Miller. I mean, JT's been an absolute demon, right? I mean, you talk about the physicality he plays with. He had three points tonight, three assists on the evening, right? Brock Besser obviously had the hat trick. Pedersen also got a point for those wondering what a Pedersen like. There is a point. Point to game on the road. Elias Pedersen, there you go. Two points on the road. Big saying that's going to have people mad. I think I said the over-under is two and a half. I was like, I'll take the over on two and a half. So this is a little under-point. Just under-point to game. But JT Miller, I mean, hey, to Mark's point. If you go to the cup final, then sure, right? I mean, hey, we're still on the first round. But right now, JT is having the type of performance that's like he's putting his team on his back in many ways. It's maybe not quite like Brian Kessler against the Preds in 2011. It's a pretty good impression. It's a pretty good impression, isn't it? It's 57% in the draw tonight. By the way, Lindholm, 75% in the draw. It's a point in 1751 with the two points as well. But JT Miller, yeah, three assists, 21.40 on the Ice Knight. Two shot at them. It's one of them on net. Yeah, I believe Tockett's post-game game two, he said, Miller wills this team into the games. And that's what he does every night. And we saw it coming down the stretch and to March, right, when they were looking for that other game. Miller's found it. And he's really dragging everybody into it. The play to me that showcases it. The one where he bats the puck down, takes it hard to the net, gets a shot off. And then the wherewithal, through all the commotion of sliding into sorrow, it's like D-man on you. It's like, oh, suitor's coming up. Yeah, I'll just slide this puck to like the unbelievable play to slide that puck to pew suitor. It goes off the crossbar, unfortunately. But nevertheless, you won't talk about someone who's doing it all right now. It certainly is JT Miller. And with physicality. Well, and that's the big part. Like, he's been such an imposing figure as well. I mean, he's like chucking guys around the ice. He's a physical presence. And I did see a lot of people mention the Canucks getting pushed around tonight. It was a physical game. The Canucks that out hit Nashville by the end of it. But did you feel like the physical edge was a Nashville's favorite tonight? Like, did you get that sense, Brett? Not in like a big out hit them. There was a lot of 50 pucks. The battles? Yeah, they won. They won a lot of those battles. Yeah, it was not the big imposing, not the guy on his back. But it was digging, getting 50/50s either at either blue line. Like, one on one my note is one my positive note for midway through the third is Garland won a wall battle, at least. That just shows where their wall battles were at. So I think in terms of that battle, Nashville had the upper hand tonight. But then again, we won the game. Yeah, no kidding. I mean, it all comes down to winning the game now. Game 5, it's this new entity, right? And Brett, we look forward to chatting with you during Intermissions and Post game. On Tuesday, when the Canucks host a preds for game 5 and a chance for them to advance to the second round. Thank you. Two hour rule. Two hour rule. All right. Two hour rule. Yeah, that's two hours. Enjoy the till 8.30 and then carry on? Yeah. Exactly. Then you've got to move over. All right, we'll get to more of your reaction and more post game reaction for Canucks players as sat and big on the Canucks under a post game show presented by the number five orange of Vancouver legend. They've got sports two. More next on SportsNet 650. Hey, it's Dan Reacho. And that's your shot. Join us for Canucks Central, where we will set up the game and break down the latest around the Canucks. 4 to 6 p.m. and post game on SportsNet 650 and wherever you get your podcasts. This is where you talk Canucks. You're listening to the Canucks Central Post Game Show on the official home of the Canucks. SportsNet 650 and the SportsNet Radio Network. They dump it into the Nashville Inn. Yoshi, back to it on the end boards. There's an eye around the wall far side. Ryan O'Reilly gets it out to center. Using his own line, hope to free. That comes to Sizzling's left wing. Came to the Vancouver zone. Back Henry hit the post, but it stayed out. And Hughes clears it all the way down. This is going to be icing against Vancouver. So she loves will be forced to go back into the goal. Canucks inches away from losing game four are still in it now. But they won't be able to change. Quinn Hughes has been out there for nearly a minute and looks absolutely exhausted. North Vans Colton Sizzling's looks like he has this game on his stick, looks like it's over. A backhand shot hit the inside of the post. And the national bench was ready to celebrate. But no, it pops right back out and gives Vancouver another chance here. The Vancouver Canucks. Unbelievable. Four, three overtime victory over the Nashville Predators to take a 3-1 series lead down 3-1. In the third period, Brock bachelor with a hat trick. All three in regulation, lift the Canucks. Two overtime where lies Lindholm puts the game away, sealing it for the Vancouver Canucks. And you heard the call there, Colton Sizzling's an incredible chance to put the game away, but hits the post on an empty net big. And we saw the reaction from the Preds bench. The players feel like, man, we just put the game away. They're about to celebrate, oh, the puck didn't go in. Now you lost this hockey game. You go from being a 2-2 series to a 3-1 series deficit. The emotional swing. That must have on the players. The toll that takes on those players that now have to lift themselves back up and try to come back and have a better performance or a similar performance to try to win again in game five. It must seem like such an uphill battle for a team that was moments away, seconds away from tying this series up. It's one of those things that every player is going to say, we just take it one period of time, one shift at a time. That's all well and good, right? And that's the right mantra. But when you're down 3-1 after this series of events that's transpired here, the first moment in game five is going to feel like huge. Yeah. It's like, oh, man, it's like, we've got to get this one right. And that's why going into game five, I mean, we'll spend tomorrow talking about the future. But for me, it's like the first goal of game five, huge. Massive and huge. When the Canucks did not have the same level of urgency as the press hat tonight, right? And for good reason, to some extent. But like the coach mentioned, there's a lot more to give from the Canucks players. So if they bring it, bring that on Tuesday, on Tuesday, play with energy. And by the way, how fired up is the crowd? The crowd is going to be-- It's going to be bananas. Oh, baby. It's going to be unbelievable. So if they show up and play with energy the first 10 minutes and the crowd's going nuts and the Canucks take a lead, that's going to be a devastating emotional swing for the national predators. And that's why winning this way in a series can have a pretty big effect beyond just a single game. And we'll see how the national predators respond here coming in to game five. Keep your thoughts coming in to our Dunbar Lumber text in the box, $6.50, $6.50. A lot of reaction, a ton of text messages. I apologize. We can't get to all of yours or react with all of yours. Oh, brother. Yeah, there's just so many. Jazzy says, I don't recognize the emotions I'm having right now texting in. And this one here says, do you think the national is a team that has what it takes to come back from such a rough loss? That must be a real confident skill. And as we talked, it has to be-- I'm not going to-- it's hard to predict these things. I would imagine it's going to be hard for them to come back from a loss like that, even if they win game five. You still get to win three games in a row now. Yeah, it's a huge, huge task. Now, look, elimination games always toughest, right? You get a team's best punch. And that's why I do say the first goal is going to be key for me in that regard, because national is going to bring it in game five. And look, they've stifled the Canucks these last two games. How much of that will translate into game five? Seriously, it's by no means over, but the task just got significantly tougher. And thing is, too, it's-- for me, it's like, what do you want to take away from the Canucks in these last five minutes of that game first-minute OT, final four minutes, is opportunities are there. And Rick Talkett has talked about this confidence that he feels like chances are there. It almost just feels like sometimes they've rushed some things. Well, they have. And there's still a lot more quality that they can get out of this roster. Jay and Poco says, we're getting a good look at who is billed for the playoffs and who isn't if the Canucks are building a cup team. Here, they can have passengers, especially high-paid ones. And yeah, there are players that can and should play a lot better. And if they do bring it in game five and you win this series, to the point you made earlier, and I thought you nailed it, do you buy yourself enough time to get guys going, like Patterson going here, if you win this series. Now you give yourself a bit more runway and another series to see if you can get your guys on track. Yeah, that's the thing, right? I'm not going to say here and say he's been fantastic. I joke him with the two points, right? But this is now just results. Just get a W. And there's going to be a demand that's necessary. From a lot of fans, say, Elise Patterson's got to be better. Yeah. But every time you get a win, it just buys you a little bit of time. And this isn't the regular season. It's like, oh, ho-hum, what's it going to look like? To achieve the ultimate goal, yeah, they're going to need him, of course. But every win right now just buys you a little bit of time for a player of his caliber to get on Hot Treat. And it doesn't take much for players of his caliber to get on that stage. You know, this tech says this team is going to be unreal when EP 40 is back from LTIR. But either way, whichever way you phrase it, when he comes back and the Canucks are alive hopefully, then hopefully that means even better things for this team. Let's hit a couple more text here. Jason McCutlam says, love the fact that Besser put this team on his back and got us to OT. This guy has been through so much and it's beautiful to see him have success. Great tending from Shilob's in a critical time for the Canucks. Lindy's showing his worth as well. Let's hope our boy P.D. can step up and we'll definitely be needing him. Just wondering what your thoughts are when we might see P.D. Cole's in, go Canucks go, Jason from McCutlam. I mean, do you think there's a chance? They didn't have enough energy. Honestly, I really like the fourth line. P.D.G. was good defensively. Yeah. I don't think the fourth line was the issue. They bring some energy and they're willing to throw some hits along the boards in the offensive zone. I think fourth line is doing fine. I feel like I noticed the fourth line when they're out there. Yeah, no, they have been really good. In this text, do we have a three-way Goldie controversy? Jason McCutlam gave love to Shilob's. This one asks for a three-way Goldie controversy. No, I'm already in Sydney. He's also what a gutsy performance by Shilob. So proud of the young man. Team looked thrilled for him as well. Yeah, so your boy, Shilob's. You want to take a victory last? I tried saying, man. This series could have been a sweep set if he started a game too, OK? If Shilob's in net, we don't know. We don't know. So if Shilob's in net, the Canucks would be up three times. Let's go Arty and then over. He's there and let's say. We could have seen some handshakes tonight. I don't know. I tried saying it weeks ago, months ago. He tried telling us all. You know what, all kidding aside, because I do think you're kidding. Yeah, I was. No, he was-- He was terrific. I'm not kidding about his performance night. He was spectacular. There was a couple of just calm, cool moments. And we talked about in the first intermission, like some rebounds. The rebounds that he directs out to the boards. To me, that's settled. That's confident. It's not that this myth doesn't make the saves. It's not that he doesn't even follow up the next saves as well. Like, that's scrambled? Man, like, it's a rubber puck on ice. You just don't know what sometimes those second chance opportunities is going to bounce one way. Like, Ryan Riley pokes one just wide. Like, that's scrambled. Do we have more than one on Shilob's tonight? No, no, not a ton. Like, he's sucked everything up. Yeah, Ed, he did not leave anything out there. He didn't even leave a lot of change on the ice. It's casey to dismiss playing style, and he succeeds with it. But it's dangerous. And one little bounce can go complete against you. And I just thought Shilob's like, glove saves. The glove save, I know we talked about earlier, where he made a big one on a low to high pass. The one I thought was great was the one he caught across his body. Yeah, and what's the reason for that? Why did I give you some extra encouragement of his play? It just so eggy, man. Like, that to me is you look really confident that you will do that. Just grab it, face off, chill, and everything just kind of calms down. Like, he looks someone that's poised for the moment. He did look terrific. And, you know, the head coach mentioned they have to make a decision for game five. But considering how well he played, because his degree of difficulty was pretty high tonight to a certain spot, right? Like, he made up some pretty good saves. He looked for a very compact and an end position. How did I not go with him in game five? I-- right? You kind of have won two in game two, let alone in game five. No, fair enough. But, like, my whole thing was, I knew that the Smith was going to start in the playoffs. If something happened to the Demko, it was going to be the Smith getting the first crack at, right? He got two games, he got injured. The kid got his chance. He looked terrific. And I don't know. I kind of want to go back to him in game five, you know? And that's not to say the Smith hasn't played well. It hasn't done his thing. But just the way he looked and how they won this game, the way they came from behind, the way that he actually kept him in the game, despite it being three, one hundred-- The queue was on the ice, or sorry, off the ice, get the extra attacker on. Yeah, I mean, all those little things that out. Every second counts from trying to come back in the last second victory. Sportsnet stat, Canucks are the first team to have three different goalies earn victories in the same playoff series since the Canucks in 2004. Alex Aldio and Hedberg, Dan Kluche. Our boy Aldi. And honestly, you don't know about why that happens? This series and why the goaltending have had their successes. It's four told three years ago. And the club signed Ian Clark, right? Like people leave the organization to all these things. And it was such a priority. You talk about Dr. Demko, like, at the end of season press there, but like, just bring the guy back, man. Just bring the guy back. And even in these moments when we've talked about like the Smith and She-Loves and what's Demko's status, I've never really had too much panic over it. Because you know why? Like the club's goal-tending is handled by Ian Clark. One of the best, or the best in the league, is an institutional strength. Yeah, and the storyline that's dominated this series has been the status of the goalies. But goal-tending has not defined the series. No. And that to me is like, what a safe place to be in for your Canucks fan that you know you're going to get reliable goal-tending. Because so much goes into getting these guys ready for the moment. And three years ago, that was a huge pivotal moment. Because for me, it always defined the pro level. It's so important to get to this position, right? Well, and they're not just getting your right. Like they're excelling with it, right? And it's been absolutely tremendous to watch, especially tonight, Arthur Shiloff. Tremendous for the Vancouver Canucks between the pipes. We'll get to more of your text messages. James Pender-Harber says, maybe Tullopilo gets a start in game five. What do you guys think? Probably not. But I mean, you never know with how things are going with Canucks. Tullopilo? Or Tullopilo? Tullopilo. I'm in butchering his name. Sounds like Tallapia when you say it. Tallapia, I know, that's my bad. It's not great. I thought it was Tullopilo. You're probably right. It is Tullopilo. It is Tullopilo. Tullopilo. You're right. It is. This one says, no, you know, what rebounds from Shiloff. Seriously. That's huge. Yeah, it is. All right. And we'll get to more of your text as a show goes on. Let's hit the phone board. 604-280-0650, you're toll free. 1-888-275-0650. And let's go to Edmonton, where we have Mike on the line. Mike, thanks for calling in. What do you have tonight? Hey guys, thanks for fielding my call. I want to actually talk about concerns for Brock Besser. I know he had a fantastic night, obviously, recorded the hat trick. But many years ago, he had a back injury where he broke his back. And tonight, just the way that he had to carry the whole roster, the guy is going to need to book a few Cairo appointments. And hopefully, he can play like that, continuing and going on in the series. Because when he adds a lot of that play driving to his game, he's really a phenomenal player. And unfortunately, we don't see it enough, but he's really, really brought at this series. And I just want to give him his dues, because he deserves it. He had a phenomenal game. He carried the play. He willed the team to a victory. And he deserves recognition. And I know the team didn't play good, but you got to give him his flowers tonight. Thanks for the call, boys. You got to have a good night. Yeah, I appreciate it. Thanks for the phone call. That's a good call they were talking about also what Brock Besser has done, and how far he's come. He's announced his arrival. He really has. And it was such a tough season for Brock Besser last year. And we all know what happened and how close he may have been, or maybe not have been, to be moved. Because his contract was looked at as a bit of an anchor around the league. Believe that, believe it or not, he looked like he was a bit of an anchor, now coming off a 40 goal season. And now four goals in the postseason as well. Let's continue on the phone boards. And let's go to Shane and Duncan. Shane, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? Hey guys, how's it going? Excellent. Yeah, I'm just going to like a Cheshire cat over here on the island. We went into music down USA and stolen. Like when's the last time the Canucks have done anything like that? These guys are so resilient, or maybe resilience, not the right word. They're just so strong. And Queen Hughes has been the perfect example of a leader for this team. Man, the guy has been taken a beating. And in the last three minutes tonight, he looked fit as a fiddle. He looked like the guy that we always expect to show up. And he was in charge for those last two goals. The Canucks scored. Yeah, great stuff. Thanks for the phone call. Yeah, for me, we talked about the other day about Patterson. And it's just like, if you make mistakes, you got to wash them away, right? You got to move on quick. Or at least if it's mistakes you make that lead to goals against, you've got to be able to neutralize that. Or at least equalize it. And I thought Queen Hughes had some issues. So of course of the day. Absolutely. But man, those last few minutes, those last four minutes, suddenly it's like, that's the value in superstars, is in a moment when you need them, they rise up. And he's not going to get an assist on the better tying goal. But I mean, he does Nyquist. His whole work reasons Nyquist is sliding into the corner. Like, that's fantastic work. And it sets up that whole sequence. And you overcome that moment. And his work on-- you know, maybe he does just enough on systems there with flashing the stick and trying to get him to delay that shot and changes the angle of systems backhanding it. Like, that's just enough. And to clear out, you know, get the icing. It's-- in the last four minutes, he was spectacular. He really was, man. And I mean, on the three, two goal, the play he makes on the two four checkers to evade them and get the puck out of his own zone. And then the play on the tying goal doesn't get an assist for it. It doesn't get any points tonight. But those two plays, he doesn't make those two plays big. The Canucks don't tie this game. And now it's stepping up in a big moment for Quinn Hughes. And absolutely fantastic performance from him. In the last few minutes needed more from him. And he showed up in a big, big way. A lot of reaction on the text in the box, $6.50, $6.50. We'll get to more of this as the show goes on. But this one here says, "Your right pick or fifth string goalie got 47 saves with Abby to get us to the next round." Yes, the Abistard Canucks also-- Yeah, there you go. Good time. "Being Zacksawchenko, they beat Colorado. They won their best of three series. They're moving on to the next round. So a big, big day for the Canucks organization. Abby doing his thing, and the Vancouver Canucks doing their thing on the big club as well. What else are you seeing on the text in the box? $6.50, $6.50, wrong. She lost was not tremendous. He simply did enough to not lose the game. I think you have to inject a little bit of context here as well. This is a young player. Doesn't have a lot of top-level experience. And you're getting thrust into the spot where multiple goalies have come down in multiple days here in short order. And to step in and win this, even if it wasn't Dominic Hatchic level, it's still unbelievable job by She loves to step in. The $6.50 in Palm Springs by the pool. So of course, $6.50 is on. Everyone was going crazy. That's Mike, the meteorologist. I flipped over my chair, but it was worth it. Go Canucks go. This one, Sandra in Tacoma. It wasn't pretty game by any means. In the end, you just find a way that's playoff hockey. Let's say for the incredible comeback. And on to game five. Yeah, and William Langley says it's my first full playoff hockey experience that they're moving from Brazil to Canada. In January of 2011, the last time I had such an emotional experience watching any sport was when Brazil won the 1994 World Cup. This team is legit. Canucks have a real chance here, even though a lot in this league do not believe in the Canucks. Go Canucks go William and Langley. That's '94 squad. And we'll run you a tough firewall. Yeah. Juginio. Juginio and-- Babetto. Yeah. Romario. Romario. And I remember. And I remember they beat Sweden in the semi-final. Oh, yeah, that's a core memory for you. It is a big core memory for me. That's semi-final. And it was very heartbreaking. One nil win, I think it was for Brazil, who went on to win the World Cup that year. And Sweden got the bronze medal beating Romania. Or Bulgaria. No, sorry. They beat Romania in like earlier rounds. And they beat Bulgaria for the year. Anyways, all right. I got sidetracked. I got excited talking about the World Cup back in 1994. Core memory activated. We'll get to more text messages. This one here says-- now that's playoff hockey connects are being dominated. But you never give up. Dig in and gritty effort. Brought a win. Good on the guys and good on Shilov's. They got the blood pumping. Andy in Parksville. Dan and Oakville living in the Toronto market. I think it's so interesting, contrasting the Lease Bruin series versus the Canucks Preds. And particularly the bickering incident on the Lease bench last night. Contrasting so much with the overall team vibe and camaraderie for the Canucks. Talent and luck were factors tonight, yes. But very much feel that in the face of adversity, this team has real character. Yeah, and these are types of wins that make you believe because things go your way, right? Whether you think it's because the team played well or, hey, things are maybe aligning for us, so to speak. Brandon and Vancouver says, I consider myself a rational fan, but I was envisioning Preds in 6 until Besser tied it. Now, we're an unstoppable cup favorite again. That's Brandon and Vancouver. So the tide is turning for the enthusiasm. You and I were both Preds in 5? Or sorry. Conquecks in 5. Conquecks in 5. Conquecks in 5, yes. They have a chance. I maybe would have added one more just because, you know, Demko midway through. Gulten has been a problem, though. But it certainly hasn't been a problem. Maybe, and like you said, if they start a Shilla, I would have been overall. Yeah. And we're talking about it. We'll give it the extra hug in the handshake line. Yeah. We'll see. No cup in the building, obviously, on Tuesday, but handshakes. Handshakes will be in the building on Tuesday. Could be in the building on Tuesday. Bick, are you calling it? Are you saying the Canucks are going to win on Tuesday? No, it could be in the building. It can be in the building. It can be in the building, yeah. All right, don't want to get too ahead of yourself. Shakes in the building. Yeah, they are here. All right, let's take another phone call here. Let's go to Lions Bay, where we have Jose on the line. Jose, thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts tonight? First of all, guys, it's so nice to talk about playoff hockey instead of-- remember this? Meaningful game down the coast. It's the best. It's the playoff playoff six point. Right. Oh, my gosh. And you know what? You guys sound excited. You know, like Bick has got that spring of a step. And his voice do too sad. I love it. To be fair, I was off for three weeks. I'm just thrilled to be back on here. One thing I was going to say though was, you know, I'm really enjoying this team. When you look at this being down 3-1, I thought it was over. 4-3, overtime win, you know, was great. One comment I wanted to make was just really about this team overall. And when I think about the Canucks, you look at character is obvious. The leaders are stepping up, except for Patterson. But we know, but that's fine. And how this team is, you know, the constructed, you know, that's one thing I really wanted to bring up. I was listening to the least post game show last night after they lost to Boston and Scotiabank Arena. So you got some of your old bodies like Justin Borne and, you know, Jamie Bunkas and Sam, the key talking. But, you know, that team was booed off the ice. When the biggest commentary I heard from those guys, the three of the three hosts was really around the salary cap all around the core four. That's what they called Tavares and the Lander and, you know, Matthews, obviously, you know, and, you know, more than anything as well to this lack of character, the star is not stepping up. This total frustration and a large chunk of the salary cap on those four guys. So you don't have enough money to spread around the roster. And I look at this team. I've heard the Ian Cole interview earlier. I'm looking at a guy like Sadora. I'm looking at players like Sousie. I mean, there is more of an equal distribution across the salary cap, which has come up a lot in the past season. And it's exciting, guys. Just watching this team, it's really nice watching stars, like cues, Miller, Besser stepping up when they're needed and actually earning their paychecks. Guys, back to you. - Thanks for the phone call. Great stuff. - Great call from Jose and Lions Bay. I mean, a lot of it does go back to what management has done and putting pieces together and having players in. And, you know, and it makes a great shout on Cole and Sadora, all of the coach spoke about those guys, two posts, Game of Saying. These guys have been here before. They understand what it takes in the post season. And they were really stepping their game up. - Yeah, Ian Cole. Like, he just never puts a stick wrong so far. And, you know, like the one goal gains, he steps up in a four on two. I have no problem with him stepping up to try to create that in a tight situation. And, you know, Nyquist, the puck just goes back the other way. And Nyquist makes a great shot. O'Reilly makes a heck of a pass, which is the same thing that kind of hurt them later on on the Lindholm goal. How quick they are to try to get up ice, even in spots where it's contested and possession hasn't been gained yet. But like Ian Cole, on the time goal, or on the game winning goal, massive key. - Yeah, massive. - Backhand. And like, just peek to the corner, sees Brock Besser there, just throws into the corner. The pass doesn't come off, but finds a lane to get it down low. wins another board battle to push it down low. And he's, for me, I think been the Canucks best demon. I know the Zadorov had higher highs. And maybe in moments, it just looks more influential because he skates so easily and carries the puck out. But Ian Cole, for me, I think been the Canucks best demon through four games. - Yeah, I mean, I think Zadorov's been very impactful as well. Right, he had a tremendous game. Three, Cole Ian Cole just absolutely stout defensively, two of the shot blocks we saw the other night. We're absolutely huge, helping this team win. All right, we'll get to more of your reaction as the show goes on. But let's hear from some Canucks players here postgame after a thrilling four, three victory. And one player who we haven't spoken about enough yet is the guy who got the game winning goal at Lai's Lindholm. And here he is going one-on-one with Dan Murphy postgame. - Canucks, a shock to predators winning an overtime. Lai's Lindholm, your first career overtime playoff goal, perhaps just tell us how it happened in your view. - Yeah, I mean, obviously, I got in through the zone and Gar got a bind on that and find me wide open this lot. So, I mean, it was a nice pass. So it was just to kind of put it in. So it's, yeah. - How exciting? - Yeah, I mean, obviously when it's quite one of those, it's old day winner, it's always a good feeling. - Second surprise, goalie start in the series for your team. We're gonna give you a shot here of She-Loves after the overtime winner, but just the job he did in tough circumstances. - Yeah, I mean, obviously coming in here, tough building to play in and, you know, he made some big saves for us. Obviously, we didn't play our best game. Stuck with it and obviously when we needed a big stop from him, he was there, so it was huge. - Very tough to generate offense in the third period, but Brock Baster was able to do it in a monster game from him. - Yeah, I mean, obviously three goals, a lot of big goals for us and obviously when we were down two and pull the goal, it's, you know, he's there and he knows how to score goals, so it's important for us. - How excited are you to head back to Vancouver and over the chance to wrap up the series? - Yeah, I mean, we're just excited to get home. Obviously been here for a couple of days and, you know, did our job. It wasn't pretty, but I got the two wins and we're excited to get a player in front of the fans again. - Congratulations. - Thank you. - That is a lies Lindholm, coming up big for the Canucks of winning in overtime, getting the game winner for the team. And, you know, he's one of those guys that obviously, there was a lot of scrutiny around him and the Canucks acquired him for a first round pick. Andre Kuzmenko, Hunter Bustabic, amongst other parts that were involved in that trade to acquire him at the trade deadline. And then he comes over and he struggles, right? And the regular season has 12 points in 26 games. He gets injured, comes back, comes back, laid, but one thing we noticed in his game when he came back from his injury, he played with Lindholm, he played with Garland and Joshua as well after his first game back, but he started looking a lot better, a lot more effective. And as the season's gone on and into the postseason, he's kind of played some of his best hockey. And the fact that he scored a goal here tonight now has two goals and three points in four games. Hey, one goal and one game doesn't mean the trade was all worth it, but this is a pretty big return on the trade already, getting this victory scoring in overtime and just how he's played in the postseason. Like he has been really solid so far in these four games. - Yeah, three points through four games. And, you know, one thing that we talked about, it's like you win the series, suddenly that disappointment label gets removed on what the season is. And part of the demand of wanting to win a series was thrust upon the team and expectations from fans because they went to go make this huge trade. You spend the first round pick fair for people to expect more. You win around, suddenly it's a lot of people say, all right, like trending in the right direction. And he's playing a role, two goals through this and a massive one today in the right spot and Garland says it perfectly. And there's that line, right? They show up in a key moment. - Yeah, showed up in a massive way for this Canucks team. And the guy that stepped up in a big spot as well is Arthur Shilovs. The third string goaltender got to start tonight and he helped the Canucks win. And we're gonna get to his thoughts coming up here in a second. But, Bick, I mean, we're seeing a lot of reaction on the text in the box and how fans feel. You spoke eloquently about, you know, what this means for the organization and what Ian Clark has done. But it's one of these spots where he came in, he played very solid. And now he have another guy you feel comfortable with between the pipes. Three deep down the pipes. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. And speaking about buying time for some guys, right? Well, this buys time for Thatcher Demko. Buys time for Casey to Smith. And now you've got options. If Thatcher Demko's healthy, it's gonna be Demko's net, right? Like, I know people joke with a three gold controversy. Doesn't matter. If Demko can go, it's gonna be Demko. - Of course. - But now it's like, you're gonna feel great about whoever's in net and it's a credit to the whole goalie department. - You buy a little time at the very least that they continue playing this way. All right, let's continue with some more audio post game. Let's hear from Arthur Shilovs, who backstopped the Canucks tonight to a 4-3 overtime victory. - One or two goals in late in the third and managed to pull it out. And it's like great feeling, like, winning back here two games and coming back home. - JT talked about how calm you looked. What's allowed you to be that way? - I think, like, you know, I played in Latvia for my hometown and, like, was the same atmosphere, I would say. And it just feels great, you know? Either they boo you or they for you. It's always great to play. - When did you find out you were going in? - Yes, I really. - And what was your reaction? - It was a great time to shine, you know? - I asked Casey the other day about having Thatcher around on this trip, but what it meant to him, how much do you lean on those guys when you find out you're going in? - I mean, you know, they're, like, a more experienced. - Yes. - You know, you look at those guys who, like, learn something and then you try to add maybe to your game, to your mindset, and then you have, that's how you develop. - Just your feeling when the winning goal went in, in overtime? - It was fantastic, you know, like, tied the game. Didn't have any shots, you know, over time, we managed to score in the first shot, amazing. - What about during the intermission between the third period overtime? What was going through your mind during that time? - For me, it was just stopping the puck, giving chance to my team and, you know, waiting for our guys to score. - Did you have the ice bag back on your head again? - I did. - Yeah. - So, the world championship, I'll be talking about tenors that could survive that. Home nervous, where are you? - Right now? - No, not now. - Not in the worst period. - I wasn't too nervous. I was like, I was fine, actually. I was just, like, doing my things, relying on the things I worked on, and that's it. - You first got all the attention to... - Actually, I don't remember. - It's like, I love the blackout, but... (laughing) - What did you find out today? Did you find out today you were starting this morning? - Ah, yesterday. - Is it good to have that night to sleep on it? Is it kind of in preparation, however your routine is? - I'm sure it is, like, you just get ready, you do, like, probably sleep more, relax more, and then, you understand, okay, I have to be mentally ready for tomorrow. - What was the atmosphere like when you come out? 'Cause, you know, you're having your mind what play on hockey is gonna be like, but then you're thrust into it. Was it more than what you expected? - That was exactly what you expected? - That was, like, exactly what I expected, you know? They're gonna go hard, it was, like, home crowd, and they're gonna try to do everything to win here, so we managed to bounce and, like, score the goals, and that's it. - Arti, did you see the Forsberg goal? I know you were sort of pulled over to the side there, but did you get a look at whether he kicked it or not? - I didn't see it, it was just, like, I don't know how it's like, he passed it, or... Yeah, he passed it, yeah, I didn't see it, so... Did you hear what you wanted over time as well? - All right, that's great for them. - That is Arter Shilov's after a four, three overtime victory for the Vancouver Canucks against the Preds, and, you know, very cool, calm and collected, you know? Didn't sound like the moment was too big for him, something the head coach mentioned. He was very impressed by especially that game against Vegas, where they go down, let's in a bad goal, but then the moment wasn't too big for him, he mentioned post-game and how they came back to win that game, and tonight, that's a guy who did not sweat this at all. He said, "Yeah, maybe a little bit nervous, but not too bad," and he didn't look like he had any nerves in the game tonight. - No, you know, what are you thinking about going into OT? It's just stopping the next puck, just chill. - Did you have the ice bag on your head again? - Throw an ice bag on the head, great picture that the cameras caught on sports net. - Fantastic, absolutely terrific. All right, we have to hit the break, we'll get back on the other side, we'll get to some more of your reaction, and we're gonna hear from Ian McIntyre, as the Canucks Central post-game show continues, presented by the number five orange, on the home of your Canucks, Sports net 650. - Canucks talk with Jamie Dodd and Thomas Drans will dive deep into all that's happening with the Vancouver Canucks. Listen 12 to 2 p.m. on Sports net 650, or wherever you get your podcasts. - This is the Canucks Central post-game show. - Join the discussion on the official home of the Canucks, Sports net 650, and the Sports net Radio Network. - Miller into the Nashville zone, driving across the slot, passes right towards to Besser, throws it to the goal from a tough angle. Souter was in front, but couldn't tip it on target, and O'Reilly gets it for the predators. Now to Nyquist, let's hit left wing, here's a chance for Carrier, in a look at the forehand, he's stopped by She-Loves. Look at our goaltender with a great save, as he showed tremendous patience to outweight Carrier, who made a move to the forehand, and She-Loves holds it out to keep the game tied to one. - Arthur She-Loves, big between the pipes. Canucks win 4-3 in overtime. Come back, victory over the Preds. And this is the Canucks Central post-game show in the home of your Canucks, Sports net 650, presented by the number five, Orange Satyar Shah, with Biknazar. Keep your thoughts coming in to our dumb bar lumber text inbox, 650-650. We'll hit some as the show goes on here. We have IMAC coming up as well, and we are gonna get to the foam board, 604-280-0650, and fans are hyped, man. James and Qualkin Beach says, "Wow, loving She-Loves confidence. "How fortunate are we to have these three goalies?" And this one here says, "Three wins, three different goalies. "Is that a playoff record? "Go Canucks goal. "It ties a playoff record." Or no, the Canucks, well, four goalies is the most goalies. - The last thing to do it was Vancouver in 2004. - Yes, to have three goalies play. - Six wins with three different goalies is pretty impressive, I will say. - Yes, 650-650. Should we call Queen Hughes Timex? 'Cause he takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. That's a BMAC in Abbittsford. But if you saw 32 thoughts last week, Elliot Freedman doing a thought on Vancouver. People in the organization referred to Queen Hughes as the Jewel Thief. - Yeah, it's a really good one. - Because he stays calm under pressure and focuses on the goal, even when the chaos is happening around him. - You saw it, you know-- - That's a strong nickname. - That's a really good nickname. You saw it too. I mean, the play he makes on Nyquist along the board to keep the play alive on the three-three goal, the three-two goal, the play he makes in his own zone to evade four checkers to get him out of their own zone, get them into the offensive zone. Just absolutely tremendous. And you know, on the final goal too, and the goal tied the game, the Brock Besser three-three goal, his hat-trick goal tonight. It's a door-up net front, two on that play, right? Like, hey, it's six on five. You're doing everything you can. But like, he has a certain gravity to him. 'Cause on that play, you see a couple of preds players being very aware of his presence. - So, also, odd too, that they put out two D-Man for both of those. - Some five forwards and Queen Hughes. - No. - It was heroic out there for the first, the second Besser goal. And then Zadorov playing net front on the game tying goal. - Putting a big body in front of the net. - Huge body. And yeah, I think it's the way he said gravity, a certain orbit to him. And it caused a little bit of chaos. And then Yosi on the backside too. It just like rushes out and just, it creates all this space down low. And as a texture earlier mentioned, on that rebound chance is Brock's trying to fight for it. A couple of preds are trying to get across sorrows, or at least get into the crease. And Zadorov just turns his back and it's, it's a Zadorov eclipse there as they can't get around him. - No, and yeah, you're right. And it made a huge difference and helped the Canucks win in a big way. Brandon Impoco says, should the Canucks sign Frank Caprice as an emergency backup for game five? So, I mean, hey, who knows? Zach Chachengo got the victory here. I'm not sure they'll call him up to be the emergency e-bug goalie, but we'll see what the Canucks do roster-wise tomorrow. And it depends on the smith status. If the smith is okay and they feel like he's going to be fine, then maybe nothing is in the offing from that regard. All right, let's go to the foam board 604-280-0650. And let's hit East Van, where we have Jay on the line. Jay, thanks for calling in. Now, what are your thoughts here tonight? - Hey Zach, what's going on fellas? It's Big Jay, by the way. - Love it. - No problem about that. Here we go, big win tonight. You know, I got to say going forward, we got to get more shots on net. It's not sustainable playing like this. We did get a little lucky here. I wonder if Petey's wrist is bothering him or what's going on there. He's got to figure it out, going forward. But let's just enjoy the win. And Zadarov, man, that guy's just playoff made. That's the guy we need. When it's time to pay the boys here, I'd think about paying him over Ronik, to be honest. I don't know what you guys think. And viewing parties, come on, Ken Sim. Like, we have the World Cup here in three years. Let's figure that out here, boys. Thanks a lot, guys. - Hey, you got a big Jay, thanks for the phone call. - You know what, that last point is really well done. - It is really well done, yeah. - Hey, man, World Cup's going to be here. - Yeah, you're going to talk about, we can't have you in the party? - Yeah, that's a great shout out there by Jay at the end. - You know what, I'm not going to spend too much time. The next one's not talking about that stuff. You know, forget it, forget it. But I understand the point he made to, the kind of can be better and should be better, right? And then, hopefully, they do pull that through coming up. Game five, a chance to win the series against the Preds on Tuesday. All right, let's go to another phone call. Let's go to Suri, where Cachal is on the line. Thanks for calling in. What are your thoughts here tonight? Cachal. All right, we'll put him back on. We'll see if we can get him back on again. Let's try one more. Let's go to Burnaby, where we have Sadeep on the line. Sadeep, thanks for calling in. What do you have for us tonight? - Hey, Sat, hey, Bick. My apologies, I was just on Scott Road in 70 seconds. He was bumping, I lost my voice. - How are the vibes, how are the vibes? - It's awesome. I was just gonna say, the mood in the city, when the Canucks are winning. Like, it hasn't been like this in years, and it's just so awesome, and I'm so happy to be a Canucks fan right now. I miss the first part of the show, so you guys must have met a touch on this. So I think the Canucks, if they really wanna do some damage this year, PD's gotta get going. And you guys did that little hit with Elias Lindholm a little earlier. What do you guys think about potentially moving Pedersen to the wing, and putting Lindholm down the center, just to kind of take some of the responsibility off of Pedersen's shoulders, 'cause he does seem like he's, there's something going on in his head. Maybe it's mental, just take the responsibility off, and hopefully plays a little bit better. So yeah, I'll hang up, and I'll listen to you guys. - Hey, thanks for the, hey, fantastic stuff. That's the deep calling of Bernie B. I'm glad you had a fun celebrating as well. - Yeah. - Enjoy the moment. - The tweets and the videos from Scott Road Cell, he's looked fantastic. As far as Pedersen, and reshaping the lineup, the problem is, the middle of the line is playing so well, and Lindholm with Joshua Garland is looks so good. - Yeah, but could you get the same from a blue group playing with those guys? I mean-- - Fair point. - Something you can consider, right? - Fair point. - You can consider it. Now that the Connects are number three one, I'm not sure they do it now, but-- - The fact that they're three one, I don't know if you make any changes move forward. Now, if they start game five, and it looks similar to the last two games, all right, maybe you can switch something up, but the fact that those two lines, like technically the design of it is working, and in moments, your biggest players have kind of risen up higher than the pred's biggest players. - Yeah, no, you're right about that. You're right about that. All right, let's go to Nashville, where we're joined by the man himself, the man we call the triple threat. You watch him on TV, you read him on digital, you're about to hear him on radio. He is Ian McIntyre. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) - Well, I don't know how to describe what I just saw. Other than since it's in Nashville, Yee-haw. (laughing) - That does get interesting. - I was going to try and do like an actual full-throated Yee-haw, but I knew I wouldn't be able to pull it off, so. - I just gave a muted one. - A muted one. - From the West, an old guy from the West Coast, Yee-haw. That was unbelievable. I don't know. I mean, other than we've talked about it, and certainly I wrote about before this series, that one of the biggest things that have going for them is the higher floor, the stronger foundation, that even if they don't play well, because of how talk it has trained and conditioned them and the way that they play, and of course the goaltending they usually get, they stay in games. But tonight it was almost the theater of the absurd, because I really don't think the Canucks could have played much worse than they did for about 55 minutes or maybe 57 minutes. I mean, the first period wasn't bad, but there was no push in the third period when they were down by two goals until they got the goalie out. And their second period was spent, it seemed entirely in their end. And yet, you know, they are up three-one in the series. They've had, and I only quickly added it up before I came on radio. I think they've got 71 shots in the series. That's not in two games, that's in four games, 71 shots. - Yeah. - You know, the Quinn Hughes I think is still one of the best players in the world, but he's just getting battered and he was a little subdued tonight. We know that Patterson hasn't yet even showed himself in this series. Even tonight, the third line, which is, you know, the first line with Miller, the third line with Lindholm, which I guess we should just call the second line. I don't know why we still call it a third line. You know, they've been driving what little offense this team has had. They've been driving it for weeks, and both of them were bad tonight as well. You know, the Lindholm Garland and Joshua didn't do anything until they generated the winning goal in overtime. I know Lindholm, you know, was in on the six-on-five goals, nice play to Besser, but as a line, the third line, which has been so reliable and always has a strong motor because of the players on it, 'cause Joshua's always going. Garland's always moving his feet. You know, even tonight, they weren't good, and yet, here we are. Here we are. Maybe these connects are different. - You counter correctly, 71 shots on goal. Sportsnet stats tweeting out that 71 through four games. The fewest in NHL history through the four games of an opening round. They're in a playoff series, so they're making it work, and I guess what's refreshing, too, about this being the playoffs, Ian, is like, even when you're struggling, you get a win, you kind of just get to delete it and just say, like, all right, now, like, what's the next test at hand? And the fact that they're up 3-1, despite not playing their best through 55 minutes, gotta be a huge relief for them as well. - Yeah, I think relief is the key word, and the thing is, well, we know that the Canucks, they weren't just lucky to get through the regular season. They're lucky to be up 3-1, clearly, but they are a very good team. They earned their 50 wins. It wasn't smoke and mirrors, and no matter what, the analytics guys were saying in November and December, it wasn't entirely just because of shooting percentage and PDO. This is a very good team, and we know they're good defensively. And the first half of the year, they were outstanding offensively as well. So we know they have a much higher level in them, and especially in a playoff series, when you win games, where both teams know that the other team was better, it is a huge psychological blow to the team that doesn't win, because the team that does win, eventually they're gonna play better. Like, if the predators couldn't beat the Canucks tonight, why would they think they can beat them on Tuesday if Vancouver actually plays to its capabilities? But that's the thing, they've got to play better, and I was happy, so relieved, personally, to hear everybody who spoke after the game, and not many did. I think we heard from four players after the game, plus Rick Pocket, in total. Everybody, well, not even everybody, 'cause Sillov's wasn't talking about the team, but the other three players plus talk it, all agreed that this isn't good enough, and that the team has to be better. So I love that accountability. I love that self-awareness, but they do have to start playing better. I said, when Thatcher Damtha went down in game one, which we didn't play out until the eve of game two, that this team could beat the Nashville Predators with Casey to Smith, that they could win this series without Thatcher Damtha. I didn't know that they'd be able to win the series with Archer Sillov's in it. I think there's probably a pretty good chance that he's going to be the goalie in game five, because if, in fact, as Talking said, that to Smith has an injury, and we know it's a minor one, because Smith would have been the third goalie tonight if the other guys had been hurt. We also know from Talkett that to Smith wanted to play tonight, but if he's got any kind of injury, why would you take the chance on making it worse on Wednesday when you're up 3-1 in the series with a chance to close it out with a guy in Archer Sillov's who has all the confidence in the world personally and has all the trust in the organization that he can perform and make enough saves for you to win. It's all quite remarkable. You know, this is why sports is so fabulous. And this is, I'm sort of harp on one of my old themes, but it is so far to weigh the best reality, the best television that there is, because you couldn't make up, even if you were riding it as a, you know, a drama, you couldn't make up the plot twists that we see. And we see it all the time with everything, but I mean, in this series alone, the number of plot twists and surprises that have occurred, and yet the Canucks have just kind of plowed through all of them in three out of four games. It's amazing. - It really is. It is incredible and they have a chance now on Tuesday to close this series out and move on to the second round. But before we get to any of that sort of talk, Brock Besser tonight scored a hat trick and a timely piece by you. You got a piece on Brock Besser. - The iMac bump, iMac bump, you got it. And you got a hat trick tonight. And you know, I mean, hey, he scores the first goal, gets two of them late. And it really fit into what the coach was saying yesterday. You were a national, you heard his thoughts, talk about Besser being net front and how he's really evolved this game. And we saw that on full display tonight. - Yeah, well, what I appreciated in that story and thanks for the tell. I didn't have the same effect when I wrote about Patterson. - That's the late. It's coming. - Two points on the road. I don't know what you're talking about. One for a game on the road. - Well, you know what? I did think that before I get back to Brock, I did think Ilias was a little better in game three, but he wasn't good again tonight. But as far as Brock, what I really liked about what Brock told me is how you don't want to be a guy who has a really good regular season and then not be around in the playoffs. To be basically, and he didn't say this, you don't want to be the Toronto Maple Leafs or those Maple Leafs stars where you put up all these numbers and then all you do is lose in the playoffs. I think this is really important to Brock to show that he can be a playoff type of player. And I think in a broader sense, it's important to this group of players after the 50 win season that not many people expected. I think they've still got a bit of a chip on their shoulder that hey, we want to show that we're really this team and that we can have success in the playoffs as well. And they haven't played well, but they have had that resiliency and I love to talk its t-shirt story after the game. I wish I'd known about that 'cause that would have been a great behind the scenes story although I did find out a few more details about it. But there's a lot of guys who understand the opportunity that's in front of them and even though they haven't had playoff experience, they're really trying to show. They really want to show that this is not these old Canucks. They're not the last 54 years Canucks and they don't think of it in those terms. Most of these guys haven't even lived half that long but they're very aware of the disappointment that there has been in the marketplace. They actually own their own disappointment 'cause a lot of the, especially the core players are responsible for a lot of that disappointment especially the last three years since the last bubble playoffs and they're really determined to be different. They're determined to be better and I think they're gonna be determined on Tuesday to give fans in Vancouver something to really celebrate in the playoffs for the first time since 2011 and that would be closing out. A series on home ice to advance. - What to say about Archer Seelovs, what a position to be put in and I thought he looked fairly calm and spectacular. - Yeah, man, a few words I did speak with him at some length late in the season after he got that. Well, he'd been called up obviously with Denko's injury but didn't get into games until very late and he told me about the World Championship experience that if you can remain calm through that and I don't think we're fully understand what that meant to Latvia to finally win its first medal. Of course, they won bronze last year with Seelovs in net and they co-hosted the tournament and the game that they upset Sweden to go to the bronze medal game was in or sorry, to go to the final four which guaranteed them a chance to play for a medal was in Riga. So like this picture, I don't know, 2010 Olympics in Canada and the pressure on the Canadian team in Vancouver in the gold medal game, there would be something similar to that, not quite but similar to that for Latvia and Seelovs completely withstood all of that. It was not only the best goalie in the tournament, he was the most valuable player in the tournament and he told me having been through that experience, nothing over here feels like it's too big and I'm paraphrasing right now for you but like nothing here really rattles. I remember last year as well, like as far as Seelovs mindset and how calm this guy is. Last year before the World Championships, in the season when he got a call up to the Canucks. I remember Ryan Johnson, the Abbots for GM, of course now assistant GM to all being with the Canucks saying when he phoned Seelovs to tell him and that's a call that Ryan Johnson has had the joy of making many times. He absolutely loves the guys that he helps get from the HL to the NHL. And he said, often guys start yelling or they become emotional or there's disbelief. He said Seelovs was like, oh, okay, okay, great. And it was like he just had ice water in his veins and all he's done in his limited opportunities with the Canucks is wind games and play well. I don't know that he's been spectacular but he certainly has been capable. And again, with this team, capable is good enough on a lot of nights with the way the Canucks play and what they surrender to the opposition. You know, the discussion about the series and how they've been outplayed there really hasn't been much wrong with how Vancouver has defended. They've kind of stayed to form that we saw since the all-star break the last three months of the year where they may give up some shots and tonight they got caught on some outnumbered rushes early on but they don't give up many second chances. They don't give up a lot of prime chances from the, between the hash marks. So, you know, if you get good goal-tending behind that or capable goal-tending behind that, the other team's not going to score all that much. The concern for Vancouver and where they've really beaten the odds for where they should be in the series is just how little they've been able to generate offensively and yet they've won three out of the four games. - Yeah, and before we let you go, Ian, and we can't wait to see you in person on Tuesday as well but what do you make of how the Canucks are now trending heading into game five? I mean, the Preds may feel like they gave their best already in this series and, you know, pretty back-breaking being down 3-1 and the crowd's going to be nuts on Tuesday and safe to say the first 10 minutes connecting to really bring it, don't they? - Yeah, I think they need to bring it for 60 but if we don't see a lot more will and desperation to their game offensively to talk it and others talked about, you know, winning puck bow stuff, I think you have to see that from the start in game five and if it's not there in the first 10 minutes then that's a real concern. It's going to be a disappointment in it but it will be a concern as well because everybody recognizes, right? This isn't, it's been four games now. Everybody knows where they are. Everyone's saying that they need to be better. Well, here's their chance now in game five on home ice so they need more of that desperation but, you know, there is going to be a bit of, you know, a mental bugaboo for, I've never used that term before, I may never use it again. - That was tremendous, you know, please use it. - A mental bugaboo for the predators because really they could easily be up 3-1 in this series and they'll be saying, well, what do we have to do to actually beat this team 'cause we're out playing them, we're slightly out-chancing them and yet we're still losing and that's not, that's not an easy thing just to push out of your mind. Especially when you know that at some point, Vancouver is going to play a lot better and I know that everyone is hoping that it's going to be on Tuesday. - Yeah, we certainly hope so Ian. Great stuff with your coverage from Nashville. We'll look forward to seeing you in person and man, hopefully more fun games to write and talk about. - I hope so. I hope so. I'm not, you know, covered the team a long time. Like most people who've grown up in Vancouver and kind of conditioned to things turning out a certain way for the Canucks but maybe this team is different. They certainly live up to their t-shirt slogan of being resilient. - Yeah, certainly and you're getting love in the text and unbox Shaquille in New West. I'm acting a nice bow on an amazing day and Michael in the cheap seats. Ian McIntyre is such an asset to the broadcast. The guy is a phenom hats off to him. So great stuff as always Ian. - Well, thank you and thank you to them. Thanks everyone for listening. - Yes, fantastic. Great stuff. That is Ian McIntyre. Make sure to read his latest on sportsnet.ca. Now, we are going to get out of here in just a moment. We have a lot of phone calls. We've had people come in. We have people waiting patiently in hopes of getting on after IMAX. We'll stay a few more minutes. Take some more of your reaction before we get out. And let's go to George on the phone boards. George, thanks for calling in and hanging on. What are your thoughts here tonight? - Oh geez, having me follow Ian's like, I'm a guitarist following Jimmy Hendrix lead in, but I'll do my best. There was a couple of points I'll make that he didn't mention, but again, what a phenomenal he is. First of all, we've got pot plot going this year. That post is the story of the game as far as I'm, I'm concerned, Besser was great. Miller was fantastic when he was fought through whatever he's going through. Back on goalie, second backup, but that post, that post made up almost for Nathan Lafayette in 1984. Anyway, the post is a story. The second thing I'll make a couple of comments on what Tockett said he was gonna do that. I'm not sure I saw tonight, which is a danger zone for Tuesday. Way too many passes up the middle or a cross-ice. I'll repeat it passes cross-ice over the defensive zone and it just caused me to shake my head and pray some of those times we got lucky today on that. The other thing is I did not see that the Canucks teeing it up like he said they were gonna do. It was not, I mean, Chromic has the most amazing slap shot. I'm still waiting for him to take repeatedly slap shots from the point or some of the other players with heavy lumber on the point and we have to do that. So Tuesday, cross her fingers, we get it done and rely on a little bit of puck luck for the next series, which third point. As far as I understand this really wonky playoff structure is gonna be either Edmonton or LA and not Colorado or Vegas. Is that the case? - Yes, that's the case. - Yes, that's the case. - Oh my God, okay, yeah, a bit better, isn't it? - Oh, that's fantastic. I'd love to see those two teams kill each other. - No question. Hey, George, thanks, appreciate the phone call. Thanks for your time. Great stuff, and that is George calling in. - And it's a good shout, just talking about the level of velocity they're putting on the shots and how infrequently they are. 'Cause yeah, you haven't seen it from Haroda Cora Patterson who can click a triple digits as well. - Yeah, absolutely, let's go to the phone boards, take one more phone call and let's go to Victor and Grimshaw Alberta, Victor, what's going on? What are your thoughts here tonight? - Hey, it might say Alberta, but I'm not an Edmonton fan, I just wanna let you know that. - Love it, love it. - It's pretty disgusting out here. Like I feel like I'm already chatting to me number one, seeing all the flags and all the jerseys. And then they come up to me, chirping me, I'm like, "Hey, we swept you all season long." And I say the only thing you guys are good at winning is a draft lottery. - I don't know, I don't know. - Yeah, I'm a big fan of the show. I've been a Cox fan for like 20 years in the West Coast Express. Obviously 2011 heartbreak. Obviously seeing Nashville tonight choking. So, you know, I'm a big fan. Yeah, I just recently had a baby with my wife. My wife turned to me and said, "You know, now that we have a baby, "do you think she's gonna be an oiler fan?" I'm like, "No frickin' way." No, that's not happening. Our baby's from Vancouver, always gonna be a Vancouver fan, always gonna bleed the blue, the green, and the white, always gonna happen. I just wanted to say like Patrick, Alvin, and Rutherford, they did an amazing job. Like they analyzed the team for basically a year, figured out where all our flaws were. And that trade with Horvat, I'm not saying Horvat was a cancer in the locker room, but the moment that trade happened, and we got Roanik, our team changed. Our whole dynamic, bringing in talk it, changing the culture. Everyone was showing that you need to show responsibility, you need to play a heavy game, you need to be responsible on all areas of the ice. I feel like that trade kind of like shifted the dynamic of the team. And I feel like they're playing like 3D chess, while betting is still playing checkers in the welfare lineup, you know? - Yeah, I hear you. - Straight up. - Hey, Victor, man. Congratulations on the birth of your child, and do your best thing. - With a Canucks fan. - As a Canucks fan, I love it. Hey man, appreciate your time, Victor, and we look forward to hopefully chatting with you again, call back anytime. - Thanks a lot, Keith. - You got it, that is Victor calling in. And, you know-- - Victors have good takes. - They do? - We have, I mean, his best take, was it Horvat to take, his best take? - Yeah, no, I'm just saying. I'll call him making Victor behind the glass, please. - No, no, Victor behind the glass is fantastic. We know that. - And Victor and Eddie, I'm just saying, it wasn't me celebrating the horrible Horvat take. But no, I think, you know, obviously shouts to Patrick Alvin and Jim Rutherford and what they've done, and how they've brought this team together. And now the job isn't done. You're up 3-1, you still have to win one more game. And listen, we've seen plenty of 3-1 series teams come back. Like, 3-1 does not mean a series is over, by any means, but obviously the Canucks have done it. - Yeah, of course, I mean, they're in a great spot. Take advantage of it. I mean, like Ian mentioned, you had a chance where you weren't very good tonight, right? But you found a way to win the game. You are gonna be better, hopefully, at some point. If you play better, you bring it next game, then it's gonna be really difficult for a team that's gonna be rattled after they bottled this game. Like, it's gut wrenching and everything. But like, they had a two goal lead. - Yeah. - And they lost a two goal lead, then lost an overtime in the final minute of the game. - I just saw this, perMoney puck.com. Prior to the tying goal going in, the Canucks had a 0.4 chance to win. - 0.4, so you think between like the puck hitting the post and this, it was very unkinducky result. - Yeah, it was, I mean, National Hotspur. That's what we gotta call it. (laughing) All right, that brings us to the end of the show here. Thanks to everybody for participating, calling in, listening, it's always a pleasure. We're gonna pass you off to Stanley Cup playoff coverage. That is coming up next. We have the Edmonton Oilers and LA Kings, game five with the Oilers holding on. Game four, holding on to a two-one series lead. It's a big one there between the Kings and the Oilers. We're gonna pass you off to that coverage. We're gonna be back tomorrow. You're back on the People's Show. What's happening on the People's Show? - Three to four. I'll also be joining Canucks Talk as well at 12.30 with Jamie Dodd. - Nice, a lot coming up tomorrow. I'll be on Canucks Central with Dan Riccio. That is coming up tomorrow from four to six as well. Special shout out to Eddie and Victor doing a great job behind the boards and producing his show tonight. - And a big shout out to everyone that went to the Hollywood theater with Halford and Brof and A-dog and Balak there. So big shout out to a few of you who were there too, apparently like 600, 700 people showed up. So big shout out to everyone there. - Halford and Brof have a lot of pull. We saw that tonight. Great stuff. Appreciate everybody. - Yeah, they made a hot damn candidate. - They did. They're all over the place, man. All right, great stuff as always. We can't wait to be back on the post-game show on Tuesday, hopefully after another Canucks victory, this one being game five against the national predators. You've been listening to the Canucks Central post-game show presented by number five orange on the home of your Canucks, SportsNet 650.
