AP News, I'm Ed Donoghue, the deadline set by the school has passed at Columbia University in New York to get pro-Palestinian demonstrators to clear out. Mahmoud Khalil is staying put. "The notices are yet another intimidation tactic from the university. These tactics are remissants of those employed by the Israeli occupation against our people in Gaza and Palestine." The students are calling for universities to separate themselves from companies that are advancing Israel's military efforts in Gaza and in some cases from Israel itself. White House Press Secretary Corinne Jumpier says there is no room for anti-Semitism on campus. "The president has always been clear that while Americans have the right to peacefully protest, that's something that we believe here in this administration, he stands squarely, squarely against any rhetoric, violent rhetoric, any hate threats." The number of arrests nationwide at these demonstrations has approached 1,000. Prosecutors say they will not retry an Arizona rancher charged with a fatal shooting near the Mexico border after a deadlock jury. Several officers on a task force trying to serve a warrant in a suburban Charlotte, North Carolina neighborhood had been shot. Nearly two hours after the shooting started police there say the scene is still unsafe. A federal appeals court ruled West Virginias and North Carolina's refusal to cover certain health care for transgender people with government-sponsored insurance is discriminatory, a challenge is likely before the Supreme Court. The winner of the $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot has come forward. He is Chang Saifan and he lives in Oregon. He also has cancer. "I have a good life, but to myself, I'm a middle of the bad old in cancer. So I don't think it's the power I'm going to have to count to spend all of this money." He bought the ticket in Portland. The Dow finished up 146 points. This is AP News. A political shake-up in Scotland. Scotland's first minister, Hamza Youssef, has resigned rather than face a no-confidence vote. Just days after he torpedoed a deal with the Green Party by ditching a target for fighting climate change. Youssef, whose Scottish national party has been weakened by a scandal and divisions over transgender rights, stepped down after failing to strike a deal with a breakaway nationalist party whose single seat could have given him a majority. With no prospect of victory, Youssef quit rather than face defeat later this week. I'm Charles Villatazma. The Kansas City Chief signed Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelsey, to a two-year contract extension that the general manager says would make him the league's highest paid tight end. Meantime, Travis' brother Jason Kelsey will join ESPN's Monday night countdown after retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm Ed Donahue, AP News.
