This is AP News. I'm Rita Falle. Flash bangs scuffling? People detained this morning on the campus of UCLA as police move in on pro-Palestinian demonstrators. Officers taking away barricades and beginning to dismantle an encampment, the AP's Jennifer King. The AP has tallied over 1,600 arrests at at least 30 college campuses as police crack down on encampments of mostly pro-Palestinian demonstrators. From the river to the sea. Organizers of the protests say it's a peaceful movement aimed at defending Palestinian rights and protesting the war. At UCLA, Chancellor Gene Block said that a group of instigators had perpetrated fighting that broke out. At University of Wisconsin, in Madison, a scrum broke out early Wednesday. Four officers were injured. At Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, an encampment was dismantled and there were clashes as protesters were arrested for violating a ban on tents on the campus lawn. I'm Jennifer King. Donald Trump is returning to court this morning, the AP's Julie Walker. Donald Trump could face additional sanctions in his hush money trial as he returns to court in New York. Prosecutors are seeking $1,000 each before comments by Trump that they say violated a gag order barring him from attacking witnesses, jurors and others. That's on top of a $9,000 fine. The judge imposed Tuesday related to other gag order violations and the threat of jail time if he does it again. Also today, testimony resumes from lawyer Keith Davidson, who represented Foreign Star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougall. Both said they had sexual encounters with Trump, which he denies. Julie Walker, New York. They've now recovered the body of a fifth person who was missing after the collapse of that bridge in Maryland more than a month ago. One person still has not been found. 48 people known dead now after a highway collapsed in China, heavy rain in the area recently. This is AP News. There's more now on the deaths of those 48 people in China. The AP's Karen Shamas has this. The death toll from a collapsed highway in southern China has jumped to at least four dozen people. Search is dug for a second day through a treacherous and mountainous area in Guangdong Province. The incident happened when one side of a fall-in highway gave way after a month of heavy rains in the area. State TV showed construction cranes lifting out the burnt-out and mutilated vehicles. Search work has been hampered by rain and land and gravel sliding down the slope. Over 22 inches of rain has fallen in the past four weeks in the county where the roadway collapsed.
