AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. At Donald Trump's Hush Money Trial, jurors heard how his 2016 campaign was seized with worry about scandal just days before a debate with Hillary Clinton. Michael Sissick has details. Donald Trump's former aide, communications director, and confidant, Hope Hicks testified about the frenetic hours and days before and after the release of the infamous Access Hollywood tape a few weeks before Election Day. On that tape, Trump could be heard bragging about grabbing women without their permission. Hicks said that it was "a little stunning" to her. She testified that Trump was very concerned about how the news about these alleged affairs, the Hush Money payments, the Access Hollywood tape, how all of that would affect his wife, and that he didn't want anything to happen with this campaign to be embarrassing to her or to their family. Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar of Texas and his wife have been indicted on conspiracy and bribery charges over their ties with the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. And three people have been arrested in Canada for the killing of a Sikh separatist. Pardip Singh Nijar was shot and killed by masked gunmen near Vancouver last year. The three arrested are all Indian nationals in their 20s. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sparked a diplomatic feud with India last year when he said there were credible allegations of Indian involvement in the killing. "Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty." Investigators are looking into possible ties with the government. India accused Nijar of links to terrorism, but angrily denied involvement in his killing. India removed 41 of 62 Canadian diplomats in the country. I'm Ed Donahue. "Employers pulled back on hiring in April but still added to decent 175,000 jobs. The unemployment rate edged higher but remains below 4 percent. While wage growth eased, hourly pay up 3.9 percent from a year earlier, stocks rallied and closed the week higher." This is AP News.
