AP News, I'm Ed Donoghue, testifying today at his hush money trial in New York, with former President Donald Trump's former aide, Hope Hicks. I was very interested in what took place today, but he wouldn't go into detail. I'm not allowed to comment on any of that, because you know I'm under a gag on it, which is very unprecedented. Hicks started crying on the witness stand under cross-examination when asked about her time in the Trump administration. The defense was going on the contention Trump attorney and fixer Michael Cohen was acting as a lone wolf when he paid $130,000 to buy Stormy Daniel's silence about her claims of a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006. A big rally closed out the week on Wall Street, helped by a jobs report from the Labor Department that showed a cooling off of job creation. A possible sign inflation is cooling off. PNC Financial's Gus Voche was asked what the Federal Reserve is thinking about interest rates. We're not there yet, but I think if the job market continues to perform like this, then we should see rate cuts later in 2024. Texas Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar has been indicted on conspiracy and bribery charges. The AP's Mike Hempen has the story. The charges are in connection with a federal probe into Cuellar and his wife's ties with the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. The Justice Department says the couple is in custody after surrendering to authorities. Cuellar has released a statement saying he and his wife are innocent of all the allegations. A federal indictment says the couple accepted nearly $600,000 from an Azerbaijan controlled energy company and bank in Mexico. In exchange, the indictment says Cuellar agreed to advance the interest of the country and the bank in the U.S. I'm Mike Hempen. Three people have been arrested in the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada that became the central of a diplomatic spat with India. This is AP News.
