This is AP News, I'm Rita Folle. There is a sign this morning that the Israelis may soon go into Rafa, the city in Gaza, the AP's Karen Shamas. The Israeli army has ordered Palestinians to evacuate parts of Rafa in southern Gaza ahead of an expected ground invasion there. The military ordered 100,000 people to move to a nearby area called Muasi. The evacuation order is a sign that a long-promised ground invasion of Rafa could be imminent and the United States, Israel's closest ally, has repeatedly urged Israel not to carry out the invasion. I'm Karen Shamas. There weren't many interruptions at commencement ceremonies at some universities over the weekend in the US, despite the national wave of protests over the Israel-Hamas War. At Ohio State University, though, somebody fell from the stands to their death on Sunday during the school's graduation ceremony. No word yet on how that happened. Now to Texas and those fierce storms. Days of heavy rain are taking their toll. The AP's done a water. Heavy rains pummeled the Houston area, leading to hundreds of rescues over the weekend. A five-year-old boy riding in a car that was swept away in fast waters was killed. Harris County resident Greg Moss says when the waters started rising, he moved his camper to higher ground and is staying at a friend's house. The problem is all the development further up north, you know, they paved the roads and build houses and shopping centers and all that and there's nowhere more for the dirt to absorb the water.
