This is AP News. I'm Rita Falle. Israel is reacting to President Biden's decision not to provide Israel with offensive weapons that it could use in the war in Gaza. Israel calling and disappointing, frustrating the AP's Jennifer King. Biden says he will not supply offensive weapons that Israel can use to launch an all-out assault on Rafa in the southern Gaza Strip. Out of concern for more than 1 million Palestinian civilians sheltering there. In a Wednesday interview with CNN, Biden says the US is still committed to Israel's defense and will supply Iron Dome rocket interceptors and other defensive arms. But he says that if Israel goes into Rafa, quote, "We're not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells used," unquote. This follows his decision to pause a shipment of heavy bombs to Israel last week, Jennifer King, Washington. Now to that fierce weather across much of this nation, forecasters warning the millions of Americans could see some dangerous storms today in the south. Eva Grey Howard in Columbia, Tennessee, watched nervously as a tornado went by last night. The tornadoes and massive hail storms have left two people dead in Tennessee and one in North Carolina. Back on the witness stand today in Donald Trump's hush-money trial, Mermaid Daniels. The AP's Julie Walker is in New York. The defense in Donald Trump's hush-money trial will continue its cross-examination of Stormy Daniels, who previously told jurors in sometimes graphic detail about a sexual encounter she says they had in 2006, which Trump denies. Jurors appeared riveted by her testimony. Daniels, going into salacious details, despite repeated objections by defense attorneys. It didn't work. The producer and engineer Steve Albini has died of a heart attack, according to an engineer at his electrical audio studio. Albini was 61. Steve Albini was a producer who preferred to be called an engineer. His album credit usually read "Recorded by Steve Albini" if he accepted credit at all. Albini worked on Nirvana's in utero album, as well as surfer Rosa by the Pixies and razor blade suitcase by Bush. Albini's work also included music from P.J. Harvey, helmet, the Jesus lizard and the breeders. Albini released his own music with the band's big black and shellac. He was an outspoken critic of the music industry and a successful poker player.
