This is AP News, I'm Rita Folle. This morning the Israeli military says it found several tunnels in the city of Rafa in the Gaza Strip and it says it eliminated militants during combat. People have been running from Rafa, the AP's Charles de Leresma. The United Nations says about 110,000 people have fled Rafa in southern Gaza and food and fuel supplies in the area are critically low and all crossings into southern Gaza remain closed. They're cutting off supplies and preventing medical evacuations and the movement of humanitarian staff. Some 1.3 million Palestinians over half Gaza's population had sought refuge there. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the US threat to withhold some weapons would not deter Israel from expanding its offensive in Gaza. A limited Israeli operation earlier this week captured the Gaza side of Rafa's border crossing with Egypt, throwing relief operations into crisis. I'm Charles de Leresma. Donald Trump's hush money trial resumes this morning after jurors heard the explicit account of Stormy Daniels alleged sexual encounter with the former president. The AP's Michael Sisak is in New York. The testimony according to Trump lawyer Todd Blanche amounted to a dog whistle for rape. But Gail's made clear in her testimony that her encounter that she says happened with Trump, that it was consensual. The prosecution said that the details that she offered were necessary to prove her contention that there was a sexual encounter and to show the motivation for Trump years later to what that story suppressed. A request to dismiss the federal gun case against Hunter Biden has been rejected by an appeals court in Philadelphia. A three-member panel of the court said it doesn't have jurisdiction to review the matter. In order shortly after that ruling came down, a federal judge in Delaware said the case would proceed to trial on June 3rd. Judge Mary Ellen Noreka was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump later denied another bid to dismiss the case that challenged the constitutionality of the central gun charge. The president's son is accused of lying in 2018 about his drug use on a form to buy a gun that he kept for about 11 days in Delaware. I'm Norman Hall.
