Tell It Avs It Is - Desynchronization - R2 - G3 - S4

The Avalanche fall short in Game 3 with a 4-1 loss to the Stars, and fall behind 2-1 in the series. It was a brutally frustrating and boring game to watch, and the stats may tell you the Avs deserved to win this game, but did they really? Lot of sloppy mistakes, missed opportunities, failed scoring chances, and overall out of sync play cost them big, and a really sloppy third period plus a bad powerplay took away any chance of a win. The Stars have the edge in the series now, and the Avalanche are going to have to adjust their game to turn it around and win this series, which they are capable of doing. On the hockey podcast network, here's your hosts, Griffin Youngs and Christian Boulay. [music] Hello everybody. Welcome back to another edition of the "Tell It Abs It Is" podcast. I'm Griffin Youngs, joined by Christian Boulay. As always, that was frustrating. That was a tough game to watch as an abs fan and just from hockey perspective. That was a boring, brutal, frustrating game. The abs lose four to one to the Dallas Stars in game three. As the Stars take a two to one series lead in the second round series, it's really two-one, but the two empty nettors at the end of the game make it look further out or reach than it is and boy, that was not fun to watch straight up at the end of the day. It wasn't fun and all the adjectives you used to describe that game, we were talking about it before we hit record. That favors the Dallas Stars and they executed well tonight. They played a very good road game and the abs were just out of sync. They couldn't get anything going. Which is weird because you would have thought game three, the abs would have a little bit more buzz. The building was jumping at ball arena and the Stars just kind of hung in there for the first five minutes, ten minutes of the game. They just kind of kept plugging away and the abs were just out of sync all game and they get a whole lot of nothing from pretty much everyone tonight. Yeah, where you look at the final result of the game, the abs have more shots, they have more expected goals and overall controlled most of the play. See, that's the point where it's like this analytic sucks because you watch that game and I test it. That's just not what I saw. It just doesn't line up with what happened in the game. Yeah, the abs have more shots and a lot more expected goals, but like how much of that was super dangerous. There was a couple, couple of chances. Jay Gottinger had a great night. I thought he was very good in this game. I thought he also got a lot of bounces to go his way where the puck just magically rolls away from the net. Or it stops a millimeter from going over the goal line. Right. And then rings two posts. Like sometimes you just get the luck of the draw in the game and he also stopped everything that he needed to in this game where I've seen a lot of people thrown out that the abs were lazy in this game and they didn't work hard enough. The top got ranting in socks and he needs to be traded and all the all the typical stuff you see. The absolute is bad in our sucks. He needs to be fired. He got outcoed ranting in socks. You have socks. I thought they worked hard in the game. I thought they wanted to win. I just didn't think it was hard enough in this game where the third period of this game wasn't enough. No, I think it's just one goal game would have thought the abs were the ones playing with the lead. In a one goal game, you're down and try not to go down in the series. They have one real chance where a MacArthur shot just rolls wide of the goal. One of the examples where autanger just gets one to roll his way. Other than that, the time on the clock and the score of the game just was not reflecting what I was seeing on the ice where we're down to five minutes in a game and they just simple passes simple breakout opportunities like. The one pass from McKinnon to McCar where they just completely throw it into each other skates and fall over and the stars get a rush the other way. That's the game right there. That simple one play. All you need to watch is that and that describes the entire thing. The abs were just out of sync. They get one superstar play from McKinnon and Ranton puts it into a wide open cage. That's their one goal of the game. And there just wasn't enough other than that to win in the playoffs against a good team like the Dallas stars. You just got to have a little more. I don't think it was lazy. I think that's a little disrespectful, but it just needs to be a little more. You need to go a little harder on the boards. A lot more net front presence. That's been my thing coming into this series. Park in front of the guy. Dallas has done a good job at making sure their net front is clear. And what a surprise they've had a pretty they've done a good job of controlling most of this series. And for the abs to come back and win this series now they have to win a game in Dallas. And they got to make some changes here. They've got to change how they're approaching the game because this has been a series that Dallas generally likes to play. It's just been ever since game one, probably the five minutes left in the third period. I thought the stars have just changed the game to play exactly the way they want to play. Because the abs for the second half of game one played the way they want to play and wouldn't show they scored three goals. And that's the way they need to play and they haven't been able to play that way. Credit goes to the stars, the stars like we said after the game two episodes, the stars are a good team. You're going to have to work for it. They aren't going to give you anything. And you just got to make some adjustments. It's obvious you can't carry the puck in anymore. Like you just can't. You can't carry the puck over the blue line. You're going to have to dump in chase. And just do all of those things to we sound like basic hockey bros watching the game, but it is at some point it is just make it simple dumping in chase and go retrieve a puck. Yeah, at some point it is a little simple. Some point you do just need to simplify the game a little bit. I think it might be like a genuine problem that for it might be the first time since Vegas in the playoffs that the abs are just very clearly, I don't want to say not the better team. At very least even with the team that they're going against because their last five playoff series, they've been the better team. Like there's really no question about that. You can make the argument about Tampa, but the abs were deeper and better than the lightning going into that series. Anyone saying otherwise was wrong. And against Seattle, they're better than that team. They just didn't perform very well in that series. I'd say they're a better team than Winnipeg. They skated around Winnipeg for the most part. Winnipeg couldn't do anything about them. And this is a series that you can't brute force where you can't just skate right through everyone and make these unbelievable plays. These are going to have to be games like this where you're just going to need someone to tip a puck in front of the net, get a greasy goal, and just have someone be a hero. Where the stars, they weren't fantastic offensively in the game defensively, they were. But offensively they kind of took what you gave them and they got timely goals. And they didn't allow timely goals the other end. And that's a very important swing game in this series where now the abs have to win game for. They have to. I mean, no offense but it's about it's a must win game on Monday night. And just all your points. Like I agree with all of them. It's just you got to figure out a way to get some greasy goals. And I don't know what it is like Val I think was still good, but he just seems a little off in this series like I know he had the goal in game one. But after game two and game three he's just kind of looked up just a little bit off just a little bit off. He gets bumped down to the second line in this game and like it moves up there. It wasn't really anything changed. I mean, I didn't think like him was great in this game. But you need big val and like you to be your greasy goal guys, you need him to be that way and they they just haven't been so far in the series. I mean, the goal about Val or the two goals about has in the series. Where are these right in front of the net? He's perfect. Look at the goals that have been scored in this series for the yabs. It involves some form of net front presence. And to your point about Val and Lecky. Their stats. They match what you saw today. They're both minus two with zero shots. You're not winning with that. When those guys are important glue guys on this team, you're not going to win with that stuff. And your top line guys. That's not going to be worth. Okay. Okay. I think that's the perfect way for it. They were okay. And it's no coincidence that the one games you have is one in the series. They were spectacular. Like that, that you need your star players to play like star players. And since game one, they've just been okay. And that's not going to cut it against a star's team. That's not where I think I think a little bit of it is that the star's game plan has been widely revolving around shutting these guys down. And I don't want to say lazy because it's not lazy. I think the word people are looking for is frustrated where they're just not able to get the opportunities that they'd like. And then when they do, they can't execute on them. The passing the passing in this game sucked. Just they cannot complete basic passes where you go. We all go back to the valley example where you just look at the play with like that led to the empty net goal for Dallas with under a minute left. And it's just as at the point and gives like a pretty basic pass that gets through everyone's going pretty slow. Valley just can't handle it. It just goes right through them. It's a slow on the ice pass that just just beats them and goes right past them. Dallas gets it and then scores into the empty net. Whereas just simple, simple things like just fielding a pass, making a pass that's not in somebody's skates and this is not just a top line problem. Every single person on the ice was guilty of this. Well, yeah, I mean, there were so many examples of just missed passes and just all sorts of things that were just off. But the thing that gives me a little bit of positivity heading into it, those are things you can fix. Like that can be fixed. You just have to figure out a way to receive a puck and make better passes. It just felt like they were trying too many whole plays. I think there was a play in the second period. Michael Renton has the puck in the corner. It just throws a blind backhand pass into the middle of the ice. No one there. The stars intercepted easily. Like just make the smart plate. Dump it back around the boards. Like try and get your cycle going. I know you're in the mobile line change, but it's just those little things against a good Dallas stars team that are going to be the difference. The stars, if they make those mistakes against the abs, the abs are going to capitalize on that too. The stars are a really good hockey team. You can't be making those mistakes. The stars just haven't made a ton of those. And when they have, the abs haven't capitalized on a ton of them. And that so far has been the difference in why the stars are up two to one right now, because they're making less mistakes. They're playing much cleaner playoff hockey. We're in this game. The stars didn't do anything spectacular. There's not much I looked at in this game to go, man. What do you do about that? I'll tell you what to do about that. You stop making stupid mistakes. It's not simple. You stop giving it to them, where the stank oven go on the first period, you failed on two power plays prior to that that don't look particularly very good. And then there's an opportunity for Taze where he just fans on a rebound right in front that he would have put it into a wide open net. And the stars have like their first chance of the game. And it ends up in the net. That's opportunistic. And that like that to me was in hindsight, the game was lost in the first period. It felt that way after the first period, but based on how this team is performed later in games, I didn't want to start thinking that, but now that they didn't, that game felt pretty lost in the first period where you missed a lot of those chances. And you outplayed them and Dallas comes out with the lead. Yeah, I mean, that's just a good way to put it. I mean, you have Haves miss on that one. McKinnon's, it creeps through Roger, and I believe it was Tana for was it Lindell. Am I been super actually? I'm just saying it was Tana. I think it was Tana then Ben. Same time, swiped it off the goal line. Wiped it off the goal line. I honestly like, I'm kind of glad didn't go in because I feel like the whistle blew before it was even close to going in. So we would have had that whole like, when was the whistle blown type of drama. But that was really the abs only chance on the power play. And that's just not good enough when you're, when you're trying to take a secret lead in the series. So, yeah, that first period, that clear, I don't know what Devon Taves is doing like they have a chance to clear it and every Dallas stars goal they've scored the series has just felt like the abs have a chance to clear it and they can't get it out. I want three guys there and they couldn't get it out. There's no way to find this out, but I want to know like the exact percentage of goals, the abs have given up these playoffs and this season has just within 10 seconds of a failed clear. Because it feel like a lot. I feel like that would be a very uncomfortable thing to look at. Yes, agreed. It would definitely be. And it was the stars first chance of the game and it goes in the net. And yeah, I mean, Gary if almost saves it, he almost does, he gets like 50% but that's an impossible. Like you're asking your way to build out and I thought you're going to build them out a couple more times so he made up for it. You just didn't bail him out. Plus your give was the best abs player in this game. It's really not particularly close either. He was the best player for the abs in this game. This should have been a way worse score. And like that first goal against like okay sure. You'd prefer a save for sure. Don't turn the puck over the fucking ice. That is a cardinal sin for defense men. And again, your give just almost looked like he wasn't expecting that kind of play to happen and Stan Kogan has a good shot and beat And the second goal is scored by Tyler Sagan. Literally nothing he can do. So you have one goal that's a maybe not a bad goal. I'd say that's neutral. That's neutral. And the thing is he almost saved it. Like if it bounces the way it bounced for out in this game, it sails over the post. But that's just just way how do you go sometimes. And when you're here for that goal at all, you had three chances to clear the puck. And you, you failed on all three. And then you look we talked about this before we started here where you look at how these playoffs have shifted for the abs where your biggest concern going into the playoffs and after game one was your give how the fuck are you going to keep this guy in the crease he's playing like this. To now it's they're not performing in front of him at all. And he's kind of bailing them out and stopping these games from being outright embarrassments. The even the game to against Dallas where he gives up four goals you look at those like what do you want. Look, look at this. What do you want on these goals. And then this one he only lets into only one of them can you even make an argument that you get a save on and that you're talking he gives up two goals in the playoffs. You should win when you're goalie gives up to. You should, you should, but that I was just a really brutal, brutal turnover. And after that the stars really turned it on the rest of the first period the abs get kind of bailed out. I actually kind of wish that penalty wasn't called because then you knew the abs weren't going to get another one the rest of the game, because here's a thing about officiate and they gave the abs three power plays in the first period and they said hey, we gave you your chance. Well, here's the thing. There was no too many men on the ice calls for the abs in this game is one on the stars. There was one was shocking, but yeah, you know anything with it. So the abs get three penalty power plays in the first period. The third one carries over into the second period. And just nothing. You have three power play chances you generate a whole lot of nothing on them and you don't get another power play the rest of the game. Granted, the stars only got won the entire game. So it's not like I'm blaming officiating at all like the abs had the chances, but you knew once you got that third one. It's like, yeah, we're not getting another one the rest of the game, unless it's like a blatant blatant. Yeah, unless it's, you know, like a high stick, which they ignored. And you know, but you got you can't blame officiating this game you went over three and you get on both ones you're your best special teams was your penalty kill you got a goal because of your penalty kill. The game Sam Gerard's monstrous penalty kill on the one power play that the stars had and they score a goal within two minutes of it. And Sam Gerard had an incredible shift and it's finally followed up with that great superstar play from McKinnon that ran into just taps into the wide open net. That was the big turning point in the game for the abs that came from your penalty kill. Yeah, came from public Sam Gerard was really good tonight. I thought, maybe he was solid. It's just you need more from your top guys. And I do think they're going to get it like it's, we're talking or a lot of people are talking. I don't know if we're talking like the series is 31 and we're already like the series is over. It's far from over. Like if they go back and win game four on Monday. It's a two two series and everyone's just like okay just focus up if you win game five you have a chance to win and game six. It's just your memories got to be short in playoffs. You can't let things affect you. You just have to put it in the rear view mirror and move on because again the apps could win game four or five nothing. And then all of a sudden you're talking they have the momentum back and they just have to win two or three. They just have to win a game in Dallas the rest of the way where momentum changes really fast in the playoffs. I just get really frustrated with the attitude sometimes like Twitter is not a very nice place to. No it's nice. I think we all know this. I don't think I'm breaking any boundaries here saying Twitter is generally not a place you should spend a ton of time on but I just get so frustrated. Actually going into the third period of this game where it's just like you'd think it's six nothing at the series like the series is about to be over. Like man it's a one goal game. And yeah it's really frustrating but this team has been good in the third period and you know what you got lucky this time and you were right they sucked in the third period. But give it a chance first before you get preemptively angry and yeah we're all frustrated after this game. This was not a fun game to watch and it sucks being down in the playoffs and losing a game on home ice for the first time these playoffs. But you got to put it in the past you got to move on. You got to make adjustments. There's no time to mope in the playoffs. You got one day off tomorrow probably going to be another rough film session like it was coming into this game. And he's just got to figure it the fuck out. You got to start just going a little harder. Yeah it's just going to be how you respond. And if you go back to that second period the F's tight on that play by Miko Rantinen and Val Nachushkin a couple of minutes later has just a really really good chance. And I thought this was, I thought the second line didn't look great tonight. I mean Casey Milstadt and Ferrisian Val just they didn't look great tonight. They have one really good play and Val rings it off the post like a square as you can hit a post he hits it and we're talking if that goes in the address to one and it's only a chance in the game. In a game like that like I know you look at the abs you think oh they hit a post you know they're going to get it back in a game like this. That shit matters. They bring a lot of posts they missed open nets they got bounces to go against them it's death by a thousand cuts. It says you can't fan on everything that's not two feet from the net. You got to start cashing in on maybe some tougher opportunities here where the Rantinen goal is a great play by McKinnon and it is impossible to not score this goal the way it was set up for Miko Rantinen. Right there you just have to put it in and everything else they just couldn't convert in this game they wasted a lot of chances and I think there is a possibility in game four for them to convert a lot of those and score five in game four but they just just needs to be a little more intense I think that's what lacked a little bit there wasn't lazy they're just lacked a certain edge in this game it didn't feel like a playoff game. No I'm glad you brought that up because like I'm watching it and I'm like why like this should be I should be on the edge of my seat I was not on the edge of my seat once tonight. I caught myself like my eyes drifting a lot in this game looking down at my phone looking at my laptop and just like being distracted because I was great and I get that's a perfect game for Dallas to play some would argue that's quintessential playoff hockey is just boring as it just didn't feel very intense where again that third period this is not a knock on abs fans they had nothing to cheer for in the third period it just it all felt so dead. It just felt so lifeless what it felt like this and it was it was the Stars Gethans like the Stars played a very good third period they did and they played a good period and the abs didn't play a good period at all they got nothing going they were they couldn't get through the neutral zone there was a whole lot of nothing burger in that third period and yeah I agree I wasn't on the edge of my seat once like once me go scored I like this pumped and I screamed pretty loud but that was I was about it other than that I was kind of the same as you I was like I'm looking on Twitter like I'm seeing what my dog's doing I'm like oh wait it's Mother's Day tomorrow do I need to do I need to get anything else before like we go to brunch tomorrow like I'm like wait a second like this is game three of the fucking playoffs like what am I doing here like because here's the thing I had the rice and gold spoiled for me because I'm a full minute behind because I was like seeing what everyone said about Gerard and I was like oh okay we scored so I didn't even get that in this game which I feel like kind of sums up the whole experience yeah like it was just it was just yeah the same way I just the the excitement was there to start the game and then just kind of dwindled as we went on but again I'm not trying to get super negative and this is just one game in a long series you come out you win game four and all the vibes are totally different it's a totally different feel going into game five later that week you're not going to win every game in the playoffs and you just got to keep fighting and I think they're going to bounce back but we'll have to see but yeah I mean you're going to see a lot about what those abs team has made up in game four I mean this is there's ups and downs in the regular season there's ups and downs in the playoffs where yeah we are at three losses we're at 75% of our total in the from the 2022 cup run right now so it feels a little weird but there are down points in the playoffs where you got to recover from them if you can't recover in the playoffs you're dead but there are teams that go on deep runs and win championships that just didn't look very good for a certain stretch of the playoffs I mean to go back ten years ago the Los Angeles Kings were down three nothing to the Sharks in the first round there have been teams that have been down and come back in a series you just you have to adjust you have to stay in it you have to keep working you can't get frustrated you just have to stick with your game and if your game's not working you gotta change it up make smart adjustments still play your game because that's the thing the abs okay you look at deserve to win a meter expected goals shots on the goal okay they all favored the abs but what what we talked about earlier who benefits from this kind of game Dallas Dallas does 100% so I don't want to see that the abs deserves to win this game because they did Dallas to win this game so now the abs need to play their game and play a game that is more beneficial to how they win hockey games because this is how Dallas wins hockey games and if you're going to continue to play a series like this you're going to lose is that simple the two team the two teams we have seen in the first three games this series Dallas is going to win the abs have to change it up and I believe that they will the playoffs are all about making adjustments but you can't sit here and act like the first three games didn't happen they're going to have to adjust they're going to have to just I don't want to say try a little harder because that sounds really reductive but that's the simple way of putting it it's just a boy putting it and I think they will I agree with you I mean I remain positive it's a tough loss but I mean I thought this game like the perfect microcosm of how this game went for the abs the game winning goal by the stars in the second period I think it to down off puts that pass through a hundred times it gets through five like that's also the thing I just I didn't love the coverage yeah like get through no it shouldn't get through like it was a whole pass and I even think Sagan was a little surprise that it got to him because it went from one face off circle basically to the other I think your gift was the same thing he was expecting a deflection so it's like yeah nothing you can do nothing you can do and Sagan has a wide open it Kogwayano tries to get back I don't know what the tangings of Walker were doing on this play and almost word was like if you're going to let the guy go lag off the right way and block off the pass like I think your gift was a little confused on it too because you you're expecting them to take one of the options away they didn't take either away yeah it's just it's just the kind of play where it's just like just a little more little more little more stride in your skate little further on the stick out and me and Andrew Kogwayano just you brought him up and it made me sighs like man he just hasn't been very good a series for the most but he had the past to do him in game two but other than that he is just had a rough time yeah I mean he's he's a fourth liner I got me I'm just I'm not gonna throw many sticks and stones at Andrew Kogwayano but it's just you look at it now with hopefully Drew and coming backway in the series I don't know who's going to come out because I don't think you take kiwi Ront out I don't know how it's anyone but Kogwayano yeah like that's kind of where I'm at too that's Daisy I don't know what do you actually hear that yeah I heard that was that sneeze that was Daisy laying out the mother of all sneezes respect respect to Daisy Drew and seems to be getting closer his playmaking ability is going to be very much needed when he comes back they need that extra bomb they need a spark they need a spark and Drew and will provide that spark with his playmaking ability but yeah I mean that the game winning goal very preventable again and nothing your gift can do and yeah I mean it's just it was just a frustrating game like you're just watching like this game sucks like I really want to turn this off like I almost wish they got blown out so I could have just like totally zoned out but you go down into the third period you're not by one and you're thinking okay we aren't down by three going into the third period that's a positive change you take the run and the third period was just a snore fest of a third period so they have to really get no chances stars get too empty netters and it's just my big thing is you're going to need some production from this casey middle stat line they've been non-existent in this series so far non-existent and we were asking for middle stat to be half a point per game he was great in round one phenomenal in round one hasn't really found it in this series yet you need him to step it up you need that line to step it up I know Zach Parisi's playing with him Parisi's playing out of his depth like maybe ten years ago Zach Parisi on a second line makes sense but he's 39 years old these grind is damned us out there again the second rounds like the adrenaline's gone now now it's just the grind we're in the first round Zach Parisi has to push 39 this is his last chance and then you get seven games eight games into the playoffs and year 39 still and that adrenaline's really starting to wear off a little bit worse just he's fine he's a fine player just he's out of his depth like he's just you need you need Jonathan Drew and back up there you need him back and hopefully he's good enough to go for game four he's been skating in the non-contact stuff I still think it's game five the earliest form yeah I think you got a defender home ice maybe without him and then if you win game four and you get him back for game five what a Joel momentum abs again like but you got a win game four you got a win game four you got a win game four but that's my big thing like you can say all you want about McKinnon and Ratcheton I have faith they're going to turn it around because they're two of the top ten players in the world you need more from Casey middle step you need more from him and his line hasn't been great hasn't been great so far in the series and you're going to need him to step it up a little bit you're going to need him to step it up a little bit the Ross Colt line provides the energy they were good in the first period but they kind of faded as the game went on and the fourth line Trennan and Duhane they're okay like they don't really do much they they're on the ice for the game winning goal but it's just you need more just a little bit more from everyone else and you'll win this game and you can still win the series like the series is not you're not on the brink of elimination after three games someone has to be winning in this three nothing or two one in a series teams have come back down to one this is not some insurmountable deficit it's frustrating for sure because you probably should be down three nothing right now probably should be but you're not you want you won game one you had a massive three goal comeback and you're still in it you're still in this it wouldn't matter if that happened tonight in game three or in game one it's still two one in the series and you win game four and you're tied you have a really good game in game four it's tied and you're talking about getting someone important like true and back eventually mother it is game four or game five getting him back is going to be a big joke but the app like they just they got to change up how they're playing got to change up another plane it's the fact that the ads have not led for a second in the series and you're only down to one that okay like you can you can do this you just have to get a lead score first in game four let's start there let's start with that let's have a lead for a little while this feels like the Seattle crack in series all over again yeah which is not a fun thing to bring up no not a fun thing to think about but you can score the first goal game for score the first goal Nathan McKinnon be Nathan McKinnon you can't let Chris Tanniff and Essel and Del fuck up your entire thing make their good defense they should not be shutting you down yeah the ads need something that's going to open this game up and I think they might have to embrace the physicality a little bit of it I think they are I think they are a little bit I think they just they need a little more in the neutral zone more knocking guys down on you guys I'm not saying chase guys around and start giving up odd man rushes I mean just like I think just you need to finish your checks a little harder I think you need to bring the crowd into it a little bit more knock some people down behind the net knock some people down in front of the net start to piss Dallas off a little get them like a little distracted from their game and open it up a little bit open some more room in neutral zone allow for some more room to cycle or like we talked a little bit about the physicality and the preview it's like I don't think it's like the kind of physicality that everyone's thinking of I think it's just a lot more of the little details we're like net front battle guy pushing you out in front of the net back into them a little bit like you push them out from in front of your net just back check a little harder someone's fishing for a puck on the boards they get a little difficult for him where it's just you're asking for a little bit more because you know the team is good enough you know you can beat Dallas you've done it four times so far this year just little harder so hard little hard and I think they're gonna do it in game four there's gonna be those little details you gotta find a way to just produce from the top line down and the thing is is it's not like you can look at this game and be like there's not there's a whole lot of things you have to change so they're gonna come up with a whole lot of things so they're gonna come up with a whole new game plan hopefully fingers crossed prior in the sky Jonathan Drew ends back because then you throw Drew and back on that top line move Lecky and Val down to the second line with middle stat Brissy goes back down to the fourth line and you go from there you go from there so I think it's just gonna be about executing complete tape to tape passes and score the first God damn goal score the first God damn goal keep the crowd engaged it's you've been to ball arena I've seen many playoff games there when that building dropping it's one of the loudest in the league and you gotta find a way to keep them engaged and just keep the stars off their game if you play like you did in the first period for the entire game in game four you're gonna win that game it's just you're really kind of feathered off that goal by staying covered in the first period I think took the wind out of the sails a little bit for the abs it's the perfect way to do it the abs controlled most the first period and they give up the first goal taking a needle to a balloon just let it let's all the air out and it's it's tough to recover from stuff like that and again it's it's a lack of of execution and you can fix that you just tape to tape you just a little more in sync with everyone else I don't know if they all just collectively didn't sleep well last night but they just they if you execute a little better you win this game and if you can do that in game four you're gonna win that game too and they I thought they just let the stars get too comfortable the stars didn't have to do a lot in this game where they drop back into the one two two in the third period which the abs are historically not very good against you know buck beat the bore and his boring ass playoff systems but they struggled to generate anything like Dallas just like all right we'll sit back and munch popcorn while you guys completely fail to connect on passes at the blue line and just clear the puck for us like the Jack Johnson back in his own zone just like given the puck to nobody kind of thing like just simple simple things or just when you're gonna pass the puck make sure it's going somewhere and if you're gonna enter the neutral zone actually enter the neutral zone and the boards is not a viable passing target you need to give it to someone on your team and that'll work out a lot better and skates does not count you have to give it on the stick you know simple things you learn when you're five simple things are five you want to hear you want to feel smart for a second and like you know hockey Bednar said after the game it was lost in the first 20 minutes when they couldn't get a goal yeah genius you should feel smart there because you're you're right in tune with Jared I've had a hard time this episode because I just feel so top heavy in my brain wants to keep weighing me down onto my laptop and slam my face onto my desk my brain's just it's coming out of my ears it's too big oh and then Jared bread and I also said they need to they need to make it tougher front and create more traffic in front of that wow we're smart now I will do this for free if they will we should feel smart like we're we could be an angel coach so yeah but that I just found that funny cuz it's like I mean but it's also it's it's right there and available you're watching the game like it's just you have to score on three power plays in a playoff series especially in a game where the other team only has one and you need to make life for the goalie a little harder like yeah Andre played a good game I was pretty hard from not to play in this one I thought and Jake Odinger is a good goalie you gotta make life a little more complicated how to make life a little more complicated for him so it's good to know our eye test doesn't deceive Jared Bednar so yeah I mean look at game four we talked about some previews for it I feel I mean ask I'm not saying I'm super confident going into the stars are a very good team I it's it's a very very important game I think the apps need to treat this as if they are facing elimination because let's be honest they go back to Dallas down 31 not feeling too great about that yeah I can't say I feel real not feel great about it so but I think the intensity is gonna be there I think they're gonna find a way to score some early goals actually have a lead in the series play with a little bit forced the stars to get out of their defensive structure and because that's the thing if you get the stars at their defensive structure you can beat them they're just so they're so in tune with their defensive structure so I'm gonna say the abs win it two to one I think it's a very low scoring game and I think they win it it's a good defensive oriented game from the abs that are smart with the puck no stupid turnovers and I think Yuri have continues his strong play I think the abs get it done I think they win two to one yeah and I think going back to game three after Winnipeg in the last series thing we were saying is like this is the abs series the jets are responding to what the abs are doing right now for three games it's been the opposite where the abs are responding to what the stars are doing and the stars are controlling how this series is played you gotta change that you gotta just force the stars out of their element how exactly do you do that I don't know Jared Ben dar gets paid a lot of money I'm sure he can figure it out but like whether it's dumping and chasing and knocking guys down behind the net because you have guys that are physical like you have Josh Madison you have brand new him you have Yakov trying to like you have guys that are not afraid to throw the body to use them that way a little more and try to if they won't give you space take space in the next game I think they are going to adjust I think they are going to win this game and I think it's going to be very uncomfortable because I think the abs went at three to two and overtime I think this is I was about to say overtime it just it feels like an overtime game it feels like it and it's it's just because I think the abs are going to play well but I think the stars are just a really damn good team. The stars are one of the best teams in hockey. I think whoever wins this series is going to the Stanley Cup final. If this ends up winning this series they've got a very good chance to win this entire thing. It's not going to be easy to beat them and I think for this game be after going to play really well your games going to play really well like the stars are going to play really well too. But you're going to need someone to just be a hero again in this game like Miles Wood was in game one and I think they get it done in overtime I'm going to say Yakov trend and wins it. I like it because even though like the stars have had big leads in this game every games come down to the last minute like it's still like it's right there for you it's right there it's the stars aren't just vastly out playing you in the series. It's right there you just need to focus a little bit more on the minor details and you can win these games it's right there for the taking it's right there. I like that point but the stars are not out playing you in the hockey they are out playing you in the style. The style has been all stars the hockey has been close but in order to win this series and push it over the finish line this is going to have to be playing more games the way the apps like to play games and finding ways to get that and not just kind of being like well what do you do when the stars don't allow you to do that kind of like Winnipeg did because the Jets kind of did allow them to do that the cars aren't going to you're going to have to find ways to win games like this that are uncomfortable where it's it's this this is it this is the two to one playoff game that everyone talks about when there's a boring ass game in the regular season say oh two to one playoff game this is it you got to find a way to win that game. And so for game four I think it's a great game. I think it's going to go to overtime and you're just going to need someone to grind one in I think Trenton is going to dig a puck out on the boards and just we're due for a double overtime game. So I don't listen to rare but it just preemptively kill people like this. Oh I don't either but it just feels like it's coming because this series is tight like it's the apps have not led a single second but they're not getting destroyed by the stars they just aren't so you can win these games you can still win this series just go out there and win game for I agree with you it's going to be uncomfortable. I don't think there's going to be an easy win in this series for either team they're going to you're going to grind it out you're going to sweat to the last second and I feel confident the abs are going to do that in game for a Monday night. I like two to one in regulation you got three two in overtime but overall I feel I feel like the abs are going to come out and respond Monday night. I completely agree I think they're going to win the game I don't think it's going to be easy but I think this team they've got too much experience they've got too much talents and I just I just can't see them continuing this. They've there there has to be more here at the end of the day has to be more and I get it as fans are frustrated but just the series is over it's not over you can be frustrated. And if the same thing happens Monday night and you have to go down three one me and you both will have a totally different to going into that this episode. They come out three straight games looking like shit yeah I'm going to be fucking pissed I'm mad right now but I'm just trying not to overreact. Correct. I have a platform and I don't want to ignite. I mean we could if we wanted to get really in like voice like you think about how much power we have sometimes we're just like it's not that much but it's always good. I don't think our listeners are too smart for that. I think we could honestly I think people would rightfully cause that you guys would be a bunch of fucking punks need to shut up. Yeah I agree I agree but it's but they're going to respond I'm going to think positively and Monday night I think the abs bounce back I do. I think they bounce back and they find a way to tie the series and then game five would be Wednesday or Thursday. Massive game so let's get crazy. I want to say the abs do the reverse of what happened against the nights in that series. They find a way to win game five on the road. They're going to win game four they're going to win game five and then hopefully close it out game six. Yeah. I'm not going to like why not let's get crazy. But you got to win game you got to win game four. You got to win game four. Yeah that's where you are at this point when you have two pretty bad games in a row kind of three but you got to find a way to just figure it out. Put your game together and get it back otherwise you're fucked and you're not going to win the series and you're going to be. It's not going to be very complicated looking back at the series in the summer you're just going to say you got beat by a better team. Yep. I agreed. I agreed. But deep breath I think we're going to be okay. I think I say that. We hope we're going to be okay. Hope we're going to be okay. But we'll have to wait and see. I do like doing the show after these games because it does make me feel just like get all these thoughts out and not just like go to bed thinking about it. So it doesn't make me feel a little bit better. This is one where I'm coming in to be like man. I might need to sleep on this a little before we get into it. Because I'm also like I don't know how we're going to squeeze an hour out of this boring ass hockey game. We got pretty close. I mean we still got to get in pretty close right now. But I'm still glad we did this one. Yeah, it feels good. It feels good after we do it. So any other thoughts about the game before we do a recap of the rest of the NHL playoffs? I mean I think we've covered everything we need to say. And again, this game did not have a lot of events. Nope. Like there was just not a ton that happened in this game. And just a bunch of death by a thousand cuts. Some mistakes, posts, unable to complete passes, unable to tie guys up on goals like Kogliano couldn't for Sagan on what was eventually the game winning goal. And you did what you needed. No, you didn't. I don't know why I'm saying that. I think I think that was just muscle memory with that. I don't know what I was talking about. I think my brain just short circuited. You didn't do what you needed to do in this game. That was weird. I think I genuinely just got distracted. You're approaching two AM your time. I'm going to give you a break. You didn't do what you needed to do in this game. And for the rest of the series, you need to do what you need to do. Correct. Good save. Good save. You want to talk about pain? Could you imagine being a Carolina Hurricanes fan right now? Because that series, it feels unfair that they're down three one. Yeah. It feels unfair, but it also feels fair. Right. Like, like, I don't think the hurricanes have been bad in that series. It's just the lack of execution on the power play and letting the Rangers score so many short-handed goals. The series is like the Rangers have two overtime wins. And that's the difference in the series right now. The last eight hurricanes losses in the playoffs have been by a goal. At a certain point, it's not that luck. With a certain point is just how you play. They do win game four and force game five in the series with a three to four win on home ice. They're 25% of the way there. 25. Like, it's just, if you're a hurricane fan, I think the series pained you more than anything because E-Gorshosterken has been great this series. And they tried to check off in game three, which we talked about. And you go back to Anderson in game four and Anderson almost cost of the series. That goal he gave up to Lafranier to tie the game. That was almost a backbreaker. Ru-to-goal. Ru-to-go. In that position. I thought the Rangers were going to win. Yeah. I totally did too. And for the Hurricanes, you look back at the first three games of that series. And you go, imagine if we got that goal from Shay at any point before this. They could very easily beat themselves up three-one in the series. Yeah. They probably should be. Yeah. Because they give up a short-handed goal in game three. And that was their first power play goal in the first four games. And Brage was a game winner. Yeah. It's a shot from the point. Wasn't even that special. Just a shot from the point finds its way into the back of the net for their first one in 2017 attempts. Yeah. I think that's what they said. Yeah. That's... That's not good enough. No. They cut it. No. They win the game. They're back in the series. It's going back to Masson Square Garden for a game five. The Rangers lose their first game of the playoffs. I'm honestly kind of pissed because I didn't realize that if the Rangers were to won, the game would have started for the abs at like six o'clock. Yeah. That would have been sweet. It's like... It's always something. Yeah. It's not supposed to enjoy anything. Yeah. That would have been very sweet. Could you imagine if we like actually got to do a podcast like at nine p.m. my time 11 yours and we're done by one a.m. Your time. Oh my God. And we like headed a reasonable hour. Yeah. It's too good to be true. Yeah. Too good to be true. But man, we talked about in the last episode. Next year, we're going to make it to Crete. If you're a fan of the show and you listen to it, remind us when the playoffs start next year to not believe in the Carolina Hurricanes. That's all over this every year. Unless they win this series. Unless they win the series. Which I don't think they're going to. Which I don't quite see happening. I don't think they're going to. Three more one goal games. Because that's facing. These are all going to be one goal games for the rest of the series. I don't see them winning three more of them in a row. The Rangers. I think they can push it six. I think they might win game five. But. Well, we'll see. I don't know. I think the Rangers are. I don't know if they're a wagon. They're a really good hockey team. And if we're in the trust tree. Rangers stars would kind of kick ass in the Cup final. I think that'd be a fun series if we were to lose. It'd be hell for us because. Those are two of the teams I hate the most. The alternative. The Oilers. Yeah. Like it's not really a great alternative. It's just I think I would just turn my brain off. Yeah. The series I would not go online. I would just. Like you're going to watch a Fast and Furious movie. You just shut your brain off and you just take in the information. I agree with that. I agree with that. You don't. You don't think about it too much. No, you don't think about it. So. Yeah. I mean, good for the Hurricanes for getting one. It just feels unfair that they're down three one in the series. But at the same time, they do it to themselves. So you can't really get too mad. And yeah, the Rangers are a good hockey team. And Igor Shuster can explain some really good hockey right now. But we'll have to see. It's looking like it's probably going to be Rangers Panthers in the next round. The Panthers just beat the shit out of the Bruins in game three. Like that was. Jesus beat down that the Panthers put on them. And it was game one was rough for the Panthers. But yeah, they look like they're back to normal. Like sometimes it seems just have bad games. Yeah. Even then they didn't play that bad game one. They had 39 shots in that game. And the Bruins were getting goals from creative players. Right. You look at the last two games of the series. It's a 12 to three. Yeah. In games two and three. Where you. There was a lot of Boston chess pumping coming into the game. It's like, Oh, Maca Chucks. He's going to have to watch his back tonight in this game. And they fucking pumped him. Like that's. That's embarrassing if you're Boston. You talk all that shit and you're down four to nothing and lose six to two. And it's power plagal power plagal power plagal power. They give up four power plagals in this game where. Well, they had I was sweating a little bit after game one about my my Panthers predictions. I have them in the final and my my second chance bracket. And I was sweating a little bit, but this is the Panthers team. I was expecting to see in this. They are just better in a inconceivable way. It is. It is. You're watching these games and you're just like, yep, Panthers have that dude. Okay. Oh, yep. They got that dude too. Oh, oh, okay. They have another dude right there. Like that team is just. Oh, yeah. Evan Rodriguez. I remember that guy. Yeah. And if Jeremy Swamin, I don't think Jeremy Swamin's been bad in these games. What's he supposed to do? What's he supposed to do? He's just getting bombarded. I think they're going to start homework in game four, which I think is a mistake. I think that's a complete mistake. I mean, you're totally on the wrong guy. Yeah. When out there and put an all mark in the cage and all marks a fine goal. He could be a future after all we know, but it's Swamin's been the guy. He's been probably the best goalie in the playoffs. It's just what do you do when you're having like artillery shells long? He's like that game. You're just watching that and you just go like he had. He's the full right to go around that locker room and hit everyone with the goal. Like only across the face is like, what the fuck do you people want from me? And the thing about the Panthers, like their decor shouldn't be as good as it is. Like it's not a bunch of like superstars. It's just a bunch of really solid players, just solid. Like just under rate, like Gustav Forsling has to be under rated player conversation. What they just signed in for was it five million a year for seven years? I was just looking for that. They signed him for eight years by the point seven five. Yeah, that's a steal. That was signed two months ago. What the fuck is ridiculous. He was the waivers from Chicago, right? They picked him up off waivers, didn't they? Was it waiver? Was it Chicago? It was from Carolina. Carolina, they got them waivers. Yeah. I don't know. Carolina has like 90 bajillion defensemen. So I don't feel like the. And Carolina got him from Chicago, I think. Okay. Yeah. He was also connock initially. He got traded to the Hawks in 2015. Fun fact. But he's a late. The definition of a late bloomer. The guy is 27. This is like, this is their Devontes, just total late bloomer. It looked like a depth defenseman for most of his career. And then just randomly turned into a top parry guy. Yeah. Now he makes a lot of money, not as much money as he should. And is just one of the most underrated defenseman in the league. And then Brandon Montor, who let me down all regular season in fantasy, is now a point per game in the playoffs. Oh, he's going to get paid this off season. He's going to get like the Panthers. They have to win this year because there's Reinhardt's going to get paid. Oh, he's going to get paid. And it's just the Panthers are a fucking wagon. And I hope they just finished the Bruins off. I hope they just. I hope they win game four and it's three one and that series is over in five. Yeah. Like either. I hope the Panthers had a blow them out or the Bruins can at least make this interesting. Yeah. Those last two games have not been close. Like I've watched them kind of on and off where it's just like, I'll watch it if it gets close. And then it doesn't. So I go, okay, well, I'm just going to keep playing held divers and do this. I got enough hockey to worry about on my own plate. Yeah. It's just it's going to be it's looking like Panthers Rangers and that series is going to kick so much. That's a good series. If that series is going to be in words like the Rangers have been really good. Panthers are a scary hockey team. They're scary. They're scary. So I feel I like the Panthers a lot. The Rangers look good and we knew this series between the Panthers and whoever they face was going to be just a bloodbath and it's so far been that way. And I think Marshaans hurt. Yeah. From third period. I imagine he plays game four. A bell yaking. I saw from this where it was like I didn't see it happen until like today. Dude, I saw the replay and everyone's like, that's a dirty. I'm like, what? What's dirty? I'm like, like the fact that the Panthers can, well, they have Sam Bennett played fourth line in this game. Yeah. What the fuck? What are we talking about here, man? Sam Bennett's a top six forward for a lot of teams and he's playing fourth line for you. Like, I think Ryan Longberg hasn't even played in these playoffs because the Panthers are so deep. Yeah. I think they're fine with that for the most part, but like it's just crazy, man. Like the Panthers fucking are just a very deep team, but Brodsky hasn't had to do much, but he's done enough. Like it's, I do kind of like how the Panthers are being undervalued and everyone's talking about the Rangers because the Panthers have looked just as dominant. Yeah. I mean, if I, I mean, they're a good bet to win. Yeah. We could bet. I mean, all the teams that are left, I feel like are a good bet to win. Maybe outside Carolina right now. Maybe outside them down three to one at the moment, but I feel like every team left is just real solid, real close. And you switch out West and you look at Edmonton and Vancouver. They both look fine. The games have been fun. Yeah. They've been fun games. I agree with you though. What you said earlier, like whoever wins this half star series, I think it's going to the final. Yeah. Like the Oilers should be crushing the Canucks right now and they're having to fight for everything. The Canucks should be up to one in the series. They should be. I don't know what Ian Cole was doing. No. But that I don't know what he thought was happening on this play, but it's the perfect deflection. Oh, great deflection. I think that's a great name. Yeah. The best way to defend Zach Hyman is to take his job, apparently. It's just like the Canucks, you get that goal from Nikita Zadoroff and you go up three to two. Was that in the third period? No, it was the second period. It was the second period. And you look at Ian Cole, he scores the game winner for Edmonton. And Tyler Myers on this play that McDavid scores to tie the game. What are you doing, buddy? Like Pete Blackburn said it best. He's just on the ice throwing ass. What do you try to defend here? It's Conor McDavid, bro. Like, you know, he's going to be fast. Skate as fast backwards as you can. Don't try and poke the puck away from Conor McDavid because it's not going to work. He's better than 99% of the players in the league. And poor. Why do we always butcher his name? Sleeves? Sleeves? That's the worst one we've had so far. I think it's sea love. Sea love. Sea love. Like, what's he supposed to do, man? Like, I love the TNT break down. Hendrik Onequist is like, yeah, he'd love to go out and attack that more, but it's Conor McDavid. So you're just like, fuck, just hopefully I make it safe. But also, like, think about that in real time. You see your defenseman out there just shaking that shit in broad daylight as McDavid breaks free. You have, like, two seconds to make a decision. And the first second and a half is oh, fuck. So now you're just now you're just sitting back and hoping he misses. Yeah. Hoping he misses. And he ties the game. But this series has been more competitive than I thought it'd be. I thought the Oilers were going to just steamroll the Canucks. The Canucks are they've shown me a little bit more that they're a good team. And I still think Edmonton's going to win the series. They will. They don't think it's going to be as important. Yeah. Edmonton's getting better scoring in the series where you get Alias Patterson finally to score in these playoffs and Brock Besser has five goals, but like Nikita Zadora has four goals. Yeah. How long is that going to be the case so far for this team where Nikita Zadora is a load bearing piece of the offense where it wouldn't be even close in these games without him. Like they just need what they have a decent team is just they can't seem to find ways to even get shots on goal. Well, it's not good in the series. Oh, yeah. It's like he's they put on 19 shots. They beat him three times the problem against Nashville too, where they just couldn't find a way to even get pucks through. And they're still getting incredibly high shooting percentages. And they're they're riding this this third string goalie for all he's worth. And they're going to get to game five at least where hopefully Demko can be back. But this series now gets real in Edmonton where again, home ice is nice until it's not. And now you're in three and four in Edmonton where Edmonton has historically been pretty good in the playoffs on home ice against every team not named the abs. But Vancouver has to steal a game here. They they've got to look much better. And I just I have a feeling the series could get less interesting if the Oilers play the way I'm expecting them to. I agree. And it's just now they have some more film on this third string goaltender. They're going to figure out more ways and you don't get last change. You can't match up against the Oilers the way you want to. It's been more competitive than I thought if the Canucks can find a way to win games three or four and it's true to it'll be a fun series going the rest of the way. I do still think Edmonton is going to win it. It's just I feel kind of in a way bad for Quinn Hughes. Like just watching him out there he's getting bullied. He's just getting dominated by everyone and he's been good. It's just you feel bad for the guy because every time he's out there it seems like an Oilers just laying in the fuck out. Yeah. He's kind of bad for the kid at a point. It's the kind of series where it's a learning experience for him. When has just not played a ton of playoff hockey in his career he he was on the bubble team. He was on the bubble team. He was only on the bubble team. I don't know how I forgot that. And then played against Nashville or that series was just there for them. It was a regular season hockey for six times. And this one where it's just like yeah this is this is hatred Quinn. This is what it's like for you feel the the weight of a city on your shoulders and these guys want to fucking kill you. I feel kind of bad for him out him just watching me. He's just getting bullied out there like every chance the Oilers get to lay a hit on point use they do it and they fucking finish that check on him and you're just watching it like damn this poor guy man he's just getting beat up out there and I do still think the Oilers are going with that series. I think I said five and I thought the Canucks could steal one. I think it goes six. It's just the Oilers have way more talent and they're just playing better and I don't think Stuart Skinner is going to continue to be this bad. Yeah. It also is short circuited my brain because I don't know how I've just never registered this until this moment but the fact that is Rogers Arena and Rogers place I don't like that. That's just weird to me. I don't understand. I have a hard time telling which one is which because I'm not very smart. You just kind of broke my brain there. Yeah. I had to think about it. I never processed that before in my life that the Canucks play in Rogers Arena and the Oilers play in Rogers place. Yeah. I don't like that. That's weird. I thought for yeah you just broke my brain because then again you have the scotchabank saddle dome and Calgary and then you have the scotchabank. What's the name? I never thought it. You have the same name. Yeah. It's the scotchabank. What is it? Scotchabank Arena for the leaves. That's where my brain just went. I had never put two and two together there. You just broke my brain and then I just broke your brain. I don't like that. I don't like that either. Come on. They got to walk back that probably billion dollar sponsorship deal for my sleep. How much might do those two companies have? They're expensive. Rogers is probably could buy like significant portions of both countries. What is Rogers? What do they do? I think it's phones. I think they're like Verizon. I'm going to have to let any Canadians please educate. Yeah. Please let's know because please educate me on your culture because I do not know anything about Rogers. Oh, it's a communication company. Yeah. That's what I was trying to do. They do they do mobile internet TV home. So they're just basically everything. Yeah. They're the they're everything. Okay. That makes more sense. And well, wait, isn't there? Because it's Bell Place in Montreal and isn't Ottawa's name Bell to? No, no, Canada, the Canadians is Bell Center and the senators. I genuinely do not remember. Oh, it's a tire. It's Canadian Tire. Canadian Tire. Canadian Tire. Yeah. A lot of Canadian companies in here. Canadians are listening to the show right now at this point, they're like, these guys are fucking idiots. And it's like, all right, I've never been to Canada. I live in Maryland, man. You're closer to Canada than I am, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Because Canada is further down on the East Coast. Yeah. Yeah. That's a great conversation. It's a great conversation. It's a fantastic conversation. You can tell where our brains are at. But overall, I do think Edmonton's going to win that series. I think Florida is going to win their series. I think New York's going to win their series, and I still think the odds are going to win this series. I do. I do. Someone asked them how to come back. There hasn't been a lot of that in these playoffs. Has anyone mounted a comeback at all? No. I don't even think there's been like opportunities for a comeback if we're being... I'm trying to think. Florida didn't, Boston didn't, Rangers didn't, Hurricanes didn't, Dallas did. That's the one. Oh, yeah, they did. Oh, Toronto. Vancouver did not. Edmonton did not. I have one comeback in seven series so far. So you're due. We're due. I just think the abs are going to win. I think I'm going to bounce back Game 4 this late. I think the abs are going to win it, and we're going to be coming on here late Monday night talking about a 2-2 series. I certainly hope that is the case. But yeah, this one sucks. There's no other way around it. Not good enough. You're going to need a little more in order to finish off this series. And you need to send this back to Dallas, tie it too. Tied it too. And before the episode ends, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Make sure you do something nice for your mom today. Yep. I know you'll probably be doing something. Are you doing something with your mom tomorrow? Of course. Okay. All right, good. I am too. I'm making a breakfast, and that'll just probably be a horrific thing. I'm making French toast. You can't fuck up French toast, right? No, I don't know if you can. No pressure. No pressure, anything. No pressure. It's a simple French toast. I'm going to make it. It will be fine. But shut out all the moms out there. And yeah. I'll do that double whammy. It's my mom's birthday and mother's date. Double whammy. Mmm. So. Got to double up the gifts, double up the flowers. So. Yeah. Everyone make sure you call your mom. Tell your mom you love them. Happy Mother's Day is all the moms out there. We love you. You know, we got a couple of moms who are listening to the show. So we appreciate you. All you do. So the backbone of society. So shout out all the moms. Sorry, the abs couldn't perform a little better for you in this game. But hopefully they'll pay you back on Monday afterwards. It's a late gift, you know, late Mother's Day gift. Yeah. They'll deliver when it counts, hopefully. But yeah. Dallas up two to one in this series. The abs looking to send it back to Dallas for game five tied at two because you really don't have a lot of options outside of that. So ultimately, I think you just need better all around. I want to point to the top guys and say you need better, but you just, for very much everyone not named Alex, you already have, you just, you just wanted just a little bit more right now. So I'm content to leave it at that for now. I believe we are at an hour somehow talking about this God awful hockey game. So I'm content to leave it at this for now and this Christian, you have any late 2 a.m. wisdom that's fallen into your head. No. I don't think so. I thought that let that a war borealis thing or whatever the fuck they're called. I thought everyone posting that like it was fake and I was like, why are these people just folks? I had no idea that that was like a real thing. Did you not know like the Northern Lights existed? No, I knew they existed. I was just shocked that this many people in America got to see him yesterday. So that kind of blew my mind. I thought people were just like photoshopping things and I'm like, why am I just seeing them all collectively photoshopping? I mean, that's where my brain went. It was a late night last night. I was just like scrolling. I'm like, what the fuck happened? Like did I miss? Let's see. I just had no idea. It was even happening. You did. I did miss something. I did miss something. But yeah, that's that's pretty much it for my two. Yeah, shout out to my dear friend, Amir, for sending me all the Aurora borealis pictures from. That was called. Did I just totally fuck that up? Aurora borealis. That was called. I don't know how to say that because of the Simpsons. Yeah, that's why I thought too, and I was like, yeah, the Simpsons movie. You know, you're not that young. You knew that. Yeah, the Aurora borealis. That wasn't even in the Simpsons movie though. That was it. That was its own skit. Yeah. But there was in the Simpsons movie too. Oh, yeah. But the famous one's not in the movie. Yeah, true. Yeah. In this part of the country, at this time of year, localized entirely within your kitchen, you know what I'm talking about, right? How many people do you think like the younger ones just have no idea what the Simpsons is? No, that was a meme for like a solid five years. Like, no, I agree. But no one, go back and watch the Simpsons. Great TV show. I remember my dad had them on DVD, so like I, that's surely how old I was. I was watching DVDs. I watched DVDs. No, it was a kid. All right, cool. All right. Doesn't make me feel as old. But yeah, that's my two way in thoughts. Before we go off on another 30-man tangent about just rambling nothing, let's wrap up this show. We'll do that off air. We can ramble. We'll do that off air. I feel like sometimes people enjoy our nonsense at certain moments, but maybe time and place for stuff like that.
