AP news on Mike heaven. Israeli forces are pushing deeper into Rafa. Heavy bombardment was reported overnight in Shabbalah and other areas in northern Gaza. Residents said Israeli warplanes and artillery struck across the camp and there's a tune area east of Gaza City. The north has been largely isolated by Israeli forces for months. You and officials say there's a full-blown famine there. Just a day earlier in central Gaza, families gathered round the bodies of loved ones. After over a dozen people were killed by Israeli strikes. A young boy, around 11 years old, in a red t-shirt and a crew cut lay on the ground dead with a pool of blood seeping beneath his neck. A woman crouched beside his body and said, all civilians were not guilty of anything. What is this child guilty of? I'm Karen Shamas. Speaking on NBC's Meet the Press, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken says the U.S. remains hopeful that a ceasefire agreement can be reached. It remains our view that the fastest way to get to a ceasefire, the fastest way to get hostages home is through an agreement and we're determined every single day to pursue that and to try to get it to happen. Blinken says the U.S. believes Israeli forces should get out of Gaza but is waiting to see credible plans from Israel for security and governance in the territory after the war. Russia's President Vladimir Putin has begun a cabinet shake-up proposing the replacement of the country's defense minister as he begins his fifth term in office. The announcement comes as 12 people were reported dead and more than 20 wounded in a Russian border city where a section of a residential building collapsed after what Russian officials said was Ukrainian shelling. Investigators in Ohio are looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a police officer. Authorities say the officer was shot and killed while answering a disturbance call Saturday night in the Cleveland suburb of Euclid. This is AP News. Another prosecution star witness in Donald Trump's Hush Money trial is about to take the stand. He once said he'd take a bullet for Donald Trump. Now his former lawyer Michael Cohen is going to testify against the former president in his Hush Money trial. Cohen paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about what she testified to as a sex encounter with Trump, which he denies. Prosecutors say the crime was Trump reimbursing Cohen for the Hush Money.
