AP News, I'm Ham Cunjwani. Control demolition of the Baltimore Bridge Collab site is on track. At a news conference coast guard rear admiral, Shangeel Reith says the Dolly's crew will remain on the vessel during the control demolition. They're staying on board because they're part of the ship. They are necessary to keep the ship safe and operational. If something were to happen, they are in the best place to actually fire fire on board the ship because they're familiar with it. They're familiar with all of their safety equipment. They are the best responders on board the ship themselves. Testimony at the Hartter prosecution charges against former President Donald Trump continues today in his Hashmani criminal trial. The infamous Access Hollywood tape is not allowed in Trump's Hashmani trial, but jurors are hearing about it from his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, who said he thought it would be catastrophic coming out ahead of the 2016 election. Jurors seemingly looked on with wrapped attention. Cohen then testifying about how after that, Stormy Daniels was the next big thing. She's the woman who said she had a sexual encounter with Trump which she denies. Cohen told jurors Trump's words were "total disaster for the campaign. Women will hate me. Guys think it's cool" and that he wasn't thinking about his wife Melania when he wanted the story killed. It was all about the campaign. Prosecutors showed jurors $130,000 in payments made to Daniels' bike, Cohen to stay quiet. They say Trump falsified business records to pay that money back. Trump denies falsifying records. At court at Manhattan, I'm Julie Walker. Officials say the suspect in the shooting death of an Ohio police officer has been found dead after a standoff. At a news conference, Euclid police chief Scott Meyer says the officer killed was named Jacob Durbin. "His kind heart and enormous smile were infectious. The world was a better place with him in it and he will be desperately missed." That audio is courtesy of WEWS. This is AP News. Floods devastate northern Afghanistan. The World Food Programme says flash floods from unusually high seasonal rains in Afghanistan have killed more than 300 people and destroyed over 1,000 houses. Videos posted on social media showed the scale of the flooding and dozens of people gathering at a hospital in Balan looking for loved ones. Zabidula Mujahid, the chief spokesman for the Taliban government, posted on the social media platform X that hundreds have succumbed to these calamitous floods while a substantial number have sustained injuries. The ruler Khan, from a flood-affected family in Balban, tells the AP it was a dreadful flood. Very dreadful. It took all my belongings, nothing has been left. The floods hit as Afghanistan is still reading from a string of earthquakes. I'm Charles Dilitesma. "I'm Hayab Andrani, AP News." When you need to work quickly and confidently, you need Grammarly.
