[MUSIC] Hey, he news. I'm here for Jwannee. Donald Trump in his one-time lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, faced off at the Trump-Hushmani trial in New York. Donald Trump sat at the defense table, mainly keeping his eyes shut as his former lawyer, now one of the prosecution's star witnesses. Michael Cohen told jurors he would lie for Trump. Cohen said Trump had no email, because his old boss said too many people went down that way. Cohen told jurors part of his job was making sure positive stories ran about Trump and negative ones, like a love child and an alleged affair with Playboy model Karen McDougall never ran. The jury was shown written agreements with the national enquirer, showing how the stories were bought but never published. And Cohen told jurors Trump was not just aware of it all, but willing to pay for it. Trump led not guilty to charges of falsifying business records to cover Hushmani payments. At Criminal Court in Manhattan, Julie Walker, New York. Senator Bob Menendez is accused of accepting bribes to help three New Jersey businessmen. Here's former federal prosecutor Niyama Ramani. - The prosecution is gonna prove a trial that Menendez had hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and gold bars in his closet. And they're also gonna present evidence of a cooperator who's gonna testify that he met with Menendez and his wife Nadine and provided them money in exchange for influence. - A Chinese electric vehicle called the Seagull poses a big threat to the U.S. auto industry. In an AP interview, care soft global president Terry Wichowski says the Seagull is a clarion call for the American auto industry. - It's an immediate threat to our European customers. AP correspondent Rita Foley reports on trouble involving spiders. - Lorenzo Prendini is an expert on spiders at the American Museum of Natural History based in New York, but he was stopped at the airport in Istanbul by police, accused of trying to smuggle spider and scorpion samples out of Turkey, according to media reports. Video shows officers searching hand luggage and removing plastic bags that appear to be packed with dead spiders and scorpions. Prendini tells the Associated Press the police disregarded the permits he has from the Turkish government and instead relied on the testimony of somebody who has a conflict of interest, he said. The museum's website lists Prendini as the curator of its spiders, scorpions, centipede, and millipede collections. It says his research has taken him to more than 30 countries.
