[MUSIC PLAYING] Better strap yourself in. It's time for the Howie Car Show. He is an admitted purger. He is an admitted liar. Just remember, it's not a lie. If you believe in me, then I have to pose, Michael Cohen. I have met with him a number of times to prepare him. Yes, I'm a changed man now. And it's all because of pathological liars anonymous. Why, I even have my picture on the cover of Newsweek magazine. Yeah, every day. Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. Just journey, Alvin Bragg was watching from the spectator section on the prosecutor's side of the room after being publicly called Fat Alvin. Hey, hey, hey, hey. All Trump said, he could not call former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Well, well, if it isn't a junk food tween. A quote, fat pick. You cannot call him a fat pick, because you're not allowed to use the fat word. You know, you can use almost any word, but you can't use the fat word. Rump swabs, hacks, and moon bounce beware. It's-- [MUSIC PLAYING] Howie Carr. Tomorrow night in the town of Norfolk, they're having their annual town meeting. And they've certainly got a lot to talk about if they were allowed to talk about it. And that's the fact that the old Bay State Correctional Center, the prison that's been closed down for a while, is going to be repurposed, as they say, into a migrant center. 450 illegal aliens are going to be put into the old prison. And it's going to have quite an impact on the schools, including a regional school, King Phillip's High. And it's also going to have an impact on police fire. The prison is right on the Walpole line. It's just-- and they just did it. It's another fate of complete. Just announced, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's been done in town after town, after city, in the Commonwealth. And joining us now to talk about what's happening is the rep who broke the story. He got the word on Friday night, Friday night. Everybody's thinking about the weekend, and they dropped this big bombshell. Representative Marcus Vaughn, he's the freshman rep from Norfolk. Thanks for being with us, Representative Vaughn. Thank you, Howie. Thanks for having me tonight. What's the situation now? I talked to you earlier today, and you said you hadn't heard since they dropped the bad news on you on Friday night. You hadn't heard from them again. Have they finally gotten in touch with you yet? Yes, so finally we've broken through to the executive office of housing and livable communities in the governor's office. So we are supposed to have a call with their office. At some point tomorrow afternoon, which we're still trying to navigate because we are in formal session, both tomorrow and on Thursday. So yeah, hopefully we'll have some more answers to a lot of the questions that we are seeking at the moment. We got a call last night from a guy, one of your constituents. And he said everybody wants to talk about this at the town meeting tomorrow night, but the moderator says he's not gonna put it on the agenda. I mean, this is the overwhelming issue in the town right now in the whole area, isn't it? Yeah, most certainly is. I mean, the influx of, you know, communications, both emails, direct messages on social media, phone calls to our office that my legislative aid and I have received over the last 72 hours. I mean, it's been overwhelming with the displeasure and lack of information that's been provided thus far. And obviously, I put out, you know, all the information that I have to date, but you can only, you know, imagine the level of frustration that we have, not only in Norfolk, but the surrounding towns that are gonna be adversely affected because of this. Right, 'cause you're in the King Phillip, middle and high schools. Those are regional high schools in middle schools. So there are two other communities that are gonna be affected in that regard, right? Which one are they, the two other? Yeah, yeah, and those two other communities, even adding on Walpole, just for shared services, Walpole, but it's Norfolk as well. So, yeah, Norfolk has, you know, H.L. of Day School and Freeman Kennedy Elementary Schools in town, but we also have shared resources as far as a regional school district between Norfolk, Rentham and Plainville, where we have our middle school in Norfolk, and our high school in Rentham, which all three towns send our children to. So, you know, about four towns that will be affected because of this, in some form or another. And so, what is the rationale behind just dumping this on a community? I mean, did they give you any warning, or was this just out of the blue on Friday night? There was no warning, and, you know, I think all of us can attest to the fact that, you know, this migrant crisis, you know, it's been out of hand for quite some time. I mean, I don't think anyone could have imagined that the administration was even contemplating utilizing one of these state-owned facilities, never mind be it a prison that has been out of commission since 2015. So, this was completely thrust on us, and as you mentioned before, you know, Friday night, going into the weekend, we had no prior warning, and we're only given the information that we put out to the public. - Amazing, and then they didn't put out any releases, either, did they? I mean, they just left it to you to be the bearer of bad tidings. - Yeah, so that is another surprising thing, which I haven't even, you know, I haven't even really thought about in the last 24 hours is, you know, Friday night, I was told by the person that, you know, debriefed myself in my legislative aid, that there would be a formal press release or communication sent out to everyone, either over the weekend or on Monday, and still, we have not seen anything from the governor or her administration. So, yeah, we're sitting here, you know, Tuesday night now with, you know, town meeting, annual town meeting about to occur tomorrow night, and we still don't have the answers that we've been looking for. - So, you told me earlier today the select board is playing a meeting, just to at least let people sort of vent their frustrations here, and sort of try to come up with some kind of plan of action. Is that still on for tomorrow, and where's that gonna be? - Yeah, yeah, so yeah, I really appreciate that, because obviously, you know, in Norfolk, they had their schedule before this was even dumped on us, they had their scheduled annual town meeting, you know, for tomorrow night, starting at seven. We've been told that this issue would not be taken up for public comment during that time frame. - Ridiculous. - You know, to the, yeah, to the schedule warrants on the agenda, so really appreciative of the select board chair, Jim Lehan in Norfolk, for calling attention to this, and they had a previously scheduled select board meeting schedule at six, I believe. I think they moved that to five o'clock, so that the town people can go in, attend that, and voice their concern for what's going on. So they are at least doing that public comment section before town meeting tomorrow night at five, and you can go straight to the town of Norfolk website. - Find out where, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Yeah, so that's, if you're concerned, just check out the website for the town, and you can find out where it is, and all that stuff, and when to be there, et cetera, et cetera. Tell us about what this is gonna do to the schools. I mean, that's really, I mean, it affects everything, like you said in your letter, that went out, you know, it affects the first responders, but it also affects the schools. What does it do to the schools, representative Mark as well? - I mean, yeah, so I mean, the governor and our democratic super majority, they've effectively steamrolled, you know, this municipality and other municipalities who accommodate migrants, I mean, North Fork right now, they absolutely lack the capacity to manage this influx. North Fork only has a population of about 11,000 constituents, and the town and its schools, we currently serve, I think it's a little over 1,000 students at the two elementary schools, and they simply can't withstand the addition of potentially, you know, a couple hundred students without being completely overwhelmed. It's absolutely gonna compromise the quality of education for our children, and, you know, we empathize with migrants here in Massachusetts, but it's just unjust to demand that our children sacrifice their education for a cause that they played absolutely no role in creating. - Yeah, and I've been dealing with people who were involved in this in other towns, and they say that the teachers have gotten frustrated, and they try to move to different communities, different school systems, where they're not overwhelmed by these influxes of illegal aliens, and so I would assume the same thing's gonna happen to Norfolk and to King Phillips. - Yeah, yeah, I mean, I haven't really seen that with the migrants that, you know, are in Plainville, the nearby Plainville, my wife as a teacher in Foxborough, at the middle school there, and, you know, they have migrants, you know, it is certainly strenuous on our teachers, and I, you know, feel for them, and, you know, parents and people in the community absolutely need to support our teachers more than ever in situations like this, because, you know, they're already dealing with so much on their plates, and to have this, you know, this fall on their laps, and have to kind of shift gears as far as managing the classroom with additional students that have, you know, specific, you know, special needs and services that they're gonna have to have, it's going to be a big challenge on everyone involved. - And you know, the other thing too is, I mean, I know what happened with the old probate courthouse in East Cambridge. I mean, that place had been closed for 10 years, but half of the building was still open, and they had the retrofit, everything, and I mean, this place had been closed down for almost 10 years. What about all the, you know, the plumbing? What about all the getting it up to fire code, all this stuff, they're gonna do this in like a month? Oh, I thought the liberals were concerned about the environmental issues and being up to code and asbestos and all this stuff. Now they're just gonna throw them into this prison. - Yeah, it's certainly not a, what will you call an efficient, efficiently run building or two buildings. I actually just took it upon myself to drop by yesterday and visit our, you know, correctional officers on site. They were kind enough to take me through a tour because I had never been to that site. I've only been to three of our active prisons, but this is actually, you know, it's not an active prison, but it's a storage for the transportation unit of prisoners. You know, they have $5 million worth of assets sitting there right in the parking lot. You know, they have bar, you know, three different levels of barbed water fence around the property, which, you know, I was surprised driving up to the facility yesterday where I would have imagined with the timeframe that they've given us of mid June that there would be contractors there already, you know, dealing with some of these issues and as far as the Bob Liar and cleaning out the facility and that I did not see any personnel there handling that. So it'll be very interesting, you know, to what extent they are going to get this building ready because it's certainly not ready for anyone, you know, needing to live there. - Oh, boy. Well, listen, I, you know, Representative Vaughn, I appreciate you getting it out to everybody and, you know, the word, I mean, if you hadn't gotten that letter out, nobody might've known about this even today, you know? Money just just snuck up on everybody. They were keeping it under their hats. - Yeah, yeah, it's very disappointing. Yeah, I don't know with the lack of communication, you know, why that is on this administrator side. But again, we're pushing, you know, from our office, myself and my legislative aid and, you know, our partners from North Fork, you know, Senator Rouse as far as, you know, getting information disseminated to the public as quickly as we can. - All right, Representative Marcus Vaughn from Norfolk. Thanks for being with us and keep us informed about what happens. But you do have a meeting finally scheduled with the ironically titled Executive Office of Liveable Communities. - Yeah, yeah. - All right, okay, so you got to-- - And I will add, and I will add one thing. - Sure. - So we've gone ahead and set up a sub-site on my website. It's just repvon.com. You'll see the pop-up page, right, when you go on and constituents in the towns that I mentioned, North Fork, Ransom, Plainville, Walpole, they can submit any of their questions and we're gonna do our best to get those questions answered and we'll post those on the website. We'll post it on all of our mediums as well so that we get the information out. - We'll tweet out a link to repvon.com. Thanks a lot, Representative Vaughn. We'll be in touch with you as time goes on. 844-542-42, but lead paint. - Lead paint? What are the results thus far? - Today's poll question, which you can vote in at HowieCarShow.com, is which group does Biden speak most condescendingly to? Catholics, Jews, Blacks, Latinx, or union members. - All of the above is not an option. So I'm going with the union members. As a member of GAS, as he would put it, go ahead. - 9% say union members, 58% say Blacks, 18% for Catholics, 12% for Jews, and only 3% for Latinx. - People have just forgotten what he said. The women don't want to get vaccinated 'cause they'll get deported. 'Cause you know, everyone who's of Hispanic descent is here illegally, right? According to Joe, that was the inference of what he said. 404 has the environmental impact study be scheduled yet in Norfolk. Yeah, you know, you want to put an addition onto your garage? You want to build a pool, an in-ground pool? You're going to have to jump through so many hoops. They're bringing in a 450 people in a month. Tomorrow is the 15th of May. They're supposed to be in on June 15th. And none of this, none of it matters. Hey, hey, they're going to be great for the community, right? Great for the community. 844, 542, 42, November can't come soon enough. 508 says, yeah, I know. Unfortunately, you know, she's still going to be the governor. But again, what does she care? What does she care? She's on her way to Rome. She's just trying to figure out, is she going to order the veal parm or the chicken marm tonight? What kind of pasta is she going to get to go with it? Right? The angel here pasta or the whatever, you know what I mean. 844, 542, 42. And she's such a devout Catholic, her and Mayor Wu. They're going to, boy, they're going to really appreciate meeting the Pope. 844, 542, 42. We'll take your calls. We come back. Everybody, hang on. We'll be right back on how we card you. 844, 542, 42. 544, 542, 43. 944, 542, 43. 744, 542, 43. Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. Just a quick question. You remember in the 80s right when Nancy Reagan had the campaign that said just say no? Correct. Yes. What is happening where people, whether they're in state governments or overseeing committees or town halls or school systems or whatever? Why don't people like being together and say no? No. And you know, why is Laura Yilly even in office? Isn't there something where if she's really messing this state up? People can have a recall on Sunday. I don't think you can have a recall on a governor. I've never heard of any. I mean, I think some states like California remember they recalled Great Davis 20 years ago and put in Schwarzenegger. But, you know, we don't have that mechanism here in the Commonwealth. So, I mean, we're stuck with her unless she decides to move on. I mean, people tell me, Kathy, she doesn't really, you know, she doesn't have that much interest in what's going on. I mean, this is a, you know, I know it's Norfolk. It's a small town. It's a, it's, but it's not an obscure region. It's part of the state and this, you know, the impact spills into all these other communities. And she can't even, she can't even be bothered to put out a press release. Let, let alone go to, let alone go to the community. She doesn't care. I want to say here is why not have people not show up to their job and go on strike. I mean, isn't that something anybody can do and say, listen, no, we don't want this. You're, you're putting this on us. We don't want this period. Yeah. I, I, you know, I mean, everybody's got to make a living. That's the thing. I mean, we, you know, we, American citizens, we have to be adults. We have to, you know, assume responsibility. They, these, these people they're bringing in don't and they have no intention of a, they're, they're behaving very badly in, in, in large measure or they're just, or they, you know, they're unskilled. Some of them are trying to make their, their own way. But, you know, this is a tough state. Look at the housing costs. They even, even if they get a job, they're still going to be, they're still going to be wards of the state in, in one way or another. This is insanity to be bringing people in who can't support themselves. Thanks for the call, Kathy. 844-542-42. I want to play a couple of these sound cuts. Nancy Pelosi was in, some people have already, must have heard this, some of the VIPs, the way they're laughing. She was in Oxford. And, and I, she was, she was handled with ease by this, by, by this British guy. And, but she, I didn't know how bad she, she had spoken until I actually, the Wall Street Journal transcribed it today and put it into the paper. You got to hear this. I mean, noncompassmentous? I mean, it's, it's apparently contagious. It's, it's not just Joe Biden anymore. Cut one. We've seen demagogues come down the pike, destroy the press. What is, what is, what is the, what do the Republicans say? Fake news. So they're diminishing that in the eyes of these poor souls who are looking for some answers. We've given them to them, but they're blocked by some of their views on guns. They have the three G's, guns, gays, God. That would be a woman's right to choose. And, and the cultural issues cloud some of their reception, reception of an argument that really is in their interest. I don't agree with you that people, we don't accuse people of not knowing what they're doing. They know what they're not, their personal interest is. We respect that, but the fact is that using ethno, whether it's people different from me, nationalism, populism is a very dangerous threat to democracy. Using ethno. Is ethno anything like apple alcohol? Using ethno. And I, I'm so old, I can remember when populism was a good thing, right? Until Donald Trump was, they decided Donald Trump was a populist. And that he didn't want globalism. 508 says to a battle of wit, Nancy comes unarmed. That's an old bulger line, but it's, it's appropriate here. Populism is now a bad thing. All right, this is the place kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Super Bowl champions Harrison Butler. I think he's, I think he's probably the best place kicker in the league. He's, he's right up there if he's not number one. And apparently I didn't know this, but he's a, he's a, he's a good Catholic. He's a devout, he's not a devout Catholic in the Nancy Pelosi Joe Biden sense. This guy is, is the real thing. He, he, he really believes it. And so he was speaking at a Catholic college commencement the other day. And this is, this is what he had to say, cut to. Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I'm sure to many people, it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice. He is not alone. From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common. They are Catholic. This is an important reminder that being Catholic alone doesn't cut it. These are the sorts of things we are told in polite society to not bring up. You know, the difficult and unpleasant things. But if we are going to be men and women for this time in history, we need to stop pretending that the Church of Nice is a winning proposition. Well, it takes stones to say something like that if you are in the NFL and you are looking at, I mean again, he is a good enough kicker. I don't think he is going to lose his job or anything, but endorsement deals. I mean, the people that are making those decisions about who they are going to hire, these are the same people who thought hiring Dylan Mulvaney was a good idea for Bud Light. Right. Who thought that those transgender bathing suits were a good idea to put at the front of every Tar J in America? You know, I mean, they are not going to like that, what he has to say. He is my new favorite kicker in the NFL. Not that I really think a lot about place kickers in the NFL. 844-542-42 Josiah, you are next with Howie Carr. Go ahead Josiah. Hi, Howie. Hi. Hey, listen, we are talking about the school thing and dumping aliens into school systems and towns and nothing is happening about it. I would suggest that the town people like the Continental Congress get together and say, we are going to withhold our property taxes if this is allowed. I mean, you need two or three hundred of them. You can't prosecute everybody, right? And if they get together and do that, I think they might salvage their town. Yeah, you know, there is a group, even at a place like Norfolk, which is a Republican-leaning town. Marcus Vaughn is a Republican. He succeeded another Republican who had the seat for many years. But still, you know, like the town moderator says, we are not going to discuss it. That is the guy who has the gavel for the meeting. He controls the gavel tomorrow night. He says, we are not going to discuss this. I mean, how can you not discuss it? So, I mean, they are getting undercut by their own people, Josiah. Town moderator is an elected position. How could you possibly be an elected official of that town and not want to let people talk about that in a public forum? I don't know. I guess, you know, you could say that. But, you know, it wasn't Shays Rebellion about not paying taxes. Look what happened. They brought in the regular army and shut it down, right? That was in the early years of the constitutional republic. Well, I mean, you know, as you know, we're getting to the point where its country is really going downhill rapidly. It is. You've got to just stand up. I mean, their voice to me in town is getting enough people and say, we're not paying our school tax copy taxes. And, you know, they can't arrest you all. It's going to take forever. And I mean, you just got to fight for us. Yeah. You know, I mean, most people, I think most people make the decision. I'm just out of here. You know, I mean, I'm going to New Hampshire. I'm going to Florida. I'm going to Tennessee. I just, you know, I can't, I can't take it anymore. That's what they're saying. Thanks for the call, Josiah. 844-542-802 says if Harrison Butker was in the NBA, he'd have been canceled already. Another 508, a couple more hundred like that kicker and I may come back to the NFL. I think there are some conservatives in the NFL. You know, look at who's the, who's the wide receiver for the for the dolphins. The guy that was, I forget his name. I mean, he's not the greatest character in the world, but he played, I think he played for the Chiefs and he was going to become a free agent. The Jets thought they were going to sign him. And they, they, and then someone said, Hey, if you looked at what the taxes are in New Jersey, where you're going to be living as opposed to the taxes in Florida. And he looked at it for about two seconds and said, You know what? I think I look good in that green, that, that light green. I always like dolphins. Those sea creatures. So, you know, I think there's a lot of them, you know, even if they, even if they want to keep their mouth shut, just to, you know, not to, not to offend any of the woksters on ESPN or wherever. They, they, they will make the right decision when it comes to their own pocketbooks. 844-542-42. Sheldon, you're next with highway car. Go ahead, Sheldon. Hey, I think that people like Governor Abbott and the Panthers have proven their point by sending illegals to Martha's Vineyard Chicago here, but I don't think we're ever going to make a difference by keep sending them up here. We have to send them all to Washington DC. If we overpopulate Washington with all of these illegals, they'll get, they'll wake up because they'll have to do something with them. But we're spreading them out across the country and all it's doing is irritating small towns like Norfolk. Yeah, but, you know, I don't you think if it really gets out of control, they're just going to ship them out of DC? Well, I think it'll put more of a spotlight on it. Right now, only the people around Boston or Massachusetts know what's going on in Norfolk, but if they're all in one place, if they're all in Washington DC, it'll wake people up a little bit more than right now because the only people that are being affected right now are people locally. It's not a national thing. I mean, it's certainly like in Chicago, there was the Chicago Tribune, a really rotten paper nowadays, did a survey and who was committing the crimes. And I think that the illegal aliens from Venezuela now make up 1% of the population, which is pretty shocking in and of itself, but it's even more shocking is that 1% of the population of illegal Venezuelans in Chicago commit 11% of the violent crimes, 11%. I mean, are you kidding me? I mean, it's insane. And a lot of those were shipped up by Governor Abbott from Texas. And you just, I mean, you just can't allow Texas to be destroyed or any of these other border states to be destroyed. We're all border states now. Thanks for the call, Sheldon. I'm Howie Carr. The Howie Carr Show. The Howie Carr Show is back. I agree. Kill is the guy who plays, you played for the Chiefs. And then he was a free agent. He was, I think he's one of the fastest wide receivers in the league. And he, he was going to go with the Jets. And then someone explained to him the differences in state tax loss. He was a quick study. And I sign with the dolphins. 508 says, Healy is aiming to run for the Senate in 2026 for Marquis seat. She needs to go hard left to win the Dem Primary. She doesn't care. This is all about running for that seat. Expect more far left stuff later this year in 2025. Yeah, I've been told by people who know her at the state house. We're in politics. She she has next to no interest in state government. You know, but on the other hand, hasn't Marquis said he's going to run for reelection? I thought he had. I mean, I didn't think he could get reelected in 2020 against Joe Kennedy, but Joe Kennedy ran a pathetic campaign. It would be harder for him to get reelected against her than it was to defeat Joe, Joe, Joe Kennedy. So I, it's, it's just a disaster. What she's doing and the fact that she doesn't seem to give a damn is even more more concerning. So if you heard at least at least the ones that the people here, the illegals here haven't made the kind of same demands that they've made in Denver. You hear about this? What's going on in Denver? There's a, there've been a 40,000 have come into have come into the mile high city, 40,000. Now one encampment of migrants, migrants, illegals is demanding that the mayor, Mike Johnston, capitulate to a list of eye popping requests before they agree to move into the city shelters. Right now they're under a bridge, a union Pacific bridge. And so they're begging them to come inside. What they want, their 13 non-negotiable demands include unlimited access to showers and access to quote their own food with fresh culturally appropriate ingredients. Provided by the city instead of pre-made meals, unquote, they also want housing assistance, quote, connection to employment support. I'm going to guess there's not going to be a real line to get a connection to employment support. A free immigration lawyer. Is there any other kind of lawyer of any sort for an illegal alien rather than a free one? Privacy within the shelter. So if you join the military, do you get privacy during basic training? I don't think you do, but the illegal aliens want privacy. Plus a guarantee of, quote, no sheriff sleeping inside and monitoring 24/7 in the shelter, as the migrants, quote, are not criminals and won't be treated as such.
