AP News, I'm Phayapunzwani. In New York appeals court upholds former President Donald Trump's gag order, AP correspondent Julie Walker reports. A New York appellate court denies and dismisses Donald Trump's appeal of his gag order in his hush money criminal trial, finding that Judge Juan Mershon properly determined that Trump's public statements posed a significant threat to the integrity of the testimony of witnesses before court Trump had this to say. Trump's lawyers argued the gag order is an unconstitutional curve on the presumptive Republican nominees free speech rights. In its ruling a five judge panel of the intermediate appeals court noted Trump wasn't claiming that the gag order had infringed on his right to a fair trial. At Court in Manhattan, Julie Walker. Federal grants can be a huge boost for small businesses and some federal agencies do better at giving grants to small businesses than others. The Small Business Administration released its annual scorecard measuring how well federal agencies meet their small business contracting goals each year. Overall, the federal government has a goal to award 23% of contracts to small businesses. In fiscal 2023, 28.4% were awarded to small businesses, amounting to $178.6 billion. It's the third year of exceeding the goal, according to the SBA. The SBA said contracts support over a million jobs in industries like manufacturing, construction and technology. 10 federal agencies received an A+ grade on the annual scorecard, including the SBA, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and others.
