A.P. News, I'm Angelani. Eight people are dead, and at least 40 people are injured after a farm worker's bus overturned in central Florida. Ashley Smith is a Marion County resident, and mentioned driving in the area has gotten congested. "I moved out here five years ago, and the traffic has been extremely worse since moving out this way." A.P. Walker reports Michael Cohen will face a bruising cross-examination. Trump came to court for his hush money trial flanked by House Speaker Mike Johnson, along with several other high-profile Republicans, insisting he did nothing wrong. "There was no crime, everybody said there's no crime, but I've been here for almost four weeks." And that the case is political. "It's a scam, it's election interference." Trump's former lawyer and fixer giving testimony, linking him to all aspects of a hush money scheme that prosecutors say was aimed at stifling stories threatening his 2016 campaign. Israeli forces are also battling Hamas militants in northern Gaza. The army's evacuation orders issued on Saturday have displaced around 100 people so far. U.N. Deputy spokesman Farhan Haq told reporters on Monday, "Palestinian officials say Israeli strikes in central Gaza have killed at least 12 people overnight and into Tuesday. I'm Charles D'Ladesma." This is A.P. News. The Chinese government is accusing the U.S. of bullying as new tariffs are slapped on Chinese products. President Biden is adding detentions with Beijing, hiking tariffs on items made in China, including electric vehicles, advanced solar cells, medical equipment, steel and aluminum. White House officials say the tariffs will help thwart China's efforts to dominate the market for emerging technologies. "The president, this entire administration, has been concerned about unfair practices by the PRC." National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. One point of U.S. concern, there aren't a lot of Chinese EVs on the market in the U.S. right now, but officials worried the vehicles could start flooding the U.S. market. Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has threatened broad 10% tariffs against all imports from rivals and allies alike. "They're eating our lunch, so they have to do it on much more than electric vehicles." He tells supporters the U.S. is falling behind China by not betting on oil to keep powering the economy.
