President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have agreed to a pair of general election debates. These would be hosted by individual media partners, CNN on June 27th, and then ABC on September 10th. Those are the earliest general election presidential debates ever held in this country. And in fact, the general one will be before either of them are officially their party's nominee. The prosecution's final witness returns to the stand today, and Donald Trump's Hush Money trial, Michael Cohen. He's put the former president right at the heart of the alleged Hush Money scheme. Donald Trump denies doing anything wrong. No injuries reported after a barge slammed into a bridge pillar in Galveston, Texas, spilling oil into waters near busy shipping channels. A stretch of the waterway was shut down so crews could clean up the spill. The US military's got an update this morning on that Gaza Strip Pier project. The AP's Donna Warder has this. The US military has finished installing a floating pier that will be used to ferry aid into Gaza. The maritime route is designed to increase the amount of aid getting into the Gaza Strip. Although aid agencies say that land-based deliveries are far cheaper and more sustainable. US officials say that American troops will not be setting foot in Gaza. Donna Warder, Washington. Now to that attempt to kill Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Ficco. He was shot several times yesterday and is now in serious but stable condition, a suspect in custody. Officials say the suspect's motive was political, but no details yet. This is AP News.
