new news. - AP News, I'm Jackie Quinn, a wild morning for PGA contender Scotty Scheffler, who was arrested and briefly jailed for allegedly dragging a police officer directing traffic away from a fatal crash in Louisville, the AP's Doug Ferguson with details. - Scotty Scheffer, the master's champion, he was arrested this morning and taken to jail, involving an accident in which he had nothing to do with. He was on his way to the Gulf Forest, there'd been a pedestrian struck by a bus about an hour earlier and traffic was backed up for a mile, loads of police cars out, and Scotty tried to drive around to get into the entrance when he was told to stop, kept going, police officer ran after the car and arrested him. And so we have the master's champion and handcuffs in a few hours before he's supposed to play the PGA championship. - Scheffler's lawyer says it was a misunderstanding. Scheffler was able to make his second round tea time this morning. - The police report says the officer suffered some injuries. The top official for Harris County, Texas, says it could be weeks before powers restored to residents in the Houston area following devastating storms last night. County judge, Lina Hidalgo, on KTRK. - It's gonna be weeks and not days. At peak, we had 930,000 customers in center point service region without power. - At least four deaths are reported. - The Israeli military says it has found the bodies of three Israelis who were taken by Hamas during the October 7th attack at a music festival. It says all three were killed that day, including 22-year-old Shawnee Lough, a young woman whose body had been shoved onto the bed of a pickup truck and was shown widely around the world. In Arizona, Trump supporter Attorney John Eastman has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy fraud and forgery charges. He's accused of trying to overturn Trump's election defeat in 2020. This is AP News. The US military peer is now bringing aid supplies into Gaza. - The Israeli military says dozens of Israeli protesters have attacked a truck in the occupied West Bank, beating its driver and setting it on fire in an apparent attempt to prevent resources from reaching Gaza. The military ads, soldiers had arrived out of the scene and tried to separate the attackers from the driver, adding the protesters then attacked the soldiers, lightly wounded in two officers and a soldier. According to Israeli media, the truck was carrying ordinary commercial goods, not aid for Gaza.
