8P News. I'm Jackie Quinn. In Kentucky, the world's top golfer, Scotty Sheffler, has teed off at the PGA Championship. It comes hours after he was arrested and taken to jail for a traffic incident in which a police officer was injured. Our Rita Foley reports. Masters Champion Scotty Sheffler was arrested by Louisville, Kentucky police this morning on his way to the PGA Championship. ESPN says he did not follow police orders while in a traffic jam. He's going to jail and it ain't nothing you can do about. This was after a pedestrian was struck and killed, hit by a bus while crossing the road. The police report says a detective had to be hospitalized after being dragged by Sheffler's vehicle. Severe thunderstorms hit southeastern Texas for the second time this month. At least four people were killed. Houston Fire Chief San Peña on KTRK says three of the deaths were from falling trees. Falling trees caused two of the fatalities. One was a crane accident as well that that was blown over by the by the wind of the strong winds. Nearly one million customers have no power in the Houston area. Flood waters and warnings are still up from Texas to central Alabama. French police have shot and killed a man armed with a knife and a metal bar suspected of setting a fire that damaged a synagogue in the Normandy region. This is this situation in France.
