And I'm just like-- People really thought that was a thing. I've gotten a couple people saying that. I'm like, you guys. You guys, I haven't talked to Will since he left the podcast. I feel like there are pictures of us, places together. There's pictures, there's videos, there's-- I don't know. I had just talked to him for an hour on the phone the night before that, which made it really extra funny. And I was like-- Yeah, I like-- It's funny out here. I literally just talked to him for like three hours yesterday. Bits, man, you guys. Look, sometimes we just throw out bits. And I feel like they're just bits for me and us. And sometimes people latch on to them and think they're real. Not real at all. Talk to Will all the time. Legit on the daily basis. So funny story. I think I can tell this story now because we're far enough away from it. This idea that he's just vanished from our lives. Nobody talks to him anymore. It's just insane. The very first episode we did was just the two of us. I remember he's in the screen because we didn't know how to do all of the stream yard stuff. And so he ran us through how to do the stream yard stuff the first time we ran on our own. And so he's sitting there backstage watching the first maybe 10 minutes of the podcast. And so that is the episode where I'm trying to cue it. It's not seamless like it is now, where all right, well, cue the Grap City theme song, we're on. And so at the time, I was sitting there pressing a button and trying to move our definition off screen and hit the intro. And I was like, why won't this work? And you can see Will's face awkwardly sitting there like, you have to press this button now. It's funny because like on a stream yard, you could see like who's in the stream, like on the bottom of it. So he's like sitting down there, like watching Phil, like trying to figure it out. And like knowing he knows what to do is always so funny when he can't control it. And he's just made it extra funny. It just said they're looking like, uh, no, pressing that so good. Shout out to the homeboy. Just a very funny joke to start the day. But yeah, very I was on the road a lot this week, Phillip Lindsay. I started out right after the pod last Saturday on my way to Ontario, California to catch new Japan resurgence with my oldest wrestling friends who I've known since I was 12 years old. And so that made it extra great. And we'll definitely get into resurgence here in a little bit. And then I traveled down to Bakersfield to see my mom for Mother's Day and kicked it down there for a little bit. And then I came back to Oakland, a lot of driving. I don't understand how wrestlers do it on a weekly on a daily. It's like, you know, I commend you guys for getting like, I didn't get slammed any of that time and just continuing on to the next stop is insane. But yeah, it's been a pretty fun and interesting week. I had a great time out there. How's everything been with you this this week? My mom is so funny. She watches more basketball than I do. Like the whole time I was there, basketball was on the whole time. I was like, this lady really does watch a lot of basketball. She got behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for some reason. Like she just been riding with them for this playoff season. So I thought that was hella funny because they were losing when I was there and they have came back, spits then. But it was some some very interesting talk over there. Yeah, basketball has been a lot of fun, fun playoff series. All those people that thought Denver was cooked after the first two games. That takes the night games. Well, came back and won three games straight. Play off Murray once again, showed up to tell y'all to stop playing with his name. Yeah, no, he walked in that game with a velour suit with the tank top underneath and some slip ons. I was like, oh, no, he's about to cook and he cooked. No, man. He he wasn't trying to hear no more slander about life's game bros from Canada, man. He was like, it's on me. I have to stop this for I'm putting the game on my back. Yeah, now I the game the other night was not as fun because it was a blowout. It wasn't really like when that happens, but you set us up for a game seven. I'm really excited for that Sunday got two game sevens on Sunday. We should be exciting night of basketball in afternoon. I'm not as excited about the impending end of inside the NBA on TNT, which seems like it's coming. I just the way the tone of the show recently, you can see in some of the jokes that Chuck is making that the writing's on the wall. So yeah, not looking forward to that because I just can't imagine basketball without it. aforementioned William. We were talking other night and he was talking about how a lot of people their experience with basketball, you grew up in the NBA on NBC era or you grew up in a TNT era. And for most of the bronze fans, you grew up in this era and for most of the Jordan fans like myself in the NBA or NBC. I mean, the starter of the Kobe run as well, like Kobe and Shaq's last two championships or first two championships, those were both on NBC as well. Every time I think of NBC, I think of either Jordan or I ever since step in over Tyron Lou. Yeah, so there's some nostalgia going back to NBC, but also I don't want to lose this squad, who's the best studio show in the entire industry, in the entire world, like in any industry. Any sport, any television program, anything, they are the greatest and that's the most unfortunate thing. It's kind of ironic or whatever the word you want to use that they're going back to NBC, but it's like man, TNT has been such synonymous with NBA for so long, like Shaq in a fool, like there's so many things that are like connected to those guys, like just them racing against Ernie to get to the, I mean, them racing against Kenny to get to the big screen, like all the incredible things that have happened there. Shaq and Chuck, random battles, random friendships, random things, like you can't replicate that, man. Yeah, I don't know what Kenny's doing with that beard, bro, but you got to knock it off, dog. Whatever that is, like you trying to like color it in in certain spots, it don't look good, bro. Just look, Phil, the game is the game at this point. You go to Turkey, you get your hairline done, you get you a beard and you just, you know, make sure it's the Beijing don't spread when it's too hot somewhere. I saw there was a coach, maybe a college football coach is Beijing was running. I was like, you got to make sure you're Beijing don't run. If you guys have not, I'm only going to recommend one thing today. Listen to the Ma Kami album. It's the hip-hop album of the year by far for me. Ma Kami is an enigma. Like I come on here and talk about rappers all the time and like all of them are great. This guy is like way different. Like it's unexplainable. You just have to like hear it. It's like I've been thinking about it for the whole day. Like how do I even define this guy? Like it's like if Basquiat didn't do graffiti and art and he wrapped. That's like the only way I could define it. Like think of like if you were like what would Basquiat be as a rapper? Smart Kami. Like he thinks of beats and rapping and cadence and tempo way different than anybody else. Like if him and I looked at a beat it'd be like I'd be like I'm gonna make Donald's Happy Meal and he's like a five-star Michelin meal and it's like we're both rappers but we're doing two totally different things. I don't know how he does it. I don't know what he does. He's like has this mystery of like he used to be an actor. He's like in the background of Hunger Games or something. There's like this crazy thing going on. He just became a rapper and just is way different than everybody else. Check out this Ma Kami album. It's called Rich Haitian. It's incredible. my friend that i've been making plans to go to Vegas with and i've decided to go to New York to go to forbidden door for my birthday so i'm just like the other day that's like having a great day like yeah vegas is gonna be great yes everything's fun like playing all the stuff Phil and i have been talking he's like i'm gonna be staying here my coming out sunday the other day he's like y'all yeah i'm about to be in new york forbidden door is lit see you later i'm like no no that's cool and then this loop a news comes out and then i watched that video last time like now loopa is like bro um but it watching it back i was like oh that's very clear where he got injured um it looked really really gnarly um yeah hope it is okay man um hopefully he's not out long but boy that looked nasty yeah i was there live and so when it happened it was like oh that looks dangerous and so he was down but i thought it was part of him selling and so one of the referees did immediately throw up the big x but i was like it could just you know i don't know it could just be an angle yeah if you if you watched it at home like i did the second he landed he started grabbing his leg i was like oh that's it looks bad yeah one of the referees ran down threw up the big x and so he's down there down like a bunch of people are around him but he still has this thing with the young bucks in the rings i'm like what the hell's going on what the hell's going on so he limps through this last little thing so i was like maybe he was just selling but he wasn't at what point he stood all the way up on it he put weight on it uh but he was still very much hunched over while it was happening which again told me that it was bad um but uh it was a solid show uh we got the the pre-show stuff um i didn't watch all the pre-show stuff i've watched the Leo versus Mustafo of course fun match what i respect out of those two guys um every time i watch Leo i'm like this guy still moves this fast it's still crazy um i honestly thought he was going to get older and like not be able to but yeah still does like he's gotten bulkier like he's bigger he's older and he still can move just the way that he can yeah watching him in person and the way that he maneuvers around the ring and the way that he springboards and and goes underneath legs and stuff is like what is this guy doing it's like he's still so unique like no wrestler has been able to replicate that like it's still just Leo rushed in that fashion and Mustafo is like he's so good it's crazy like wrestlers you see a bunch of wrestlers and like in this show it's like a lot of them are good some of them are new some of them are on spaces he's great like he knows everything he's he's in every space that he needs to be in the way that he hits his moves perfect he looks great his entrance is amazing like i don't understand how he doesn't have a huge money contract like he could be world champion somewhere definitely i thought the video package that they aired before he came out and he called new japan strong charity and thought oh that was great i thought the way that uh in and vada put it over on commentary was good as well they're a very good commentary duo as well really good yeah um but yeah the way they put it over and the way they seem so disgusted when he came out very very funny um you have to be in a bit of a conundrum don't you because one of your favorite wrestlers is now doing spooky do gimmick i don't want to talk about it but i thought we're just gonna move for i just um yeah after the match ali picked up the win and uh he picked up the win via roll-up um and then he proceeded to beat down on leo a little bit and then a light one out and uh light cut back on and uh leo was uh spitting out like some oil or some goo or some shit and uh it's uh tying back to the uh blackheart stuff he's been doing on indies and then he started like yelling out lee's name and i was just like okay this is happening cool it's uh happy birthday to my one half of the cali connection denise al-seito her least favorite gimmick in the world is lights out uh wrestler peers and so when the lights went out i was laughing about that when they came on i was like oh no they're gonna do the spooky thing and then immediately i'm thinking of jonathan gresham also feel something like they're both doing the the black goo puke throw up gimmick deal what what's going on what's in the what's in the what's in the some of my favorite black wrestlers water all of them are um listening to the fab record the the lights out nigga i don't see nobody i don't see nobody i don't see nobody leo would probably listen to that i don't think jonathan gresham will listen to that he's not listening to the the fab record by listening to that uh fab mixtape i don't think so leo probably would but not jon gresham but yeah spooky dooky um no yeah i mean if it gives us the rematch without lee i'm in for it sure um i don't know where we're going beyond that but i'm i'm in for another match with those guys because i thought this match is dope yeah and it feels like that off the backs of that they're still like selling it on social confused by it like i i don't know what that was but like they turned them to a dog like erizia tasmanian devil like what is this yeah i i was so very confused but that i was like what and i think what made it even weirder is that he was walking back and forth doing that and everybody else in the room just didn't react at all like they were just walking around like this is normal i was like nayana gonna say nothing about this like y'all didn't see this guy this guy's growling and everybody's just gonna react normally so let's just like all right let's go yeah i don't know what that was but uh the the new g o d elephant hasma and hicoleo took on tmdk uh which were just the new uh uh new japan strong tag team champions and they won so yeah now g o d is champions again i kind of thought that hicoleo might be on his way over to join his homeboy so i was like they're probably gonna lose but no they didn't they they they won this match was pretty fun though uh tmdk they're always a good tag team to see they long time veteran tag team they uh they have really great chemistry together as always uh but hicoleo and lp lp is really incredible to see live i think that he's one of the most underrated knee japan wrestlers that there are surprisingly enough the way that he because i was ready for some flips and something some excitement and there hadn't been any too much of that spot food before that and he really brought it yeah um great baby face i think that continues to be uh stroker genius on new japan part turning his baby face i initially wanted him to be the leader of bullet club after jay left and then every time i've seen him come out of the baby face i'm like no i was wrong this guy this this guy is super over yeah he really gets it he really does have that you can see when he said he's influenced by adam copeland at first i was like oh yeah but now i'm like oh yeah yeah you can see it uh yeah her cut is kind of similar at the moment right um yeah i could see it uh but yeah this match was fun i really enjoyed them as a tag team i continue to say the hicoleo is one of the most entertaining big men wrestlers and i think that they have really good chemistry together the tag team moves look great um i just wish they would figure out what they're doing with these votes like i don't know what's going on there uh the hot potato thing usually i'm like oh whatever it's fine but this is kind of a lot at this point with these two belts they got to get an established tag team because they just they haven't established those belts enough with the tag team that's how to rain to be like these things are worse than because they just keep the hot potato in between tag teams hicoleo though is one of the most improved wrestlers i think in all of wrestling when he first started i was like all right he's big he couldn't really figure out like what was his thing but he's definitely figure out what his thing is yeah i think he i think he's pulling it together man um a lot of this show for me the pacing was kind of odd like it seemed like the some of the matches were a little bit longer than they needed to be uh it just it at some points felt like this show was just dragging on and on yep um well i guess it was a solid show i thought it got better but the first half i was like all right let's get to it you guys yeah first half it was it was dragging um the women's match i thought was solid uh alan's winter versus uh stephanie biker um i really like stephanie biker i think that she's definitely a wrestler that should be on forbidden door this year i don't know if there plans for that but get this woman a challenger i don't know if it's going to be Mercedes of course coming back for the felt that was initially supposed to be hers but she should be on that card yes far as presence uh she had one of the best of the whole of all the wrestlers on this show like felt like damn she's cool who is she like if you didn't know who she was going into this after this she were like oh damn she's great uh and i thought Alex Windsor had a great strong too these women had some really good chemistry they both in their you know their heat spots really worked it in laid it in pretty well but i think mcgreen exactly what she says Stephanie needs to be on that forbidden door card because what she's done as the new japan strong champion has been strong and everything that she's done even beyond that has been really great yeah i just think she's a great wrestler i just think she needs to be on more screens she needs to be on more stages um she's fantastic um and Alex is great as well i thought she had a good showing here as well um solid match all around um the other thing that i thought about during his women's matches all of those people that keep trying to make that argument that Mercedes is not a draw buddy watching resurgence this year in comparison to the year where she debuted oh yeah night and day that crowd was rockin when she was out there this crowd never got that loud um at no point i felt like this crowd sounded like that crowd when Mercedes was out there i was in both of those both those crowds now thinking about that and yeah exactly they were night and day crowds this crowd was way different i remember going to that show last year and the show in san hose that she was on last year and being like this ain't a new japan show like it felt different the energy was way different the fans are there to like it's like a cheering like an american wrestling show and this one felt like more to what new japan has been in america of like the fans are trying to be like japanese fans and and the energies just a little bit different the crowds a little bit smaller yes very different crowds there yeah um yeah i was thinking about that multiple times watching this like anybody that's still doing uh Mercedes ain't that ain't who she say she is like it's because they confuse what a draw is filled they're like oh she's not drawing 20 000 people so she's not a draw but that's like just not how it works you know yeah i i i mean i don't want to get into people misusing wrestling terms or twitter because it happens a lot um but that's draw is definitely one of them that people misuse it um but yeah we got uh another tag team match we got los engabernables day hop on taking on uh bullet club david finlay and kinta yeah it was cool for what it was but yeah it's always cool saying kinta in person yeah look i i always enjoy seeing kinta and seeing night out in america but i can't get jiggy with david finley man just can't can't can't get jiggy with david finley you don't think you don't take finley no solid dance steps to the mib video he might honestly i can say i'm doing the well yeah he might i wouldn't put a pasta mat this point but yeah i just can't get jiggy with him he doesn't like go and watch all your dad's tapes like usually i'm like chill on your dad's tape but you haven't watched enough of your dad's tapes you don't give up like that family like energy it's like yeah you don't have the same energy as the guy that he's standing next to and you know what i mean yeah and it doesn't feel like exactly that but like you know seeing knife toe in person he's always a big pop that was cool yeah no i i i'm telling you i think every time i see gabe kid and i'm just like he should be the leader man what do you think it what why don't they see this like because every time gabe kids he doesn't have to talk he could just be in a room and you're like that guy is somebody why wouldn't you want that guy to be the leader he's the one and i fully believe someday he's going to throw a family out yeah because family don't give it up like that like that is like okay this guy's bullet club what the spirit of bullet club gabe kid is that no he bro well we'll get into more gabe kid talking a minute but this entire week of him doing media and like the press conference he did with eddy i'm like nah they didn't have family out there for that they had gabe kid out there for a reason this guy's on with the the la news or the la weather report just like having a great time representing media like crazy you can feel it when um just in the building that gabe kid is different yeah um i felt like the show really picked up with zax saber jr versus uh tana hashi um that was one of better matches on the card it was a trademark zax saber jr match where he's going to fold you up and like roll you all around and like spin you around and uh it's it's another one of those booking decisions where i'm like okay why did we do this thing to get here to do this then why did you have him drop the belt to tana hashi at russell kingdom just to get here where he's not champion and have him beat him again i don't i don't understand why we did that um and you you i definitely get the feeling that they're trying to set sachs jr jr up to challenge for the world title but the way we got here was just so strange i don't know what we did any of that when the match was starting i immediately thought i just saw this match and then i was like oh yeah wrestle kingdom that was not that long ago why are we just doing this match again it didn't feel like there was any stakes but then zax saber jr added the stakes by being like this is my way i'm on my way to becoming the world champion which makes sense and i'm into it but it just kind of felt like i felt the same way as you was like well why did they do the thing that kind of like negates and then the matt riddle thing like something was weird between this thing you could have just went straight to the jeff cop match and had him drop the belt to jeff cop and cut out all the rest of this stuff that happened before that i don't know why we didn't use that but no i really like this match it was better it was a lot better than a wrestle kingdom match in my opinion yeah zax saber jr has gotten to a point where he's so good that some of his matches can be easy where he could just like you said just fold him up spin him around clap you know what i mean he doesn't have to do big strikes he doesn't have to do like the the taxing new japan style he could just do the zax saber new yuk lock him up spin him around type shit and fans love him whatever he does and tana hashi's the same way of just being there is a presence that top that he had on super weird but i thought that the rest of it was dope i'm still i'm still like why is tana hashi here though honestly good he's uh he's a president but like retired dude i get it it doesn't feel like he doesn't look like he's having a good time every time he has a match it's like he's like oh he like it looks like it hurts him to do this and i'm like just stop you don't have to dude like you look like you're a pain big dog no man he's got come out he's got to throw up his little finger sign he's got his air guitar he's got to hit all the greatest hits highfly flow he's gonna throw up his little finger sign it's so funny coming up coming to west coast you know doing all sorts of twisted shit with his fingers better better take it easy tana hashi win these streets brother but no i get it man like saying some of those not like us videos some of the y'all got it i got chilled with some of those gestures um can't go certain places and do that the line is getting scary because i saw like a zumba class or something they were all hitting the crip walk to not like us and i'm like you guys we have to people have died over this can't be hitting this in zumba class um yeah but uh i like this match uh jeff cop versus uh lance archer was also better than i thought it was going to be uh lance archer dominated most of this match and the story of it was he had jeff cop beat at several points and he just kept milking and he kept uh getting air again showing off and that eventually was his downfall i thought the finish was really great um i thought him trying to do the undertaker rope walk and flipping off the crowd while he was doing it was really funny and then he turned around and jumped straight into a toward islands and got pinned one two three i thought that was a great finish yeah they tried to start it out with the uh old scott steiner fallaway slam moon salt thing i'm like these guys are going insane off rip jeff cop has that presence too the second half just felt so much better because it was all the we like these guys and they have a presence and like no matter what they do in the match we're gonna be excited and this felt like that both of these guys archer and cop have that they're cool they're gonna do something crazy but yeah the downfall lance archer was lance archer he's continuously being himself of i'm gonna hit a big move i'm gonna play the crowd i might beat somebody up on the way over there not entirely focused on my opponent and if you're not entirely focused on jeff cop you're dead jeff cop all i was thinking in this match is forbidden door samoa joe i don't care about nothing else in the world fucking book and that's all i could think about felt like this match is awesome but i need that bad um yeah i'm destroying myself the the former king of television challenging for the iWGP world television championship come on that's just come on that whoever whoever does these kind of things whoever puts these things together put the things together whoever put these things together put these things together do the thing got shigo tukage taking on yuya amora for the uh never openweight championship right before that we got a really cool vignette for hanare and nara made it clear that he is coming back for the never openweight title um i i really love what they've done with hanare over the last year or so i he's got the big face tattoo he's completely changed his presentation i love it and i think he's he's a guy when he comes back uh based off the outcome of this match that's gonna kill it in a shingle match um spoiler alert i guess if you haven't seen this match shigo tukage wins here i think it was a good showing for yuya as well um this was one of those matches where i was like the pacing of it was kind of odd because the first half of it is like i'm gonna work the neck work the neck work the neck work the neck and i was like we get it he's working in neck he kept pointing to his own neck and they were putting it over on commentary but it just like ground this match to a snail pace at one point and i was like okay where are we going so when we finally get into the hope spots and the comeback from yuya i was like all right we're getting somewhere um and that's when the match really really picked up right i thought by the end of it i thought this was probably one of the better matches of the night but it took us a minute to get there yeah they slow walk the dog to get to it but they eventually got into shingo being shingo another big presence there people were waiting for shingo that's why he needs he's a big presence in america he's a big presence in new japan like he has to have a big thing yuya i thought these young lions into the next superstars they all kind of have that same problem of it takes them a little bit to get into gear like the first part of the match i'm like all right i see it like you're still kind of doing the like i learned this in training and we walk it this way and we kind of get to the point that we need to get to at this point and it's like all right dude but when they get to it it's great like uh they they know the pacing that it feels like a big new japan main event when they eventually get to it but it takes some time but i thought shingo was awesome here his uh his strikes seeing wrestling up close i was in the third row seeing wrestling up close sometimes i don't like being up that close i'm like it's too close because sometimes the strikes i'm like i'm gonna talk about it here in a second when we get to one of these matches and shingo is not like that like his strikes are shingo's a big dog like he's out there to to let him know his lariots are big time he he's a big stocky dude like he looks like a pro wrestler and this match eventually like you said turned out to be one of the best of the night yeah um some of the the nearfalls that tore us into this were really good um like you said this was him hitting him with the big lariot spots um trying to put him away with the finisher but yeah i thought the the last stretch of this match really made it um because some of the some of the limb work in it i i i get it but it kind of went on a little bit too long how what what is your stance on limb work we never really gotten into it because i saw somebody earlier this week was upset at blake christian who was in the best of super juniors and like he somebody attacked his leg for the whole match and then he just no sold it does it take you out of a match a big match if they've been working it over and then eventually the guy's not always telling it it depends on who does it like i mean like brian doing limb work is going to be different because brian is like a genius so it's the same exact working in limb because that is one of the best technical wrestlers in the world um there are certain people when they do it they make it convincing um but not everybody can make it look as good it's hard yeah um and i mean that's that's the that's the magic of like a really good technical wrestler because when you think back on all the limb work that brian was doing in the alcada match in russian kingdom still still an action-packed match it still had a great pace to it um but not everybody can make it good and i think sometimes it feels too much like hold all right hold and it's like i i i there's an art to it man there's an art to it yeah exactly and like i think sometimes people get tied up and when it does it's not as important to the match as they are perceiving and it kind of takes away from the match but it usually doesn't take away from me because it's like well it doesn't it's not as effective as if zax saber brian dangison is doing it so it doesn't leave the same mark you know what i mean but that's like in the way i mean because i mean when you really when you really boil it down limb work is just a storytelling technique exactly if you paste the story well and you tell the story right with it then it's going to work yep but people can't see that it just i i also think that sometimes it does feels like it gets overused by certain people in the way that they do it um yeah but i mean at least try to make it make a little bit of sense if you're going to work over a leg and then the whole last stretch is like high impact high spots like what are we doing you know uh see we got two more matches here and i think uh in the hanari thing i think he's pretty over because when they played the video in the arena there people were cheering and pretty excited so it feels like he left a mark there yeah um yeah i think that you as one of those guys is bubbling up i think he and some he's on his way some of the other young young guys that are coming up there on their way just saw this i just wanted to highlight it before we go continue yeah as he always says hey regen phil then watching you for a while boss my brother a week ago he was one that got me into wrestling and the reason i watched you guys thank for the content uh my condolences of course um hopefully you and your family are doing well never want to hear something like that and of course like to have a connection to wrestling because of somebody i know that's probably difficult so you know hopefully everyone's doing well get my condolences yeah condolences to you friend um there's a lot of loss and a lot of stuff like that going on recently and so boston love out to you i'm connected to so many people because of this this podcast exists because of pro wrestling and phil is a lifelong friend off of that like so like we know and uh thank you for spending your time with us in this time um love out to you and your family yeah uh got uh kind of the main talking point from all of this uh eddie kinksden taking on gave kid for the new japan strong championship um uh i think coming again to this you got an idea of just the kind of star that gave kid can grow into um like i alluded to the media appearances this week the guy was on the news basically cutting a promo um and it was great uh if you have not seen the clip of it really really funny i'm pretty sure that some people might not have been happy with certain things he said i don't think so but uh boy did i think was funny um he at one point if you have not seen it he goes uh yeah if you want to if you're like in the theater um you got wwe but if you're like a fat nerd that can't get a girl go watch a w but if you want the real graphs you want real wrestling you go watch new japan fucking hilarious bro chills me dude i was dead i was like i don't know if he can say that but he's saying that yeah he was like running around the studio like a maniac it was uh then we also got the press conference where him and eddie were going back and forth and at one point he just they played some of it uh before the match and gave it just great him him getting mad like man you don't have any respect for anything you came here in a fucking jersey he's like he's just out right goes yeah i'm i'm gonna end your career on may 11th i'm gonna get you out of here i'm gonna break your fucking neck and i was like all right and then by the end of the night um Phil he did it he did that get up and walk really out of that match um what it adds even more to to to what gave kid in this presence is i think by this time in the show phil the crowd needed this match you know what i mean like we were waiting the first half of it was kind of slow we started to kick into high gear eddie kenxton is ridiculously over it's crazy how any space that he's in people love him so much but gave kid what he's been doing in the last year these media appearances he has something there's an aura there's some energy yeah he's ridiculous so when he came out you could just spill it the match though i thought was exactly like i said needed needed hardcore stuff needed barbed wire tables all the shenanigans and plunder that you would like in this type of match yes so when the uh it was a no rope last man standing match was last man standing matches sometimes i'm like but this match was awesome because the um kind of hatred and thing that they showed for each other coming into it added on to the stipulation and i thought that everything was smart we worked when they got to the spot that eventually hurt my guy eddie kenxton it was like we've seen this spot a bunch of times it was set the table up on the ring apron and the guardrail and somebody comes over you put them through it gave suplexes eddie kenxton through which it should be a smaller easier bump because there's no ropes to get over but for some reason this did not the bump was too big so eddie kenxton went over and his leg hit the guardrail and you can see the it looks bad and it was bad it looked very bad um yeah but i thought this match was very good i thought uh eddie coming out with the guy that wraps his theme song with fire again you could just see the energy he came out with um every time i think of gave kid now i also think of him arguing with osprey on on instagram really really funny people were calling it the brev off because they were really really funny man um but he came out straight away with the rope he just came out with a different energy and i mean even when finley came out at the end and raised his hand i was like ah man mm-hmm this is this is gabeshoe now yep it's this is gay it's only a matter of time before he kicks you out of group it's coming um it felt like finley was trying to get some of that energy he comes out like he was totally yeah i'm over here too yeah no no we we we know who's over here big dog yeah um he tried came out trying to look cool with his like circular glasses on funny like standing next to the rapper and like i was like i i mean i didn't hate to sit though i thought of you i thought i thought it was cool like it was cool but i was just like okay um but anything you looked cool yeah um it's just hard to picture him doing all that dressing that way and then coming out with like the the irish club thing what does it call it the uh chalelie chalelelie and it's like you think you know you don't be bringing the chalelie to the club maybe use it as like a cane it's not longer now yeah hey buddy you can't bring that chalelie in here not getting in here with them shoes and not getting in here with that chalelie and not getting in here with that shirt you're not getting in here with that chalelie getting in here with that shirt uh yeah but this match was great um i thought all the spots where um they were trying to out Eddie Kingston each other and Eddie would stop the count when it looked like the match was over and continue to beat up Gabe or Gabe would continue beating him down to stop the count i thought all that was really funny um i think stuff like uh setting up the chair with the barbed wire and Gabe's facial expression to him getting upset and frustrated with setting things up and it would start falling apart he like start pushing it back together really really funny stuff the the end stretch with the handcuffs and you could see what Eddie was trying to do Eddie was being self-destructive as always and his self-destructiveness ended up being his own undoing and it played into a story with Gabe his first match with Gabe and he was telling him if you come back you better be you better be better than me this time and he outright Eddie out Eddie Kingston Eddie Kingston by pulling the the chain around his neck and then pulling it into suplex suplex temp out of the ring uh his legs hit the guardrail no give to this guardrail at all his legs bounced off that off that guardrail as soon as it happened i was like oh he's hurt soon as it happened i was like there's no way it's not hurt oh and then what he was hurt is like again if you haven't seen it just watch it it looks very very it looks very mad um you know what um um shout out Eddie Kingston uh that i saw some people on their same old bullshit i saw somebody say is it worth it and it's like dude like is anything where it's pro wrestling like you can we've seen people get hurt doing the silliest the craziest thing down to the regular silliest thing like that's not what this was it's like wasn't like should he have taken this yes or no it's just like accidents happen that's not how they plan for this to happen and so yeah that's the game yeah i thought it uh it was unfortunate but uh Eddie's a consummate pro i thought the way that he worked the ending angle was perfect um i thought commentary made it look grizzly as well they didn't really have to add much on to it if you were really watching and saw his legs hit the guardrail i was like and at the time i'm telling you watching at home the second he hit the ground he started grabbing his leg i said oh totally yeah that was messed up but you know on uh on Gabe Kid Kevin Owens tells the story of he saw when early in his career he saw Stone Cold Steve Austin in an airport and he asked Stone Cold Steve Austin for advice and Stone Cold told him never stop running your mouth and so like Kevin uh we know Kevin Owens of in his matches he never stops yelling at his opponent he never stops saying random things Gabe Kid exudes that exact same energy yes the whole time in the match he's talking shit he's berating his opponent he's yelling at somebody you could fill his presence there's never a time when he's not present in his match like on offense or defense he's talking shit he's letting him know and i think that's what's going to get him to the highest point is like he's talked so much shit he never stops even when he's getting his ass beat he's still talking shit and that's going to be the reason why he becomes world champion it's so funny the his facial expressions with it makes it even funnier um but yeah i really enjoyed this match yeah i thought even as scary as the finish looked i thought that it served its purpose in a match and i enjoyed it it's because Eddie's that kind of guy you're gonna have to put him down for you gotta kill him um and so i thought that that that came across really well um as i mean and it builds to another match when that he comes back like that's still you know what i mean and i mean as long as he laid out there and like the refs around it looked really really scary um but i'm glad that he's i'm glad that he's fine uh relatively fine as like as fine as you can be with the broken um of course after that he got back into the ring it looked like he was gonna try and talk or something and then we got young jack perry coming back out to the ring and it was also very over yeah very over came back out to the ring and uh the young bucks followed them and the young bucks proceeded to stomp on this guy and talk trash to the california crowd um i thought all of that was very funny um nik jackson nik jackson is fucking hilarious man yes when when nik was walking back up to the ramp and the one guy was flipping him off oh i didn't know if that was on camera dude i thought i thought that was after the cameras i went off air that was so funny bro the word guy is flipping him off and nik turns to him and he keeps like faking like he's gonna super kick him in the face and then he like gets right in the face and he's like flipping him off and like pelper thrust it all in the face it's so funny i didn't i didn't know that was on camera that's so funny like it felt like he kept doing the fake out super kick thing and then it felt like matt was like all right nik let's go dude i very well did it watched it like three times it's so so funny man uh and i i think what makes it even funnier is because they're they're both doing this bit where matt is the passive aggressive one he's just like oh no calm down calm calm down and of course what they're doing if people have not picked up on it is they're playing two varying degrees up in executive one is very clearly over the top uh loose cannon uh good cop backup freaky dicky guy spent to make man and the other is passive aggressive hey i'm smiling and i'm happy i'm your friend i'm your friend tony con um and so they're doing they're doing the pair this so every time every time nik starts getting out of hand and matt's like trying to calm him down he's just start doing it even more it's so so funny man uh that's so far i really thought that was and i was like there's no way he would be doing this on camera yeah matt matt pulling him away at then very very funny but yeah i thought this all went over well then putting over that this was their first time coming back to a new japan show this is their first time back here it felt very much like old aw stuff from that initial run of 2019 and that plays a lot into the main event as well um and i thought that was a cool way to uh run things back with eddie unfortunately that isn't going to play into the anarchy and the arena match but the other part of it is you can get heat on those three guys for coming out and this guy is legitimately hurting it they're proceeding to stop on him and kick him and talk talk shit to him the whole time um i thought all of it went over well yeah i loved young bucks coming out love being berated by them being in the poor person in that crowd thought it was perfect thought it made a lot of sense it kind of being it also the connection of collision was happening and they weren't at collision they were here even though they're supposed to be leading the company and then brian was on collision being like they're talking all this shit and they're not even here at the show and they're here because it's in california close to their home and they could just pull up like all the connections connected to it i was like nik nik nik did the same lap around the ring that he did when he came to collision the first time i'm like y'all are fucked yeah there are so yeah i thought it was a really good bit they did a lot of trolling i thought that that was funny um we can get into more of that with a w as well um i thought that the uh footage that they aired after dynamite went off the air after them talking was also really funny um matt feeling so disgusted like how dare you guys call yourself team a w i came up with that in i group chat remember that tony really really funny yeah i think that uh beyond that jack berry it being in that crowd working for him like wonders man he is super over being connected to this he's gonna be even huger star i feel after these next couple months yeah i think adding him to the lead was the right move smart continues to be proven that it was the right move because you can tell that he is enjoying himself working with them yeah it's just it's just a different vibe um his heel work is night and day then where he was before he left and when he where he is now he's killing it so uh the main event i thought was really cool i thought them airing the the footage of um mocks giving show to the the jacket that was four years ago does not seem like those four years ago um yeah going going five years that was when that was 2019 because remember that was that was mocks his first year was new japan right also tied into him debuting with a w uh so i believe he gave him the jacket in december of 2019 so it's almost it's going on five years um what is time though yeah but uh yeah i really love that they played up like him giving him the jacket four years ago played up all of the young lion stuff and what mocks meant to his career um him having to go on excursion and stuff and the pandemic happening and then where he is now is one of the new three musketeers and proclaiming himself to be the ace and to step into that role to be that guy you have to leave that part of your life behind you have to leave the jacket and your relationship with mocks behind and to do that you have to beat him and i thought that that was a really good story to tell throughout this match i thought the divin yet they aired before it was perfect um i thought uh showed his interest was great he came out with the jacket of course he also let mocks come out do his entrance but he immediately cut him out i'll cut him off during his entrance um and try to uh show some edge here um in the most showed a way of trying to show show show edge um showed is great he he's gonna get it one day yes he's he's still in that mode where he's trying to be too nice yes every time i think about showed i think about uh the uh black pool combat club entrance and they're all coming out uh through through the crowd and they all have one all black and he's with them and he's like walking around fist bumping everybody and like the rest of them are like looking around menacing and they're all black and mocks is like staring out through the crowd like menacing and showed us like walking around like fist bumping the fan with like his white jacket like it kind of starts to everything yes um so seeing him try to pick up more like of mocks' energy in this match i thought made a lot of sense um he he let it slip he kept like giving him moments uh and letting him get back up and trying to show honor in the match and that's where he was making the mistakes like no put him down where you have him um i i thought he when he was close getting to get in the count out and mocks rolled back in and he waited till the very last second when he was rolling in and then hit him with the the drop kick i thought that was really smart i thought that was really smooth i thought the finishers and exchanges through our into the match were really dope um i really loved this until we got to the aftermath of it just erased it from the the the the record it never happened it was a terrible no um i like this match a lot i thought that like i was saying earlier being really close you see these strikes showed uh it's gotta lay it in there was points i'm like if you don't hit this fool i'm gonna get in and hit him for him but now i'm thinking about in the way you're laying it out i'd be like this could be a part of the match and a part of his story yeah it's just part of the story that's what what i eventually got to because at the end of it he starts really striking him because most of the match is mocksley telling him get up and hit me mother fucker like get up and do it what did i tell you what did i teach you and showed us fitting the match being like but my teacher i could never dishonor my teacher and mocksley's like get up and dishonor me right now slap me in the face kick me in the kick me in the head back rake me do something to me mocksley is such a uh um active wrestler that i love that continuously continuously through all of his reigns no matter where he is it's like the only way to really beat him is try to over exhaust him but something in him just continuously go mocksley is like he does it seeing his figure and his the way that he works like up close and personal i'm like he really shouldn't be a wrestler it's so funny like he should be in like some other type of thing because like you comparing to like daniel san and omega and osprey and like he doesn't look like any of those guys but he can work just as hard or harder than all those guys and he never stops like he doesn't ever feel like he's tired in the match like at the end of the match he's just like that was fun and it's like what do you mean that was fun he just almost died in there he's just so like he's such a workhorse that it's like i understand why he's put into every position that he is just because of the way he works but yeah that's what i kind of left out of it being like shoda needs to lay it in because what he's going to become is something huge but now thinking about like that's going to play into the story eventually of like this is what i used to look like and now i'm this so my brain has been changed that's what new japan does for you but now i thought this was a really good match in the ending stretch of mocksley it feels like you got mocksley down and he's always like there's one point where he's on the on the ground and showed us like celebrating and mocksley always has that one like up and hits the king conglary and you're like down and then he gets you with the bulldog choke and it's over like he's always like patiently waiting on people but shoda definitely is on his way i think he gets all the fundamentals of building to a great finish like i felt like this also felt like the shingo and new year match where it felt slow at the beginning but for a purpose because when they got to the ending stretch it felt like a big new japan main event yeah i thought the story they told in the match was really good like he said him trying to take it easy on mocks at certain points but he was trying his best to show him that he wasn't and i thought that that's what what he was trying to do with attacking him before he finished his entrance i've shown him like i'm not going to take it easy on him but he still was doing that showed him was like when they were exchanging the strikes and he was just like hit me bitch and he was like okay bitch he's like yeah all of that stuff was great really really good match i thought the ending of it was great i don't think they're done with this at all i know i'm going to come back to this and i really liked that shoda tried to build this up like it wasn't predictable that he was going to lose yeah because in the video in the video package he was saying i want to beat mocks because i want to face the most winning is i w g p champion of all time i want to wrestle kata and i think the story they're building there is also very good i do believe that one year forbidden door probably not going to be this year but eventually shoda as the guide that is air the ton of hossey's throne is going to face hokata yeah no totally there was a couple uh moments in this match couple falsies i thought shoda can do it i was like oh wait a second this might be it like no way in the world but like he did get it to a point where it felt like he was a believable challenger for mocksley and going from four years ago to now that's an accomplishment in itself and then four more years he's going to be the biggest one of the biggest superstars in this company so yeah i thought that this was great into a point and then things really went downhill yeah all of the shoda and mocks uh love fest uh them doing their uh father and son thing was great yep and then evil came out and spoiled everybody's evil is going to challenge mocks at dominion uh and then he proceeded to spray paint the belt and all the other stuff and i was just like i don't want any of this i knew where nobody else back there feel like somebody else got to be back there i knew it was coming too because uh after mocks beat ren at don taku and he cut the promo where he was trashing for uh house a torture i knew was coming uh and that that promo was very very funny as well um him telling them like man you can't you can't win a belt with five guys you bring five guys out here you still can't beat me um really really good uh but when he was saying all that that was like they're definitely going to come back from now evil is definitely going to come through that belt now um so that will be the match at dominion uh i think the big story of that also is that it's already been announced that it's not going to be the main event uh and this is the first time in over a decade that the iWGP championship has not main invented a show um what's up with that well the uh the best of super juniors finals is going to be made up in i believe okay um but yeah evil um not the best way to end this show but it was a solid show all around if you're not a fan of the house of torture stuff i can see this leaving a very bitter taste in your stomach on the way out um but it's a solid show other than that i'm like i thought they were leaving that house of torture shit over there Phil no apparently not here comes evil with this spray can phone on i just had people sending me this clip over and over like three people sent it to me and i every time i opened it i was like why are people sending me this clip of her giving her the forearm like i don't understand and so after i finished recording and i actually turned my audio on my phone i was like oh why did she do that why did she do that and that i i like stared off it at the wall for like the next two minutes like why why did she do that like i don't know what to make of this i watched the the discourse online i saw people um at one point saying maybe she did not hear the audio um how do you not hear the audio i don't know how these tiktok things work i'm old uh you don't make a video and share a video without turning the my audio is not on either ever but if i'm releasing a video or making a video that's going out to somebody i hear the audio no way that a 25 year old tiffany stratton accidentally did this is what i'm landing on yeah uh do we have proof that she actually posted that because that was the other thing i was not sure of because everywhere i've seen it like it has her name above it like it's her IG stories but i didn't actually go to her IG stories and see it everybody sent me the clip of it somebody was somebody like screen recorded it being her thing or something so i don't i'm we're all assuming at this point that it's a a real video of course and when you look at the reaction that's mack down it's not like she was getting booed it's not like none of that was happening because like said it's in a it's in a certain bubble um so they're not going to draw attention to it the last thing ww would do is come out and acknowledge it and then get more people to pay attention to it because then more people are going to pick it up bigger outlets are going to pick it up then it becomes a story um and so you know to the to the point earlier um where people were saying that they didn't feel like uh certain people were talking about it certain outlets weren't covering it it's because that's why it's not a it's not a story yet to certain people because it's not it's it's an internet thing it's a very yep if you know you know thing like i said did not look did not look good at all i was very much looking like why would she do that like what maybe she's standing on business maybe that's what she is i think that's what this been better of course what was the first thing your boy your boy main event j um pain you're dragging off uh to move on to the court to the semi-finals it's always been such a long week i forgot there was a whole discourse of people saying j is the worst of all time of course this is not similar controversy but this was this was the discourse of the day um at one point uh so and and this tournament with the injuries and people being replaced it might something's wrong with this you know what i mean like there's keep the stuff keeps happening off the backs of this tournament yeah uh yeah we got uh we got the quarterfinals though this week and i thought the quarterfinals um were good i thought the gunther and kofi match was fire um i love when they give kofi a chance to show that he's still good as a single competitor um i thought he had a i thought he had a fire match with gunther um yeah those are always my favorite kofi matches where it's like we know he's one of the greatest tag wrestlers of all time new day's the greatest faction but he is one of the best baby faces uh heart come from behind type wrestlers that ww's ever have and when he reminds us in matches like this is like oh yeah it's kofi he's fucking amazing one of the greatest of all time yeah quote me straight out uh but gunther of course moves forward to the second round uh that should have been your first hint that dragon off was losing guys uh because no that was the hint that everybody that that they thought he was winning i'm like what uh because of course you know we want to see gunther versus dragon off they have the story story rivalry from nxt and nxt uk um so people want to see that match on a main roster it's too soon to do that match so they're not going to do that match in a tournament and like isn't the match on the net tv that's that's uh that's a that's a big high profile match when they revisited they want to do it in a big way and so the second gunther moved forward i was like oh i see what they're doing um jay lost his match to gunther because jimmy interfered this is him getting his rematch it's they're doing a similar thing um with the women as well um where they are set they set up what look like would be the semi-finals match and it's a big high marquee match that you're not actually gonna get it's just to create anticipation for the match but they're not gonna give it to you yet and so the second gunther won i was like oh i don't think we're getting a dragon off match um but we got made of it jay taking all your dragon off um i i uh why are people surprised i i like jay man let me let me preface with that i like jay um i have not been high on jay's matches for a minute and i don't think this because he's a bad worker i just think the style of matches he's doing with this character are not are not for me um i also just think that uh there was a way to get here without setting up a guy like dragging off that just got to the main roster and people had high hopes in and immediately kind of cutting his legs out from underneath him because again i expected jay to win but then when it dawned on me i was like oh he's gonna be dragging off though that sucks like i don't want to i don't want to see dragon off get his first loss that way and i get the pecking order is where it is jay is where it is where he is now he's super duper over he's been a part of one of the biggest storylines in a company so it makes sense for him to get the win but it just feels like it's too soon for dragging off to take that kind of loss um and in that kind of way it just i didn't like it i didn't like it it felt predictable but i still didn't like it but i did not expect to get on twitter and find that people were like really really upset that jay won i was like i never commented when i saw on the twitter because i was like guys this was kind of easy to see that that's where they were going um i don't like it either but i knew that that's what they were doing i knew that they were setting up the rematch between jay and gunther they were giving you the bait and switch let me tell you why i liked it i don't want gunther 2.0 and i that's i don't want them to just do dragging off the exact same bit that they did with gunther have them come in be undefeated for a whole year dominate dominate dominate boring i think dragging off is such a strong fucking wrestler that he could take a hundred losses and after every loss he's right back up he can loot like he lost and like the next time he has a match he's gonna be back up just because that's how strong matches he has um this jusso contrary to what everybody believes is never going to be world champion i'm sorry you guys not happening i don't think he's ever going to be world champion but he is one of the most over wrestlers in the company by far and he needs a consolation prize and that consolation prize is the king of the ring i knew coming into this what time it was i was like gunther has a chance but i don't know if they're gonna really want to do that they have jay is through here they say he's hot they keep telling them he needs to be world champion they keep telling me that but he don't need to be world champion so how do you make up for that let's make up king of the ring give him a little win give him this and i'm not mad at him beating dragon off because i don't want undefeated streets if he has losses on his record that's okay and the losses being one of the most over guys in the company i think it'll be all right now that turning into jusso's the worst wrestler of all time he's all entrant and all this i'm like well how did we get from last year we all want to jusso to be the world champion and beat roman rains to now he's all entrant but life comes at you fast comes at you really really fast and then that story too fell of the ww really likes what jay's doing and they want to try to essentially capitalize off what happened in france and do more of that and i'm sure they're gonna start handing out like flashlights or something for j um it's like fans really don't want you to tell us that this is the person they don't want you to shove us down the throat they don't want the roman rains thing like if you're telling us this is the guy they're gonna revolt but like we should have all seen this comment i think you know no i mean we've seen it that just from the from the way he's been booked after the bloodline stuff on giving him the big entrance of ruslamania um giving him the sibling match and giving him the big like vignette and everything and like man they gave him wane for his interest like they've given him every means to succeed out of nowhere rwayne's here yeah they've just wane with him fell yeah they've given him every means to succeed and i just think like it's working because he is over but for me the matches are not really hidden from me same here the matches i'm like oh the damey and character territory yeah it's been overdone for me um like i said i i very much felt like once gunther moved moved on to the next round that jay was probably going to be his match um storytelling brother yeah and it's it's setting up now that jimmy's not in this way can he beat him that's the story um and i think he's gonna be dragging off and gunther though i didn't think about that aspect i think he could win that match but i also wouldn't be surprised if gunther went to move forward as well um it makes more sense for gunther to be the one but i feel like they might give it to jay as a consolation for us yeah um but yeah i wasn't as upset as twitter was that he won because twitter was upset i i was just kind of like uh this sucks dragon off came straight up and lost this this felt very much like what vince would do with a call up um straight away and the other reason why it doesn't make sense for dragon off to win it's not just that it's too soon to do that match but the story of dragon off and nxt is that dragon off was gunther's kryptonite he was the guy that finally beat him and ended his long title reign so if you're building gunther's ascent after the ic title reign and you're trying to build him up it makes no sense to put him up against the guy that has had his number before against his kryptonite on his way out why why would you do that like you you immediately undermine that this is a guy that has his number that can beat him if gunther beat them in their first match up and then if you just have dragon off win you burn out the story that you can tell of him dodging dragon off on his way to win in the world championship right yeah i think it's just my time they're trying to get to the story too quickly and this one has some legs on it and like you don't want to just burn it out on a random episode of raw that'd be crazy yeah you're not going to do that match on or raw but yeah we got ran over for jay is what you're saying so no it's not uh i like say i like jay can i say that i like everything he's doing on tv no but i do like jay is a wrestler i am ready for him to get back with uh jimmy and be attacking that's it that's all but um and i think they're going to be way bigger when they get back together oh who's those when who's those reunite they're out of here it's it's only a matter of time way bigger than they ever were honestly yes absolutely they're going to be way way bigger than they ever were um and i have more thoughts on us so put it put attack um yeah uh good on the smack down side we got Randy Orton versus Carmelo Anthony at Carmelo Anthony Carlos Carmelo Hayes um Hopan there was a mellow there but not Anthony Hopan um Orton took on Carmelo Hayes and a quarterfinals on smackdown um it was a very Orton match um i really like that they paid off the stuff that they were doing as Carmelo on NXT of him being a guy that grew up during the rule says aggression era so he used a ruthless aggression thing um on NXT and he went to point Orton i was like that was a great touch man i have to give it to him when they do something smart and smart that was smart um i mean it matches what it was it's like i said it's Orton match and Orton matches are not really for me either um but i thought that this was good i enjoyed it for what it was um LA night i thought the bits with uh LA night and Carmelo Hayes throughout the the show before were better than the Orton yeah i agree um i it seems like they're setting it up as like a filler feud in between it all it seems like they're also going to try and get back to LA night versus sloping paw as well um i can't have to get into this awkward uh contract signing as well in a minute but uh yeah it feels like they're trying to set up stuff for LA night to do before he re-enters the US title picture and if they're gonna do the Carmelo match i think this is a smart idea um now that both of them are effectively out of the tournament because LA night did lose to Tomatanga lost again to the numbers game um gotta go get some friends LA night sorry um he still only got more friends Phil what's the deal like you know he'll be talking to nobody in the back like with roman i think he has completely taken over and people just don't know it this is all part of his plan um and that's also why i don't think we see that i think that's the reason we haven't seen Jacob yet um because that was the other joke when i was sitting watching this jake thing i was like man where's jake up man like where is jake up get us get us get us some jake up and ring stuff the bloodline every single week yeah uh and unlike tama tanga and tama and tanga loa he's actually blood he's actually related to them by blood he also in nmow is an attack team called samoan swat think the men's has been good as well but i think the quality of the women's matches have been better they have um it feels pressure for some reason i don't know what it is man especially on smackdown i think the smackdown matches have been hidden um when bailey came out this week and was saying this is the sign we should do evolution too i was like might have a point because these matches have been hidden points you can't make for sure you can't keep telling me that you can't fill up a whole show when you can fill up a whole tournament and you can do weeks of good television off these matches then you can do a pay-per-view if you really want it to exactly but i have no doubt that they'll make excuses to not do it again there's no with the format and how they're doing and these overseas shows and how things it doesn't make it doesn't make sense that they don't do it like how you guys have all the the resources to do it and you're saying again with this tournament that women's wrestling is how to tell why aren't you not just doing it do it uh make it like uh well the network doesn't exist but just make it like this especially as many as many things as you can just throw on tiktok you can just you can just do something it put on they got speed on the like there's no way you can't do this in some kind of cool format yeah i i would love to see evolution come back um and i've been saying that since the first evolution because i really enjoyed it um but i like i like your thoughts on uh on the jay thing and how they handled this though so i'm glad we're getting to this part smacked down uh yeah uh yeah i thought the eo and bailey shayna baseler match was really good um one of shayna's best matches in a long time um i mean eos eos so not shocked and they also have great chemistry they have history together from their start-up matches and some of their matches before this so um not surprised that it was good but i thought it was very good um not for nothing i thought the lyra and so he matched with was solid too um i thought slyra looked good was really surprised to hear people in a crowd are are catching on to her theme song and doing a woo um i thought that was cool for her um i i don't know what to make of the the segments with her and live in becky they're a little awkward at the moment but um i'm glad to see that lyra is in the middle of a big storyline um that punch that becky hit live with bro yeah yeah well what's that oh like she hit her in the name it's like a little uh big sister hitting a little sister with a punch yeah um who uh but eos guy moved on to the next round and she's going to face lyra valkeria in the semi-finals um that's going to be hot i think that's going to be hot and i think that's to continue to build the storyline of damage control um and becky because i do think eos is going to win that match and move on to the finals um once mac down side we got uh tiffany straddon versus bianca bellaire to open smackdown um if people think that they don't know about the response online um to that clip i think opening with that right away and getting out the way kind of seems to insinuate that they do and i think that the way they handle the match is very interesting because going into this match bianca has been working this knee and they've been making a point to point that out and so coming into this week at the same feeling i had with the gunther and the illiam match they're not just going to give you jade and bianca right away that's a big match that they're saving for a big moment they just put them together the tag team you can't tell the grudge match story yet um but they want to build anticipation for it so that's why they're making you think they're going to give you that at this point and snatching it away they're doing a bait switch for a reason and so you forgot about there was a couple bits coming into this match too because when the tiffany straddon thing happened there was uh lineup of what was going to happen to smackdown and that match is featured and then for a couple of time it was taken off and then it was put back on and then another funny bit happened between that where for some reason everybody thought bianca belair was pregnant yeah that was very weird um Angelo at the time of his life with it tweeting that was all very funny Angelo was the MVP of the entire situation but yeah just the handling of uh the where it was on the schedule and that's also why i think it being the first match was intentional they want to get it out of the way um so you're not thinking of the whole show what are they gonna do with tiffany straddon this is what we're doing with tiffany straddon right here i'll fret yeah i thought i thought going into this um it's too soon to have jade take a clean loss and so it made sense with the injury angle that they were working i thought that tiffany was going to win i thought that before that clip came out and i was like oh they're in trouble now because now they have to make a decision um do you reward tiffany after that and give her this win uh or do you give jade her first loss and i think we saw with both of these matches something changed i can't say that for sure but just a hunch something changed here because they were emphasizing that injury that knee thing going into this match the whole time and have your heel that's an opportunist not work that knee and use that to win i think there's a reason for that because i think that that was probably the plan when i think possibly gonna win the finish tonight and jade was kind of wonky that's i'm like i don't really think it seemed it seemed like that was changed last minute as well yeah definitely but um tiffany versus bianca was very good i thought it was like one of the best matches in the tournament so far um i think it's easily one of tiffany that's pretty hot yeah i think it's easily one of tiffany's best matches so far um and they of course after this which lends to my point earlier that they're trying to just let it blow over um they're like just go out there and cook with bianca they'll forget about it yeah but this match did cook bianca did win clean here um which i think was a statement um yeah again can't prove that but just a hunch um i mean having the black woman that you called the out of her name online he is cleaning jade that she called out of her name but yeah bianca won she moved on to the semi-finals and the other round uh they built up nia versus jade they've been building that rematch since royal rumble that's how jade debuted um she had the big elimination out of it um i assumed coming into this week that jade was going to win and she was going to face tiffany in the next round that's another reason why i'm sure that they didn't want to have that match up in the next round um not just not rewarding her but also giving us that match up and possibly seeing that clip resurfaced some more online definitely whatever surfaced yeah so uh jade lost here in a very wonky dq finish i think it served its purpose to protect jade and move nia on to the next round um do i think it was executed well not really not really but i again i think it served its purpose i think uh certain parts of it worked i thought the pull-up part brawl was hot i thought uh nia trolling her daughter telling her her daughter her mom sucks was really funny um nia continues to be uh really really great i'm glad that she is going to move on and probably have a hot match i think she's going to probably beat beyond getting the next round and move on to the finals if i had to guess um who's going over who's winning i kind of think eo's going to win eos gonna win the whole thing yeah i i initially thought tiffany could go on to the finals and possibly win but i kind of think i kind of think eo's gonna win now um but yeah the women's matches have been great though uh beyond this dumb controversy that happened with the smack downside i think that everything has been really glaring especially i keep thinking about about the last time they had it the show where i yelled about where i left raw and vinsic man this is your last chance and all that they were doing king and queen of the ring matches and they were like a minute two seconds and stupid and they didn't care like it's we're in a way different place yeah the the women's matches and the first queen of the ring tournament and they weren't even calling it queen of the ring they were calling it queen's crown and those matches were nowhere near as good as this um this tournament has been much much better again i think that the queen of the ring tournament had been better than a king of the ring tournament but yeah i'm i'm excited to see what they do with the semi-finals i think both match ups are good uh nya versus bianca should be good uh eo versus lyre without curious gonna be good as well i assume um on other side we got randy ordin taken on tomatanga in his revenge uh randy was spitting a lot in that promo i was like why is he like he was yelling but it was a lot of spit flying everybody i was like why is he why is he why is he spitting so much um but it's like what's going on um but yeah i this makes sense of course because it's the tie back to backlash because uh tomatanga and tomatanga loa uh injured kevin oens and as we know now randy ordin and kevin oen and our best friends you injured my friend and my tag partner so now i have to cut a fiery promo to remind you who i am i'm randy freaking ordin seems like that's another guy's catchphrase but we'll let it slide for now um i thought it was a lot promo i thought it was a great way to end smackdown um and uh i think gunther and jay's got got a lot of uh got a lot of pressure on it i would not be surprised um if gunther and jay cooks next week because just based off of all of the discourse and people saying that they're not high on jay and from what i've seen with jay usually when he has a good dance partner he delivers um i wouldn't i be surprised if jay burs has gone through helms and you know what's going to happen certain ww fans are going to be like see i told you y'all hate it jay y'all are overreacting this is what happens when you overreacting it's like y'all yeah come on it's like this is brian dangleson and shit yeah so i i i wouldn't i doubt that that match is going to be good gunther is one of the best wrestlers in the company so i could not he's gonna he's gonna have a good match with him do you think that there'll be more backlash same thing if jay goes over a gunther it's gonna be bad i think i don't know man i i think gunther's winning though um i can see i can see jay winning as well um but cuz said it's cuz i'm thinking of setting up jay and tomma maybe maybe you know you think tomatanga's gonna beat ord no yeah i don't think he's gonna beat ord no and let's say use the numbers game again maybe cuz then what's the interesting visual um yeah uh distancing yourself from him in one breath but then also um supporting his motion it's it it looks a way it looks crazy yeah cuz especially when like i mean from their side they're attached to a lot of this and she's like you guys are complicit you guys are a part of this so for them to come out and kind of be like well no we weren't is like them protecting their butt but then from up this side it's like well why are you protecting this guy when you just are trying everything you can to get away from him his defense of being well she wasn't supposed to say that essentially is like well that that's not a defense though like well yeah i i haven't heard too many times of them come out and be like i didn't do any of that it's like well she wasn't this she's lying she actually liked all this crazy shit and it's like that's not what this is about dude you keep trying to spend it into she was young and in love essentially with this luxury billionaire it's like no you were manipulating and being a terrible person but this uh every time some new kind of bit comes out on it it gets grosser and grosser but like them kind of like does this feel like they're supporting him you know what i mean well that's the interesting thing here i don't think that they're supporting him as a person right i think it's like you initially said i think they're kind of trying to cover their ass um so essentially what the report says that ww is siding with Vince McMahon in the lawsuit against Janelle Grant now just that sentence in itself it makes it seem like they're supporting him in his wrongdoing yes um that's not entirely true um it they are they are backing him and they did file the memorandum on Wednesday and supportive his motion to compel arbitration disputing his her allegations in the lawsuit but i think it's i think it's important to actually read the articles and read what's actually going on here totally um their point of conflict here is essentially that she had already agreed to take the settlement she had already agreed uh when she signed an NDA to not talk about this she had already agreed to the payoff she had already agreed that in writing if there was a dispute it wouldn't go to court it would go to arbitration and so their their point essentially is this should be handled in arbitration it shouldn't be handled in court now the issue here is the same thing as i was saying with the Tiffany thing i don't think it's a sin in the sense of we're defending everything he did here i think they want this to be out of court and handle behind closed doors because they want the negative news stories to go away exactly i don't think it's i don't think it's that we're in bed with Vince and we're supporting him eventually he ended up back here i do think they're still out of the business of dealing with Vince but i i think they just want all of this to go away i think that they want this to go back to being handled behind closed doors especially if they're handling it off of we thought you signed something we thought we weren't dealing with this in the on a big major scale we we already agreed that you know you were going to take the settlement we already agreed in writing that if there were some misgivens here some mishandlings here it was to be handled in arbitration um but the the things that are happening that got her to the point of bringing it bringing it here is what's crazy you know like everything that they're saying is eliminated because like well what came after that though like it doesn't matter with this like things were broken ndas all this stuff was damaged along the way up here so i'm just going to read this out um first line of it again sounds really bad ww disputes grants allegations um but as a threshold matter this dispute this dispute cannot be heard in court because grant agreed to arbitrate her claims ww therefore moves to compel this action to arbitration um simply put grant has no claim to action claim no claims actionable in this court because the separation of non-disclosure agreement she signed with mcman and ww the monetary benefits of which she can conceitly accept it and retained can contains an arbitration provision that unambiguously precludes this court from uh educating her claims now again that first line of it the optic of that is awful um but again now i think there's parts of her allegations that make the company look really bad when you paint the company as this is vince being a nasty dude and he had a environment that was culpable in his actions yeah that looks bad on them but it's actually when she's saying that you guys are complicit and then it feels like they're being complicit again you know what i mean like oh you're doing it again what do you mean yes um it it sounds really bad but that's what i'm saying i think it's mostly they're saying well wait a minute she shouldn't even be able to take this the court she shouldn't even be able to talk about this publicly we shouldn't even have to hear all of this right now when we're up and doing we washed our hands at this we paid her she took the money she still has the money why is this going on why why should she even be able to do this because she signed she signed contract in writing it says that this should go to arbitration if anything this cannot go to court it does not warrant going to court it should be an arbitration um but that is still saying whatever the definition full definition arbitration is it's still saying she could go after him though right is that kind of what i'm listening to but going to arbitration and going to court are two different things going to arbitration is whatever the arbitrator that comes in they're handling it outside of the courts that's there's they're not going to be a hearing um so you can't that's not really that's like a going arbitration is like they think she's trying to get more money essentially um yeah and it sounds like they're uh they're dispute with what ww is saying and they're being grant in her lawyer is that the speaking out act and the victim of trafficking and violence protection act um nullifies the nda so that's why they're saying that they should the india shouldn't even come into play and because the india shouldn't come into play arbitration shouldn't come into play and so i should be able to take this to court um like this whole thing is based off of manipulation and you manipulated her into signing this thing like of like why would we listen to this when it's based off of this it's their thing correct um but yeah it looks really really bad um i don't like this is again like i said earlier um where me speaking as a human and not a corporation as a human being this sounds awful as a corporation i understand what they're trying to do and it just looks bad like you're just trying you're trying to get away from this and you're trying to get out of the headlines but you're putting yourself back in the headline by supporting kids claim for arbitration it's uh like you're trying to wash your hands of this but the way you're washing your hands of this is getting you back into shit you're trying to wash your hands of it with a technicality you're trying to right you and i mean you're technically it's not really a technicality it's it's the legality of the of the contract she signed the agreement she signed shit me that she has no case that any dispute here should go to arbitration but just like i'm on their side of like well every you manipulated like i can't accept these things that you forced during the signing you're a terrible person like what i can't get into that and then they kind of show like well there's money and because the the way that you read that is like we paid her she took the money why is she back and it's like that's not really like money doesn't solve all this and that's what it felt like they're like we paid you and you're done here why are you back and it's like it's not about money dude like it's it's deeper and it's way deeper than just vince with man it's not about this it's about a whole bunch um arbitration is just like a method of solving disputes from a neutral third party and so i know people will say well um of course they want arbitration because it's going to be in ww favor not necessarily arbitration is a third party that is not linked to ww or or janelle grant or janelle it's a third party that's going to come in to settle the dispute it's just not going to court it's almost like getting like a divorce divorce lawyer instead of meeting in front of the judge like there's like a mediator that doesn't care about either side they're just here to kind of solve it but i don't think that's what janelle grant and her representatives are after is what i'm letting them they don't want to just go and talk about this again and get more money or get more blah blah blah they want to take him to court because they want something to happen to him you know um i i get the feeling that they very much want to expose him i think they can expose him for him what he is and you can't do that in arbitration where everything's going to be sent to him again i think regardless if they go to coordinate lose i just think that they want this to be public exactly and that's why i'm saying it's not about money they just want everybody to know the kind of trying to person he is yeah kind of stuff's going on over there and you know i have no i have no real beliefs that you know the lawsuit or any legal stuff that can come of this is going to really harm him but i think it was important for this to happen for him to be exposed and for him to be um officially kicked out of the company that needed to happen that really did need to happen and knowing that that and he got got rid of all his shares and like they're really trying to be like we're a visiting man free space um so that part of that happened but there's like so much more like if she if you're in there on there that side it still feels like well he like i'm saying he wasn't the only one kind of his structure and what he built is still over there so that's kind of crazy so i understand this thing like i continuously say hasn't even gotten started to fill we'll still have not got it has not gone to court yet and that's why i'm saying they do not want this to go to court because the if it goes to court it's going to be it's going to continue to be covered by big news outlets more stuff is going to come out because of the lawsuit more stuff is going to come out because of the case and it's all going to be covered and it's all going to have Vince McMahon former owner and CEO of WWE. WWE is going to be attached. WWE is going to be dragged through the mud with the with this for the entire way and i think that's the main point in this is they want this to stop they don't want it to go to court because they want the negative news stories to go away it's about the brand it's not about Tiffany Stratton it's not about Vince McMahon it's about the brand exactly at the same point i was trying to make with the that's the piece that have they come in yeah chatwick bozeman forever uh but a w dynamite um i thought that uh this was uh this was a good week for dynamite on the story side i thought that they built up a lot of this stuff for the pay-per-view very well um the matches were good um but i felt like this week the segments segments was hidden man the segments kind of carried the shit like the matches are great but the segments were really really great this is yes that that uh that rodrick strong i spray segment was fire bro oh my god the way that they transition the camera over one shoulder while the other one like yo that was super heat and like coming into that match it was like people kind of expect the finish know what's going on not the super interested but i thought that promo specifically got a lot of eyes on that match man yeah i think they got people excited for the match um i've been sitting saying for the longest all right yeah we all kind of expect i spread a win but fight back righty and righty exactly got back in that promo like and he fought back he came with a lot of fire in that promo and i was like all right righty like this was that was really good very excited for that match man um i was excited for it anyway but i love the uh uh will all spray been like we've been in all these same locker rooms we've done all these things like everywhere that we've been you've never respected me and roddy just being like yeah because you're a goof um yeah i love him like trying to puff his chest out saying all of these things um with his entire entourage and his entire faction behind him and osprey's just standing there by his self-sink all these things so i think that made it even better um i think all the story telling that they're doing with that is really good um uh the the swerve and uh christian segment after uh swerve versus brine cage was also good um tony got into the meat of it but uh yeah basically swerve's demons came back to bite him and yes because um nick wane came back and repaid the favor of hitting him in the face with a picture of his family and making complete in the ring like he did in his gym i thought that was a really really good call back i thought it made sense for a christian to come out and say you embarrassed my son and now i'm gonna embarrass you um because of course young nick wane is his favorite son and then you tie into like the actual like real-life relationship between nick wane it's worth i think that's a really good dynamic that they're doing i don't know how he got the bleed to squirt out of his blood to squirt out of his head like that but it looked terrifying i was like oh my god that looks disgusting i hope he's okay we got a sick one here on dynamite somebody help somebody help yeah that part was uh you know black wrestlers don't blade or bleed a lot and to see it it's very very rare you see that happening so that was very scary for a little bit there but yeah i love the callbacks to that uh i saw you guys talk about it a little bit on the public enemy show uh when a baby face or when a heel wins a championship it becomes baby face it's just like forget about all the terrible things that i've done before like oh no i i wasn't just terrible two months ago now it's like no everything that you did to come up to this is coming back to bite you and they asked if this is leading to a swerving nick wane match i don't know i didn't read these spoilers in bakersfield that will be super super cool i'm into that but no i thought the segment was really strong in using nick wane to do it the blood on the picture super strong stuff especially coming into uh um this needed a little bit more story and on why christian was connected to this and i thought this really connected him to it yeah i i thought that uh i think they're doing a better job every week of fleshing out that story and making it feel more more like a main event storyline um i i'm here for it i think that that match is going to hit at uh double or nothing um also um the backstage stuff they did with swerve before he came back came out and him saying that this is him finally coming back to his home and coming washington and getting the who's house swerve house and you're getting the crowd noise behind it i thought that was really dope um the the uh elite stuff to end it the night was also good um like we alluded to with the darby stuff uh i figured we get our replacement by the end of the night because we got the official news during dynamite the eddy kingston is injured um he's got a fractured tibula i believe that is the official diagnosis um something that hurt uh he puts the picture on online where it kind of looks like uh uh Drake and Degrassy and his wheelchair but yeah get well soon eddy of course um but i i think they did a good job of pivoting bringing darby in i was very surprised to see that darby is ready to go apparently he's not cleared yet but um he should be cleared i guess within a week yeah he's gonna he's supposed to be cleared with him this week um but yeah i thought that that was a good surprise in washington to get darby um and darby has links to all of these guys he has links to fdr um he of course has links to young jack perry because last year they were in the four pillars matching double or nothing um he also has in that feud for the with the with the pillars he made a point of referencing the cali guys in his promo with mjf and as we see cali guys are running amok um so i think that was a smart tie back but i think the even funnier tie back of all of this is all of these guys are linked to stan punk in some way um of course pryan danielson long-time friend of stan punk he was the guy that advised he was the guy to to let him go fdr linked to him on television because uh cm fdr and then also he teamed with sting and darby darby when collision started went to collision and made a point of saying that cm punk is my friend what was tampon's first match in a w darby allen um so all of them all all all four of these guys have a link to cm punk and they all are day one collision guys they were all on collision when cm punk went away the guy that the show was built around was pryan danielson so that makes the line of them going after all of this stuff have been done dynamite of how dare you guys call yourself a w we're a w and i came up with the name a w we started this um i think all of this stuff is really really great i think the way that they're building this is good um i think that stared down um from last week with the with both factions going up against each other was cool and i think the way they closed the show this time was good um ocada versus dax was just as good as i thought he listened i know people online don't like dax but bro that guy can really rub some man when it comes to when it comes to that that that in ring thing he's really good at this man yeah fuck all you politics fuck all the shit that happens online whatever whatever when that shit says ding ding dax is one of the best in the world coming off the backs of that dynamite kid match with i thought was some fucking heat last week on collision and a match with ocada every time that dax has one on ones like he is on upper level like not just like oh he's really good at this like no he's like excellent he could be like in the conversation with the best wrestlers in the world if he was a singles wrestler for real yeah no this match was good i thought i thought case versus square was good as well but i thought the main event was heat i thought the way they ended the night on that the way ocada won by acting like he was gonna get out of the ring to go get the belt and trick the referee and the ref went to go put the belt back and he kicked the rope and hit dax with a low blow finish them up with the rainmaker pin them one two three look ocada is just a main event tv wrestler at this point because he it felt like he's done this forever you know no he uh go figure this guy that was the best wrestler in japan for a minute is actually really really good at wrestling um what a surprise what a surprise uh yeah no the main event was good but uh man for people that have been saying where are we going with mercedes this mercedes and willow storyline is really good man i i think all of the segments have been hidden ever since uh dynasty ever since we got to it and we've officially announced that that's the match and the second this story kicked in a high gear all the segments have been hidden i thought that this segment was perfect i think willow is doing some of the best character work of her career she's doing some of the best promos of her career as well that one liner at the end of that yeah really really good stuff i think uh we saw some online discourse with the mercedes stuff as well um how you know she's just she doesn't fit here right that she's doing the ww entrance she's still doing all of the name and conventions all of the catch phrases and stuff from ww and it doesn't work i very much think that it's intentional she is she she cares too much about wrestling um to not do things intentionally um and i think the everything she's doing the way she interrupts people with her theme music the way she comes out steals the moment and starts laterling out the catch phrases it's all intentional um the way she's doing a laugh and everything and all of the arrogance around it it's very intentional for her to big business willow by saying oh you're a thing now no no no no i back when i was in brooklyn and i changed the game when i did all these accolades that's intentional bro you don't think it's intentional that when serrhea came in and she was trying to big business brit and she got booed for that they didn't learn their lesson for that you don't think that somebody creative was like hey this is going to get you heat against one of our top baby faces if you do that that's all intentional if you come in with that wwe shit that over the top the entrance you're just like trying to get the catch phrase over the chanting and everything our fans are probably going to be against that because like we always say a w fans love a w home grounds and if you come in trying to come with that shit that you were doing over here taking from what we've built we don't like that shit i thought this was strong on both sides this is one of mercedes best promos too that she's had since coming to a w but willow was on like willow was locked in willow was like i'm about to do the promo of a lifetime right here this match uh it means a lot being put in all these situations and given a live mic almost every single week at this point has and i'm not gonna you know follow the moment i'm gonna really excel in this situation i thought that it was super super strong work from both women and built the excitement up even more for the pay per view like this we talked a couple times about main event legit last match of the show main event a lot and i thought this was a strong case for them to get it yeah i agree i think there's a very strong case that the women should get the main event because it kind of feels like one of those if if not now like in the entire history of this company on the fifth anniversary of double or nothing to show where this company is gone mercedes is far and away the biggest female free agent you've ever brought in um you've got a long-term story that you've built here with this i think this and the second match in the company like yeah this necessitates the main event um and i mean i'm sure that it's going to be a back and forth on what could be the main event but i think there's a very strong case here um but yeah there's there's too many things they're doing here that i think is intentional i think mercedes come in again and um coming straight for the homegrown belt and uh willow kind of making the point that this is the workers belt this the homegrown belt and you're not going to just come in here and just big business and take it away from people that have been here longer than you that earned that spot again the crowd is going to boo you for that um that's all that's all part of the story i don't think it's that the crowd is getting tired of her already or is that this isn't this isn't the intent of what they're doing um yeah i thought the segment was hot everything about it that one liner of uh last time we faced each other i walked as a champion you didn't walk out at all and smile she had afterwards with that little smirk and smack and everything the table bump all that was great yeah that was really fun stuff tell you willow was locked in that little smirk after she said i was like oh yeah she's cooking yeah it's what the Copeland match with malachi black i think that's gonna be dope as well i like the story that they're telling with that um i thought it was very funny that black came out it's like it's his brain doing like the live sex celebrations he was beating rick flare up on a road and all this other wild stuff like he was out there um he was i didn't put it together that was the story of this match of think it's a problem when you tell your audience that this is the path to moving up on a roster this is the path to being treated like a top tier talent when you beat somebody on the level of kenio mega visually i'm sitting at home looking like all right he just beat kenio mega this guy's a big deal now what are you going to do with that and then if you then don't do anything with that that looks like it's on that level for the next few months i have questions right um so i i do and it's not to say that i haven't enjoyed some stuff he's been doing this year um but i think they have to figure out like what's the move with him like what's the story what are we doing that doesn't mean he needs to be champion that doesn't mean push him to the moon or i hate it i just think you got to give us something you get you got to give us something tangible man like something to sink our teeth into you know what i mean like it feels like uh they'll they'll give us big moments and they keep yes um i think those kind of people don't care about waiting for the pay-per-view they just want they just want the match i want it on free tv i want to talk about the pay-per-view like you're going to do something dope at the pay-per-view too that's what wrestling is yeah uh he says they they push in jay and yeet too much again i will say sena ad brian my only issue with that that match was that i felt it was too short and jay didn't have thousands of thousands of stars like most people do after facing illia oh i think he means scars oh yeah um yeah i yeah that's what i'm saying it's it's for me it's not so much whether i like jay or not it's just the matches are kind of underwhelming i thought the match wasn't great it wasn't bad but it just that was the uh the funny part is that was the other side of the discourse feel of like that doesn't matter like it doesn't matter that about his matches like we didn't get into that part of like there was a whole another side they were like oh how many world champions have we had that didn't that weren't that great in the ring and i was like if that's where this discourse is leading i don't want no parts of this yeah i i did see a bit of that and people are like moves don't matter and blah blah blah and i was just like i don't think that's the issue here guys i don't because i think he was working fine because the issue i have with the pacing of his matches right now is it doesn't feel natural it feels very contrived and very gimmicky and it's like it's my turn okay i'm gonna get into this all right let's get into this part right here it doesn't feel like a naturally moving rest of the match it doesn't flow naturally and i think what was working for him when he was still in the bloodline he was doing the singles matches is the matches were heavily based on story that's why people like those two roman matches because it was story and like yeah there's there's storytelling aspects of what they're doing but they're just kind of overplaying their hand with the yeet stuff man yeah i think there's a like a spectrum of of jusso of like there's that story stuff which i think he's really great stuff that he did with roman and then there's the uso stuff which is kind of balls to the wall like fire fire fire fire and the yeet guy is neither one of those yeah and when i think of what a a dragon off match is like i want to see dragon off like i want to see him go out there and wrestle violently yeah and force somebody out of their comfort zone and i don't feel like they work his match yeah and i don't feel like we ever got that in this match and that's why i feel like it kind of under delivered and that again that's not a knock on jay it's just the way that they're currently um pacing his matches that i don't really like and if anything like knowing ww in their schedule and how many matches jay has to work it's probably way better on his body and shit to work like that yeah i just do punches and kicks eat eat um yeah uh that now can we simply talk about how being the yeet guy has affected the presentation and of jay and the way he wrestles also how ww tries to market something organic in the process uh waters it down bastardizes it without understanding it in the first place yeah i mean it's basically what we got at that i yeah i feel like the main issue here is that his matches feel a bit too gimmicky and i don't i don't think that it's necessarily helping him um who sells getting back together yeah uh yeah they're both going to be saying saying yeet so oh god damn it yeah you don't think he's gonna come in with the shirt where he was saying no yeet before he's gonna rip his shirt off and he's just gonna say yeet now that's gonna happen i hate that you're right because that's exactly what's gonna happen yeah they're both gonna be running around saying yeet uh more from tonyp says now that now the match i hated this week was uh jay naya it made jay look dumb in my opinion i get why but i don't like it i preferred that they had funds grab like two kaiju's on the outside before naya wins at the last second with the count out win um i don't think that it made jay look um i i like i was saying earlier i don't necessarily like the execution of it um but i've been stating since the beginning of this the big three stuff that um she's the one that's going to get out of character she's the one that's going to get a motion of and she's gonna overreact and this was the first sign of it um because she wouldn't and character she wouldn't use a chair you know what i mean so why would she be using a chair on naya right you already showed that you didn't need to do that in a real rumble mm-hmm but i think that this is showing a science with her character that she's going to be the one that overreacts this situation um and bianca doesn't need to do that i think they're they're trying to trying to do this thing where they show hints of healishness with bianca to get people to believe that bianca's gonna turn on jade i don't think that's where this is going i think that that's a red herring so then with jade does turn on her it's going to be this shock even though it's not a shock not a shock at all yeah it based on everything we know about her character and if you watch the a w it's just like mercedes i'm like i love jade like as a strong woman like it makes sense like we want a chair but she's just so much better as like that cocky as heal that is better than you yes um yeah he also says also now that i think about it so remember when i asked if bianca was possibly supposed slam for kody is the roman rematch yeah i kind of have felt too like they're just waiting to get back to the roman shit yeah because i i think you have to give him the rematch first um and i know people are gonna be like uh kody roman again but from a story perspective um him going away and trying to get better and trying to get his thrown back and get his his mantle back is the story for him so that when he loses that's going to be the justification for solo to kick him out of the stable right and you got to kind of put a bow on kody roman anytime a champion beats the long-running champion got to beat him one more time to really put the bow on it yes i mean and again this goes back to the first thing that we saw solo say and the weeks after roman left losing has consequences yep um so i do think he's going to come back and get his rematch and he is going to lose i believe and that's going to lead to the bloodline civil war stuff by war games but yeah that that that that uh contract signing thing was silly i thought that segment sucked um i i now i should preface i thought what kody said i thought kody's promos and stuff were great i thought everything he said in those made him more likable i think it made him seem even more like the man of the people all of his responses to logan were on par with what he should be of the character but uh booking this fucking match as a winner take all match initially and not clarifying what the match was and and then having your champion on twitter saying uh kody two belts and insinuating that he's going to win both belts and only to get here and he'll go i never said i was gonna say that my title on the line i just want your title um all right then why do we do this whole segment last week where we basically books to turn them in a certain way and ultimately it's not the worst decision but jay versus tiffany kind of wrote it so so pivot or plan i kind of feel like it's a pivot yeah definitely like a big don't think that they're playing to his strengths currently i think that he's a good talker i think he's a good character guy um he's a vibes guy he's a vibes guy um and i think he can have good matches i think he can do memorable spots um but i just think having him and attacking the way they did and certain stuff that they did like for me i think it makes the most sense in the world of out of anybody in the company to challenge mocks for the iWGP championship it's ricky he's the guy that makes the most sense he's been kind of trying to get this he's been trying to get this mocks match for a minute he's wrestled almost everybody else in bullet club and not bullet club but uh blackpool combat club he's the guy that should challenge him for that belt there's a couple of guys in pro wrestling that will do whatever is asked of them they're they've known for that like if the boss is like hey i need you to blah blah blah they're out there to do it um ricky starks is not that guy the issue is is that it shows on ricky's face and like when you know that he doesn't want to do it you know that he don't want to do it and i just wish he would not do that like it took like sometimes like your spot you like you just have to be in this positions because that's the way the world ends or that's the way that the world lands in pro wrestling but it's like you know that he doesn't want to be a part of this and it takes away from his presentation from me again because he is such a great talker he is such a great wrestler it's like i know you don't want to do this but just do it dude it's your job yeah uh yeah those uh those uh quotes fit trap for net interview did not help and that's why i'm in the camp of i don't think it's a work i think that he thinks that he's just speaking somewhere else i don't think those things are helpful and it doesn't benefit you to to be at war with the company no i think that i think that he should uh get put his head down and work and finish out his contract and then make a decision now if you just decide that's not where you want to be that's understandable but i don't think this is it i don't think what he's doing is helping that's not
