Článek Simony Procházkové. Časté bolesti břicha, křeče, trávicí obtíže nebo nevysvětlitelná únava, za těmito příznaky se může skrývat Crohnova choroba či ulcerózní kolitida, chronické střevní záněty. O těchto poměrně vážných nemocích se stále moc neví, přitom jimi u nás trpí desítky tisíc lidí.
Ulcerózní kolitida a Crohnova choroba patří mezi typické IBD nemoci neboli idiopatické střevní záněty. „Stanovení diagnózy ulcerózní kolitidy je relativně snadné. Pacienti se totiž potýkají s opakovaným nucením na stolici. Dochází u nich k vyprazdňování krve a hlenů, takže brzy navštíví lékaře, který tuto nemoc dokáže odhalit poměrně rychle. S Crohnovou chorobou je to horší, průměrná doba od prvních obtíží do určení diagnózy se v tomto případě pohybuje mezi 12 a 16 měsíci,“ říká gastroenterolog prof. Milan Lukáš.
