This is AP News, I'm Rita Folle. He's a lawyer and a defense witness in Donald Trump's hush money trial, but he angered the judge while on the witness stand yesterday, and he'll be back on the stand today. Lawyer Robert Costello, the AP's Michael Sisak in New York. Judge Juan Marchan excused the jury and said he wanted to instruct the witness in decorum. He called him out for his under-the-breath remarks and for running through stop signs, running through those objections. During that admonition, the judge got even more incensed. He accused the witness of staring him down and said that at certain points during his testimony, he had been rolling his eyes and giving him side eye. Upset, the judge ordered the courtroom cleared. Officers ushered reporters out into the hallway. Donald Trump's lawyers are hoping Robert Costello's testimony will help undermine the credibility of the key prosecution witness, Michael Cohen. The National Weather Service is warning of severe thunderstorms across parts of the Midwest and Upper Great Lakes today. There could be tornadoes too, say forecasters. Some U.S. allies are supporting that request for arrest warrants for leaders of Israel and Hamas, the AP's Karen Schatz, with the latest. A hearing today in Missouri for a man convicted of murder who says he didn't do it. Christopher Dunn has spent 33 years behind bars for murder, but he says he's innocent. Now prosecutors in St. Louis are convinced that Dunn is telling the truth, but lawyers for the Missouri Attorney General's Office disagreed and want to keep Dunn in prison. Dunn was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1990 death of a 15-year-old boy, a 12- and 14-year-old, saying they witnessed the shooting, but they later recanted, saying they were coerced by police and prosecutors. No physical evidence linked Dunn to the crime. At an evidentiary hearing in 2020, a judge agreed that a jury would likely find Dunn not guilty, but the judge refused to exonerate Dunn, citing a 2016 Missouri Supreme Court ruling that only death row inmates could make a freestanding claim of actual innocence.
