AP News. I'm Ed Donahue. Congress is again working on a bill to improve border security. The last attempt was rejected by Senate Republicans. Florida Republican Rick Scott is not on board this time. It's not a bill that secures the border. This is a bill that codifies what Biden has done. And we're not going to do it. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the choice is clear. Tomorrow, we will see who is serious about actually wanting to fix the border and who prefers to merely talk about fixing the border. The Republican National Committee headquarters was evacuated briefly after an odd delivery. The AP, Sandra McGahnny, has the story. The building here in Washington was cleared out as police investigated two vials of blood addressed to Donald Trump. Hazmat teams recalled in when the vials were found. It's unclear if anyone came into contact with the blood and to whom it belonged. Trump is the presumptive GOP presidential nominee and has taken over the national party apparatus. His handpicked the leaders are now running the RNC, including his daughter-in-law, Sagar McGahnny Washington. Near Philadelphia and Chester, Pennsylvania, police say a former employee armed with a handgun opened fire at a linen company, killing two people. The suspect is in custody. Norway, Ireland, and Spain say they would recognize the Palestinian state. Russia's militaries begun drills involving tactical nuclear weapons that were announced by Russian authorities earlier this month. It's an apparent warning to senior Western officials who had spoken about the possibility of deeper involvement in the war in Ukraine. This is AP News. More people are keeping their cars or trucks longer. Vehicles that are on the road now, on average, are so old that they're breaking the record. The average age is 12.6 years. According to S&P mobility, it tracks state vehicle registration data nationwide. Americans are keeping their vehicles largely because new ones cost so much. The average new vehicle selling price is more than $45,000, says J.D. Power. And that's down more than $2,000 from the peak in December of 2022. New vehicle sales are starting to return to pre-pandemic levels.
