AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. In Cambridge, Massachusetts, a group of graduates walked out of the Harvard Commencement, chanting "Free, Free Palestine." There have been weeks of protest on campus. 13 Harvard students who took part in a protest encampment are not able to receive degrees alongside their classmates. Meantama Capitol Hill, a House committee is hearing from college leaders from around the country about pro-Palestinian demonstrations, Frederick Lawrence is from the Phi Beta Kappa Society. "We always need to keep in mind that the fundamental goal of our colleges is the creation, discovery and sharing of knowledge. The intellectual challenges of campus life may come from many sources, including protest." The hearing is about concessions colleges gave to pro-Palestinian protesters to end demonstrations on campuses. "North Carolina's public university system board voted to repeal a nearly five-year-old diversity, equity and inclusion policy. The Justice Department is suing Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, saying an illegal monopoly has driven up ticket prices for concerts and sporting events." Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Cantor says it has created a shield over the industry. "Each of these acts are unlawful on its own. But taken together, they're even worse. Collectively, these practices forge an impenetrable corporate barrier around the live music industry." Live Nation has denied it has engaged in practices that violate antitrust laws. President Biden is meeting today with the President of Kenya, William Ruto. "I am confident, Mr. President, that a partnership between the United States of America and Kenya will give us the solutions that the world so seriously needs."
