TV News, I'm Ben Thomas, the bank accounts of tens of thousands of U.S. businesses and consumers have been frozen following the abrupt shutdown of Synapse. He said why he explains. Synapse acts as a middleman between financial technology companies and banks. Synapse filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April and has shut down its services to some of its FinTech or bank partners, leading to accounts being frozen or showing funds not existing at all. The legal battle of Synapse's bankruptcy is still playing out in court and Synapse is not a bank, so its regulation is not handled by the Federal Reserve or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. And because none of the banks that Synapse has worked with have failed, there is no eligibility for FDIC deposit insurance to be paid out. In a software update this week, MasterCard's integrating artificial intelligence into its fraud prediction technology. It says it should be able to detect patterns in stolen cards faster and allow banks to replace them before they're used by criminals. The APs can sweep. E-commerce, that is where the fraud is still happening, still rising, and they believe that by creating unique numbers attached to every transaction online, that's where we're going to be able to stop the fraud. Norway, Ireland and Spain say they'll recognize the Palestinian state, while largely symbolic the move further deepens Israel's isolation over its war against Hamas and Gaza. Israel immediately denounced the decisions and recalled its ambassadors. In US politics, Nikki Haley says she'll be voting for Donald Trump in the general election, speaking at the Hudson Institute. Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they're just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that. Former model Crystal McKinney is accusing Sean Diddy Combs of sexually assaulting her in the bathroom at his New York City recording studio in 2003. She was 22. The lawsuit filed Tuesday. No comment yet from Combs, however, on Sunday, he had this to say about surveillance video showing him punching and kicking ex-girlfriend Cassie. "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my ashes in that video and disgust it." Before the disturbing video came to light, Combs initially denied all allegations against him.
