AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. Nikki Haley says she'll be voting for Donald Trump in the general election, and Donahue has more. Haley dropped out of the GOP presidential race two months ago. She and Trump had been sharply critical of each other. But speaking of the Hudson Institute, Haley said, "I will be voting for Trump." Haley says Trump has not been perfect on many issues, "But Biden has been a catastrophe." Even though she's been out of the race for months, Nikki Haley is still getting support in Republican primaries. Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they're just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that. Haley earned more than 21 percent of the vote in Maryland's presidential primary last week. Ed Donahue, Washington. In Florida, a heated hearing over the federal classified documents case against Trump, Charles had been set for this week, Norway, Ireland, and Spain say they'll recognize the Palestinian state, Charles D'Oledesma. Norway's prime minister, Eunice Garstura, said the Scandinavian country will officially recognize a Palestinian state as of May 28, Garstura, said there cannot be peace in the Middle East if there's no recognition. I'm Charles D'Oledesma. In retaliation, Israel's finance minister says he'll stop transferring tax revenue earmarked for the Palestinian Authority, White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, says that's wrong. Because withholding funds destabilizes the West Bank, it undermines the search for security and prosperity for the Palestinian people, which is in Israel's interests. And I think it's wrong to withhold funds that provide basic goods and services to innocent people. So from our perspective, those funds should continue to go with all of the necessary safeguards, but they should continue to flow. And the Federal Bureau of Prisons will go on trial next year over claims it'll out an environment where guards abused incarcerated women at a now-shuttered California prison. This is AP News. Inflation in the UK dropped in April to its lowest in three years, an annual rate of 2.3%. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called it general election for July 4. And Seth Sutel has the AP markets report. Stocks pulled back from their record highs as concerns about high interest rates weighed on the market. The S&P 500 fell 3/10%, the NASDAQ composite slipped 2/10%, both indexes set all-time highs a day earlier. The Dow lost 201 points, that's about half a percent. The market had been close to flat early in the day, but turned lower after minutes from the Federal Reserve's latest meetings showed that policymakers believed it would take longer than previously thought to get inflation fully under control. It slumped 8% after the big retailer reported profit that fell short of analysts' expectations. Nvidia reported another blockbuster quarter of earnings growth after the closing bell, as well as a dividend increase and a 10-for-1 stock split. Seth Sutel, New York. I'm Ben Thomas, AP News.
