8P News. I'm Jackie Quinn. Hundreds of residents in New Jersey are without power this afternoon after severe thunderstorms pound the state. New York is also under a severe thunderstorm watch. It's the same system moving eastward that caused devastation across the south. Governor Greg Abbott on WFA-TV. "Lives lost property reduced to rubble. The hopes and dreams of Texas families and small businesses have literally been crushed." At least 21 people have been killed in tornadoes that raked through Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. President Biden observed Memorial Day with the annual Reef Laying Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and Joint Chiefs Chairman C. Q. Brown paid tribute to the fallen. "We gather here on Memorial Day to honor those who are wearing the uniform when they gave their lives for our nation and its ideals." A tragic mistake. Police in Southern California have arrested a man who's been terrorizing in neighborhood with a slingshot for months.
