The Biden administration's goal is, within the next five and a half years, to produce half a million electric vehicle charging stations across the United States. They've allocated seven and a half billion dollars for it, but they're a little behind schedule if they want 500,000 stations by 2030. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg joined Margaret Brennan on CBS's "Face the Nation" to discuss the abominable return on investment. Let me ask you about a portion of this that I think does fall under your portfolio, and that's the charging stations, you mentioned. The Federal Highway Administration says only seven or eight charging stations have been produced with a seven and a half billion investment that taxpayers made back in 2021. Why isn't that happening more quickly? So the President's goal is to have half a million chargers up by the end of this decade. Now, in order to do a charger, it's more than just plunking a small device into the ground. There's utility work, and this is also really a new category of federal investment. But we've been working with each of the 50 states. Every one of them is getting formula dollars to do this work, engaging them, and the first handful. Again, by 2030, 500,000 chargers, and the very first handful of chargers are now already being physically built. You heard that correctly. No, she didn't mean to say seven or eight thousand. She meant seven or eight. And if you can count all of these charging stations using your fingers, why are we unsure which it is, seven or eight?
